Idk. I had a few salamis delivered to NJ and dried them for three weeks like I usually do. I was a bit annoyed because the iloveromanian order company shipped it in a cardboard box with wadded up newspaper. Being July i met the FedEx driver at the door but the salamis were around body temperature after a few days of shipping. The wrapping says keep refrigerated. Oh well. After three weeks hanging at 65 degrees at 58 humidity I cut into it with some friends on shabbos with cold beer.The verdict: The salami honestly is underwhelming and flavorless. The fat content is good but there isnt much flavor at all past some decent beef and fat. Ive hung almost every brand of salami available and this salami is not as good as an AH or Shor Habor. I sliced it thin and added lemon juice and black pepper because it needed something to cut the plain fat and beef flavor and there isnt any spice that I can taste to make it anything more than ground beef, fat and salt.Oh well, I wont be going out of my way to get this again. I’m very disappointed actually. Three stars, one for the fact that it’s quality beef and two out of respect for the institution.

This is a fantastic place. They have the best pastrami in the entire Chicago area. Their hot dogs are outstanding. Best of all, the owner is the nicest guy in the world. He is super friendly and welcoming.

Romanian Kosher is the best deli I have ever been to. They have a huge selection of meats and their salamis are second to none. Quick tip- have them cut some fresh deli and put it on a roll for you for an easy and fast sandwich.

My wife and i travel from DuPage to shop there. Its a little smelly..but hey..its a butcher shop..what do u expect. Great customer service and they know their customers by name. Try the beef sticks...youll love them.

The meat quality is amazing. Honestly the Rib Eye steaks are the literally are to die for. The hot dogs and Burgers are the best quality. Chopped liver done right. There a reason it has been open since 1957 and restaurants all over the world order their meat.This is a Jewish food place and you will see the most of the negative comments are Romanian people who thought this would be Romanian food. Its Jewish Food made by Jewish Romanians (at least originally) .

Where else can you get the world famous Romanian salami?!? Richard and Daniel are always there and happy to help. Checkout line speed could use a little boost in speed, but if it went any faster, Id never have time to kibitz with everyone there.

I love this place! Great kosher meat, custom if you wish. The only place I know where you can get kosher tongue. Great premade stuffed chicken, for those on the go. Just remember to defrost them first. And the chopped liver and salami and corned beef and pastrami and....all so good its all marketed all over. Closed on Saturdays of course.

Truth: before this was hip, it was my neighborhood kosher butcher. it still is. but its gotten better. we are now requested by kosher keeping friends to board planes with suitcases full of sausages and hot dogs and corned beef. cant say i blame our west coast friends. it really is the BEST home made kosher sausage weve ever had (are you listening, LA??) and the lady at the counter will signal to you if the onion rolls are not fresh. listen to her.

This has some of the best cold cuts in the country, especially salami. People come from all of the country to pick up stuff here. I met people from New York and from San Diego shopping here.

But, you arent going there for ambience; youre going there for kosher beef.As a customer, they have a few coolers with pre-cut meats and hot dogs and the meat case with the friendly butcher to take care of you. And hell make you a corned beef sandwich if youd like to take it with you.Get the garlic sausage.

Pricess havent changed over the years if they did they were minimal.They offer deli sandwiches on roll or bread with a mustard option. (people dont know this) if your in the area and just want a quick bite you can grab a sandwich to go.Sharron by the register is super sweet and always asks about my day and how are the kids.Wait times arnt to bad. Alot has to do with the customers being uncertain what they want because of the big selection.Lots of parking available on the side.Romanians is a staple in Comunities around the world (shipping on certain items is available)

I wouldn’t recommend patronizing an establishment that lies and plays trickery’s on people. On Tuesday September 3rd at 430pm I contacted the store about getting items for the upcoming Jewish holiday. I took an Uber from Madison St after an hour train ride. I was told if I could get there by 5pm. They would honor my request. I got to the store as the undocumented workers got rushed out from the butcher area and when the staff realized I was in the store they threw me out and refused to sell me what i needed. The employee that was so ignorant is shown in the photos on the Romanian private website. Short Stuaght Scmuck with grey hair and mustache. Rudest Jew I ever came across. Don’t bother spending a dime.

During our visit there we encountered a very poor customer service and they are rude. The place looks filthy and outdated. Their salami is mediocre at best. We ended up also shopping at Hungarian, and Hungarians own salami was 10 times better than Romanians.
