I recently inherited a pair of lamps that had belonged first to my grandparents, then my parents, so they’re old. I just picked them up from The Lamp Shop and they are stunning!! I had them rewired, and the brass hardware switched out. The work done is top notch!! Bill was great to work with and had great suggestions!! I even purchased new shades for a very reasonable price. I highly suggest The Lamp Shop if you need any sort of lamp repairs.

I had a French provincial lamp that had stopped working. I was worried that I would not be able to get it repaired, especially because it was an ornate older lamp.However, through several calls in hopes of finding a repair shop I was directed to The Lamp Shop and spoke to Bill. Bill was very personable and professional and asked how he could help, assuring me that not only could he fix it, but that considering the problem, he should be able to fix it while I waited. He did exactly that!It took no more than 30 minutes. He reworked the electrical system and my lamp works better than ever. It was such a relief. I would highly recommend this Electrical service and the shop has a variety of other unique beautiful lamps to purchase as well! A definite find!

Brought in a painting light that needed repair. Once he got the lamp to his table, he was very quick to investigate and repair it. Price was reasonable and I would 100% recommend for any light repairs!

Took an old antique Schlitz chandelier light fixture in that needed a light insert he made a fixture for me to use saved the day ! Very nice and very fast 👍 beautiful job on it! Will go back if I need to . Bill is very nice too. Thanks bill

Awesome experience. The owner is very customer friendly and knowledgeable. He rewired my moms lamps that she has had for over 50 yrs. They work like brand new.

Owner is super flexible with drop-off times if you need to come in a little later than the posted closing time. Lots of selection and special order is possible, too. Pricier shades than Target or Ikea, but if you have a special lamp project like I did, its worth it so save the extra trip and dragging your lamp to a store to try shades.

Finding a lamp shop these days is a rarity. Finding great customer service from a knowledgeable sales person is a welcome event in any business. You will find both at The Lamp Shop. This place is a little gem tucked away in the Chicago neighborhood of Mount Greenwood. Chock full of lamps of all kinds, parts galore, and an extremely helpful owner. We found the lamp shade and finial that gave our lamp the accent that it needed. Quality comes at a price. Not exorbitant, but not big box prices. But let’s face it, you get what you pay for. If you want a good selection of quality merchandise, reasonable prices for what you get, and a friendly staff member who knows his merchandise then you will be delighted to find your way to The Lamp Shop. It’s worth the trip.

Husband wanted to throw my lamp away and buy a new one. No way. Found the lamp shop, took it to them, the owner was professional and courteous(a rarity nowadays), fixed it on the spot. Brought another lamp in a few weeks later. Ill keep coming back.The journey is worth it.

I have purchased beautiful lamp shades for my vintage lamps in the past.I was disappointed when I have stopped by several times. The shop was closed at a time the sign said that it would be open.I ended up going to another lamp shop way out of my way on Harlem Ave.
