We came here on one of the Saturdays during lunch time. It was so quiet the food hall, we thought it wasnβt opened.Menu selections are good. Food are good. Itβs one stop for all Latin food. If you are curious about Latin food, this will be a good place for you to get an introduction.Overall:Menu: 4starsFood: 4starsPrice: $Service: 4stars
Concept of food stations in the style of a cafeteria is cool. The hype about this place is much bigger than the bang as the food is just okay. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Go for the experience but you can find better Latin fare in many neighborhoods across the city. For downtown, particularly this mall, it works.
Came here for brunch. Interesting concept. Food is good but takes a long time to make and having only 2 hour limit really makes you jump around to taste all the items. There is no Bloody Mary bar as advertised ! The only reason I am giving this a star down. They just do normal bloodys here and you have to wait 10 min between drink orders. The food itself is good. Plates are not very big.
Latinicity is a great Latin food hall find in the city, located across the street from the Oriental Theater, next to the Goodman Theater, and down the street from the Cadillac theater. Its inside Block 37 and uses an ingenious card system that tracks your purchases at each food stand before you pay at the end. I had the Pepito Torta with chili aioli sauce - absolutely delicious! Id love to come back for the $2 Taco Tuesdays!
It should be made clear that I visited this place on a Monday night. It was not busy and low key. The lighting, decor, and ambiance was very cozy and inviting. The shops and their staff seemed disconnected and unexcited, but our food was still very tasty and satiating. The Mexican burrito I ate was huge and delicious! Cool seat near the window also added to the nice ambiance. You pay with a card they provide you at the door, and return it at the end. Overall positive experience.
Great cafeteria-style dining space located in the Block 37 complex. They offer a wide range of Latin-influenced dishes, with plenty of twists on popular items. Thereβs a great selection and always seems to be plenty of seating, even during peak lunch time, so itβs a great place for a quick bite with colleagues or friends.
I love this place. Food is awesome and clean. I gave them 4 stars only because if you order a whole pizza it will take a very long time to get it.
Love the set up. They hand you a restaurant credit card as you walk in to use at any food station of which they have several. As you order your food they swipe your card to add the charges. It is even used at the bar. Once you leave you hand the cashier your card to charge what youve ordered. Food and drink were great! We were in a bit of a hurry so we didnt order much but def want to come back for the full experience.
Unique and amazing place! Latincity is made up of a bunch of small south american resturant fronts, each serving different types of latin american food. Had the lomo saltado which was delicious and on par with what ive had elsewhere. They have a little bit of everything here (coffee, drinks, desserts and tons of food options). If your looking for a unique and delicious experience, come here!
First timer and I like the process of having to get a card before entering, choosing from a variety of food booths, getting the card swiped for your purchases, then paying at the exit after you have enjoyed your meal in the dining area. My fiancΓ© and I enjoyed our pambaso, burger, fries, and esquites.
Ive been here twice in the last week, and they have a good variety of food choices. I had the fish tacos (mahi mahi) at Mariscos and they were great (see picture). On my second visit I had the carne asada and carnitas tacos, and they were good, but not as good as the fish. I look forward to trying the torta on my next visit.
Great place. I enjoyed myself. Okay the young lady at the taco bar needs a serious discussion about how to deal with customers who may ask questions. This was my first time. So Iβm new. A little patience goes along way. Other than that I would give this great place a Five star. I love the concept.
Sadly permanently closed. No updates on their website or Facebook group to let you know.
I was there today, a wide variety of food stations. Big open spaces. Wonderful window views and natural light. With everything closing in the heart of downtown, this was a very pleasant surprise. Nice staff, variety of food, accommodating staff and reasonable prices for downtown area.
Had a pretty good time during a short stop in Chicago. Thought the prices were really good for downtown and they had a happy hour going on at the bar while we were there. Cool concept with the card that works at all the vendors and you get your bill on the way out. Food overall was average, and some places were out of specific items.. but overall would recommend.
The spot is perfect, in the heart of ChiTown for all Latino Foodiez :)My memory of first visit here last 2016 is in the bar where I found myself a good selectionz of Tequila & AΓ±ejoz then wash it off with local beer. This year keep finding myself here (Thankz to my cuz) since joining AMC A1 haha Back to my review --> As a Poke lover, I cant pass Sushi & Ceviche Bar. Ohh, soo good & fresh salmons then all the ingredients complimenting each other. Feel free to ask the chef to do the mix of your liking e.g. The one I want on the menu is supposed to be super-spicy but the super friendly staff delicately made it to my satisfaction.Burguesa Burger, same beef but the sauce makez the difference... gotta love the FFries too.Why its not 5 Stars? The Taco Tuesday is only at one, yup... One Station only for Taco Tuesday --- YIKEZ! For $2 taco, yeah for Chicken & pork... But I like fish & shrimp too, hmmmmOverall, I love this place & still looking forward for a Sunday Brunch!
AWESOME food and quite a variety!
Stopped in for a quick bite and drink. Stopped by during the dinner rush. Enjoyed a delicious burrito made by a very friendly staff member. Enjoyed the DJ and the view as we watched the traffic below.
I absolutely Love this place! I had them make me a salad with added chicken and avocado! Pricey, but worth every penny! Its also very spacious and well organized regarding placement of each station. Staff was friendly! Will definitely be back!
Love the different styles of food and it is all you can eat. Although you do have to spend a little more for coffee or alcoholic beverages. All you can eat comes with drinks as well(soda, and lemon water)
When you walk in the door they give you a swipe card. Any food or drinks you want to purchase are swiped into the card. Then when you leave, they swipe the card and you pay for everything that was placed on it.This is somewhat like a food court but much better. You go to different stations (similar to the different restaurants at a typical food court) and order your food. There are many different seating areas so everybody is not together in one giant seating area Luke you find at a typical food court.I went to Machefe Taqueria where I had chips with guacamole and Pork Al Pastor taco. The food was absolutely delicious. I got there during happy hour and had a half price margarita. ($5 instead of $10 - for the size I would never pay $10)The place was very clean. A busboy is constantly walking assertions removing dirty dishes from your table and cleaning after people leave.I would absolutely come back here again.
Love love love this place... the concept is great.. I will not tell, people will steal the idea... the food was amazingly great... we tried two different restaurants but I only have pics of one... I ate the tacos too fast LOL
Very nice place. Very clean, friendly staff, good food options. What I didnt like were the shrimp tacos - too much breading for my taste - otherwise pretty good. Also, music around the bar area was a bit too loud. Might be fine for afternoon drinks but not good for business lunch meeting - or even catching up with friends.
Fantastic place to try so many different foods! You are able to try a number of restaurants in one place, and check out when you are done sampling everything youd like. I had amazing shrimp tacos, and a burrito al pastor. Also, the guacamole was fantastic. There is also both a coffee bar in the back and a full service bar.
A really cool concept for dining with a ton of different food options. A great place to take a group who will have a hard time settling on a place to go as they have all kinds of food. The idea is you order from a counter but its more gourmet than what you may think. You can get as much food as you want, they scan your card and you pay at the end. Despite the name it is not all Latin food. Would highly recommend.
I used to go here when they first opened and the food was great. Atmosphere was great it was nice and cozy and felt warm. I went today and it was the complete opposite. It seemed short staffed nobody really there. The place was freezing cold, by the time I sat down to eat my food was cold. My bread was hard it was just not the same. Half the sodas in the machine were down. The menu was almost completely different it just wasnβt the same I probably wouldnβt go back.
I came here for a brunch date and it was one of the best dates Id ever been on. Not only was it a great value, but such a cute set up and ambiance. Buffet brunch w/unlimited mimosas for $35 in the loop?! Plus they validate, so $5 parking. Im obsessed and this is my new fave for brunch.
I eat here for lunch and have gone to happy hour. Its like a street market with a little something for anyone. They have a variety of foods and different stations to choose from. Happy hour starts at 4pm and select drinks are $6, pitchers are $20 and Tequila shots are $3. They have taco Tuesday as well as all you can eat weekends. I say go and give it a try!
The cafeteria style concept is interesting. I didnt love or hate that aspect, but made tipping confusing. Big and open space near the bar. $8.00 for chips/guacamole or $4.00 for a street style taco. The happy hour and brunch specials looked good.
Sunday brunch with $5 parking is great deal. You pay at the front. Nonalcoholic drink brunch is only $20 for all you can eat. Go to any station to order food but only two items at a time.Fastest line is always tacos. The slowest is the seafood but the seafood soup is amazing. Also pop by the salad station for their smoothies.
Wonderful food hall!Lots of healty options! They have a happy hour during the week! You get a card like a credit or bus card when you walk in and when you visit a food vendor they add your total to the card and you pay at the end when you are leaving. Its genius!!
Latinicity is a large, diverse, upscale Latino foodcourt, offering from sandwiches to soups to tacos to steak to salad to Peruvian inspired noodle dishes. Burgers are also available, as well as deserts and an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.I love both the concept and the food and I visit quite often, although usually I kick myself for forgetting how busy it can get during lunch hour. So my tip is: go around 11:30 or after 1pm. Iβve had some nice cocktails here too, so watch out, it get crowded again during happy hour. The dining space has beautiful, sweeping views of downtown Chicago, and Latinicityβs proximity to downtown attractions and reasonable prices make it a great lunch spot.
This place is cool. It is like the old time cafeterias. When you go in you get a swipe card. You go to kiosks and order food, and they put the record on your card. On your way put they swipe the card and you pay.The food is inevitably good, the people are inevitably friendly, and the ambience is nice.
Delicious food. Reasonably priced for downtown fare. They have food from different Latin x cultures. They hire latino employees. I enjoyed my first experience and would go back if in the area.
This place is fun and different. Each person receives a card so they can go to any station and have their order swiped onto that card so they can pay as they exit. The tacos are really good, authentic. There are many other stations to try depending on what you feel like eating (stir fry, seafood, grill etc.) Great happy hour specials, great location and a great place for gatherings.
Great option for a quick lunch. The place was not very full so everything was really quick and it offers a big amount of varieties latino food. Sunday offers a brunch for $20,00 with all you can eat.
We came for the Sunday brunch. The bloody Mary tasted like tomato juice, the mimosa tasted off, like it was made with white wine. The sangria was decent and the only drink that was worth while. The food was hit or miss, some was just warm. After an hour, the tacos were cold. The waffle bacon burger was made to order, fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly which increases the rating by a star. Tl;dr, was hyped to come here and really let down.
Great experience! Large selection of food, nice bar, and you only pay when you leave. The main problem with that is you wont know how much youre spending until the end. My bill came up to $30+ for just a strip steak and 1 drink. Definitely a treat yourself place and not a regular lunch outing. I would say on the pricey side. $$$
I really enjoyed it there for a Saturday lunch. I had a fusion stir fry dish that I enjoyed. Was not very busy when we went but it was a pleasant environment overall. A little expensive but not when compared to other Chicago prices.
This place is ridiculously expensive for the quality of food available. Its glorified fast food. A neat concept to have various food stations but thats all thats noteworthy here. We had to wander around with our trays until we spotted a group getting up to leave. Not enough tables for the quantity of people they invite in. Three of the food counters did not have everything available on their already short menu. The food was heavily processed, and or deep fried, and or salty. If you like McDonalds youd probably be fine with this place but expect to pay more. You might as well just go to McDonalds, thats the caliber of food here. I do not recommend this place.
Great concept, wonderful staff that accommodated a large group on short notice. The chef greeted warmly and none of the 40 guests we brought had any complaints about the food. I had the cimmichurri steak, plantains, and a Cuban coffee. All perfectly prepared and delicious. I will definitely be back to try the other stations.
Its like a Latin food court but nicer and has a bar. Happy hour 4-6pm M-Sat. Located at the SE corner of Randolph and Dearborn on the 3rd floor of Building 37 (escalators and glass elevators). You are given a swipe card as you enter then can choose whatever you want in any of the food establishments. When you leave, drop off your tray near the trash and pay when you leave using the swipe card. (Be sure to not misplace it before you pay).
What is happening here? All lunchtime eateries in this area packed to the gills. Stopped by for lunch...pretty much empty, not a single person in the actual restaurant, high priced. The sandwich I had shouldve been executed better for the price. Maybe under delivering on all that up front hype.
Great place for Latin American food! Lots of variety, and the space is beautiful. Good portion sizes, great bar. Find a spot by the huge windows overlooking the street for a great experience.
This is a great lunch option in downtown Chicago for those looking to try something different from the standard sandwiches, salads, and bowl being served up at 99% of the other places downtown. There are a number of various counters with different menus to choose from, and I was so happy to be able to get roasted plantains and grilled, fresh asparagus as my side dishes. Everything was delicious and I cant wait to return.
GREAT Selection! Love the asparagus and plantain. Great place to meet people for lunch because everyone can choose something different and you dont have to go to a bunch of different places. Also, their Mocha is to die for. Love This Place.
My husband and I visited Latinicity for dinner on a Thursday night. We arrived around 6pm and although there were quite a few people, there was plenty of space and it didnt feel crowded. We both ordered from Chaufa Wok - the food was average, nothing special, and the attendant was preoccupied bordering on rude. He did not use gloves to put the fries in the fryer (thankfully my dish did not include fries) and the amount of food he gave us was small (we ordered ours to go). I hope the other food stations are better and the attendants are more professional. We may try this place for brunch since its unlimited.
The food wad succulent and divine!! and the manager (Roberto) was personable shared information about how the food was not processed, the brunch and pueblo restaurant, not to mention that he was super fine!!!! I really enjoyed myself and Ill definitely be back!!!!
Loved the concept. You enter in and get a card. Pick out whatever you want to eat, sit down and eat it. At each station, they will scan the provided card. When you leave, you check out with the card, which provides all the items scanned at each station. Really good food across the board.
Great concept but it is slightly overwhelming on your first visit. A good place for large groups because there are so many choices.
Truly a different experience with food and restaurant dining experience. Great food, beautiful city sites, and sometimes live music!! Very modern and cultural.
One of my fave places to go in the loop! I really like how big the dining space is with several options for seating. The food is always yummy! Ive never had any complaints. I love the Sunday brunch deal that they have. :)
Food is great. Great fesh food takes time. The Experience of International Latino flavors to you pallet is A Latinicity experience. I believe if you ever looking for culture knowledge, food is a great way to start that experience. There is only one Latino food hall in the U.S.A. and its in Chicago....
This food hall is a fun experience and has great food! I especially like the latinicity burger, but theres tons of options to choose from. Next time, Im definitely going to try the Latin/Asian fusion booth; everything looked super tasty!
Cute place with types in one area a mini food court inside Block 37Good price for Cuban steak sandwich with
I was at Latinicty for an event. The venue had the best catered food I have ever had. There is plenty of space for a large group of people, we had at least 60 there and it never felt cramped. There is a great atmosphere here that is unique and authentic. The only drawback is that it is in a mall, but I cant fault them for that. Highly recommend.
Superb. Large array of options, and all are delicious. Id eat here every day. Higher price point but great quality. Try and beat the lunch rush before 12.
Very nice modern take on the food court. Lots of fresh food options for all kinds of tastes. Really decent prices too especially for downtown Chicago.
If your cafeteria was designed to have all different flavors of Mexican food, then this place is it! Great views of the city and plenty of seating. Good for a quick bite or post work pick me up!
Delicious! Love it every time I go. Prices are higher but it is high-end fast food!! So good!! ππππ
Looked for my favorite Al Pastor tacos and found them although not grilled. The flavor was perfect. The cooks were friendly and didnt take offence to my questions about the food. This Latin theme food court is in a beautiful space. There are group and individual seating option that include tables of various sizes and bar seating. Alcohol is serves in Latinicity.
Lots of options. Large portions. Friendly staff. Casual dining at its best. They give you a credit card when you come in and food stations add food to your card. DONT LOSE YOUR CARD. It will cost you $150!
Gio, Fatima and Hector are the most awesome bartenders! Theyll make your lunch or dinner a special occasion of you sit at the bar! Los amo!
I was there for a private event and the food was awesome! It was a great space for the group, and the staff was attentive and welcoming. Great drinks, too, and a view of the city lights. Looking forward to going back!
Amazing place with a variety of food to choose from. I liked the system where you go to individual joints and put it on a single card. Very convenient.
A whole hall full of different Latin food selections. The squash soup was my favorite but it was all good. Sunday is brunch day. very authentic food. Most of the customers were of Latin origins and were having a fine time.
I absolutely loved this place.I visited with my family and found myself grooving to the Latin music and entertaining my granddaughter. Prices are family friendly. When I visit Chicago again, this place will be my favorite place to visit.
A lot of choice and decent prices. Atmosphere is cool and decoration nice. The staff is helpful and very polite.
This place is just fun! Wonderful selections of food and drink. The views are amazing! Great place for groups before going to the theater! Reasonably priced and a great staff!
This is more like a whole Latin food court with great options! Take your time to look at all the stations as there is a lot to choose from. Everything made to order, fresh and very tasty. I was here for lunch but will be back for a Sunday brunch.
Was there with my husband last week for lunch, and had chicken teriyaki fried rice and noodles. The food is just average and served cold . But the strange thing which we encountered is while check out my husband presented both the food cards and made the payment while I was standing next to him the entire time, but the inefficient and clueless lady had the audacity to ask me again for my share of payment. When my husband told he paid for both and she had swiped 2 food cards she replied β really ??? O may be!β Lady, please take your job seriously .They should really hire someone better
