I had high hopes for this place before going there in person. I found Algor through a list of dealers for a plumbing fixture company I really liked. I called ahead and spoke to a very nice receptionist who encouraged me to come to the showroom and check out what they had. I typically get my fixtures from Studio 41 so I thought it might be a nice change of pace to support a local company.We went to the showroom (modest size but cool layout) and spent about 30 minutes looking at everything before we requested to speak with a sale’s representative. When the rep finally came, he made it very clear that he was not interested in helping us by giving us dirty looks and not really paying attention to what we were saying. Ultimately, he did recommend a fixture that would be better than the one we were initially planning on buying — though he disappeared to “look at catalogues” for nearly another half hour.When it came time to talk price and placing the order, he became very cagey. He gave us a flat price for all of the fixtures but no guarantee of when they would ship. As a designer, I asked if their company would offer trade pricing. He said yes, but “only for certain things” and he would not tell me how much the trade pricing would be.At this point, I knew that I was going to get scammed if I tried to place my order here because they he would not give me an honest trade price. I ended up placing my order at Studio 41: I bought the same Grohe fixtures, all in stock, and for $700 less than what he had quoted me! Unbelievable!If you are a contractor looking to bulk-purchase plumbing roughs or HVAC equipment, then Algor is probably a good choice for you. Otherwise, if you are a designer or just a homeowner trying to buy some fixtures, then you should consider buying them someplace else. Check out their showroom, but do not trust them for fair prices if you are looking to buy.

I came here with my mom because we were looking for a toilet and bath tub and Mike was very helpful we bought 2 toilet and a tub. This is where it get complicated. My mom didnt like the first style for upstairs and she like this other one but we ended up returning it as well because of the gap was too big. My mom talk with Mike saying that we would like to return this one for the first style and he agreed to it but once I got there he change his mine and didnt want my business and he yell. Great place but not coming back ever again and we are remodeling 3 bathroom and he lost business. I recommend avoiding this place if you return alot because they dont like it at all

Fair prices, excellent customer service and hard to find items. Had to upgrade the facet per city of Chicago ordinance. I love the original claw foot tubs. Algor had the exact part I needed. Thanks come here for all your plumbing needs. Excellent floor room and some discount items are thought. Nice friendly staff

Horrible social responsibility. Tried to place an order over the phone for several shower surrounds for a multi family unit Im remodeling. They do not take phone orders, and said because of Covid all orders have to be placed in store. Seriously?!?! That is the reason they should be equipped to take phone orders. Forcing people to come into a public place, and be in contact with people who are obviously not taking this pandemic seriously, while numbers are at a new high is unethical. As a nurse, this infuriates me. I prefer to shop small stores, but not if this is their attitude.Editing to add that if you are looking for a Maxx Utile surround, Menards is more than happy to take a phone or online order.

Great prices and customer service! The sales staff are very knowledgeable and helped us with all our design elements for two bathroom renovations. Cannot say enough about the outstanding service, products and pricing. We had a problem with a damaged product and they immediately took care of replacing the parts with no hesitation. Algor Plumbing is the best and I will be a returning customer.

Only been here 2 times for small repairs, but the guys there are WAY better than the big box stores. Both times I went in with questions and photos of what I was trying to do (my plumbing skills are limited) and both times the guys at the counter were like, boom, you need this. On my second trip I was looking to buy cartridges for my bathroom faucet and the guy at the counter says, no, here this is what you really need and sold me a couple of springs with rubber seals for 2 bucks and he was right. I will absolutely continue to go here.

Very good quality products lot better than your average stuff found at the big hardware stores. These people know their plumbing stuff!! Very helpful and not pressure on what to buy.

Cant get to talk to the salesman who needs to authorize a credit for returned goods. Counter staff was friendly and as helpful as they were allowed to be. This was my second visit about this issue.

Awesome place. My furnace broke down last week and I couldnt find the part I needed anywhere, even online, until I called Algor. Their price seemed a little expensive but their staff was extremely helpful and they helped me get the furnace back up and running. Would definitely do business with them again.

Working with Bernie to buy a toilet, tub, faucets, and everything else you would need for a bathroom was a first for me, I have never remodeled anything. My brothers and I chipped in to remodel my parents master bath and all of us were nervous at first given our inexperience. Im somewhat of a negotiator, so my siblings deferred to me to do the buying and what looked to be a daunting task, was one of the easiest shopping experiences I have ever had. Now that I know what I should be looking for (Im not quite a veteran, but am certainly far from a novice) I have since seen the exact same products we selected for a higher price at a place in the city down the street from my condo on Lincoln.I cant wait to take advantage of my new found knowledge later this year when Ill be back for a new bathroom of my own. Provided my equity loan gets approved :)

My wife and I bought a Bertch Vanity from Algor for our first floor powder room. The vanity is beautiful and Bernadeta was wonderful to work with. She guided us through the entire process and helped us choose the perfect vanity for our home. I will be going back to Algor for all my home remodeling needs. I recommend them to you as well.

Algor Plumbing was very nice and fast service to all are questioned today .

I came in after calling to confirm they had a furnace ignitor for an older furnace. They were the only place in the area that had the ignitor, and really the only place open past 6PM. The guys were really helpful and informative, especially when I came back to the store after asking why the ignitor didnt have the correct connector.After a forehead smacking moment, the guys showed me the ropes in stripping and fastening my existing connector to the ignitor. Overall, the guys at Algor were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in helping me with my quick furnace repair.

I’m not a professional but they have always been respectful and helpful when I needed to figure out how to fix plumbing or heating in my home.
