Delicious ice cream with various flavors & selections of candies & cakes...

Just a GREAT dessert place and sooooooo many options!The inside is super cute and everywhere you look has just a bunch of sweets!I had gelato and I had the macarons. I had the birthday cake gelato and the blueberry and lemon gelato mixed together and they were amazing! The two in combination made for a sweet and tart flavor profile! The macarons were cooked to perfection, crispy but soft shells with just great filings.10/10 place, you should certainly check it out!

The girls working were super educated, friendly and helpful however I ordered a coffee w/ two double shot espresso, and what I got was not tasteful and had lots of coffee grounds in it. I’m not one to complain but to spend almost 8 dollars on a coffee, my hope is that it will be very good but most importantly, drinkable. I had to pour it out. I will definitely be coming back to this establishment because the gelato and other goodies are so worth it! My reason for writing is to make other coffee drinkers aware.

Found this place today after eating at Zips Cafe. Everything looked yummy! However, the young lady working was not very welcoming. Asked her a couple of questions, simple ones really. Her response was I dont know with the impression that she was supposed to know. I gave her a tip & not even a thank you. I was actually debating whether I should or not since shes not been very helpful nor attentive. I did anyway. However....the gelato was excellent!!! It was the first time my husband ever tried! I am all about hospitality, attentivenesss & giving a 110% of what you do. It gives others supporting your business that this is worth my money, my time of enjoyment. It is worth it! However, if you have a negative employee...I rather not use that time because I want to spend the time & money that gives me the awesome experience. I dont think its too much to ask. Great gelato but not enough to feel like youre not welcome here.

Update: aka Sweet Hunter with new owner and no crepes but gelato to die for. My personal favorite is the Lemon Basil sorbet. Step inside this unassuming Mt. Lookout eatery and you will culinary transport yourself to Europe with their crepes, macaroons, and gelato. It is a no-lose proposition. Eat in or carry out. Either way you will enjoy.

A great place for gelato and crepes. I went there after lunch for a crepe. It was made right in front of us with locally sourced fresh fruits. The taste was good and the service was great. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.

Buona Terra is my favorite place to stop for gelato in all of Cincinnati! They have a wide variety of flavors; every one that Ive tried is absolutely delicious! Their portions are great and you definitely get your moneys worth. They have very tasty macarons as well!

My daughter and I went to Buona Terra today. (Just left). It was our first time in a while. We entered the two caucasion girls working did nit say Hello. We took our time looking at all the New Treats that were added, the last time we came there were no exta treats. Im not sure if we were taking long looking, the girl be hind the counter then asked can I help you. I told her we were looking at the new items on the shelf. Then my daughter order her one scoop of gelato on a wffle cone and I knew it would be $5 but was shocked they reduced the size of the scoops. Very small. Then the sizes last year. But not worth $5. I also like the two caucasion guys that were there last year. Im not sure if we were treated like this because we are african American . but not worth it

It was my first time coming here and I absolutely loved the pistachio gelato! I highly recommend because you could taste the pistachio, not like other places that mute the flavor. The inside was quite small and full the day we went, so we didnt sit in, but we walked outside to a nearby bench.I like the atmosphere of the place, I thought it was very cute and cozy. Its a good place to bring a friend and to have coffee dates.The price was a little higher, but if youre willing to have good gelato, it was worth it! We got the strawberry and pistachio gelato! I didnt get to try anything else, but I would come back!

Stopped in today and had a delicious summer time crepe with lemon curd and fresh berries. Quick service in a cute shop on Mt Lookout square. I want to go back already for gelato and macarons!

I first heard about Buona Terra at the Taste of Cincy. It is hands down the best gelato you can find in Cincinnati. I am from Houston, where there is some of the best, most authentic gelato, and I can attest that this is right on par. Forget those nasty, powder based gelato places. The crepes, similar to that of sweet Paris. The best part is that they really load up your cup with Gelato here so you get the perfect amount.

Its a small & nice gelato store where has variety gelato in Hyde Park. The small size is pretty for filling then you can choose two different gelatos.

Very elegant and welcoming spot. They serve large meals and for reasonable rates. We liked the meals a lot and the waiters were super affable and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this place.

Really a great find! Im gluten free and Its so hard to find any good GF ice cream around Cincy!! Im also Italian & French and this place made my day. Super authentic, clean, amazingly good with an array of flavors! Also loved how knowledgeable the staff was!!

The crepes and espresso drinks are very good here. They also have a rotating vegan gelato option (the peanut butter is really good). The staff is friendly too.

A hidden gem in Cincinnati! The gelato is excellent, the prices are great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They let us sample as many flavors as we wanted (even encouraged it!). We will definitely be coming back soon!

My spouse and I had Buona Terra cater our wedding 3 years ago, and they were a huge hit! We got so many compliments from our guests-- they had never seen a gelato cart at a wedding before! It was a pleasure working with them to customize our flavors, and they tweaked some of their recipes to allow us to offer some vegan options, as some of our guests were vegan. Very reasonable pricing, delightful service, and delicious flavors. Thank you!

I ordered a 12 inch gluten free cake for a work event. Of course I was anxious to please my work crowd and had never ordered anything from Buona Terra. The cake was ready at pick-up time and decorated just as I requested. It looked delicious as it was being cut up, with the yellow cake and chocolate filling in perfect layers. It was a delicious and fabulous cake! Co-workers raved! Thank you for a perfect cake which made our event even more special!

The crepes were great, I had the Summer Time. The employees were so nice and the restaurant was very clean. The food was also reasonably priced. Great place to eat!

I tried this place for the first time the other week and loved it. Its located on Delta Ave with a few other nice restaurants around it, but this is the only dessert place I saw. I had a gelato and bought a macaroon for later. They were both excellent. I plan to come back and try the crepes that they make.

My sister-in-law, son, and I had such a wonderful time at this adorable little shop. We just happened on it while we were exploring Mt. Lookout. and I am so happy we did. The crepes are wonderful, the gelato is equally as wonderful (especially the macaroon gelato sandwich), but most importantly, the service was out of this world. We had such a wonderful time chatting with Tracy as she made our crepes and even beyond that. I cannot wait to return!

They have a wide variety of flavors that are all so good. We got a pint of gelato to go as well which was just as good at home as it was in the store. They also make cakes and cupcakes for special occasions that are delicious!

Wow! Ive had gelato in Italy, and this is so close (the closest Ive ever had in the States), I loved it! Drug the family from Fairfield to go down, and everyone agreed it was worth the drive. My only advice is that you better know how to parallel park, and bring a couple quarters if youre there before 6pm on Saturday. And hey, try a crepe - not overwhelmingly sweet, just tasty.

Excellent gelato! This is the real deal. Made exactly as traditional Italian gelato is made. Strawberry basil was interesting. The pistachio and the coconut were fantastic. Extremely friendly staff, comfortable, clean and delicious.

Texture’s a bit soft. Flavors are all too sweet with a strange aftertaste like you get from confectioner’s sugar.

Its a real gelato for sure, NOT ice cream, which is already noteworthy. Tastes are probably a little bit sweeter than Italian standard, but theyre ok. Mango was, I thought, really good. I was expecting the chocolate to be a little bit tastier though!

Buona Terra is a gem! Everything is made from scratch, in-house, with organic ingredients. They keep things interesting by rotating new flavors in (White Chocolate Lavender, anyone?) while keeping their staples like Stracciatella, Cookies n Cream, Salted Caramel... I recommend getting your gelato in a giant macaron or with a shot of espresso poured over it.If youre in the mood for something more hearty, a crepe is definitely a must-try! My favorite is the pesto turkey but they have a robust menu with both sweet and savory crepes.Overall, would definitely recommend! Great for date-nights, families, and anytime youre walking around Mt. Lookout Square.

I am new to the City and LOVE Macarons so I was delighted to learn about Macaron Day, which is a charitable event featuring (you guessed it) macarons from different bakeries around the city. This was a great opportunity for me to try out different bakeries while getting to know the city and of course enjoy my favorite dessert.Buona Terra was my first stop and really could have been my last. Of all the other locations who participated in Macaron Day, Buona Terra was hands down the best! Their flavors were on point, the cookie was fresh, crisp on the outside yet chewy on the inside. They were perfectly baked (There were no holes on the inside or a crumbly shell). The cookie was smooth, had a light sheen with perfect feet. It was indeed light and airy and represented the Macaron Day theme of Lighter than Air. Lastly, the filling was just enough and brought a perfect balance of sweetness to this delectable treat .As if that wasnt enough, their shop was clean and fresh, the gelato was attractive and so tantalizing to view that my daughter shrieked with excitement as soon as she saw each mouthwatering flavor. And the service, wonderful, friendly people who define the notion of service with a smile.I realize this review may be over the top especially coming from me, someone who never does reviews. However, that is exactly what I think of Buona Terra, over-the-top in taste, service and overall experience! Thank you for an amazing Macaron Day!

Going to Buona Terra is like taking a trip to Europe. They have three main items that they sell which includes Italian Gelato, French Crepes, and French Macarons. Their design and menu are simple but very high quality. My friends and I love the fact that the staff is amazingly friendly and appear to be very passionate and knowledgeable about their treats. So glad Cincinnati has a gem like this located in the Mt. Lookout/Hyde Park area. They just started serving Italian style coffees, can’t wait to come back for one of those!
