Great selection of good, affordable machines. Love the personal service and that I can go in and try a machine before buying it. This helps me know if this machine feels right or wrong for me and my skill level. After you buy a machine, they also allow you to set up a one on one class to learn, master your machine and it’s settings. You may pay more than a big box sewing machine but you can’t try them before buying and sales are usually final and there’s a difference. I have both which is what led me into sewing authority. Highly recommend them. Any question I have about my machine they have nicely and promptly answered. My master class session with Bev was invaluable and eased my starting to sew again fears. Bev went through all 7 presser feet included with my machine and most of the stitches. She not only spoke about them but had me doing the hands on work. It was a one on one session so I could ask all the questions I wanted and she made sure I was comfortable before I left. She even went through cleaning and oiling my machine and changing the needle and how often. Prices at the store were better than or the same as online for machines. They also sell quality fabric, thread and sewing tools at compatible prices as the local craft store or online.

Everything went great. We came in, he found my bag on line for me ordered it. Called me when it was in. I was very happy. Until I got there to pick it up . The 2 employees had no idea where my order was. There was nothing they had with my name on it. I waited while they looked 1 employee brought out several bags. I told her it was for a canister vac. She asked the #, I had no idea. I wasnt given anything for proof of my order. She showed me one that had a picture that resembled my vac. I paid for it and left. Unsure if I was gonna have to bring it back. I was desperate for the bag, I waited so long for it. Or I would have just left empty handed. But I had traveled from Milltown IN to get it.

Anybody with vacuum issues/problems should go here, they are very helpful with fixing your vacuum or giving advice. They take customer service seriously! The material selection is great to, can’t wait for them to expand the store to stock more beautiful material!

Vacuum Authority at Clarksville Indiana has the best vacuums, sewing machines, and friendliest staff. I have been coming to this store for 22yrs because the price is right and the outstanding. James is most loyal and the new addition to the staff, Sam is a great instructor. I will keep telling my friends how great this store and continue coming back.

My wife took an old heirloom Singer in for repair. She paid the $49 minimum and waited. The repair shop called her and told her the repair would be at least $350 in parts alone, so my wife said, No thanks, and asked the shop to send her machine back to the store for pick up.When she got the call that her machine was ready to be picked up, the guy at S&VA told her he would give her $50 dollars for her old Singer plus apply the $49 service fee on a new machine. He said she could get one for around $200! She told him she would consider it.When she got to the store, shockingly, the only models he had available were around $600. My wife declined to buy and took her machine and left.While talking to a clerk at Ben Franklin, my wife explained what had happened. The clerk asked her to bring it in, so she did. Turns out, all her machine needed was a timing adjustment and for the another $89 service fee, she now has a working sewing machine.S&VA is Ripoff City! Sometimes when you set out to support the little guy, you get treated like the little guy. Avoid this business!

I would rate half star or less if it were possible.I approached Mr Dunn (the manager)with an antique Hoover vacuum that dated back to the early 1950’s and asked him if he knew of anyone who would be interested in purchasing it as a collector item, and asked him what he thought it could be worth. He said it was really cool and he’d never seen one like it before. He said you never know, but possibly $100-300 just depending. It worked like new, and even had attachments, and was all original. He said i can put it on display as a conversation piece and we’ll see what happens. He took my name and number, and wrote them on a small white description tag and hung it by the string around the vacuum handle. I told him id check back now n then to see if any news or he could just call me. I checked back every few months or so by calling, and even stopped in person once, and at that time he had said we’ll keep trying. But a couple years had gone by and never heard of any bites so i just decided to go pick it up. I went to the store and after telling him who i was he seemed to get a bit jumpy and agitated, telling me he hadnt heard from me in over a year(wrong). So he proceeds to tell me he’s expanded the store and i noticed i hadn’t seen the vacuum on display anywhere. He then proceeds to tell me (as he’s walking into the back room hurriedly acting like he’s still looking) that “I bet it got thrown away”! I was like “WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT”??? He said i bet it got tossed during the expansion. He said he hadn’t heard from me in sooo long. He then asks for my name n number again, and says he will call Corporate to see if they have it (?????) lol. I asked him why HE NEVER ONCE TOLD ME when i called, or why he didnt JUST CALL ME and say come get it, i cant do you any good. Im only 10 mins from the store and couldve easily just come and picked it up, and said thanks for trying. NOPE, NOTHING!!! NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY !!!!!! THAT IS A JOKE! He didn’t offer me ANYTHING for my loss that was HIS fault. I realize he was doing me a favor, and i had originally offered to give him 50% of what he sold it for. I think that was gonna be fair. Plus he had it as the conversation piece too. Nothing huge, but a piece of nostalgia to talk about with customers. Anyway i think he did me pretty wrong and i wanted people to know this before they patronize him. THATS the kind of man your dealing with running this store!! SAD business practice if you ask me. And from other post i saw im not the only one highly disappointed in this place!Don

We have bought two Miele sweepers there, James has treated us very well anytime we’ve been there. We also have bought two air purifiers. The last one we bought we didn’t know anything about it but James was very knowledgeable about it and answered all of our questions, the same with the sweeper! He was not pushy at all and never has been, he’s very respectable and knows what he is doing. Thank you so much James for the awesome customer service, that means so much!

I stopped in this store and boy was it a great experience!! My vacuum is so old that you cant get official parts for it and I had to find a replacement electric hose assembly online at Ebay, which I did. So helpful!! THIS is my vacuum repair store from now on (I have 3) and my go to shop to buy a new one, should the occasion arise!! Do business with these people!! The service is top notch!

I highly recommend this business..I called and came to them with a vacuum that I didnt even purchase there. Both I and James knew it was likely unrepairable and was bought brand new..Long story short, he went so as far to give me one used of his own in stock that works very well. Sold quitting Bernina machine to my wife, it was floor unit with the sale special with attachments, chair and finance that was supposed to be 72 months it turn out it was 48 months, all purchases over $5,000 is 72 months. Also it was back in December 2019 and did months of calling and visiting with just double talk from them, had to go to the district rep for all. Witht his last visit they gave her another box and stated this is the last thing you get, I will recommend them to anyone

I visited the Vacuum Authority this week for the first time. My mother and I were greeted by a very nice young man who was helping another customer. He told us hed be with us soon. He made an excellent first impression on us. I do believe he is a tech and salesman. He was very knowledgeable about the vacuum he was presenting to the other customer.My mother needed a new belt for her old vac, this young man was very nice,found just what we needed, signed us up for email, told to call them any time, check on products. My mom asked him a generic question about a new vac, and he was very helpful. The store manager was also there assisting with another customer and he even suggested a store special.All around excellent customer service, which is rare to find these days.Thanks!!

I took my upright Miele vacuum into the store on Saturday. James immediately started work on it (low suction due to unknown obstruction) and was able to find the issue in less than 10 minutes. I was not charged for the service which was amazing. Conducting business in such a way is a great way to earn repeat customers! Thanks again and when needed, I will be back!

I put in an order for Hoover filters, and was told they would arrive within a week. A week later they werent there and was told it would be another week. Another week went by and they werent there.I dont think the order had even been logged. By this time we were into the third week of December. So, it seemed best to wait until after the holidays to bring further frustration upon myself by checking in yet again.At the beginning of the second week of January I phoned and got an associate. He said hed check and call me back. Well, he never called back. Finally, I got ahold of someone who checked and found that the filters had arrived -- the middle of January.It was like dealing keystone cops for a month and a half. Folks shouldnt say they going to do something and then not do it. Ill do my best to steer clear of this place in the future.

Weve had problems with our Dyson and he stands by the product, repairs it without question, and fights with Dyson to make sure that the company stands by its product. Hes bent over backwards for us and were very appreciative.

Just went there hoping they could repair my Dyson, and the guy there (Didnt get his name - but lots of tattoos) was very nice and helpful and he actually had the part in stock that I needed, so I was in and out in about 10 minutes at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Thank you for the super friendly lady at the front desk who helped me find a drive belt for my vacuum cleaner which I could not source anywhere. And thank you to technician Derek who fitted the belt at no charge when I returned to the store because could not figure out how to fit the drive belt.

My wife talked me into going into this store with her. She wanted a Kirby and I was against it because they are stupid expensive. I have had run-ins with a Kirby door to door salesperson before and they wanted to sell me a vacuum cleaner for $2000! Anyway, the wife makes more money than I do so it was her call in the end but I was NOT looking forward to this experience.Let me start by saying how much I hate sales people. I really shouldnt have to; I mean, does anyone like them? I cant read a piece of literature without one breathing down my neck telling about all these unnecessary bells and whistles.To my delight, the experience here was different. We were greeted warmly when we walked in the door and the sales person (Marissa) just let us know that she was there for us if we needed her. The entire time my wife was looking at a Kirby and some of its competition I was expecting Marissa to pop up on us like a ninja and start with the bells and whistles but she never did.I think I accidentally signaled her over by looking up to see where she was at too many times. I dont like sales people sneaking up on me. In hindsight, I think she assumed we had questions because I kept looking her way. Right about that time Marissa timidly walked over to us and asked us if we had any questions. I immediately dismissed her because, again, I hate salespeople. I may have even been a bit rude. She wasnt phased though and she said, Let me ask you a question. What are you going to use the vacuum cleaner for?With quite an attitude towards seemingly stupid questions I responded with Vacuuming as if there is anything else a vacuum cleaner could be used for. I fell right into her trap...She then quite cheerfully followed up with Well of course, but do you have any kids? Do you have pets? Do you live in the city or a more rural area? is this for commercial or business use? and other such questions that I have never even considered. She provided sound examples of why all of this stuff mattered and educated us about anything we were curious about.I never knew that there was such science behind vacuum cleaners but, people, I am here to tell you that there is; and Marissa is not a ninja, she is the Albert Einstein of Vacuum Cleaners.She may be the Walter White of vacuum cleaners because before I knew what happened we were happily walking out of this store with one that fit our specific needs precisely (not a Kirby BTW), enough bags to keep us going for a year and a high quality air purifier that I was excited about plugging in all for a fraction of the price that the Kirby door to door sales person was asking for. I didnt even know I wanted an air purifier but it is awesome! I plan on going back there in the winter to get my wife a space heater for Christmas and I am getting more of those purifiers.Bottom line, if your wife is about to spend a bunch of money on a Kirby, take her to see Marissa and let things work themselves out. I never expected such a great experience at a vacuum cleaner store. Who would? We must have come in at a good time too because we got it all so cheap I thought she might get in trouble for it.Marissa, sorry if I was snarky with you but you handled it like a champ and have shown me the light :) Thanks for everything.This right here is how you get repeat business! Other retailers need to pay attention!

I have went to the store on Eatern Blvd. Since I started my cleaning service. Marrisa was fantastic. Very professional and knew what she was talking about. Since here retirement I am not sure I will continue business there. The man now waitubg on customers makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. I dont know if anyone else has felt this way. He doesnt seem to know what he is doing and very scattered brained.

Dropped our Oreck canister vac off 2/13. The cord had become wedged between the pulley and the top of the housing inside the vac and could not be pulled or retracted. I used those words when telling them the problem. I was told we would be called 2/15 or 2/16 with an estimate.Wife called 2/20 because they failed to honor their commitment and we had not heard from them. They told her that it cannot be repaired because Oreck no longer made the part in question. She asked if that meant a vacuum that cost over $100 was disposable and they replied yes.She picked up the vacuum and brought it home - I was livid because there were NO BROKEN PARTS. The exact issue had been described to them when the unit was dropped off on 2/13, thus the excuse that parts were no longer being made was a ruse.I took the vac to them because I could not figure out how to remove a wheel needed to take it apart. Because they were incompetent, I risked it and took the vacuum apart. I had the cord extending and retracting properly within 15 minutes - all I had to do was to put the cord back onto the pulley.I question whether the parts replaced on other vacuums taken there were really needed too. Seems to me their tech doesnt know what he is doing, or he is paid on commission as he is attempting to replace parts that are not broken.Dan DeWilde

Buyer beware! They serviced my vacuum cleaner for the last 2 years keeping it well over 4 or 5 weeks. The manager told me my vacuum cleaner only came with a 1 yr warranty so I had to find my warranty to prove that it came with a 5yr service agreement. Another manager that was filling in for her when I picked it up told me my vacuum came with a 5 yr warranty and was unsure why she told me that. Overall poor customer service would not recommend it.
