We Enjoyed ourselves!! Pictures with Santa are free & you can actually sit on his lap. So glad I was able to capture a memory of my son on santas lap. We will definitely be back next year & Im telling everyone to check this place out!! Great Job!!
Usually my family adores Lights on the Neuse. We went this past Sunday and as usual, the lights were gorgeous. My 22 month old daughter loved them! BUT...in the Covid world we live in, I was very upset to see NO one who works there enforcing mask or social distancing rules. There was a group in front of us with kids around 5 or 6 with NO masks on. No one said a word to them about it. We sat as far away as we could on the ride from them. Santa was actually sitting with the kids in the sleigh, NO MASK, when it states that you would not be allowed to sit with Santa due to social distancing. Needless to say, we skipped the free Santa photo. I am glad I took hand sanitizer and we wore our masks the whole time we were there!
We took our two nine year old sisters and our mom and we had an awesome time! The girls loved it and the music was really clear too and timed well with the show.
Cold, fun for the family, and safe! Beautiful lights and just the right amount of time.
Loved it. the ride through the lights was excellent. I highly recommend it.
The show was great. I like how the lights come on when you actually ride by them. Customer service was great as well. The staff were very engaging with the kids. We actually lost our ticket to decorate the gingerbread cookies in the hayride, but the nice lady at the ticket booth was kind enough to give us another with no charge. Definitely recommend, a great time with the family!
Great show. Great people. Loved it!
They lights were very nice and the staff was awesome!
Wonderful fun. Really enjoyed making smores with the big fire pits after seeing the lights too.
An exciting experience.
Awesome family fun.
I would have rated it more but there was NO MUSIC PLAYING during the hayride 😭😭😭
The atmosphere was cute, but the hayride should not have been $9/person. We have a family of 5 and $45 for a 20 min hayride was a waste for a few lights. There was nothing else there to do unless you wanted to pay more money to roast smores or buy hot chocolate. I would say $3/person would be more accurate.
Went last year and absolutely loved it. Going with our church group this year! This isnt anything fancy, but it is a different light show than the average! I would recommend to anyone!
This was our first time visiting The Lights on the Neuse and it was more than I had expected. My daughter, 5.5 yrs old, said AWESOME at one point during the ride. The snow was a nice surprise, the tour through the woods is just what this area represents and the finale was magical. The 3-D tour was very beautiful. The fire pit and opportunity to roast marshmellows is a great ending.Bring a blanket for yourself and the kiddos, it gets quite cold through the woods.
The Lights were nice but not the best the place for kids not enough to do I dont think it was worth the 32 bucks we spent plus we waited about a hour for maybe 25 min ride maybe add a few more things next year. Its good for couples date type but family not so much.
The idea of this is great, but the execution was not. Each segment of the tour is on some kind of sensor. We were sitting near the back of the trailer, and the lights would turn off before we got to see them fully. Music played on the tractor, but it was not loud enough to hear at the back of the trailer. Not worth $10 per person, in my opinion.
Our family Christmas tradition! Love it! We enjoy it so much.
Okay not much to do or see other than short hayride. I would go to one of the others in area. Better atmosphere, more candy, food options.
We arrived at 6:30 and left at 8 pm. Buy your tickets online before you go, wear warm clothes because you’re standing in line for a WHILE and take a blanket for the hayride. Total ride lasted fifteen minutes BUT my five year old son loved it so it’s worth it. They play music on the hayride and he sang along to the Christmas carols. The lights are on timers so you don’t actually see the lights until you pass through which isn’t quite as magical but I guess they are keeping their electrical bill down this way. So for our family we paid $9 per person, with tax a total of $30. They charge an additional $8 for you to sit with Santa and take a picture with YOUR phone.
The hayride was appropriate length, but the lights are pretty amateur, minus a couple sections which are ok. Long wait. Would not drive more than 10 minutes to get here.
Good way to start the Christmas season and spend some good times with the family.Make sure you bring a warm coat.
This place is hysterical! It is so corny my family has decided to go every other year just for a good laugh. The hayride with the blowing snow was classic. If you want a good laugh..a great laugh...go. If you are looking for a serious Christmas lights show...find a great neighborhood, put your kids in a wagon and pull them around. Theyll probably have more fun!
Went here with some friends a few days ago. The overall ride is advertised as 30 minutes long but it felt somewhat short. The lights are pretty, and it was an overall good experience. But for $9 the ride could have been a little longer.
Waited an hour to get on the hayride which we thought was adequate for the Saturday night the week before Christmas. Once we got on and started going, random lights in the woods is all you see. No rhyme or reason to the light. No music on the ride, just the constant hum of the tractor. 30 minute ride in the cold just looking at bright, blinking random lights hung up on trees in the woods. Kind of looked like this was put together over a weekend. Wouldnt recommend spending the money unless you enjoy disorganization and randomness.
We had a good time but beware that it’s CASH ONLY this year (ride is $9 per person over 3 y.o.).
Great night for a cup of hot coffee and a Hay Ride. Clear skies, stars out and 39 degrees here in Clayton NC. Light Show was great and Bon Fire and roasting marshmallows was even better.
Get price for an enjoyable time!
We were visiting from Vermont and this was a great evening of fun for our family!
My family and I visited Lights on the Neuse in Dec 2013, and I must say that this experience was not even CLOSE to how exciting they made it seem in the advertisements on tv and online!! My family and I think that it was a waste of time. The 3D house was cheezy and as far as the lights, I couldve rode in my car through a neighborhood and saw better lights than these, and wouldnt have to pay $10 bucks for it!! I was very disappointed!! And they call that a candy store?? They didnt have a lot of variety of candy at all. And I could not believe I paid $5 for a photo that I didnt even get. The man gave me a card with a code on it and said I had to go online to retrieve my photo. At least Meadow Lights give you the photo right on the spot and you dont have to go through the inconvenience of going online and getting it yourself. I know where Ill be going from now on, and it definitely wont be Lights on the Neuse! I dont mean to bash this place like this, but I think it needs major improvement!
Best fear farm ever
Went for the haunted farm and it was fun
Is it tv show horse and carrage thru snowy streets, no. Is it fun, yes. Worth the price of admission, yes. Great way to spend an hour with a date or family outing. Nice people! Wear warm clothes!!! Have fun.
Lights on the news it was all right if youre looking for Christmas lights thats the place to go but I still no other place is better
Took my 2 year old and 4 year old, The lights were ok for the first 2 min. the the execution was terrible. As others stated the lights cut off way too quick We were in the front and could barley show the children any more than one decoration before they turned off. We bought the Santa picture package which was an additional $5, this is what really ticked me off. they give you a ticket take your pic (mediocre photography at best) then tell you you can get them next day. Well you have to pay additional fees, you cant even save a digitial print to your computer. so what the heck did we pay the extra $5 for???? So the total night was about $50 for 4 people, including refreshments and candy. I did not realize it was an elaborate set up to pay the farm workers wages and fill gas tanks. I will NEVER recommend or return. I have 4 children 1 on the way. Last year we drove to Benson to Medow lights. spent about $20 extra bucks in gas. BUT SO WORTH THE DRIVE. comparatively speaking my experience in clayton was like an overpriced nightmare. Even my kids got board with the lack of activity on the hayride!!! Lucky the Santa photo charge happened the next day because I would have blown a gasket at that point.
Will worth the trip. We try to go every year!
Not worth $9 per person maybe for $9 a carload it would be ok.
Kids were delighted!
Better then the medows for sure
Fun time during holiday
Family gathering every year
Not enough displays for the cost.
Its ok
Meh, going down hill
Long wait
