These guys are great!! Sometimes they are out of menu items, sometimes their service is slow, but I just keep going back! Food is awesome and staff is friendly. Drive up is convenient. I like knowing they are a local business and hope to see them continue to grow. You can find their donuts at some of the local gas station and they have another cafe location at Station Park in Farmington.
My last 2 visits have not been pleasant. I was charged for a latte, sat and waited for them to make it and then was told they didnt have what they needed so I had to get a refund. No apology, no discount on my donuts, nothing.Today I went again fit a sandwich I was told they dont make that sandwich any more with no apology, suggestion for another item, just a blank stare from the employee. Your employees need better training. I love your donuts but not that much!
They have good donuts, but they are almost always running low/sold out. Ive gone at, or before, 9 am the last several times and they have had almost nothing to choose from. Also their soda machine has been broken for months. They have good customer service, but we usually end up just going to Johnny-Os because they seem to always have a good selection of donuts.
The donuts were 5/10. Sub par at best. What really was the worst thing was their wild berry smoothie. All it is is a cup of ice, a scoop of purée, and a lb of whip cream on top. I took two swigs and threw it out. Huge ice chunks. Just horrible. Never going back here again.
Local donut company. Go early or there wont be as much to choose from. Their breakfasts are so good especially the biscuits and gravy. There is a nice area to eat with free wifi. Clean restrooms and handicap accessible.
Friendly service, great donuts (cool triangular shape) that are always fresh in a wide variety of types, and good breakfast food (fresh to order breakfast burritos, Coffey, etc). Great place to stop in the morning. Note that they do close early, though, so they arent available after work.
Pure deliciousness. These donuts are just special! Our favorite place for sure. Wish they werent quite so much money, but you do get beautiful quality donuts. Definitely turns an ordinary day into something special
These guys have a fritter that seriously is 1 foot wide and a foot-and-a-half long. How can any place that serves this be bad? The staff there is young and eager to help out and will offer suggestions if you ask. The store hours are about consistent with a regular donut shop. Im told they also serve sandwiches, drinks, weird little Fufu Foods, and maybe even trinkets. But seriously, who goes into this place for anything but fantastic Donuts?
Heres the thing. When prices go up and they run out of your favorite donut when you get there, its safe to say that their donuts are in high demand. This is because they are amazing! I have found them to be the best donuts in the area. I am willing to pay a little more for an excellent product and to keep a local business alive.
Love the donuts (especially the fritters), but its the exception rather than the rule that the staff are friendly. Just went in today, and the girls were in no way shape or form polite or nice. We were the only customers, no one behind us, no reason for the brush off. If you dont like working with people, dont.
Third time was not a charm... we are from out of town, have visited 2 previous times. The quality of the donuts and sandwiches both previous times had been good. This trip however, something went wrong. The servers were not organized, what I thought was a light crowd, maybe 4 other folks. It took over 20 minutes to fill my order, which consisted of 6 donuts and 1 egg bagel sandwich! About 10 minutes into my wait, the young lady said, we dont have bagels today... so I switched to the croissant sandwich... I will chalk it up to a bad day...
Delicious selection. Staff were pleasant despite the very early hour and made some nice recommendations. Everyone at work enjoyed the treats.
Have given this place many chances but they have never impressme. The service is generally pretty poor, I never feel welcome and the staff and food move very slow. The atmosphere is alright, but there are plenty of other upbeat, good vibe restaurants around this same area of Layton. The donuts are maybe the only thing they have going for this location. Other than that their sandwiches and burgers are nothing to write home about. Ive decided once and for all that I will not be going back to this place.
Heard good things about the Mad Brook Donut Co. so I decided to visit their shop located just off Antelope Rd in Clearfield on National Donut Day. Place was deserted...had to wait 5 minutes for someone to come out of the kitchen. Display case was completely empty. Zero donuts available for sale. For them to not have any available for sale during normal business hours--especially on National Donut Day--was particularly disappointing. And to have to shout for someone to come out of the kitchen to receive attention was very frustrating. Doubt Ill go back.
Ordered 4 sandwiches, bread was good but they put a thin slice of ham on each side of a $10 sandwich. Maybe and ounce & a half of meat. Not close to worth it. I have been coming here for years but they seem to be going down hill. Bummer!
Donut shop that is constantly out of donuts and coffee. I get its a little later in the day but really? How do you always run out of coffee and donuts?! They should copy dunkin donuts approach and change their name to just badbrook. Another family came in behind us and were also looking for donuts. They recommend to go to maverick to find their donuts. You cant keep your stores stocked up but want to branch out to put donuts elsewhere. What a joke.
My mom, brother and I woke up this morning exhausted from a rough day yesterday and we were in need of comfort food. We havent been to Mad Brook donuts in over a year. So we went in expecting fresh large donuts. Instead we got small day old donuts and the apple fritter didnt even have apples in it. It was such a disappointment that this would be the last time we go to Mad Brook Donut Co. They deserve less than one star!
Omg they take forever at the drive up, I been holding for almost 10 minutes and they can’t get the car ahead of me. I’m going to be next and by the tim I’m done it will be 20 minutes I don’t have that much time to spend I have places to go and the reason of the drive up is to make it faster for all of us. I love coming here but this type of situation will stop me from keep coming.
My coworker and I have a tradition to get donuts here since they are so amazing. Their best donut is the apple fritter, and they have one thats bigger than your head. Great price too.
The place was fairly empty yet for some reason we waited 27 minuets for a sandwich and a bowl of soup. I tried to be empathetic, I worked in fast food the entire time I was in high school. When the food finally came out, the staff handed us the bags and mumbled sorry. My order wasnt even correct and it didnt seem like they really cared. I ended up getting a refund because I did not want to wait another 27 minutes for them to remake my sandwich correctly. Im really disappointed.
My daughter loves this place but, every time weve gone in, i have to remind the people working to stop touching the food with gloves theyve been touching money with. Im sorry but thats nasty!! Please remind your employees how dirty money is. thanks
Yummy donuts but I have gone multiple times and they are COMPLETELY sold out of donuts. They should adjust the amount they make with holidays, end of school year, graduation!
Sadly, this place has gone way down hill. Their donuts are now frozen and not fresh every morning because their bakery is now located in another city not central to any of their locations. Their management has plummeted in its operations and cant even keep employees. Any good manager knows that if they treat their staff good their profits will follow. If they are choosing to fire their employees they should really look into theirselves to see where the issue really lies. I would love to give this place my business since it is one of the last little shops of its kind, but the management just doesnt deserve it.
I found out about Madbrook a while back when I was working all around Davis County and had always loved it. The other day when my wife wanted a good sandwich and we went to Quiznoes and their ovens were broken I suggested we go to Madbrook. My wife was skeptical at first but when we got there and got our food she loved it! We got there just before closing as well and the girls that were working were still happy to help. Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices and much better than competitor sandwich chains!
Their style of donut is not my favorite. I have also been there in the afternoon and the donuts are gone. The donuts are fresh, but the donuts are dry and lack moisture. Disappointed because I wasnt too like them. We have tried them 4 times.
The value was good, fast food prices for much nicer food. The donut was fresh and delicious. The menu was hard to read where it is placed on the wall in the drive thru. I had a breakfast bagel which was seasoned nicely and yummy. I didnt really like the sausage but not because they prepared it poorly, just because I didnt like the texture. The service was great and fast and friendly.
These aren’t bad donuts. They weren’t our first choice today, but our kids were frustrated and done being in the car. We got unloaded, headed inside, and found long empty cases. At first we thought maybe they were closed because there weren’t any employees to be found. Finally one came out and informed us that Mad Brook Donut Co was out of donuts. It was a little late in the morning, but a donut shop running out of donuts seems a little ridiculous to me. We loaded our crying kids back in the car and drove to Krispy Kreme.
Best donuts around! They have really good sandwiches, and I really like there bread.
Its unfortunate that these folks no longer produce their donuts onsite, but have them delivered from another location. The selection is completely dependent on how your visit to the shop is timed to the daily donut delivery. There may be truth to other reviews claiming that the donuts are now frozen and served thawed. Lack of consistency in the quality of the donuts is an issue.
Always good but come early sometimes, all the good ones are gone.
In a world of chains and franchises its comforting to find a local bakery where quality and creativity still exist.Great, fresh baked donuts served by friendly staff.
Great donuts and plenty of other options if you want something a bit heartier fight breakfast. Coffee is advertised as great, but its meh at best.
Great local business. Family always looks forward to a treat from Madbrook. Giant fritters are awesome and can feed a few bodies.
Madbrook is a great Utah original! Quality made donuts, delicious sandwiches, great fries and soup. The kids meal is the best deal around! You get a bit of everything plus a donut. The Crab Avocado sandwich is the best in my opinion.Donuts in order of deliciousness:Fritters- Apple is my fav. They are HUGE! Pillow soft yet squishy at the same time. Lightly coated in icing. Great deal if you get them in a dozen or half dozen box.Blueberry donuts- dense and moist blueberry cake donut with blueberry frosting. Its too DIE for!Custard filled donuts- chocolate frosting, filled with thick vanilla custard.Triangles and bars- essentially the same, puffy, soft donuts with thick delicious frosting on top.My one feedback for management is better employee training. I am usually met with friendly cashiers, but they dont understand the little things to do in customer service to delight customers. Especially at the Farmington station location. A little motivational training would take you to the top!
Great food, drinks, and service. In addition to great donuts (the Crumb donut is bomb) they have tasty breakfast crescent sandwiches.
If youre looking for a delicious donut from a local shop in the area, Madbrook is the top dog. They also have some really good sandwich options for lunch.
The sandwiches and donuts are awesome and very good! Totally recommend it!
Their doughnuts are to die for so yummy & fresh! I havent tried any of ther sandwiches yet but they look yummy and will be trying them soon!
At last....A real doughnut shop. They dont hold anything back here. Big and small, youll love all the choices of delicious fresh doughnuts. I highly recommend the large apple fritter if youre up for the challenge!! I stopped halfway... Great product, Great service. Thank you Mad Brook!!!
Awful service. I rang their drive thru bell 4 times while watching the girl in staff not come to the window. She just continued to sweep. I gave up after waiting 4 minutes. There are better options out there than to deal with that kind of service.
Seriously one of the best donut shops around. Get away from Krispy Kreme and try a donut with some depth in their flavor profiles.
Great food great service. Doughnut s are the best.
My fiancee and I went in to get donuts and we waited over 15 minutes in an empty shop and receiving no service even by the employee sitting up and the front doing interviews (she completely ignored our existence by the way). The entire donut case was empty and the place looked like it was closing down or something, very empty (literally not a single baked good in the case or anything). We were told donuts are becoming popular and theyre sold out.... Youre a donut company make more. If youre completely out of product for the day by 10:30 am you have serious issues within your business! Ive been to madbrooks before but I dont think I will be going again. It was a shock that a donut company literally cant make donuts.Definitely not going to recommend
Triangle pieces of heaven. And tasty sandwiches to boot!
It was hotter than satans lair in this place. There was no regular coffee in the middle of the day, only specialty drinks. No dine-in cups or plates which was a little upsetting to see. Even sitting in the dining room youre given styrofoam cups. In this day and age that just seems a little odd to me. Was the first time here in maybe 8 years and wasnt impressed.
Great sandwiches, their sandwich of the day is usually a good deal, marked down one star because I can never get a maple bar after 11 am.
Decent donuts, but you have to get there early. Ive been there before around 10:00 am and they dont have any donuts worth getting.
I love love love Mad Brook Donuts! They are worth 5 stars! However, they recently won a contract with Maverik gas stations and now they deliver all over Utah. You might think thats a good thing, but now the donuts they deliver are horrible. They freeze their shipments so when Maverik thaws them for the day, they are cold, moist, gooey and all around unpleasant. They bit off more than they can chew. Too sad!
Food is good. Staff unfortunately was unimpressive and didnt seem to care about their performance, made mistakes.
Locally owned business, great service, delicious product. Love coming here with my kids and recommend Mad Brook all the time.
I usually am not one to complain but the service & doughnuts were not the best, ive heard good things about this place so I went & the cashier was on her phone texting, chatting with her co worker while I patiently waited for her to take my order & continued to be a little disrespectful & act like I wasnt there, I ordered a doughnut & it tasted and felt a little stale.
Good donuts for sure but dont ever come here if your in any kind of rush. I brought my kids in for a quick donut one morning before school and waited for at least 20 minutes in line. They had 20 cars at the drivethrough and 20 more in the store. Take it from a guy who also owns and runs a business,,,, hire more people! Hire them now! And have at least 5 workers staffed in the busy times. The average wait time for a donut should be 5 minutes or less.
Service has gone down hill. Food quality has gone down hill. Did not have any doughnuts left at 10:45am. There really is not a reason to go back.
Best Bavarian Cream around! Good selection, good prices.
Amazing doughnut shop, with super cool breakfast burrito and lunch eats as well.
Favorite local donut shop. Love the monster fritter!
Food is great and donuts are awesome. We love this place and would recommend to everyone!
Last time I was here I got the French Dipper. Its heaven in a sandwich. Their mango smoothies are made with the ripest mangos known to mankind. Their donuts are fluffier and softer than any other donut I have put in my mouth. The staff is great, relatively quick service, clean bathrooms.Youre having a bad day and youre hangry? Grab yourself some chai tea and a dozen donuts and turn that frown upside down.5/5Recommends
Good donuts but often runs out of many varieties
My favorite place to get a hot ham and cheese sandwich and their fries are delicious!
Donuts arent bad but I waited 25 minutes plus to get it, along with everyone else. Wont come back.
Donuts were very good, they could use some more variety though.
Donuts are great. Hot sandwiches usually great. AMAZING onion rings.
They always have fresh donuts in the morning
This is my favorite place for doughnuts. Go early in the morning, sometimes the best doughnuts sell out.
I wish I could rate this a 0. If you like the taste of stale bread, then this is the right donut shop for you. I live in Layton and told my little boy we could get donuts today. He was excited of course. We got the donuts home and he couldnt even bite them because of how stale and dry they are. We normally go to Donuts and Deli in SLC. Layton to SLC is a long drive, but its completely worth it. If you think Madbrook Donuts is a good donut, you havent ever had a good donut.
Its frustrating to go to a doughnut shop that is constantly out of doughnuts. Lunch menu is decent. Staff is all a bunch of kids who dont seem to know whats happening. The only reason for 3 stars is the doughnuts can be great and its local.
Always enjoy their donuts :) much better than some of the chain stores that are closer.
We love Madbrooks donuts! My kids always ask for triangle donuts now. I love the crumb donuts. Delish!
Nice open seating and great donuts/breakfast items. A bit expensive though for donuts..
Doughnuts here are great. Service is great!
Donuts good, breakfast sandwiches great, service friendly but slow.
Best donuts in Utah as far as Im concerned.
Food is delicious...but they are always out of glazed donuts by 9am. Get there early
It tasted like Dunkin donuts which to me, isnt really a good thing. Staff when I went, wasnt really welcoming or seemed like they cared much other than talking with each other.
I bought some delicious looking raspberry filled doughnuts. They were not raseberry filled they were raseberry dabbed on top. False advertising #neveragain #notevendollup
Oh the yum. Just make sure you go early their supply is limited and once its gone its gone till the next day. Still sad they no longer have the chocolate covered cinnamon rolls any more though
Food is awesome! Coffee is better! Great place! I love it!
Great donuts. Good sandwiches.
Love the doughnuts, especially the chocolate-peanut butter one, and the hot Italian sandwhich is good
Everytime I go for donuts they are out. 7 am or 10 am everything is gone. Today I waited in the drive thru (I had sleeping kids or would have gone in) for 20 min just to find out they had NO donuts. If you have Donuts in your company name dont you think you should have donuts?
These donuts are excellent. Large and tasty, just how donuts should be.
I love their donuts and their sandwiches so much!!
Ordered food, donut and coffee. Coffee was wrong (ordered iced blended coffee and it came out hot coffee) and they charged me to make the right coffee, when received the iced coffee it was only 3/4 full. The french dip was okay, however the au jus sauce was very thick. I had a combo and my side was soup I got the potato bacon which was obviously previously frozen and separated. The only thing here that was surprisingly good was the onion rings and fry sauce. My son had the donut. The fountain drink was in a styrofoam cup, too large to fit in any cup holder. Trashes were all full. Kept being handed food that wasnt ours. Disappointed all around. My husband wanted me to tell the manager but it was obvious no one there cared considering we dealt with a different person each interaction and every time there was something terribly wrong.
Update: So they have increased their prices twice in two years, which shrinking the size of their donuts. I didnt mind so much because a $1/donuts seems about right. They have increased it again just recently, and, although I love their donuts, they arent the only ones in town. Both Krispy Kreme (not the same donut - I know) and Tastys are $1 for regular donuts and $1.25 - $1.50 for specialty. And on top of that, they have moved to a Darigold-type chocolate milk which is not as good. In any case, Ill still go, just not as often and likely wont get the drink.
Thanks again for screwing up ANOTHER order. Last time I went my coffee was AWFUL. I asked for a decaf and got reg espresso and it was cold and way over flavored. I chalked it up to a bad day. Husband and I went today and got 2 WRONG coffees one of which was luke warm and 2 luke warm sandwiches. I asked for a DECAF vanilla latte and received, a CAPPUCINO that used reg espresso which didnt even come to half way full. My husband ordered a breve and received a caffe au lait. Very disappointed that I had to pay 17$ for this awful experience. Will definitely be sticking to Grounds for Coffee or Daily Rise from now on.
Great donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Also free WiFi.
Great donuts and they offer sandwichs as well.
Amazing one of a kind doughnuts that are made fresh daily.
Expensive. Pay a lot for the name I think. Overall pretty good.
Recommended. Got some Doughnuts and they were gone quick because they were so good. Maybe a little expensive, but still worth it.
The doughnuts are good, the bear claws were amazing.
Been there three times (Clearfield shop) in the last five weeks for a doughnut, they must have changed their recipe on the dough - nasty. Wont be coming back
They have a terrific selection of delicious donuts, sandwiches and drinks
Great food and quick service
Great sandwiches standard doughnuts strange shape though
