My mechanic ordered a cylinder head for ‘03 Honda Civic. He installed it and it the car is running fantastically right now. They shipped it to us and give us instructions to re-turn the core. Everything went well. They have great customer service and will give you a fair amount of time to return the core, and you can call if you need any additional assistance. My mechanic said they don’t go anywhere else but here for their cylinder heads.

So let me start off by saying i was extremely happy with my experience before receiving the product. Upon receiving my cylinder head, I get the box, crack that baby open (was patiently waiting for this to arrive) and the first thing I notice after taking it out of the box, that there’s a big ol chunk from the corner folded over on to the mating surface, and then I look alittle closer and 3 of the 4 corners of the cylinder head are bashed in like someone dropped it repeatedly. Understandable, this isn’t my first rodeo with damaged products. I contact the seller and I’ll admit, pretty upset, basically expressing that I wasn’t not at all pleased and would either like a refund or another cylinder head. I get a reply that doesn’t include anything about how they’re going to fix/make it right. They basically said go take it to a machine shop, it’s not our fault, have a nice day. So now It’s either send it back or go pay someone else to fix it. Now I 100% know that to fix it would probably take an hour and some chump change to get the head resurfaced. But that’s not what I payed for in the first place. All I asked was it to be taken care of and they said “just send it back” after I asked if we could just have them pay the invoice for the head to be resurfaced. Good work and good customer service is hard to come by these days and usually it’s one or the other, for these guys it’s neither. Save your money, headache and most importantly time and buy from someone else. Not to mention I’ve found about 10 small little fragments of metal all inside of the head, near camshaft and lifters. Even one piece on the intake valve. Pic #2As you can see No damage to the box. Pictures 5-8. And then they packaged it like it was a box of shoes, using the cardboard to take up the extra space of the box and not protecting the cylinder head. Picture # 9 and 10I was just happy to receive my money back so I could re-purchase else where

I dropped off 2 ford 4.2lL v6 heads and 2-1/2 weeks later picked them up. They looked very good. All large machined areas had been faced and looked great. I assembled the heads back on the F150 with no issue. The truck is now up and running. I would recommend Clearwater cylinder head for your next head rebuild!

I have plenty of friends who recommend Clearwater highly. While nobody is perfect, they were more than fair with my buddy when they sent him a misboxed head, giving him a partial credit without even asking for one.

Would not recommend them for anything. Sold me a new cylinder head that was not applicable to what i needed and so far refusing to correct the problem. To anyone listening, go somewhere else.

Purchased a set of NEW Jeep Liberty cylinder heads with 5yr warranty. Lasted 8 months, took heads off, found heat tab missing, one intact, inspected heads and found .014 guide clearance, which is almost TEN TIMES more than it should be. Sent heads in for warranty. Got heads back that were full of glass bead, in condition worse than what we sent. Pitted valve stems, used valve guides, rusty cam, rusty lifters. This place is probably the Number 1 worst place to get cylinder heads from. What a joke, owner was rude. Lied on the phone. Heres some pictures of the new valve guides they say they just put in. STEER CLEAR!!!

I have a 2004 Chrysler 300 m with close to 300k. Well someone forgot to change the timing belt and well, it didnt end well for my heads and valves. I purchased through clearwater because the quotes locally were crazy high. Tim took my order over the phone and I had solid support through the entire ordeal. I even had a motor that took a different type of camshaft to fit my sprockets, no problem at all I was taken care of. After 7 months of waiting (thanks covid) the test run of my car went smoothly.

Purchased a pair of heads for my LM7 in my 2005 Chevy Tahoe - received them within a couple of weeks as they were made to order. One of the heads had an improperly set helicoil in one of the exhaust manifold holes so we reached out to Tim and he offered to send out a replacement head. Great customer service, and quality heads! I purchased a new cylinder head for a 96 Ford Ranger 2.3 Lima. The head was shipped on time and fit perfectly, it was fully assembled with cam, valves and springs. Returning the core was easy in the same carton the new head was shipped. I would definitely recommend. Great price, better than the rebuilt heads at the chain stores.

Bought a pair of new Mopar 440 heads to replace a set of Edelbrock RPM heads I have nothing but problems with. The new heads look good out of the box and if your up to it with a little bit of polish and port matching they will release the best in your performance build. Engine sounds better that ever and no more oil smoke! Thanks Tim for everything!!

I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service. First the company sends me the wrong cylinder head. I asked for hydrolic lifters and they sent me solids which require a lot more maintanence. So it was essentially a downgrade. The head and shipping cost me $1000 CAD. I had no time to send the head back so i installed it on the truck. Within 5k kms the camshaft completly milled itself down to nothing and sent metal through the engine and caused a spun main bearing. I called the company to complain and to get my money back but they refused and hung the phone up on me. I called back twice only to have the phone hung up on me repeatedly. I do not recomend dealing with these people whatsoever.

Poor business practice. left valve seals loose with no apologies. would only pay the freight if i bought the other head. the warranty head was returned with no gears. again i get a whatever attitude. some of us work hard for our money. if i treated customers that way id be out of business

I bought a brand new cylinder head for my 2004 Audi A4 Quattro in late November.The head came completely assembled, new gaskets including valve cover. All I had to do was transfer head bolts.Communication was great! Late December 2020 I ordered a complete 0331 head for my cherokee. I received it literally in 24 hours (super awesome) . inspected the head as. Got it in the house ( 5 star craftsmanship )I installed it on my rebuilt engine (fit like a glove) Ive been running it over a week ( afraid im going to get a speeding ticket ) . I have to say you all, start to finish did an OUTSTANDING job it was money very well spent.

Quality control has dropped in recent years, as bad as a rounded 10mm camshaft bearing cap bolt on the cylinder head I picked up yesterday. The previous set of heads I picked up from them had the wrong cams installed. I might consider shopping around next time.

I called on a Wednesday for a head for my Ford 6.8 v10 after buying a head from another source that ended up still having factory ford defective spark plug holes for an older model.Briefly talked to a technician who was very knowledgeable of my particular application. My numbers matching head showed up the following Tuesday ready to install I sent the core back right away no problems.

100% satisfied with quality and customer service! Im in Texas, I ordered a head for a 2.4 Ecotec that was a high demand. It shouldve taken a couple weeks from order time to receive. Honestly the wait time compared to price is quite fine! I received the head less than a week later, awesome! The packaging it came in was thick reinforced cardboard box, WITH HANDHOLDS on either end, nice! Top had more than enough industrial staples. Inside, was packed with 2-3 styrofoam stock boards cut up. It was tightly in place as if they expected possible carrier mishandling. The head was in fairly thick clear plastic bag. This thing wasnt going to move! Ive read the reviews. Not everyone is honest, and not everything is perfect, even new. Im not a mechanic but been around it since a child (70s) and have successfully repaired allot of problems with my vehicles. If you have to do a bit more to a rebuilt/ reconditioned item, so be it, make it perfect for you. The price on these from Clearwater will allow it. My head was not perfect, very close tho, duh! its used! but 100% better than the one replaced! Inspect your parts thoroughly, call them if theres issues, if you have to put a tiny bit of effort or $, its still worth it. Theyve done the hard part for you. Lastly, I asked for an extension for the return due to the 2021 winter storms, and was granted without hesitation. Thank you! to all at Clearwater Cylinder Head. Yall make it possible for us to repair an otherwise costly issue. My vehicle runs 100% now!

Their work here is top notch. Professional, caring, and oldschool. The only other place thats even Remotely Comparable was an ex FWB of mines, Mandy. Her head work was okay.. but shes married now I think, and not picking up. Her phone. Her hand blending was so. Kinda uneven... But a in all.. she had nice eyes.

I ordered a reman cylinder head from them for an 05 mini coopers s. Price was very reasonable. Tim was always quick to respond that day I had a question. Cylinder head didnt have the rigth valves but they were quick to respond and fix it. This isnt their fault since mini uses the same head but different valves.. Im very happy with the product would recommend.

Just picked up my cylinder heads for my Dodge 4.7 lifter spitter they corrected Dodges shortcomings Updated them phenomenal workmanship ! They are better then factory new and I feel good about about Re assembling my engine now. Great to see this kind of work these days. Best pricing and warranties to. Good for another 300 k miles. Get your Dodge updated and upgraded before you have an issue.

I ordered a ly7 cylinder head and they assembled it with the camshafts in the wrong location. Intake and exhaust were swapped. Had to do a lot of extra work to diagnose why the engine was still having issues come to find out it was cylinder head Construction. I emailed the company to see what they would do as far as correcting anything and got no reply at all.

Great head shop

Ordered the head for a 4ZD1 2.3L Isuzu. It came with the valves already seated, valve springs, and rocker arms. Ordered it without the cam.The only issue I had was...my stock valve cover didnt match up with the head casting.It had about a 3 inch gap. The valve cover overlapped it and caused it to leak oil on to the exhaust manifold.I didnt notice the problem until after the head was done installed. but communication with the company was excellent. And the owner offered to fix it for me. I just had to ship the head and valve cover. He offered to shape the valve cover to fit the head.But I needed my vehicle then, and not later. So I just told them it was okay. I just siliconed it. No oil leak since then.Besides that one problem. The head is in excellent running condition. No other issues.

Ordered complete heads for my 4.7 dodge Dakota. One month after installing them started getting lifter tick on drivers side from hell. When I emailed company no reply at all. I ordered the heads with “new” lifters specifically. Now I’m down my truck again until I can tear into it and replace them AGAIN. 😡

Needed a new cylinder head for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L. Clearwater Cylinder Head was recommended from a Jeep thread I was following. Price was a little more than rebuilding my old head but I was getting new valves and a better casting on the new one. Tim at Clearwater was very helpful and explained everything thoroughly. Great service and was at my door sooner than expected. Will use this company again and will recommend them when needed.

I put a pair of cylinder heads on a car then sold it. I have no idea if they went the distance or not. The service is definitely fast and cheap.The reason I gave the 3 stars was for the quality of the machining. The deck was rough with groves in it from the surfacing process.I fixed it hopefully for the sake of the new car owner. Next time Ill wait my turn at another machine shop and pay the extra money to get a better product.

I purchased a cylinder head from Clearwater cylinder head for my 2013 Toyota tacoma. I purchased a new cylinder head under the assumption that all hardware installed was new aswell. The cylinderhead that I ordered came with used cam followers and used hydraulic lash adjusters which wasnt a big deal as they had assured me everything was cleaned and tested. All of the used parts on the head were clogged with sludge and debris. When I called them they said it wasnt a big deal and that I should just clean it and move on. After the installation of the hed the vehicle has been consuming oil at a rapid rate which it never did before. These people do not care about the qaulity of the product that they sell to you. Do not buy from them.

I was searching for a cylinder head for my honda civic and thank god I found them. Ordered my head on Thursday and recieved it Monday, and Im in Mississippi. They were very good about answering any questions I had and also emailed me a couple reminders about things to remember during installation. The head was in excellent shape, almost looked new. The install went well, and I got my car running for much cheaper thanks to them.

Ordered a rebuilt head for my 04 suzuki forenza on Saturday 8/15/2020, and as of today 8/20/2020 the order is still showing that its on hold. I called and was told that they wont even get to it till next week since it is a custom head, nowhere on the website does it mention or even remotely imply that there would be any delay.

I ordered a BMW cylinder head from Tim, 2 weeks went by.. the installing shop reports they did not receive the head at that time. I called Tim and he proceeds to tell me that they needed a few valves and overnight ordered them from BMW. 3 days later I asked for tracking info.. Tim tells me BMW sent him the wrong valves or maybe the core he has is incorrect. Tim stated he would call the BMW repair facility to verify the customers casting number etc. Tim said he had it handled and would expedite ship the reman head once it was done.. 3-4 days. Fast forward 2.5 weeks and my customer states they havent received their reman head. I called in to Tim to get tracking and was told sorry we have attempted to check a couple of cores and none are any good... I asked for assistance in the event our customer needed rental help and was told NO we will not assist you. Keep in mind we are a automotive parts supplier and doing business to business with Bob at Clearwater. I have had good luck with Clearwater up until this order.

Horrible customer service from the manager himself, they obviously do not understand simple instructions when informed I would be home all day and they could pick up the cylinder head . I was told in the A.M and finally received a call in the afternoon saying they were not picking up the head considering Ive wasted half my day waiting I start on a new project and did not hear my phone ringing, hints I dont work in a office. Called and was constantly interrupted on the phone from the manager himself when I was repeating myself that I said I would be home all day and to come whenever. Horrible if you cant listen you probably cant offer a good service.

Excellent service. I own a repair shop and always use clearwater cylinder head Inc, best service for a very low price. I Have purchased 6 heads from them and always had a great experience. I dont see why people are upset about the core charges being that they are rebuilt cylinder heads, there is always a core charge, just simply return the core and you are not charged for it, just like any other rebuilt part. I also have not had any compression or oil blockage issues with these heads on arrival, with major engine work people should be checking this before reassembling the engine to save time and money.

IMO.Make you a favor and STAY AWAY. They DO NOT want to work. Lazy people who is looking to MAKE EASY MONEY . They are uneducated and rude. Worst customer service ever. Anyone looking for a cylinder head for a Ford 460 knows how hard it is to find a good casting! Clearwater cylinder heads have new casting with reinforced areas of common failure. The head had a good machining on the sealing surfaces and fit just like OE. After 2000 miles of driving in my class A rv this is a quality part. Shipping was fast and easy and the return of core couldnt have been any easier. The online ordering was simple and preferred. All costs and warranty are clearly stated so there is no confusion. On a personal note, I did switch out the stem seals from the umbrella type to the OE style seals. I am a professional mechanic and this is my personal rv. Thanks for a great product!!! Larry.

I called clearwater cylinder head when I was looking to replace the heads on my truck, talk to Bob and after explaining what I needed for my vehicle he gave me a quote that was really to good to be true and it was, he was offering two cylinder heads for the price of one but I really expect to pay for two, then I talk to a nice girl Ashley and she explained that occasionally Bob has a habit of miss quoting, not a big problem considering I expected this, other that that the heads were exceptional and have made my truck like new again, I would definitely use them again.

Called to ask what spark plugs they recommend putting in the heads they sold my customer... laughing he replied.... I dont know, I just sell them.

Heads were clean....installed them and have had good performance. They did not want my cores based on them being a marine application (Vortec 5.7 raw water motors). Two months later I noticed a $200 charge for core on my cc. I called and they removed the charge. I would use them again.

I bought a cylinder head from them. They asked me if I wanted a rebuild one or brand new I told them brand new which was about $140.00 extra. They sent me a defective cylinder head and wont replace it with another one. I rebuilt the whole engine with their new head. And the extreme rude sales guy told me no warranty on the Heads Good Luck! Definitely wouldnt spend another penny with these guys and wouldnt recommend them to anyone

Extremely disappointed and DO NOT recommend. Buyer be away! Ordered multiple parts from this facility to be shipped internationally. Almost $2000 in purchase.Invoice stated a different part name and I questioned that. They said it shouldn’t matter what’s the invoice said, that they part they sent was the right one. Every conversation on the phone was conducted in extremely rude manner. They’ve blocked me on Facebook.They also screwed up the value amount and customs is fining us because of their mistake. So it will cost over 150% of value to remove it from customs.I asked if I can send the parts back and get a refund and they said absolutely not. Called clear water about a month ago, everything ok. Ordered a cylinder head for a mustang. Tim took the order, said well have it to you by thurs,fri next wk. So i called that next wk around wed and got ahold of tim to reassure it would be shipped. Tim said no, he wanted to use new cores for me bc he was very particular about what he sent out and the cores he had were no good. Ok well, i said thanks for being honest and im happy you would take the time to do so. There was no communication when that took place, so i was unaware of that change and delay. The next wk comes along and i hear nothing from anyone about my head. Hmm. So i email robert mets, asked him about my head, he said he would let tim know that im inquiring about the head. Robert said he would have tim call me the next day. Next day no responce, gave tim my phone number and email as well. So, asked robert a few more times through email telling him no responce from tim, can you help me. No responces from either associates. So i eventually stop contacting clearwater heads knowing they have now collected my order and personal info including credit card number. Mean time getting ignored and promissed my head and no delivery. No contact from sales and email. All i want is my head. Ive tried numerous times to contact. I dont really know why my order got ignored as a customer but customer service definitely needs worked on there. All i wanted is what they sold.
