Lauren was excellent, very knowledgeable about every kayak and helped me find the perfect one for me and my pup! Since I have a car without roof racks she educated me on a budget friendly way to safely transport my kayak home (carrier blocks and cam straps) as well as teaching me how to do it! I just had a roof rack installed by Osprey Bay Outdoors.. The whole process was seamlessly efficient and professional. Kim, Tom, and Chris are top notch and it was a pleasure to conduct business with them.

I had been in the market for a roof-mounted cargo box for several weeks now. I actually purchased one online and it didn’t fit my crossbar spread even though the retailer said, “you should be fine”.After that debacle, I went on Thule’s website and found what I thought was the perfect carrier. Except, I couldn’t find one online that was in stock or available with like $200 shipping tacked on. Although out-of-stock online, the Thule site suggested Osprey Bay Outdoors. I called over and spoke with a really nice guy named Tom. Very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful and he said he had several to choose from in the store. Tom said to swing over and he would help me test fit everything and make sure it was good to go.Well, I’ve found my new outdoor gear store!! These guys are incredibly well-stocked, fair prices, and the customer service is above reproach! Tom went out of his way and even installed on my Highlander and answered all the questions I had. Turns out that Tom is the owner of this place too! I’m pretty sure I’ve never had an owner of any business give me that kind of respect and red-carpet treatment. Even though there were several customers in there, I felt like I was the only one. He’s definitely passionate about his business and these guys will certainly get my future business and referrals! Saturday fishing trip saved - I had a problem with my kayak’s peddle system (Old Town Predator PDL). An employee there, Joshua Zopfi, saved the day by getting my kayak going, and said bring it by for full service next week. A lot of trout was pulled out of the gulf as a result of that save.Top notch!

I highly recommend Osprey Bay. Im fairly new to kayaking, and I wasnt sure how my dog would do on the water with me. Not only did they help me find the right kayak, they even transported it to and from Coopers Bayou for me. All of this service was included in the rental price (which was a bargain!) Exceptional customer service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and overall wonderful experience!! Extra shout out to Tom, Lauren, and epecially Parker who helped me at the launch!

I placed an online order for a new aqua bound paddle and received it 2 days later and it was in perfect shape. Could not be happier, excellent customer service before the purchase.

They have an awesome selection and customer service. Walked thinking I would buy the rack and let it sit in my garage for a month before I got around to installing it. Nope walked in bought the rack and they installed it right in the parking lot before I could finish paying. Everything was done on a lunch break. Awesome customer service. They had all of the parts needed no waiting for orders to come in.

I am on the Johnson Outdoor Pro Staff and was helping out Osprey Bay Outdoors with their annual kayak sale recently... First of all it was one of the nicest kayak stores that I have ever been inside. The size of the store and the way every thing flowed from one thing to the next was well thought out. They have a great selection of accessories, paddles, PFDs, kayaks, etc... While working side by side with the owners and the their staff, I was very impressed with their knowledge of every single product in the store. If I ever have anyone in that area looking for a kayak, I would have complete confidence that they would be able to assist them in picking out the perfect kayak for their needs. The entire experience was great. All the staff were super friendly and Tom, the owner, could not have been more patient or helpful for a first time Kayak buyer. He even delivered it himself without charging me for delivery. From the front, the store looked little a little small, but once inside it is super deep with a good variety of inventory. Highly recommended!

I ordered my kayak from these guys and it came in early!Also, the staff is the best. I had considered getting some stuff from amazon, but Ospreys prices are about the same. What separates them is the knowledge and patience they have. They make sure you get the best product for you and tell you the ups and downs of everything.They arent trying to just make a sale. They are making sure their customer is satisfied and taken care of.

I have been buying kayaks from Kim and Tom since they opened their first store on US 19. I have never had anything other than a great experience with them. Their demo days, advice, prices, store, and accessories are top rate and very high quality. I never have to worry I dont have all the information I need to make a good purchase. My newest kayak, a Sitka XT, is a dream. They gave me plenty of option before I choose it, and got to try them all out. Knew the right one as soon as I got the water. Fantastic buying experience. I cannot recommend them enough. I purchased an old town predator 5 years ago from Osprey Bay. I recently took it in to upgrade some of the features on the new model. Durning the install they noticed hairline cracks in the hull that even I had not seen, stopped the install and filed a warranty claim. To my surprise, my kayak was replaced free of charge and Osprey Bay walked away from multiple sales to do the right thing. Thanks to Old Town as well. I will gladly make the drive from Tampa to give Osprey Bay my business and will most likely always purchase old Town kayaks. The staff at Osprey Bay is extremely knowledgeable and they have a spectacular selection and go above and beyond for their customers. Highly recommend them!

5-star! Two things you wont find almost anywhere else: 1)Rental kayaks are best brands, (like Eddyline) so you can rent a MEANINGFUL trial before you buy. You arent stuck renting Wal-Mart boats which you would never buy. You can experience the boat for hours. They credit your rental to purchase! 2)You can get a MEANINGFUL demo experience. Go to a local park and take your time. No pressure. No swimming pool. Kim and Tom are great. They realize that you need to be sure about a purchase of this magnitude. You will enjoy these very nice people!

We purchased our first kayak over 10 years ago from them when they were located on US 19 and you could demo in the creek behind the store. Since then we have relocated 75 miles away from Clearwater.My wife and I decided we wanted to update and get separate kayaks, after being in 4 different stores both where we live and in the bay area over the past 2 weeks, the best experience we have been has been by far at Osprey Bay.We have walked into shops and been completely ignored for a half hour, with no other customers there. We have been in a shop, been greeted and then ignored. We have been into a shop, provided good information, but when we requested a demo, we were charged to do so, and then only one of 2 popular models could be demonstrated, one a 12 footer and 14 footer, 2 feet does make a difference on handling characteristics, and we would never buy a kayak without trying it out first. Finally when we asked about a specific option on a kayak (angler package) we were told we would have to wait until the next shipment comes in, in about a month. This I felt was strange since it only required putting in some foot padding and rod holders. They said they cant cut decks.As noted above dont buy a Kayak without trying it out! We learned this at Osprey Bay all those years ago, when we felt the kayak we wanted would work, it was too tippy, during the demo, so they had us try another model, which worked perfect.We have been in the Osprey Bay store twice before today and we were greeted immediately and were asked about what we were looking for. Various options were shown based on our needs. We were then told about the demo day being held today . In advance during one of our previous visits they asked what models we would like to try. Of the 4 we were interested in, 3 were available, we were told the 4th one could be demonstrated privately, but not at a Demo Day.When were arrived today at the scheduled time:1. All the kayaks we had requested were there as were probably a dozen other ones that other customers had requested.2. All kayaks were ready to go as well as the safety equipment and paddles.3. Te owners were extremely knowledgeable, giving little hints to all the people there, excellent for someone who may be new to the sport.4. They were extremely patient, in my case recommending going back and forth between lengths and models to make sure we were comfortable in the boat.5. In my case a kayak that I was really interested in, due to the style of seat, turned out to be too tippy for me. Without the demo, that would have been a big miss6. Though they did not have have angler model in stock, they have the required parts and have no issues with installing them on the basic model. They also are able to do repairs on the kayak.Finally all of this was free of charge.The owners listen well, provide excellent guidance, and are extremely down to earth, when we discussed some of our frustration with trying to buy a boat at other dealers closer to our home, she spoke highly and complimentary of their competition.Because of our experience today, we will be buying 2 kayaks from Osprey Bay!
