Amazing breakfast!! Honestly, I dont have a positive opinion of most of what South Carolina has to offer. I was delighted to find a REAL deli in Clemson. Their service, food, and atmosphere are first class. They have real New York bagels!! Everything was delicious. The only real negative about this place is the older lady. She was very rude. When leaving, I complimented the bagels. I said that their bagels are the first real bagles Ive had in South Carolina. The young lady behind the counter accepted my compliment. The old lady gave me a dirty look and shook her head. She must be a local.
I ordered delivery this morning through Door Dash (late for work and very much a life saver) and I was very delighted with my meal. I got the Apple Cinnamon Muffin (GRILLED with butter!) which was dessert for my Taylor Ham/Egg/Cheese on a Plain Bagel. I also got a side of greek pasta salad which I will be enjoying for lunch. Thank you very much! -Side note: I do not have any pictures to offer because my meal was so good, I ate it before remembering to take a picture.
Great food, yeah! The sandwiches and scones are really good!! But I dont go there anymore because of the mean old lady. I dont see how someone who has such contempt/anger for the general public, is working with the public.
Pot Belly Deli is my favorite place in Clemson for breakfast and lunch. We were in town this past week and went there twice in one day. The food was great and well priced. We will definitely go back when we return to Clemson.
My family and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Pot Belly! We have been enjoying their fresh delicious food for many years! We visit from NY a lot and we know what a good bagel should taste like! Highly recommend the egg and cheese, the everything bagel with smoked salmon with the works, Greek salad with chicken, dark horse sandwich, honestly too many favorite things to continue. Their catering is wonderful! We ordered platters for my daughter’s pre wedding festivities in April 2021. It was for the bridal party morning/afternoon food while ladies were getting ready. Huge hit! Gorgeous generous patters artfully done. The pickiest eaters were impressed. The baked goods and sandwiches were awesome. I texted the owner, Jenn, at 2:30 AM the night before the wedding day with an emergency add on because the groomsmen had no plan for food, (men!) so I asked her to create a few more platters, cold cuts, bagels etc. Pot Belly Deli catering saved the day. She responded at 4 AM no problem! Jenn was on time with tasty, fresh, eye appealing platters. Try their catering for morning or luncheon events. You will be happy you did!!
We tried about 6 or 7 menu items and no one in my group really enjoyed anything that was served. All of the sandwiches were just meh. Cost was about $10 per person, which is high for a deli in general, but seems especially high for the quality of food that was served. The staff was very helpful, pleasant, and friendly. But the food was just not good.
Always a great place to stop by if you want a little more from you sandwich than the normal sandwich shop. The sandwiches are great, both the breakfast and deli sandwiches, and everything is very reasonably priced. A wide selection of ingredients will make sure to satisfy you. My wife and I love the place so much, we picked up a nice decal to put on our car. Figure thats our highest praise we can give the place.
For lunch get the Dagwood, almost everything is good for breakfast
Food was good, but that is all. Service is bad. People are very rude that work there. The lady at the register never looked up at me, just held out her hand for my ticket like I was cattle. The place is very confusing too with a bad set up for customers. But if you like paying $12 for two slices of bread and a meat, then go for it. But they will make you feel horrible with their rudeness.
Smallish deli with seating inside and out. Order a special or create your own sandwich from the deli. Staff will behind the order to you if you are eating in. Take out is fine.I had a Philly cheese steak that was ok...a bit dry and lacking in cheese. My wife had a roast beef sandwich that was much tastier.Staff was friendly. Service was a bit slow, but there were a lot of people there when I was there!
Every college town has a restaurant like this. It is generally pretty terrible, but somehow has become an institution so people still eat here and give it decent reviews. First off, we have some non-meat eaters in our group so we came mostly for the egg salad. They were of course out of that so we had to change course and order something else. My salad was ok if you like wilted, half-brown lettuce. The bagels weren’t toasted as requested and the cream cheese was spread so thin it was barely recognizable. At least the grilled cheese sandwich was small and we paid a lot for lunch!
Went this past Saturday. Food was great, but the staff was a little rude. Ann(?) at check out needs to be more welcoming. Price is on the high side as well.
Really disappointing. Ordered a caramel macchiato and paid $5.00 for it, and got a watery, almost sour tasting coffee. Breakfast bagels were mediocre, and the egg was tiny. Requested cheddar cheese and was given American. Overpriced for underwhelming food.
Greatest breakfast Sandwiches in Clemson, SC.Best food has some great prices.
Friendly, fast, and as good as advertised.
This is one of my favorite places to go for brunch! Great food and amazing people! Jen is the one I look forward to most 💗❤️ Amazing service
The food and service were decent. It probably wouldnt be my first choice, but I would eat here again.
I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this excellent restaurant. Well it was a magnificent evening and the place was indeed one of the reasons for this strong event. The crew cooperated in a sweet way, the food was tasty and my guests were so thrilled. We shall definitely return for more joyful events. thanks very much.
PBD is ok.... Food is not bad, not amazing, but the rudeness is the worst! I have been eating here since I was young. As I got older I realized this not your local ‘friendly’ establishment. They still not friendly! So rude! I know the lady with red hair has always been there, she the rudest one of all! Don’t worry, after our experience today, we done!!! Our to go order experience, rudeness and food (awful breakfast burrito special) was enough for us to call it quits and write this review.
Awesome customer service! J did a great job taking down our order and she made us feel like regulars. Food was amazing too, definitely get the sausage egg and cheese!
The food is always excellent. No matter what I order (last week it was the Philly, this week it was the smoked salmon bagel) I am always impressed by the quality as well as the kindness of the folks who work there. Such a fantastic local spot to support!
Very good place.
Great food! Hot and cold sandwiches were both phenomenal. Super friendly, patient staff. They don’t skimp on anything from portions to hospitality! Picky eater / kid friendly menu. Favorite spot in Clemson!
Cool local place. Had a sausage egg and cheese on a bagel it was delicious. Bagel could have been toasted more but it was still good. Staff was friendly and the place was clean.
Food was good, quick service
Great deli. Same as ones I grew up with in NY.
First time eating here and it was great. Loads of people on a Sunday morning but the food came quickly and was delicious. Id love to come back for lunch!
We went to have salads and sit outside. Social distancing is being practiced correctly and the service was great. Only 4 stars because the outside has a bunch of flies and bees (out of their control).
This place has the best breakfast sandwiches. My go to has always been the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. Consistently good food and have been around in Clemson forever.
Good sandwich.
Food was good, but they brought tuna salad out instead of chicken salad that we ordered and would not acknowledge their mistake. Was forced to eat tuna salad (which was good, but still). The Dogwood (or Dagwood?) was excellent
This was a gem I found while looking for a quick lunch. The best sandwhich and salad had in long time. I will be back
I love this place, but you have to know the busy times. Sunday mornings after a football game, you might as well not even try unless you are willing to wait. Breakfasts offer any breakfast sandwich you could want along with muffins and a few other baked goods. Lunches and dinners are great for sandwiches and soups. Definitely a unique place in Clemson.
Great food and friendly service. Really nice folks
Pot Belly Deli is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Clemson! They have great sandwiches and quiches and muffins. You also have the option to build your own breakfast sandwich and theyll make it fresh! If youre looking for an authentic Clemson experience, definitely a spot worth checking out!
Pretty good.
Went last Saturday with some friends. The line was out the door but it went fairly fast and we got to the register in good time. There was also plenty of seating inside once we finished ordering. I got the seven-ten split which I highly recommend, they gave me a lot of meat on the sandwich which was super nice. Overall it was a great restaurant and I really want to come back and try their breakfast food!
Great food. Flat out. Sandwiches could be a little bigger for the price, but Ive never been disappointed by the quality and taste.
Good variety of sandwiches, chips, drinks and desserts. A nice change from the chain places nearby. Comfortable choices of places to sit including outside. Staff is competent, friendly and fast-moving. This is a good place to eat and visit. Both booth seating and tables are available. Can do carry-outs which is good because lunch time gets pretty crowded.
I wish there was a 6th star. you are heaven. why is there ZEROO potbellys in Georgia? Like all we have is subway.... if you go here you have to get the chips and a milk shake because nothing hits better.
Been going here for years. I love the Dagwood and chili. Atmosphere is great. A little pricey, but you get a tasty quality meal with much more meat than other stores. Well worth it.
Love this place for reliable and quick service. I think there may be some turn over in the kitchen but the quality remains. Get the rueben -extra pressed. Youll be glad you did.
What an amazing gem in Clemson, where the streets are overpopulated with fast food and corporate dining. The atmosphere and customer service are superb. I ordered a Greek salad, a sandwich, and a cheesecake and they were all Incredible! Thank you for the experience.
A long time sandwich shop in Clemson with daily specials. I love the St Stephen, turkey/cheese/honey mustard/croissant, and their grilled cheese is great. You can get it with tomato soup. They have small bagged chips or homemade slaw and pasta salads. Fountain and bottles beverages are available. They also serve breakfast items which the few Ive tried didnt disappoint. Parking can be a big problem, but thats nothing new around Clemson!
They have the most amazing reuben Ive ever eaten and they have great service as well. They also offer breakfast all day which is amazing. Their most popular breakfast item might be the muffin, split and soaked in butter and grilled. So delicious. Its easy to miss the outdoor seating beside the handicap parking spaces.
Nothing special ... Soft sandwich ... Old lettuce tomato... Dry meat ... Too expensive 65 dollars for sandwiches and drinks .. for 5 people ...and that is what we got ... Not worth it 😒
Fantastic breakfast and deli sandwiches! Ive had the bacon, egg, and cheese and the smoked turkey with bacon. Both were delicious. Short wait is well worth it.
Great atmosphere and great food!!
Pot Belly Deli is the perfect stop for anyone visiting Clemson. From its decor, to its menu, it has a unique feel all around and has a wide arrangement of sandwiches, bagels, desserts, croissants, and more on their menu. I love their Sausage Egg and Cheese croissants and butter bagels.
Just ok. Soup was ice cold. This place is a little pricey for what it is. Staff wasn’t too friendly either. Especially the check out lady. Plus they should really tell people that you charge an extra .75 cents because someone doesn’t pay cash. Where I come from it’s called the cost of doing business. Probably won’t go back...
As a Clemson student, Pot Belly is simply the best breakfast in town. While tough to find if youre not looking for it, us students flock to PBD most weekend mornings. Their Great Hambino sandwich is a must-have in my opinion, and their other hot and cold sandwiches are delicious. They also sell meat by the pound! Dont leave Clemson without going to PBD.
Great service, brought food to table fast, and even sighted the Clemson basketball coach! Nothing better than good food, good company with family and local celebrities!
Good sandwhiches and coffee. Great staff. My daughter fainted there 2 month earlier and they took care of her and called 911.
We went here one day for lunch and it was absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend had The Dagwood sandwich and absolutely loved it. He had no complaints about his meal. I had the St Stephen and was in love-at-first-bite. We managed to get there at a quiet time, so we had no waiting. The service was impeccable and the staff was polite and helpful. This place is definitely worth the money (and if its packed) worth the wait.
Awesome place, usually pretty crowded so dont be in a rush.... Or if you are call in your order ahead of time and skip the line. Just about every kind of sandwich you could think of theyve got, but if you get the st Stephens you may never even try anything else, because its that delicious. Be prepared to spend 15 bucks for lunch if getting chips and a drink, which I realize is pretty expensive for a sandwich. Once you taste it though you will understand why, and you will keep coming back lol. Theres a reason they have been around for a long time!
Hard to find a deli this good even in the bigger cities. Line can get long at time, but they get you tour food pretty quickly. Best Rueben in the south as far as Im concerned. Coffee bar is also excellent.
Just wish there were more soup options..like chicken noodle or chowder..love the staff and the food!
Employee was very rude and shut the window in my face
Great food! Great service!
Amazing food, amazing services!
Best all day breakfast spot in town. The lunch options are equally wonderful at this locally owned hidden gem. With fresh ingredients, from the bread to the cheese to the meat, you truly cant go wrong with any order. Pro Tip: Order a grilled muffin as a side. You wont regret the choice.
Good place to get very good food.👍
The wrap I had was great. This is a counter order deli that delivers your food to your table. Does need napkins at the tables.
I love this place! The bagels are delicious, the sandwiches are delicious, and it reminds me of the delis up north. We need one in Greenville!
Classic deli options. Great local breakfast joint with memorable college atmosphere. Clean facilities. Average customer service. Limited parking, gets very busy at certain hot times.
Great sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and beyond. High quality ingredients at college town pricing. Tables arent the most comfy but college kids dont care that much. I go there every time Im in town.
Very friendly staff and quick service. Prices are good and my salad was big enough and had enough toppings to keep me full. Only complaint is that theres not much parking available.
Rueben was very juicy. Charged 75 cents for credit card. 2.50 for tea. 9% tax... the 7.50 sandwich became 13.00 w tip.
Trying hard is a big deal :)Their success is because of effort.
Nice little deli with a great selection. Its kind of hidden, so be sure and find it. It was worth the trip.
Honestly deserves 10 starsThis is the perfect deli
I love the Reuben sandwich here. Pasta salad is my go to side. Very busy at lunch but worth the wait.
Went to Clemson for a game and this was a favorite must have to stop place! For a little place the line was wrapped around the whole building. Service was quick & easy to place your order & get your food. Great big chip selection and drinks. My sandwhich was awesome and I wld of ordered another one for later!
Great sandwiches and salads in a hole-in-the-wall, order at the counter and scramble for an open table college eatery setting. Be prepared to wait for your food but youll enjoy the 80s album covers on the walls.
Always the best place to grab breakfast. On weekdays its easy to get in and out quickly but you should call your order ahead on the weekends.
Best place in town to get a Reuben. The meat is fresh and the sandwich is toasted to perfection. The downer is that the place is really hopping with college students during the school months. Might be tricky getting a seat during the lunch hour.
Food is great! Limited parking and dont park in Dunkin Donuts parking lot next door or they will tow you. Because the food is so good, there is usually a line to order your food before you set down but its worth it.
Wonderful sandwich. Roast beef on chibatta with a small portion of pickled onions have a perfect flavor profile. Definitely will return
The best in Clemson for decades!! Love it
Good deli. Crazy busy but worth the wait.
A hidden Clemson jem! Excellent sandwich options! Funky, comfortable space. Never had a meal I didnt like!
Visited 12:30ish on Sunday. Long line moved quickly with friendly, competent staff. Had seafood salad, Rueben and 7 10 Split. All very good. Will definitely return.
Absolute best sandwiches in the world. Get the Dark Horse, you will thank me later
Great food for breakfast and lunch. One of, if not the best, place to get breakfast in the mornings.
Great place for lunch. Good service.
Quick service, reasonable prices, amazing food. The sandwich I had was delicious!
Great food, friendly staff and great music to enjoy as well!
Nothing hits the spot better than a PBD breakfast bagel when youre in dire need for some sustenance. They figuratively saved my life once.
Went there for the first time. The food was awesome. I love how the muffins were made.
The food is excellent and surely some of the best in Clemson! Their menu provides a wide array of sandwich options. Whichever sandwich you choose be sure to try one of their soups because there is nothing better than a combination of those two. The only downside about PBD are their prices, but I would certainly pay a little extra to be guaranteed an awesome lunch!
The food is always delicious. Im only docking a start b/c of how long you have to wait on love to order/pay and even if you call ahead to order, you have to cut in front of all the other people to pay and thats awkward and you get mean looks.
Love the sandwiches at Pot Belly! Great food and service!
Excellent food and decent service. Large variety and selection. Cant go wrong with H.R. Geiger on the walls.
Nice local deli near Clemson U. Hot sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, drinks etc. Popular place for students. Been several times, food is always good, service is friendly and quick.
Always great sandwich ‼️
