We moved into the area about 3 years ago and began using Almira Tire for all our car repair needs. The owners have just been wonderful. Their shop is very responsive, quick to make the repair, make it correctly the first time and very well priced. I enjoy my time waiting for the car either chatting with the owner or petting their gorgeous Belgium Shepherd Bravo. Thanks Almira Tire you are an asset to Lakewood.
I called Almira Tire on Friday January 10 2020 when we had an urgent issue with our car. The owner Peggy was very helpful, took our car in right away and was able to have the repairs completed the same day!It was the first time I used their services and it was a great experience! From the moment I walked in the front door and met the owner’s beautiful and friendly German Shepherd it felt like I met some old family friends. Peggy was very nice, courteous and very knowledgeable and I felt assured that my car will be in good hands. It’s so hard these days to find a business that makes one feel this way, so I consider myself lucky. The shop did a great job and Peggy actually waited for me to pick up my car after closing time when my Lyft ride was a little late. Thank you again Peggy!Great job everybody, you’re the best!!!Gene Cioboata
Excellent service and value!!! This is a literal mom and pop operation (with competent mechanics), and it is quite clear that they are very honest and they care about their customers. They gave me 3 options on my repair, and I felt very comfortable going with the highest option. I will be back, and I highly recommend this business!
My parents have been long-time customers of Almira, and when I needed new tires they highly recommended I take my car there. I was able to schedule an appointment and have 4 new tires installed within 24 hours for about $250.00 less than the lowest quote Id received anywhere else. The service was professional, friendly, and fast and I will be sure to use Almira in the future for any car service I may need.
My car battery quit while I was on a trip in Cleveland. The staff at almira allowed me to borrow a battery jump starter to bring my car into the shop. They didn’t have my vehicle’s battery type in stock but obtained it within the hour to perform the replacement. Nothing but praise for the staff and Bravo (the shop’s Belgian Shepherd).
The service was fast and efficient. Everyone there was very honest and upfront about what they were doing. Never felt like they were trying to pile on little things that needed fixed like some garages. Did great work.
Almira has been great, I recommend them to EVERYONE I know. Friendly and fast, honestly, they should be way more expensive than they are for the quality of work they provide. You know the classic car-mechanic that you always hearing about where they rip off their customers? Not here, every time Ive been there Ive walked away giddy with what Ive gotten. And you know what, itll keep me coming back for years to come.
We are pleased with Almira Tire, beause not only did they perform work well on my car, they informed me each step of the way what needed to be done and what I could wait on. Telephone calls were returned within a reasonable amount of time, and they were not as expensive as the big chains. I will definitely return for work. Front office is friendly and expeditious in their information.
Fast, friendly service with appropriate pricing. I felt very comfortable working with Almira Tire. Everything was explained to me thoroughly. This isnt one of those places that finds $600 extra that needs done to your car. They just tell you what is wrong and fix it.
Almira Tire provides excellent, personal care at a fair price. I was very impressed with their customer service, and also their connection to the community. They are very environmentally friendly and also use their recyclables to make contributions to the local Veterans Home. I strongly recommend this business and am so glad that I chose them over a larger dealership to replace my tires.
Very friendly. Honest. Dependable. They helped me with an emergency brake problem for which I am so grateful. Bought tires, reasonably priced. Absolutely no pressure. Ill never use another garage!
Used to be good, so lazy now that it will cost me nearly $3k. After the last trip to their shop I suddenly had issues with my ignition cylinder and had to have all my locks replaced days later due to damage caused by damage done to my key. They refused to take the vehicle for repairs because they were too busy that week, despite the problem starting immediately after taking it to them last. When I took it in last to have noises my front end where making examined and said while you have it do an oil change, etc... They kept it, performed the oil change, and tried to return it without examining the front end issues at all. When pressed to fulfill the requested service they obviously put little effort into it as I was told the noise was my struts and they would be fine until at least 4 months. A matter of weeks later my ball joint goes out completely and a different mechanic stated that signs of age and wear were obvious on both ball joints.
First time experience? Great. My girlfriend referred me to them after getting a couple tires repaired. I was in need of the same service and they did a great job at a fair price. It was also nice getting to know Bravo, the shop German Sheppard. (dont let him intimidate you, hes a sweet pup.) Ill note here that the review thus far is why they are getting 2 stars and not 1. Special thanks to Bailey for doing a great job, much appreciated. I was even considering buying the shop lunch to thank them for a great first experience. Things have changed.Second experience? Well, weve plummeted from a 5 star to a 2 star review. It all comes down to one simple reason: I will not finance a shops tools for them, just like I wont pay for a carpenters hammer or a doctors stethoscope. This is what they expect at Almira Tire. I was charged 41.22 for them to scan computer for cause of check engine light this takes all of 60 seconds. How do I know? I own a scanner. ($25 on ebay for a basic scanner, see pictures) I came into the shop telling them what the code was and what needed to be fixed. Which part did they fix? The exact part I informed them needed to be fixed.Granted, should the shop check the codes themselves for their own protection and accuracy? Sure I get that, Im not unreasonable. Again it takes all of 60 seconds to do this. When I respectfully disputed this charge I was met with instant bad attitude, no diplomacy whatsoever. I was told with a snarky tone Well, we expect a fair price for our labor No disputes there, I agree wholeheartedly. I think you should get a fair price for you labor too. However, charging customers 41.22 for 60 seconds of labor is not fair. That comes to about 2,473.20 an hour for this particular task.Lets say with all forgiveness it took 5 minutes to double check the codes and jot down some notes with all due diligence. Thats still 494.64 per hour for labor. I just cant justify this in anyway shape or form. To add insult to injury when I explained to the owner that I own a code reader myself and provided the codes they would need. And who payed for that? I did. Well I have to pay for mine too. Oh really? So Im paying for your tools now? Why not charge me for your wrench and sockets while youre at it? Because its not normal for the customer to pay for tools. Labor? Yes. Supplies? Yes. Parts? Yes. Tools of trade? No.The $25 scanner I own came up with the exact same codes as theirs. They charged me twice what my tool is worth to use it one time. Lets assume they have a fancier one that cost like $200 or so. Still doesnt change the fact no customer should ever pay for a shops tools. Especially one that does a great deal of the work for them. The days when a mechanic had to look under the hood to figure out whats going on is all but gone. There are exceptions when a code reader doesnt help and human eyes are required but lets be honest, the code reader does the Lions share of the work in our age of technology. In the future I will not pay 400-2000 dollars an hour to have a scanner linked to a port located by my gas pedal that requires the operator to push enter to receive a itemized list of engine codes. Its so easy to connect and operate I can do this with my eyes closed. I would say next time you guys can just borrow my scanner but I doubt there will be a next time. Wouldve been happy to pay you guys more in actual honest labor for the installment of the new o2 sensor but you jacked up the price in all the wrong places. When I say actual honest labor, I mean the time it honestly took you to replace the part just so were crystal clear. This review is long enough so I wont get into detail about the 100-200% mark up on the part replaced as well. Mark it up sure, please make a profit but wow. In much less words, if you need a tire repaired these are the guys to see. If you have engine problems however, run very far away from this place and dont look back.
Never had an issue, fantastic place.
Used the U-haul services. They have a rescued German Shepard named Bravo!!!!! Great for my move!
Honest, friendly and fair. As a return customer, Id highly recommend Almira for your auto needs.
Over priced. Went in for oil change figuring about $30, came to $65 because they put synthetic oil in without asking. Said it would last longer but the next time sticker was the same as regular oil.
Excellent service the two times I used the U Haul truck and equipment
Very happy with my service. I basically had sheared a lugnut in half on one of my tires because it was so rusted/welded on there, it was a real mess. The guy had to work a full day on it and when he got my tire off found that the brake pad was falling apart. Replaced the brakepad and cleaned my brake very well. He even saved the rim (which I thought he was going to have to take a blowtorch to or something, it was that bad). When I got in there to get my bill I was not feeling good... only $175!!, great deal, so happy this place is near my house.
Great place to have your vehicle fixed and have tires put on
Only place I take my vehicles for work.Edit: just heard they retired.
Almira is like a trusted family member to me! I can count on excellent communication, fair prices, professional service and a friendly smile at Almira Tire.
