Very friendly staff that make a newcomer feel like a regular. They have a good sized list of homebrews that they can package the ingredients for you, or you can pick and choose yourself. Not an expansive amount of inventory when it comes to equipment, but they definitely have everything you need. Excellent small town vibe. Will be coming back here.

The only negative about this place is the parking situation. But they cant control that since theyre located in a downtown kinda spot. Prices are pretty good. I think they charge one price for grain by the pound and a different price if its by the ounce. They have a wide selection of hops and yeast.

Every time I go in there, they help me figure out a new recipe to try and always explain the science behind whats happening and the best way to approach my brew. Great place with a great brewery across the street too.

We both enjoyed the beginner class. like to see more on mead making and advanced wine classes. Darren and Dan were very informative and helpful. maybe a better selection of 1 gal juice kits that are available.

The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Fair prices and wide selection for a LHBS. Bart especially guided us for our first few extract batches, and now we regularly do all-grain. This is the kind of small business that you want to support

Cool guys, always willing to help but dont assume you are clueless (lets be honest Im sure most of us are). Also have great grains, hops, and all the hardware you need. Only thing i wish there was more of was kegging equipment.

I used to make trips out here just to support a local business (Even purchased my co2 tanks from them at a significant markup). They just declined to swap out 2 empty co2 tanks and tried to give us one larger one instead. Will not be going back.

Easily the best of the brew shops in NEO. Not just for ingredients either, they offer classes and put on events. Definitely check out the Iron Brewer competition held in May, think Iron Chef but with beer.

This is an Inner City Beer making supply store. They have a fair selection of dry malt spray Malt, hops and yeasts. Some equipment, chemicals and odds and ends. But less than half of their space is utilized. Most disappointing is there grain selection which indicates by how few they had and that they were all pre-packaged is that they dont get a lot of volume. That being said said if you need the basic supplies or youre doing a partial Mash or just need some dry malt for a recipe this is definitely a good place to go. And they didnt jack up the prices.

Im an advanced homebrewer. Ive been here a couple times and the staff dont seem very knowledgeable or helpful. Maybe Im spoiled by shopping online, but the product selection is very limited. The products they carry arent particularly quality either.

Very helpful brew shop with unique recipe kits

The Cleveland Brew Shop is a quaint local homebrew store located, perhaps unsurprisingly, near the burgeoning hipster enclaves of Ohio City and Tremont. There are several things the Brew Shop has going for it, beginning with the staff, all of whom are friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. The store boasts a wide array of both whole grains and liquid extracts (all very reasonably priced!), along with a somewhat smaller, but still serviceable, selection of hops and liquid and dry yeasts. For those interested in learning more about the homebrewing process, the Brew Shop even offers wine and beer classes, along with a bi-monthly “beer share” where homebrewers can come together to discuss diverse beer styles while bringing in samples of their latest concoctions. That all said, the Brew Shop does suffer from a mediocre equipment selection in store, and over the past few months the wine kit options have declined precipitously into the single digits. As the Brew Shop lists their full catalogue on their website, and will special order any items not in stock on the shelves, this understocking doesn’t present much more than a minor inconvenience to most shoppers (except, of course, for impulse buyers).A special shoutout needs to go out to perhaps my favorite staff member at the Brew Shop: a certain resident sassy, loudmouthed feline who, like his owners, is always eager to make a new friend or two.
