Love this local shop. Fantastic atmosphere inside. Love the art by local artists. Great patio to sit and meet friends. Plus, they have a drive thru for those times you dont want to get out of your car.
The flavor/blends are simply outstanding, some I’ve never found anywhere else. But what makes this coffee shop above and beyond the others is the fact that on A Saturday morning, with a full parking lot, drive thru and inside line, I was in and out in amazing time. 6 incredible employees behind the counter, handling the rush with great ease, and still treating each person like they were the only one in the store.
VERY friendly staff, great latte!The baristas were so welcoming, helpful, and patient! They provided recommendations and made our drinks perfectly.My mom and I enjoyed the honey cinnamon latte (homemade oat milk!) and snickerdoodle latte. Both were delicious!We will be back to try the quiche and biscuits & gravy for sure.Adorable outside patio with a heater and tables and chairs.Give em a try, support local!!
I had an ice latte with an extra shot and it was good. Sugar cookie was nice as well. Price and the atmosphere were decent as well.
Weve been going here since it opened! The past year we have gone every Sunday morning and love it! The decor inside is amazing and the local art for sale is top notch - the convenience of the drive thru is also nice when we stop before going to the zoo! Highly, highly recommend Metropolitan Coffee!
Very nice place to grab a coffee and sit, or get it to go with their drive up window. Wife got the caramel latte and I got a mocha, we split a sugar cookie. Everything was really good.
Plenty of room indoors to give adequate space to yourself. Has an outdoor patio and a parking lot. Owner and staff friendly. I have only ordered coffee type drinks. Not sure what they serve in edibles. Check it out if your in the area. Laid back atmosphere.

Was good but we were disappointed by them being out of most milk substitutes. Its Saturday so I would think this would be a simple fix.
The owner thinks shes immune to criticism because she has a coffee monopoly in the area. Ill come right out and say it - most of her baristas need retrained on how to make a latte. I dont even think the owner knows. On any given day I get a large latte. Sometimes they weigh as much as 415 grams, all the way down to 200 grams! Thats right! On more than one occasion my large latte actually weighed less than my wifes small latte. The cup is half filled with hot milk and espresso and the other half is just bubbly foam. Today was my last straw, I dont think Ill ever go back. I was forced to all this time because there really is nowhere else to go. Maybe Ill open a spite store.
Amazing cinnamon honey latte. I would buy it every day if I could! My only complaint is that they’re always sold out of their pastries! I came earlier today and they still sold out of the scones! I guess that’s a sign that they’re really good! I wouldn’t know because I’ve never managed to score one 😅

Old Brooklyn is so lucky to have a coffee shop like this! Drive thru is super efficient and the coffee is always rich and tasty. Love their creative seasonal flavors.
Servers were very quick and friendly. Made sure I was happy before leaving the drive thru and they always smile and say have a GREAT day 😊
Awesome as always! Had the Lumberjack Latte, which was brown sugar sweet with a hint of bitter cinnamon. Staff was very helpful as always.
Get the grits with bacon, cheese, and green onions if youre hungry. Get one of their specials if youre thirsty (I like the iced lavender latte). The 440+ other reviews will tell you everything else you need to know.

Metro Hospital employees receive a small discount, amazing place! Nice that any drink can be made decaf and they are truly delicious. The cheesy grits are loaded with Bacon and cheese! The green onions makes them even more enjoyable you can get them with the grits or without. I would highly recommend this shop versus your chain. Great customer service.

Did you know EVERYTHING they make is from scratch?? Seriously, even the syrups. Your food, snack, and drink is made craft and also tree nut free. Place is top notch.
First time here, well visit again. I got a mocha, cheesy grits and biscuits and gravy. All were really tasty. Grits had bacon and the sausage biscuit gravy was awesome.

First time coming here. Went through the drive thru on a Sunday afternoon. They had a convenient door bell 🔔 to ring. Employee quickly came and took our order of 2 honey lattes and vanilla latte. It was nice to see that they gave cup holders which usually you have to ask. Coffees ☕ where warm and delicious, not super sweet which is nice. Would stop again if in the area.
We were so excited to find a nut free bakery! You sure made my sons day! Coffee, loaded grits and muffin were all so good.
Friendly and helpful staff, place has a really cool vibe. They have homemade flavored syrups and I ordered a latte with the lumberjack syrup (maple, brown sugar, cinnamon) and it was sweet but not too crazy which I liked (I drink my morning coffee black but sometimes like a treat in the afternoon). Husband had a black coffee and we agreed its really good quality and doesnt have that sour aftertaste that so many coffee shops get (for example, panera). Cheesy grits were delicious and so was the crustless quiche. Well definitely be hitting this place up again!

I really liked Metropolitan Coffee, first and foremost the coffee was very good. The service was also great, it was very busy on the Sunday morning that I was here and it only took about two minutes for my order to come out. They have plenty of seating and it is very clean and nice inside. I would definitely recommend this place!

I moved here from the Seattle area and one thing that I miss from home is the little coffee shops. They were everywhere and they had awesome coffee. I couldnt find anything like them until Metropolitan opened. It feels like home.They do a beautiful job with their coffees. Ive never had anything other than greatness from Metropolitan. Rising Star roasts their coffee and its always perfect.This is a nut free zone. The in-house baker is incredible and everything is safe for people with nut allergies.The owner is an absolute doll. Shes sweet, brilliant and her vision for the neighborhood is beautiful. Shes made an oasis and its a huge part of Old Brooklyn rising back up. Shes doing everything she can to protect her staff and patrons during the pandemic, while still making our experience lovely and fun. I love how important her people are to her. She goes above and beyond what we could hope for as patrons. The garden and garden patio she made for her customers is so pretty and so thoughtful of her.The staff are very diverse and fun. They are kind, fast working, and consistent. I have yet to be let down in the couple years Ive been going here.Its hands down my favorite place in NE Ohio. Ive once waited an hour for their scones to finish baking because thats how phenomenal they are. Ive driven 35 minutes out of my way on several occasions for coffee from Metropolitan.Theres coffee shops and then theres Metropolitan, which is like a coffee home.Love it on awkward levels.

Love this little place! They have all types of coffees, lemonades and beverages. On top of tasty snacks! Just tried the biscuit and sausage gravy. Super delicious. And all the workers are always so nice!
Discovered Metropolitan Coffee today and loved it! They have a great variety of coffees and quiche for breakfast! Ordered the broccoli and cheddar quiche and a decaf americano. Everything was wonderful. I will be going back!
Nice place, the coffee was good and all its just a little weird during COVID. They only have the drive threw window open, so you have to walk up to it to order. The chalkboard menu they provide there is also very limited and didnt have the full menu. It would be a perfect experience if they had some printed out menus or something to look at.
Stopped by Metropolitan Coffee during my errand run for the day. The inside is very cozy and visually appealing. I am a huge fan of the aesthetic. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Coffee was delicious and moderately priced. This trip I didnt try any of the pastries but Im planning on getting some on my next trip. They also have a wide variety of art pieces, t shirts and other merchandise for sale.All and all this is a wonderful coffee shop tucked away in suburban Brooklyn. Highly reccommend stopping by!

It’s very nice. I wanted to know if we can enjoy coffee there or just to pick up?
I called beforehand to specifically inquire about decaffeinated coffee, as it is for an adult with special needs who is not allowed to consume caffeinated coffee, due to his list of medications. The woman who answered the phone said that they do serve decaf coffee. So we proceed to drive 15-20 minutes out of our way to support a local business over DD. When we arrive, the woman behind the counter says they do not serve decaf coffee, only decaf expresso. When I called, I specifically inquired about decaf coffee, and they should have mentioned about decaf espresso over the phone, versus having to tell us this info after we already drove 20 minutes out of our way to support this business. The woman proceeds to say that it was probably someone in training, and I said that perhaps this person in training needs more training or should not be answering the phone. The woman appeared completely unsympathetic, all while the special needs adult started to have a meltdown.I would not recommend this place, based off the insensitivity and lack of competency of the staff.
This awesome little coffee shop not only has great tasting coffee, the customer service goes above and beyond! Every time I come here, they make me feel like family. My dog and I met Karyn for the first time today and she was just an amazing person who made our mornings. Thank you Karyn!

Metropolitan Coffee provides a complete coffee shop experience. Metropolitan has wifi, parking, a patio, plenty of seating (with outlets), coffee(Rising Star), treats, friendly staff, Cleveland themed art and goods, and an environment that invites anyone to sit and stay a while.Additionally, it offers Yoga classes, participates in City Fresh, and is involved with neighborhood and city events.The southern corner of of Portman and Broadview used to be a closed convenience store. Now, its a locally owned, neighborhood focused business where anyone can go to enjoy coffee and each others company. It seems clear that the purpose of Metropolitan is to provide a quality environment and experience to everyone in the neighborhood of Old Brooklyn and the greater Cleveland area. It does just that.

Tried this coffee shop for the first time with my adventure buddy and we both fell in love with its atmosphere and refreshments immediately! The coffee itself was phenomenal, allowing the buyer to add their own creme and sugar to liking while finding a comfy spot to enjoy! The baked foods were delicious as well as fresh. The interior design was very homey and welcoming. I highly recommend this coffee shop.

Update: 5/3/19, I just tried the Brazilian coffee and it is my new favorite! Thanks ladies. Yum...and that Blueberry bunt cake was very tasty too. 2018 - Finally a great spot for coffee and a nibble so close to my neighborhood. I would much rather come to a locally owned coffee house that has such a friendly and inviting feel to it then a chain. It is a very good addition to the Old Brooklyn area. The overall look is very appealing inside and out. Its about time that there are more new businesses taking up occupancy here. I also saw in the paper that in mid-July Lilly Handmade Chocolates will be moving into the area too. Just down the street from the Metropolitan on Schaaf Rd.. They are moving here from Tremont. Wow, great coffee and great chocolates how can you beat that!

Love love love this coffee shop! I tried it on a whim a few weeks ago with a friend and now it is our go-to coffee shop. Sorry Starbucks! The chai latte with vanilla is absolutely decadent and the coffee is delicious. Not to mention the cute pastries and baked goodies ! Love the atmosphere, love the snacks, love the beverages, love everything about it!

Wow what a great environment at which to enjoy some great espresso drinks. Inside or outside the place is meticulously decorated and comfortable. They sell cool Cleveland gear like books and prints. The customer service is top notch and the blueberry cream cheese muffin was fantastic. Its in a nice quiet neighborhood, too. Go enjoy a coffee here!

Cute, quiet cozy spot. I was impressed by their alternative milk options.... they dont have almond (or any nut based) milk since they advertise as a nut free zone, but they have flax milk and oat milk, which I thought was pretty nifty. Solid place to kill time or do work.
Coffee was perfect and the peach muffins was delicious 😋. Currently only doing walk up or drive thru, but they have a lovely patio to enjoy you goodies on.

Some seriously good coffee. My favorite is a DCL (Dirty Chai Latte). The workers are so friendly. The place is super cute and cozy inside. The bakery items are delicious as well.

The decaf americano was very, very week and the espresso had to much floral notes to it. Even had the barista make it a second time and it was still not very good. Probably wont be going back. The Barista was very nice about the ordeal and offered a free pastry...just the coffee wasnt very good.
Its clean and inviting. Theres a conversation area with comfy couch and upholstered chairs surrounding a coffee table (yeah, thats right!). There are other types of seating areas too, regular tables and chairs and a counter with stools. Their two bathrooms are unisex.
Went here to do grading because I didnt have WiFi at my house. Coffee was really good and it was a really cozy part. There were people there but it wasnt overfilled so that you felt you needed headphones or anything. They seemed to have a pastries but i didnt try any. They smelled good though.
This is another example of a neat little oasis in the middle of our neighborhood. Classy, clean, great coffee selections and delicious pastries and other offerings. Try the grits with bacon and cheese! They have cream cheese and cinnamon muffins and super scones. Outdoor seating, adequate parking and they have yoga class on the schedule. Peaceful safe space to get a latte and a snack.
