Honestly every time Ive gone recently I always walk away disappointed or felt wronged. Like a friend of mine got a Ork half of one of those starter sets. He was told everything was in there but it was missing an entire model and all the bases. The owner assured us everything was in their sense he looked at it. It was also sealed in tape that was not factory. We were not allowed to check inside to make sure it was all there. Real shady. Also the prices are all marked up. Negotiating is a total nightmare.Edit: Check comment what wonderful customer service from this guy and total lies. The owner told is it was complete.
Awesome store to visit and browse, they had stuff just piled to the ceiling from modern to old, OLD and everything in between. They carried miniatures from just about all the games and their boardgame section was like a treasure hunt. We drove 2 hours just to visit and werent disappointed.
If your looking for TTRPGs they have a library full of everything you can think of. A bit of a labyrinth but still great!!!
Amazing the amount of old school games and miniatures in stock!
Warzone Matrix is a fantastic wargaming, tabletop, MTG, and RPG shop. The staff consisting of Tom and Chris are both knowledgeable and friendly in conjunction with the large selection of both retro and modern games and kits make the shopping experience enjoyable at the very least. My current issues with the store stem from a combination of the location of the store being in one of the less amazing sections of Cleveland and the fact that the store is a mess. I love the idea of this store so much but years of dust, boxes of unsold product cluttering aisles, the lack of consistent lighting, and the lack of an adequate play area really hampers the experience for me. I still reccomend that if youre into warhammer 40k, AOS or any of the other myriad games available then you should check them out. At the very least a cleanup is definitely in order and anyone walking in should be aware of that at least.
Tom always helps us everytime we come in! Hes great!
Stock is fantastic, chaotic layout. Not handicap accessible. God help you if theres a fire.
What an experience! Very knowledgeable staff with great recommendations! Unbelievable selection!
All games for all interests. Stacks upon rows upon piles upon racks of games, to the point where it can be claustrophobic. But there is no more comprehensive store for RPG, CCG, miini, board, etc game in northeast Ohio. Just be prepared to spend time navigating the halls like a level 1 explorer in a new mine with unexplored treasure.
If you are into ANY kind of board gaming, D&D or tabletop gaming this is the place! They have almost everything or can get it, as well as supplies to expand your gaming.
Great choices. Brings me back 40 years!
This place is a board game wonderland! If your looking for a out of print game or something new this is the place for you! The owner is very nice and knows a lot about board games!
Batting in a Road on Pokemon Go!
I dont know how this place got good reviews! It was filthy and disorganized. There were two entrances to the building. One entrance was open the other was closed. I walk through the open door and found myself in a room piled full of boxes and had to navigate my way to the front of the store. It would have been really easy to steal from this place. when I finally found my way to the front of the store I wasnt even greeted by the person at the register. There was an old dog there that continuously barked. Terrible service filthy and unorganized.
If you are for a game or a rpg book they probably will have it
Store is very dirty and products are not accessible, plus they charged me 50 dollars for Tashas Cauldron. Its a 30 dollar book max. Avoid this overpriced trap
Owner is very nice, its only cluttered because it has ten times the inventory of any other store
Best place in Cleveland to go for any magic and Warhammer fans
Has a massive selection of almost any minis you can think of. The owner is extremely helpful both with finding what youre looking for and with ideas for kitbashing/ adding flavour to your armies. Weekly visits have become normal for my wife and I.
Best gaming store in Cleveland, hands down! Trust me, Ive been to them all. Owner has great customer service and sense of humor. Weve been coming here for a few years now to play games in store and buy stuff, every few days in fact. Feels like a treasure chest, youll never know what youll find next :)
Only place around town with my model paint and the Dude is really cool. Nice dog too
Their inventory is incredibly deep and varied. Board games, collectables, MTG, Pen & Paper RPGs, Tabletop Gaming...they have it all. The store is super cramped though so be careful walking around in there.
Good selection, but smelled and layout like a storage unit and just as cramped.
While other shops may be nicer, Warzone has the most unique collection of actual games! Its set up like some mad wizards laboratory with stacks of games all over. If you are looking for something hard to find, chances are you can find it if you look hard enough.
This is an interesting experience to say the least. Expect to spend quite some time in here. Vast collection is an understatement. If you are looking for something obscure, out of print, or hard to find, then this is your destination! If you like yard sales, flea markets, Easter Egg hunts, or watch Hoarders, then you will absolutely love this store! Dont be afraid to open a box or move a stack because you never know what treasure you will find. The guy is super friendly and knowledgeable, so if you know what you want he can help you find it here in the Labyrinth.
The collection here is absolutely incredible. They have an extremely long history and a massive assembly of board games. Ive found items here that I think you simply wouldnt be able to find at any other board game store. Its simply impressive. My only concern is that something will fall on me, the organization structure is a bit precarious.
Been going to this store for years. Overall, a great experience for the gamer and person pursuing a bit of nostalgia from the past. The store has a great selection of hard to find and out of print items for the discerning collector. Its always great to meet and game with new people. If theres something you need, the owner is very quick to get it for you and will work with you to meet all your gaming needs. If it wasnt for a store like the Warzone and the committed owner who spends seven days a week from 12 to 10, I would have no place to game or people to meet to game with. Definitely a place worth visiting.
Great place, a bit unorganized but thats fine, great guy, great dog, great place.
Have a lot of stuff trading cards, mini figures, all types of gaming books. Can even find some older stuff. They take cards but prefer cash.
They accidentally sold me a box with half its contents for full price, but after going back they offered me a refund. I got to keep half the box while also getting the half I was missing refunded. Thank you Warzone. Make sure to open any old boxes/kits you buy in the store after purchase, since at one point it seems a distributor made a mistake(not their fault).
My new favorite place to shop! Aswell as the most amount of warhammer figures Ive ever seen in a shop. Owner is really cool and has the greatest selection of stuff definitely give it a try.
Incredible collection of games and gaming accessories. This establishment is literally packed to the rafters with merchandise. The proprietor is knowledgeable and friendly. This goes the same for the customers. The only not great thing about this place is that its a few hundred miles away from my home :(
The most unusual experience Ive ever had at a gaming store, but enjoyable. The entire store is piles of anything and everything game related known to man all laid out in a labyrinth of rooms. Worth a visit just for the experience or if youre looking for something hard to find
Have not went yet heard alot of great things about them when i take a road trip will be one of the stops. If u like magic go. If u like board games go. And if u cant find it then go there they can help.
This is one of the most awesome games stores Ive ever been to! It would be easier to list what they dont have than what they do! I was blown away by the selection of board games card games and just about anything you could possibly ask for!
I was in heaven. The people were friendly and they helped so much. I loved the atmosphere, and they answered my questions and everything no matter how repetitive it got. Even the other customers were a joy! When I would ask about this kind of stuff before, Id be laughed at and told the type of games arent made for me, but here I felt right at home and welcomed. I plan on coming back more often.
Has everything you could think of!
Great place! Tom is super nice and informative about where everything is and what you need to know.
Whether new release or vintage RPG, I found what I was looking for. Great shop for tabletop gamers of all sorts!
Owner was friendly and helpful. The selection is overwhelming but it is poorly organized. If you are looking for it, he probably has and can tell you were it is. Bring a flashlight and hopefully you have a lot of time but I loved it and it was worth it!!
I havent been to this store in 13 years but I am so beyond glad to see it is still here! I grew up in this store, the staff and customers were so helpful and welcoming to gamers of the are! Best selection of everything you could think of for gaming in the area.
Amazing gaming store with a HUGE RPG and miniatures inventory. A gem in the region.
I sold some magic cards here a few weeks ago. I know I got ripped off but I didnt mind too much because it seems like they need the profit. The store has a good vibe if you like clutter and are a massive nerd.
The man has everything, but its a pain to shop. No organization and a mess. But the owner is great.
They have a great selection and knowledgeable staff. A lot of hard to find and older items. Everything is priced above MSRP, including brand new items.
Extensive, and boy do I mean extensive, selection of games and gaming books. They have the full range of current D&D products, and lots of old rarities Ive never seen in person before just sitting on the shelves, alongside books I havent seen in over a decade (hardcover Nobilis! Ravenloft adventure packs with the original maps and supplements intact!). Lots and lots of miniatures, too. The place is just packed.
A great resource for all things gaming can be found here as well as the accoutrements to fulfill your gaming fantasy. There is plenty of table space, and enthusiastic ogglers to participant in whatever havoc you throw at them. The one reservation I have is there is too much product out and it makes it difficult to efficiently browse the wares. As an alternative Chris, can easily check his inventory listing and let you know if it exists.
If you love board games or miniatures you need to visit. The store is full to the gills with games, minis and supplies. You will have to dig around a little but what you find is truly awesome. If you are in search of a grail game start here!
Big 40k fan that stopped in for some random greyknight stuff and left with more then I thought I would. Huge selection
I found this place while looking for a magic/card trick shop, and it led me here. When I found it was a magic: the gathering shop I was disappointed, but that quickly changed. I took a second to peruse the aisles and I am telling you that there is no place on earth like this, especially in 2019. I quickly found something for me, much more than my intended reason for the visit. This place has such a collection of interesting things to be discovered. My personal trip led me to buy one out of the many themed chess sets (something Ive been keeping my eye out for). But they had so much more - custom miniatures, card games, collectibles, 1000s of board games it seemed. Anybody that searches the depths of the internet to find unique and interesting games and such should check this place out, because this place probably has lots of lost treasures.
Tons of great selection for gamers of all different kinds. Very friendly and knowledgeable too.
A great shop if you like the feeling of discovery that comes in the form of a seemingly impossible search.
I felt like I had a religious experience with this place!!!! Their was just piles of stuff but all just seemed interesting to me. They should consider expanding for how much is in this place and a lot of grails are stuffed in boxes. Regardless will frequently visit when Im not broke, hahaha! Always finding something new.
Im not a serious gamer but just popped in because I thought they might have comics. they dont. built they have every conceivable game. miniatures, board games, cards games, some figures, and magic cards. I gave no idea of the organization of things but sat down with someone who dug out the cards pretty quick
Store is definitely cluttered, but the employees know where to find everything. Never had a problem finding something I was looking for at Warzone, theyve got pretty much everything in stock. Prices are about what youd find at other retailers - no deals here but thats not a problem considering the size of their inventory.
This place is full of everything gamers want for their table. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Theres so much stuff crammed into this store youll be browsing for hours.
A little bit like if the Collier Brothers opened a game store. If youre looking for any kind of analog game, this is the place. If they dont have it, it may not exist, but they will place orders too. If you enjoyed a game in the 70s, 80s, 90s, or later they probably have a few copies. Mind blowing. RPGs, board games, wargames, minis, toys, books, everything.Be warned many items have no price tag. Youre probably supposed to haggle.
Great place for games - board games, war games, rpgs
Tom was super helpful and made excellent recommendations for our daughter who is into D&D
Great spot to play cards and more! Much more!
Best place for games! Always find something new :)
They were nice, they had a lot of little DnD figurines ill have to check out next time i go.
Called to get prices on some Magic the Gathering cards. Sounded really reasonable so I made the trip to the store. Got to the store and he acted like he never had the discussion with me about the prices and offered me way less than discussed. I wouldnt recommend selling anything here. Ground Zero in Strongsville is the way to go!
Rating solely on retail basis...the man has everything. Sadly lacking in a gaming area and as most locals know, more of a hoarders house than a game store but hey, he literally has every game known to man.
Warzone Matrix packs a surprising amount of stuff into its available space. There are multiple large shelves of gaming books, from D&D 3rd edition, to World of Darkness, and other lines like 13th age, L5R, and a vast quantity of Pathfinder Adventure Paths. The boardgame section is even more packed to the gills. There were also quite a few miniatures. The only drawback is that the space is used with an eye to efficiency, not movement, so I would not suggest it to claustrophobic individuals. Otherwise check it out.
This place is a disaster. I was scared that things were going to fall on me and you have to leave your way in and out of overfilled bookshelves. It was very hot and stuffy and the store person followed us around and kept talking to us despite the fact that we clearly wanted to leave. He was not particularly polite when we wanted to leave. I felt like I had to run out of the store to escape. Not a very pleasant experience at all. I do have to say that from what I could tell the storekeeper was very knowledgeable on the subject of the store.
A must stop if you are a Warhammer fan!! They have everything!!!
What a cool place. This store is well worth visiting. Is it cluttered? Yep, and its awesome.
It has a huge collection of games and minatures. I was very impressed with the selection. The prices were more or less right in line with the book price.
Wide variety of games, best place to go for all my gaming needs. Friendly and easy going staff.
Pretty much anything you ever need. This store is a Dragons hoard for nerds. A+
What is this magical place?!? Im still not quite sure. D&D, Magic, Warhammer, as well as a whole slew of other games is what you will find here. The inventory was kind of overwhelming in an awesome way (so going back for Stone Age). Another thing I really enjoyed about it was that most of the stuff there was quite cheap. There are lots of look at how quirky and ironically kitschy we are! sorts of novelty shops in Cleveland, but most of the ones Ive found are kinda overpriced. Like some people said, the salespeople are quite enthusiastic about their merchandise, but I didnt find the guy I talked to overly pushy. This was a totally accidental find for me, but I am definitely coming back again and again.
Great selection of rpg, magic and miniatures good guys there ask and they will find it love coming back
Its one of the few places left I can truly feel at home being as wall crazy nerdy as I am. The place is perfectly disorganized and the staff, while low on manpower, is knowledgeable and friendly. Weve nerded out on multiple occasions. I appreciate the cramped, homey feel of Warzone-Matrix, and I go there over other game shops.
OK, so yes this place is not is the best of neighborhoods, and walking in there it is looks to be something out of Hoarders. But for all of that this place has it all and if it isnt there the owner will order it or you didnt want it in the first place. Being one of the LAST game stores in the area this shop has hundreds of board games (which my wife loves) and thousand upon thousands of other gaming supplies. From new table top gaming books to used Games Workshop figures. The owner is nice and knows the products he sells and if he doesnt there is someone who he can connect you with who does. Dont let the looks deter you from this place, the selection and service make up for it ten fold. If you are about supporting a local business this is one of the ones I recommend. If you are looking to have a game night at home stop in and discover a local Cleveland store that should have everything you are looking for.
This place is a gem. A veritable trove of obscure and vintage games, many of which having been lost to the ages, I doubt you could find elsewhere. The owner is something of a wizard, with vast depths of knowledge and mysterious power that he bequeaths to those who share the drive of game life. I have seen other reviewers complain about disorganization and say they can find many titles cheaper on Amazon. Shame on you. In the age of the internet, independent game stores like this become even more important as a hub of culture and for the uniqueness experiencing it. Im happy to pay a couple extra bucks. The Warzone rolled a natural 20.
This is an amazing store. Virtually everything I ever wanted from a gaming store is sold at the Warzone-Matrix. I go back and forth between Star Trek: Attack Wing and Castles & Crusades, and old, out-of-print D&D from the 70s and 80s. The owner has so much stuff, that if he doesnt have it, he has a line on somebody who does. His prices are way better than eBay for hard to find stuff. Ive been to a lot of gaming stores around the country, and this place is different - it has so much that every time I go in, its like a little adventure. I could spend hours in that store looking at all the merch.
Perfect store 🤙
This is the most STOCKED games store I think Ive found! Great selection, the owner was friendly, and I cant wait to return.
I didn’t know about Riddle School Game on riddleschoolgamecom until a friend of mine told me to come and play it at riddleschoolgamecom
Old.school shop. If you like board games or know someone who does, you have to stop in and check it out.
Kind of a shady looking place....but the guy is very nice, extremely helpful, gave me a bit of a deal, and is an interesting conversation. Willing to go back!
Amazing collection of gaming supplies
Chris is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS GOOD to Me!
A great place for the game you play
The selection is gargantuan and spans from almost every era of every game you can name and some that Id never heard of. The main portion of the store is fairly organized and easy to navigate and find what you need. The back room, which the previous reviewer mentioned, is a bit of a piled menagerie. However, this is the sorting area and I must stress that it is not the main sale area. Personally, as a faithful nerd, this place is akin to stumbling into a cave piled to the ceilings with gold, jewels, and +5 Boots of Orc Smashing. The owner is very knowledgeable of the genre and has always been very helpful every time Ive gone in. There is literally something going on there every night and he stays open a lot later for that reason. As far as the marked up prices go, thats just the way it works for these small independent businesses nowadays. I usually stay exclusively local and I may pay more for it, but you will never get the same environment or sense of service that you do at the big chains. All in all the place is a wonderland of scattered handmade creations and gaming treasures and Ill proudly be a patron for as long as Im in the area
One of the greatest wargaming stores I have been to. I came here expecting some cool things and I kept finding things here that I saw online and didnt expect top see in the flesh(plastic?) at all. They have the usual things like warhammer, (including tons of old blister packs), reaper (bones, warlords, dark heaven legends, etc.) malifaux, battletech, ral partha, flames of war, mongoose starship troopers, and they even have a bunch of random old blister packs that probably havent been opened since the 80s when they were first purchased. And that isnt even mentioning their rooms full of board games. I even found stranger items like a Mega Bloks Dragons warchest here and Star wars micromachines. This store will definitely have something you want and even more things you didnt even know you wanted, and no matter how many hours I spend in here I never feel like I have seen everything. I cannot recommend it enough.
The selection is borderline overwhelming and the customer service is excellent. Im a novice and the gentlemen was extremely patient and helpful.
A bit cluttered, but cleaner & more organized than it used to be. The store can be a gold mine, and its much easier to find what youre looking for now. If you cant find it yourself, the owner is very helpful. A ton of miniatures, boardgames & RPGs.
A huge selection of trinket games from way back then to all the versions of the hottest new decks, die and boardgames.
The best place in Cleveland to get boardgames. Just wish it was bigger!
Decent card selection at just above regular price.
Love this pace, greatest selection of board games and miniatures anywhere.
Im a OTR trucker and the war zone matrix was 1 of my best favorite places to take a break and spend some of my hard earned money. this guy has it all. but dont try to make a cell call while youre in the store.. the walls are lined with miniatures. this place is like the Fort Knox of gaming. my route is recently changed and I miss going to the store. there you go Chris next time I pass by you better cut me a sweet deal buddy. ;)
If it has anything to do with RPGS this place has it.
This place has wall to wall stuff jammed everywhere. Stopped in looking for Battletech stuff and the owner was super helpful.
