My granddaughter is 20 months old her name is Josie and I love her to Pluto and back and each time I know Im going to see her I always purchase a few books for her. This was my first time at the Book Barn ever in living in Fresno for over 20 years I enjoyed it and the employees there are wonderful

Quaint location and atmosphere. They have amazingly wide selection of old and new books, in particular those hidden fantasy gems from the 70s as well as a nice selection of older edition classics (for great prices)! Also good to note they have a trade-in for store credit program :)

The fantasy and sci-fi selection was a little dominated by 80s paperbacks, but we did find more diversity in other sections. Unfortunately, an otherwise enjoyable experience was dampened by an uncomfortable conversation with a male employee who told my husband that he thinks hes being original, but hes not for wanting a more popular book. It was honestly really bizarre and we were just asking simple questions. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding? Still, it did make us uncomfortable. Not really interested in returning here, ourselves, but the selection is large and hopefully this guy wont be a problem for anyone else.

I won a gift certificate for $10 and was excited to come in for the first time.I was kind of surprised at how expensive their books are for being used. But they were in very good condition.And my brain had some issues with how the store is set up but that also made it a little more fun so...kept finding new nooks but was hard to know where to look for something specific. Also hard to find help to find books if you aren’t right near the counter.It’s cute but I don’t know that I’d go again as I can buy used books cheaper elsewhere.

The staff is great, welcoming, and there to assist anyone who needs help finding a book they are looking for. They also have a wide variety of books whether for college, for comfort, or research for great deals. I highly recommend giving this store a visit.

I love this store and staff. Im glad they charge enough to stay in business when most used book stores have closed. I support the Book Barn because it is a significant part of the quality of life, not a great discount but certainly enough of a discount.

Man I love this place. SO MANY BOOKS!!! Very large store, they even have an upstairs. Everything is very well organized & the store is very clean. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend :)

The place was cool! Nice and clean. The upstairs was a bit creeky. The first time I went, the employees were nice. But the second time, one of them tried to sell me a book higher than the price listed.

Very expensive. The question is the ratio of donated books versus books that were procured for resale (see their website comments). If it tends toward the former then the prices are tough to justify even burdening a storefront in a wonderful spot (beautiful old town Clovis). If toward the latter then this store is for people that dont know about the internet (eg Amazon.com).Other than that, it has better selection than most used book stores. Helpful, friendly staff.

This place is great! Ive been here a few times now because I needed books for school. I was so surprised when I found the exact book I needed! They have a wide selection and have really nice copies of classics. I got the origin of species here; the copy looked like new and it was only 8 dollars!! A Book Barn is truely a great little gem in Clovis.

The Book Barn is quite the gem for those who love to find used books. The staff is always friendly. There is plenty of seating for you to relax and read on. The prices are perfect. I love the atmosphere. Sometimes I show up just to relax!

Incredible place. The selection is unrivaled, especially for out of print items. They have some very rare items as well that will intrigue many book collectors. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Ill be back!

The barn of books. It does look more like a library. Unsurprisingly they have book worms, though not the wormy kind. It being a barn most of their books are domesticated but you will find the odd wild book hiding in their shelves. You never know whats lurking on the next shelf. And if you have ever wanted to finish a book but did not want the book to finish, you will find these shelves are much the same. If only they sold coffee and the days had more hours. Anyway I think they closed for a bit during the Rona but they are open now.Tl;Dr here there be books.

I absolutely love this place. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly. They truly get to know their customers and make you feel a part of their family. I come here often just to find something new to read and sit in one of their several chairs/couches that are hidden in the nooks and crannies. Its a lovely, cozy store and it has become a second home to me! Definitely check it out! Their poetry section is amazing too by the way! :)

If youre a book worm, youll love this store. I went in looking for a very specific book and found it easily. They have the books well organized first by topic and then in alphabetical order by the authors name. Plenty of cozy places to sit and read. Its kind of like being in a library but with the feeling of a cute coffee shop. Only thing missing is a coffee bar.

So many books. Their pricing is a little funny though. We saw a childs book that came in a McDonalds happy meal marked at $3. Thats almost as much as the meal. Otherwise everything else is great. Most fiction and childrens books are on the bottom floor and all else is upstairs. We come here a lot. A huge variety. Lots of things that would be hard to find elsewhere

Very helpful. Called in advance to see if they had item and also remembered they had stairs. Im temporarily on walker, he had me sit down, researched both upstairs and online, writing down what I was looking for. They have consistently always been helpful and courteous on phone and in person. They know their stuff.

Book barn is literally heaven on earth. I wish it was closer to my house in LA Co. Every time we visit Fresno/Clovis, we HAVE to stop in and load up. The prices are amazing, the staff is so kind and helpful... We even got to pet Joy the therapy dog last time! It is a wonderful place and Ill be back (again and again)!

Isles and Isles of books! They have two floors for you to look through. One caveat, there is so much that nothing is cataloged

Its a nice, quiet, comfortable place. Great if you love the feel and aesthetic of old used books as well as a good place to get some slightly used in good shape reading material. And for good prices !

I take my kids in on Wednesday for Mother Goose story hour. Always greeted with a friendly hello as we walk in the door. I have been able to add some great childrens books to our library without breaking the bank.

Love this place. Sure a tablet full of books is great for traveling, but nothing beats the real thing. Outstanding staff, eclectic variety of books in a unique two level store. They also do great events for the community.

This shop has a very helpful and friendly staff. The selection is large and covers many topics. Ive found fantasy and fiction as well as non fiction books on topics from animal husbandry to Yoga. The space is nice to browse and there are chairs where you can spend a little time deciding on a title. Ive found some amazing gems here and I will return to find more and more.

This place is LOADED with all kinds of great reads! It is laid out like a library with signs noting Fiction, Non-Fiction, Reference, etc.... Received a friendly greeting on the way in! Definitely planning a return trip!
