I HIGHLY DONT recommend this store AT ALL. they are VERY unprofessional and not a good source of business!! I prefer the NTB on Crater Road in Petersburg Virginia! I brought my car here Nov. 1st @ 8:30AM to get looked at, as soon as I went there the manager asked me if it can stay overnight in case they don’t get to it that following Monday so I said that fine I have no other choice! TUESDAY comes NOBODY there touched my car, I called later that EVENING & they finally touched my car to see what was wrong with it and told me the blower motor then come to find out I had to wait an EXTRA DAY. so I said that’s fine cause they said it was going to be available Wednesday EVENING. Wednesday Nov. 3rd comes i called around 3:25PM and asked if my car was ready the young lady said yes IT WAS AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP. I said ok thank you I won’t be able to pick it up today cause I do t get off till 5:30 and you guys close at 6 so I’ll come Thursday morning. THURSDAY morning comes and THEY STILL HAVENT worked on my car. just for the manager to claim he was waiting on confirmation for him to work on my car. mind you I signed something Monday for him to work on my car. you guys are a business and shop I wouldn’t drop my car off for you guys to work on it!! then charged $500 for the labor for my car to be sitting and NOT touching for 4 days. I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND. 🙂

Worse store ever i took my car for alignment they didn’t anything to even worse they make my car worse instead i took it to the other store in Petersburg and they help me with my car I highly recommend the one in Petersburg

If a ZERO was possible this store would definitely receive it. I had an 11:30am appointment on 6/22 to have 4 tires mounted on rims and install them on the vehicle. I dropped the vehicle off on 6/21 and when I went to the store 5 hours after my appointment time my truck had not been touched. The manager proceeded to apologize and said he would get it done right then. Well 6:30pm comes around and guess what. Still didn’t have the first tire changed. This store is absolutely terrible and deserves no service from anyone. However, I will give credit where it’s due. The service Manager Jessica was very polite and understanding of the issue and worked with me to get the tires put on the truck.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! I had an appointment for 10:00 am for tire replacement, my car sat for at LEAST 90 minutes before making it into the garage! My car then sat for another 2.5 hours to find the correct tires (tires they claimed they had at the time the appointment was made (MONDAY and it is THURSDAY). They apparently did not have said tires so they suggested a different brand and STILL took another 30-45+ minutes to locate (ON THE PREMISES) and install the tires. Alignment was also requested at 10:00 am when speaking with customer service and I was told it would be included only to find out it would be an additional fee AFTER the tires were already paid for and put on my vehicle.

Wife went in for inspection and oil change. Then decided not to do the oil change just for them to turn around and go against her wishes. As well as failing tires that are only a year old. Ones that are checked weekly by myself. Can the manager please look into the negligence of their employees. 1/10 wouldn’t recommend this place to any friends or family ever in the future.

First time I came here I was so disappointed—I had an appointment and waited a full 90 minutes before my truck was pulled in for a simple oil change, and it took an additional 90 after that. I figured they might have just been busy so when I needed one of my tires replaced I scheduled an appointment. Took nearly an hour to get my truck into the bay. the people who work here are pretty nice but they don’t honor appointments over unscheduled issues so you might as well just walk in without one and get ready to wait.

They got me right in. Greeted me by name before I could even sign in. Quick, efficient, and helpful. Great job!

NEVER AGAIN. A long story short-my tire pressure light was coming on so I brought my car here to be looked at. I was in the middle of my work day and rushed. I left my car and trusted they would find and fix my issue.I was very wrong-I was sold a tire I didnt need at all and left without my problem being fixed. My tire pressure light came back on the very next day and I was driving around with a DIFFERENT tire reading 15 PSI. This place didnt even check all of my tires. All I needed was a patch to the CORRECT TIRE ...one that another repair shop only charged me $15 to fix. Shouldnt this place have spotted that?Its a shame that businesses dont even care about being ethical. I would rather have been turned away than to spend $100+ on an unneeded tire and be placed in potential danger driving around on a tire losing pressure and potentially experience a blow out.

I will make it here even if I pass soo many places that I could just put air in my tires. Always, nice and attentive. I had only two lights on my dash when I got there, they said I was done - then there were three lights on! They really took the time to put the diagnostics machine on my car, and care for me and my truck - even though there were only two ppl working. Left with no lights on.. Above and beyond!! Thank you

Cant leave a zero. Made an appointment to have my front end alignment done before work, only to arrive and be told it would not be done. I was told when I made the appointment it would be ready by 4:30, but no.

Great deals. Worse management had appt at 1030 to replace 4 tires. I sat the entire time in my other vehicle and watched 11:30 bays open car still outside 12 car goes on lift 1230 two tires come off 1:30 last two tires come off call them and get told 45 minutes car will be ready 2:30 tires get put back on 3:00 goes to alignment 4:45 get call car is done.

Horrible customer service. Not enough people working to handle customers. Did NOT fix what they claimed! Did NOT test drive game me a broken vehicle back where I could have wrecked!!!! Mechanic admitted he did not test drive my vehicle! Guess bc Im a woman they thought I didnt know anything! 🤦

Second time here with an appointment and the the first time for an oil change the wait was 1.5 hours. The second time we arrived at 1130 and its 230 now to put on 2 new front tires. Still waiting. The place is disgusting and filthy.

AWFUL.Had an appointment at 11 and they never moved the car until 1 o’clock,they had serviced everybody but us..completely ruined my day,will never go back.

The gentleman at the front counter was respectful, but some of the employees were a bit cocky and disrespectful, good thing it was my only time going there .

After having an oil change appointment, I still waited over 90 minutes. No floor mat covers were used. Greasy dirty foot, boot print was left on my otherwise clean floor may, the bottom of the drivers door, was also soiled, from the techs dirty boot scuffed it, the baseboard between the door and the driver side floor mat. I had to ask 3 times for the dashboard oil change due, be reset to 100%. But never was. I have the pictures to prove it. It was an overall neglectful Treatment of my vehicle.

The worst experience ever. Had an appt for 4:30p for an oil change. It is now 6:40p and Im still waiting for my car. Staff is nice but no way it would take this long for a simple oil change. Never again!

With rare exception, the service writers price the job correctly, give accurate completion times, and reviews the work order in detail before starting a job. Best to make appointment in advance, and drop off vehicle.

Keith Cadnum & Sandy were amazing, extremely friendly & welcoming. This was my first visit to a NTB, I would definitely come back. Keith lighten the environment with his comedic humor. Sandy & Keith definitely put my mind at ease. Both of them were vastly knowledgeable, I immediately could tell that they both were seasoned vets, It was overall a 5 star experience.

Dont know what is going on in that place, I was told they dont take reservations for state inspection. Was told it is first come first served. I was the first one in the door and still waited more than 3 and 1/2 hrs for service. Last time doing business with this company.

You will pay a higher price for the same service some wall else. My son needed an Inspection, he was there at 8:30 AM and got his car at 4:35 PM. They told him it would take a couple of hours? Not worth the money.

Lazy staff. Visiting my kids in Colonial Heights from Virginia Beach and needed a tire valve stem replaced that got damaged from highway. Showed up prior to closing and was told they won’t do it.

Jessica was great with explaining to me, what was going on with car. I watched her in action with other customers and she gave good customer service each time.

Very friendly and knowledgeable people work here. I had two new tires put on my car in no time. They do quality repairs, state inspections, tires, etc. I feel a lot safer now driving my car. They work with you within your budget.

These guys are awesome!!! Had a flat tire on the side of I95 on a and Sunday Evening at 430. (They close at 5) Steve told me to bring it in and if it was 5 they would have someone there to take care of me.That is great customer service!!!! Thank you so much. Yall make a bad day better! I have to admit, we showed up at the right time. This place had a great deal on some tires. We got them mounted and balanced. Then we got the front end aligned.These guys did a great job and were super-nice and friendly.Do not hesitate to do business here.

Walked in and waited for about 15 minutes for someone to address me..so I walked out.

Horrible, wait time for a scheduled appointment took forever, watching the guy doing my tires made me sleepy,, moping around, talking, no motivation at all to finish work or do it...took the guy an hour and a half to change four tires and that 2hrs after my scheduled appointment before he even started..smh..not to mention how filthy the place was

Keith (Manager) and Ray/Roy (Master Mechanic) explained what likely happen with my brake pedal going to the floor after taking the boat out of the water and applying the brakes on grass. ABS may have intervened to prevent a spin. All appears to work fine now, will really test it this weekend pulling my trailer and motorcycle into the hills of NC. Thanks for your patience and taking the time to explain everything. Appreciate RJ as well for keeping me informed along the way.

My vehicle was fine when I drove in for an oil change. After changing my oil the sales rep recommended two other repairs. Once done I noticed the oil light was on and making a noise. Had to take to the dealer for repair. NTB filed a claim and ultimately took no responsibility. Horrible experience as No one told me there was a problem with the oil change until I paid for additional services and had to bring the noise and oil light to their attention as this was not present upon arrival.

Absolutely horrific experience with customer service and zero accountability for numerous inconveniences. The manager had no problem throwing another employee under the bus who was actually the only person who had any problem solving skills.

Employees are nice and professional however management is not well educated on their equipment. Called days in advance to see if they had the ability to mount over sized tires on a set of rims and balance them. Being that these are over sized and not many people do it in this area all details were given size etc, the manager explained that this wouldnt be an issue gave a price, and said to bring them in on Friday at 11am. Fast forward to Friday, tires and rims were brought in and unloaded from trailer with the employees (nice guys) and the manager (same guy that gave all of the information on the phone) came out and said no we cant handle a tire this size (38s) and also wouldnt be able to mount them on chrome rims either due to not having plastic tips on his equipment to not scratch rims when putting the tires on. Waste of a day for a manager not being educated on his equipment and services, as well as not listening to a customer request over the phone before scheduling an appt.

They have been taking care of my car for close to 8years now. Never had an issue with quality or pricing.

I show up on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. My tire has a slow leak and needs a simple patch. I get told that I would have to wait until 8 for it to be fixed. I was a walk in so I understand. They ask if Id like to make an appointment, so I do for Friday at 7:30 AM. I get there at 7:20. I wait until 7:50 and they still havent taken my vehicle back to look at it. I ask how long before they can take it back and am told in just a minute. I tell them I have to be gone by 8:30 and am told that they cant have it fixed by then. This is now the second time that this has happened to me here after a similar incident last year. Dont make an appointment here and expect to be out in a timely manner.

Made an appointment for tires to be replaced took and hour and half for the car to get in the bay. Tires have been off the car for an hour and have literally watched the mechanic walk around looking confused for 30 minutes. I was told it would take 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes for my car to be done. Garbage

We are on a road trip and had a flat. So we called around to find a tire replacement and asked for a specific tire. They said they had four. We asked them to check. (I guess lied and said they did.). We set up the appointment for first thing the next day. Guess what?? No tire when we show up at the shop. Worst part? It took them an HOUR to tell us they didn’t have the tire. An HOUR. Now we have to scramble to call other shops looking for this tire so we can get on the road today!

Vehicle needed tires. Prices good. Didnt wait long. They fix another small problem my son noticed.

I had made an appointment for an oil change 3 weeks in advance for 4:00 pm. They didnt take car back until 4:31pm. Needed to get car inspected. No inspector working. I was told by Manager to come back on Saturday for inspection. Came back right after they opened on Saturday & he said I would have to leave my car there & they may get to it Januarys 1st or later. Thats just ridiculously to even say that to a customer. To leave my car a week there for an inspection. I went to one of your competition & will NEVER come back to NTB. I got my car inspected somewhere else that morning in less than 30 minutes.

I have been to this location even when it was Merchants. However I recently went for oil change and tire rotation. Got oil change but the didn’t rotate my tires. The reason I know this is I needed air in my 2 left tires. They told me they reset my sensors. Funny in 500 miles the same 2 tires came back up as needing air. If my tires were rotated the opposite side would show needing air😩

I made an appointment for 11am on April 16, 2019 for a slow leak in my tire which they installed. I get there at 10:45am tell them that I am on my lunch hour. At 11:45 am my truck is now going in the back. I was going to have them put new brakes on it next week looks like someone else will get my business. They were not busy.

Had to reschedule. Not my fault theirs behind on jobs and call outs. In this heat not happy.

We had a great experience getting my cars oil changed today. Keith was super quick and helpful and made us feel like we were in good hands, we were in and out faster than Ive ever been with any car company. Went there due to some tire concerns, was advised that all four tires would need to be replaced and trusted the judgement of mechanics/ tire techs that worked there. Huge Mistake. After replacing the tires I ran into multiples issues and had to take the SUV back multiples times to ultimately argue with the manager until there was an understanding that when you align a vehicles wheels without the steering wheel straight it can cause issues.After still having issues and being unable to deal with the incompetence that is dished out at this shop I began seeking assistance from other local shops and then the dealership as a last straw. The dealership gave me some very unfortunate insight into the face that the wrong size tires were put on my SUV causing the repeat issues that I was having. Pictures attached for reference. I reached out to NTB customer service and get email acknowledgement that these are the wrong tires and will not replace even after accepting liability.Unacceptable experience.

Broke my center cap, tried to hide it, didnt rotate tires, and still charged me, and alignment is still way off. Tried to save money going here...definitely not worth it!!

Very nice staff. They were personable and willing to help me an hour from closing when my tire blew out. They set me up with a good tire in a reasonable amount of time.

The 2 men working in the front office were very rude. They were too busy on their personal phone calls to show any compassion for their customers. When they could not find the leak in my tire I have had for 4 months, with warranty, they told me they couldnt do anything. I explained I had been adding air weekly for couple of months and now its gotten to be daily. I had the shop fill them up the day before, and they could see the tire was low. The gentleman from the shop area was very nice and filled the tire. Thats all the help I got. Tires are expensive. I spent over $600 putting tires on my vehicle. I am retired, and thats a big chunk of money for me. I am very displeased with the service I got.

Maybe I have good luck or great karma, but the past 3 times I have been to them I could not have been treated nicer or fairer. One for rear shocks, short wait, good price and friendly service,second for rear brakes and busted front brake line, short wait, fair price, friendly service, thrid time I went in for a leaking AC line. 3 other shops had checked the van, and all they could or would say it was leaking but they did not know where, they could not find the leak. The a/c guy,sadly I forgot his name, spent almost 2 hours filling the a/c and looking for the leak. He finally found what others could not. I was taken to the van and up under it to the rear a/c lines and shown where the line had rubbed on something, possibly the shock bracket, and had a rub mark and hole in the line. They could not fix the line because it is a disabled van with so wild underside modification on it, But they took the time to help me find a place that would do the repair work at a more than fair price and in a good time frame. Again, maybe its luck or maybe its karma, but I have always been treated with respect, work always done correctly at a fair price and in a friendly manner. I would not hesitate to go back to them or to recommend them to a friend. And I dont know anyone there as a friend or relative, but would like to consider them as friends.

Worst place to even come came and bought a tire from them and tech comes out with gOily gloves and touching all in my car and on my steering wheel very unprofessional would not recommend

I have been coming to this location for years and have always recieved wonderful service. I really feel like these guys, (especially Keith) deserve some recognition for ensuring the safety of my vehichle. He knew that I was looking to get an inspection done, but I missed the cut off for the inspector. He called to update me during the proccess of an oil change and new tires to suggest other things that were needed on my vehichle while it was in their care in order to pass inspection (new brake pads and windsheild wipers). I never feel that they suggest anything that isnt necessary. When I took my car in, it was making a rattling sound. When I picked up my car, the strange sound was no longer an issue. I always feel satisfied and safer with the condition of my vehichle when I drive it out of their parking lot. THANK YOU NTB! ❤

I was traveling south to Florida from new Jersey the other day and in the left lane on 95 my wheel started getting loose and grinding wasbt sure why. I managed to drive slowly at about 5 mph to the Hilton across the street at 3 am and at 730 am went over to merchants and had my truck in and out in less than an hour! They replaced my wheel bearing and got that part from the parts place and had it installed in that short amount of time and had me back on the road to Florida! Great job by them i was impressed

$20 oil change... cant beat that. And they get the work done in a timely manner

I came to the store at approximately 1700 hours to check on a tire with slow leak. Waited 2 hours once job was done asked the tech what was wrong with the tire he explained, went home woke up next morning and notice a flat. Contact store explained that my vehicle tire is flat, brought vehicle back into the store to see what the issue was again. Left vehicle for 5 hours. Pick vehicle up went home tire flat again. When you suppose to repair the tire and make it worse come on. Spoke with one of the agent he lied as well as the tech that did the vehicle on what was wrong. Will never recommend this place to anyone service not good and over priced as well as waiting time.

We had a flat tire on a snow day and we were so lucky that they were open since all other shops were closed and not open the next day (Sunday). They were very friendly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They also were very quick and efficient.

I had the tires balanced on my car for $46.00. The weights on the front tires were hitting the suspension when the car was turning or in a curve on the road. I called and made an appointment to get them rebalanced within a week. When I showed up at the time of the appointment, I was told it would be two and a half to three hours or I could make another appointment for later in the day. I ended up getting new weights and balanced the tires my self.

Very friendly staff. Went in for tires, ended up having to replace parts on the front end. They showed me what was wrong and was able to fix the problems along with an oil change and tires. I would recommend them highly.

I will not ever visit this store again. Waited six hours for a simple r vehicle reinspection. Never again. Not a good way to start a business relationship.

I walked in to inquire about the wait time for a state inspection and the response I got was both nasty and unappreciated. I understand it is the end of the month but a simple we cannot fit you in today would have been sufficient! Instead I got are you trying to leave your car with me until tomorrow (in a condescending tone)? I replied sorry, I know you are probably busy but I did not think it would hurt to ask. He proceeds to respond well its the end of the month what did you expect? Then he scoffed and walked away. I definitely will not be back.

Please do yourself a favor and do not do business with this Merchants location. The manager at this location (Chris) is HORRIBLE! He is the worst manager of any business I have EVER known. He is rude to customers who spend their hard earned money at their business. I was told that since I did not get my oil changed there or get my vehicle inspected there that he would not touch my vehicle. He even told me my vehicle was a piece of shi@ !!! I have contacted the corporate office about this guy. Hopefully they will be smart enough to realize he is doing a disservice to Merchants and get rid of him! If it had not been for his manager (George) I would have NEVER stepped foot in another Merchants. I was taken care of at the Chesterfield Meadows location by the nicest and most polite gentleman (Jeremy). I actually purchased 4 tires from him!!!!! Too bad Chris didnt get that commission!

Busy shop, took a while but replaced tire under warranty with no problem.

Originally had left a positive review for this establishment but after they lost the key to my wheel locks and took 5 hours to put on a set of new tires with an appointment, my opinion has changed. I do not recommend NTB to anyone!!!UPDATE: NTB corrected their error by supplying me with a FREE oil change to make up for me having to purchase new wheel locks. THANK YOU

I was shopping for tire prices, so I went to NTB. The rep came out and looked up my tire size on the computer. He stated that he did not have my brand but the brand he had was 629.00 w/o tire protection. So I then inquired about the special of up to 200.00 rebate. He stated that it was only on SELECTED tires with emphasis on Selected like I did not understand what he meant. So I stated conveniently you mean the tires I need are not on the SELECTED list. He also stated that no one could beat NTB prices. I had just came from Discount Tires at South Park Mall who quoted me 619.00 w/o tire protection and 699.00 with tire protection. Mind you they said they will beat any price and he quoted me 629.00 w/o tire protection. So when I inquired further on tire performance and quality still comparing prices, I was told that he could put on any tire at any price I was requesting if that’s what I wanted. I informed him just because I inquired doesn’t mean I want cheep tires on my car. So I got the quoted and left. I then drove across the street to Walmart Auto Center, requested the same size tire with the brand I already have on my car, I was quoted 344.00 for four tires with tire protection and disposal. NTB needs to get less condescending sale reps and review their competition before advertising.

Terrible Experience! I would like to express my dissatisfaction and anger with Merchants Tire located in Colonial Heights Virginia! This is the first time I have used their services and it will be the last! I arrived at this store at 4:20PM and did not leave the building until after 8PM in the evening, they were very slow and I feel they should have given me a more accurate time frame to install new tires on my truck. If they would have been honest and provided me with the option to come back another day because they were very busy, I would have respected that but instead they had me wait almost 4 hours!!I spent over $1,500 with them and will be sure never to return.

NtB/merchants can get a bad rep but these guys at the colonial heights location are a bunch of good guys. Never any unforeseen problems that are critical. Trustworthy, Ive been a customer here for years.

Do not bring your vehicle to this place without an appointment. I was suckered into coming here on a Saturday walk in after being told I would be in and out in under an hour for a tire change. One tire. I walked in and confirmed again that it would take under an hour. Again they said yes, its only one tire. So I took my wife and 2 children under 3 years old and walked over to Sams Club for an hour, bought some food, only to return to find my car was not touched. With screaming kids and groceries outside, I asked how long it would be and was told another half hour until my car would be in the shop. I wouldve left right there but it seems the fort lee area customer service is lacking all around, so this was the best I was going to get. Finally got my car back 2 and a half hours later. Work installing the tire was fine, service just sucked.

Had us wait an extra hour because they were waiting for a lug nut. There werent any new lug nuts added. We brought to their attention that a lug nut was missing and they said they added one and didnt charge us for it. When we got home, we checked all of the lug nuts, and none of them were new. They had us wait an extra hour based on a lie and again lied about replacing a lug nut. If they lie about one lug nut, then what else are they willing to lie about?

Great team, they were busy to me but the manager said it was a slow day. Their professionalism was awesome and I would return and refer others.

The rating would be better, but customer service when calling for an appointment really brought it down. I have always enjoyed the personal service, especially if they recommend that a part needs to be changed and they show me the old piece. I dont feel like Im being taken advantage of as I do at the dealer or other service garages that I have gone to.Except for today. I called to make an appointment for a state inspection, and I was put on hold for 15 minutes. Then he stated that he had four vehicles in front of me and for me to just bring my car there and leave it. He also stated that they do not make appointments for inspections. Usually I get good customer service, but today he was very rude.

Go someplace else!! Terrible customer service, employees are unprofessional, they will overcharge and rip you off every chance they get. There are much better auto shops out there with honest employees.

Ugh just ugh. Always a long wait, always unorganized workers. Last time we came they ordered the wrong part 3 times! I am here now and a worker drove our car to see about the noise it was making and left work without telling the other workers what was wrong with the car now we have to wait another hour for them to just drive the car to figure out what is wrong with it... Ill be dammed if I get it serviced here, they obviously need more staff and better staff.

Tire replaced today, puncture in sidewall. Thank goodness for Road Hazzard ins. In & out quickly for a change!

Called before I went in and asked about a state inspection. Over the phone, I was told I could bring it in today and probably pick it up late tomorrow. When I go in, the guy behind the counter is telling someone on the phone the same EXACT thing I was told. Bring it today before 8. He asks me what I need, I tell him, and he tells me to bring it back tomorrow.... Before this, it was waiting 3 hours for an oil change I never got. Not going back.

Good place to go if you wanna wait 3hrs. For something as simple as an oil change
