Long story short: They saved us over $1000.The details: Our Check-Engine light was on. We first brought it to a shop were a friend of mine works. They diagnosed it as the turbocharger wearing out, and estimated $1600-$1800 to replace it. So we phoned around to see if we could get a better price. Accurate Japanese Repair said $1200-$1400, so we brought it there instead. But wait, it gets better! Before replacing the turbo, they re-checked it to be sure they agreed with the original diagnosis. They determined it wasn’t the turbo, it was really just a MAP-turbo boost sensor. They replaced that, and the problem was fixed for only $255! We were so delighted we had them fix everything else the car needed as well. They are our new favorite repair shop.

Ive been getting my vehicle serviced at Accurate Japanese Repair for roughly four years now by the recommendation of a few friends. They have always been honest, accommodating, and offer fair pricing. They can usually get me in within a few days of calling. If I wasnt moving out of state, I would absolutely continue going here for business. Thank you for your years of service on my Jeep!

I have been looking for a used car for about month. Most places seem to care less if they earn your business. Accurate Japanese Repair actually inspects and repairs their vehicles prior to sale, which I am not experiencing elsewhere. They also call you back when vehicles are ready for purchase. They let you know of any outstanding issue with the vehicle. Bottom line is they actually do what I would expect of all dealerships.

My family has been going to Paul for nearly 20 years. And we are a family that is very hard on our cars and very unlucky with some of the used cars we’ve bought. After all the work we’ve had done, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to take care of my car (and my mom’s car and my sisters’ cars). Paul is an honest and trustworthy mechanic, and a friendly guy who goes above and beyond to help you out.

I chose this shop after reading reviews online. I wanted a local small business with down to earth people, not salesmen, and this place is perfect! They don’t try and push added services on you and answer all your questions. I have a Prius that I have not taken great care of because I have hated getting my car serviced in the past. This little shop has taken such good care of me and my car without all the over the top marketing junk and the prices are fair. I’m a 30 year old woman and everyone I have ever spoken with talks to me with respect and makes sure I have all the information before they perform and charge me for any service (I know this is important for so many women). I can’t say enough good things about this business and the good people who work here!

It was very refreshing to deal with an honest and responsive car repair/maintenance shop! Unfortunately, it is difficult to find car repair businesses that will not upsell and/or charge exorbitant prices. Accurate Japanese Repair, though, provides great service at fair prices--Paul and his team provide an honest assessment of what your vehicle does (and does not!) need and really take care of their customers. Thanks so much for running your business with integrity...well definitely return in the future!

I had been looking for a specific car for a while and it had been a very frustrating experience to deal with most car dealerships. Just inquiring for a price requires you to fill out a lengthy disclosure of personal data - after which you get spammed with irrelevant offers and cold-calls for month. Not this place!! It is a small repair shop that sells a few cars per month on the side and my experience was nothing but pleasant. I was treated respectfully, known issues of the car were openly disclosed and they worked with me on issues like warranty, spare keys, tires etc. The price was fair and without any hidden costs or other surprises after the contract was signed. The shop is small and does not look like much but don’t be fooled by the looks. You will get first class service and a very personal experience. Big thumbs up from me .... I’ll definitely come back if I need a good repair shop or if I’m in business for a used car again.A happy buyer :-)

I would NEVER use this company. I trusted them with my vehicle for almost 8 months. Serviced my Subaru every 3000k miles. Had them run check engine light tests, and never recommended there was a thing wrong with the vehicle. I recently got my oil changed by them, 5 days later, engine blows up due to no oil in the vehicle. They are taking zero responsibility and the report they provided stated two reasons that have nothing to do with OIL CONSUMPTION. Then I just walked in to get my keys to get it towed to another expert because I will be sueing them, and the OWNER TRIED TO SELL ME A VEHICLE.Seriously, I save your vehicle, PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE! They take ZERO RESPONSIBILITY for their actions, and then once they total your car the fist thing they try to do is sell you one of theirs. I have never dealt with anything like this before. STAY AWAY!

I have a local business with a small fleet of delivery vehicles, and I trust Paul and Dan to service them all, as well as my personal vehicles. Their diagnostic skills are accurate and the repairs are performed quickly at a fair price. They have performed everything from simple services through a complete motor swap on my vehicles without a single comeback. They also discuss the work order with me-letting me know what repairs should to be done now vs the repairs that can wait awhile. I trust Accurate Japanese Auto Repair implicitly for all my automotive needs.

This place is nothing but AMAZING. I have been going to this place since before I could drive.(I always went with my mom, I was 14.) and when I started driving, I took all of my cars to them. (Im 30 now)I recently moved to Texas, so unfortunately, I have to find a place down here I can actually trust to take my car to. Its a difficult task because i believe there is no better place to take your car. Nowhere in Colorado Springs will find a more honest group of guys who actually care about their clients, the cars, and wont pull the whole your car needs this when it doesnt just to get your money. Not only that, they stand by their work which is again, nothing but amazing. My car is named Thing and both it and I miss this place dearly. Thanks so much for everything guys. :)

Best people around. They are cordial, communicative, and good at what they do.Edit: I feel I should elaborate on why I keep coming back. In terms of customer service, they answer every question Ive asked about my 20-year PoS car, ranging from should I install an aftermarket intake to how do i fix my seized bolt myself. Honestly, what struck me most was the fact that the techs remembered my name, despite how long Ill go between visits. When I worried about parts that needed replacing, they took a look, told me my options, and not once have they ever pressured me to spend money on something that didnt need doing. Every part that they have fixed and replaced, ranging from timing belt/water pump to oil gaskets and pan. Even if I got a non-Japanese car that they didnt specialise in, Id still go to them simply because theyre good mechanics, and good people.

I have taken a variety of cars here for repair work - driving chain replacement, axle replacement, tune ups, etc. I get great service - honest, practical, reasonable prices. Almost all repairs were done same day even if they had to order odd parts. Once while traveling, I had a problem with my moms car. It was never going into their shop as it was on the east coast, but they were willing to give some advice on the phone and confirm that I was getting a bloated repair estimate from a PA repair shop. Id been having some weird steering issues on my FJ Cruiser and asked Accurate Japanese Repair to take a look at the steering intermediate shaft to see if it needed to be replaced. When I arrived to drop off my vehicle, their parking lot and garage were pretty full and busy.. it didnt seem like there was any way theyd have a chance to take a look, but I was told that theyd diagnose the steering issues. I had mentioned at least 3 times how I suspected my issues were coming from the steering intermediate shaft.I made a point to mention that part a few times because they wouldnt acknowledge it. After having my vehicle for 6 hours they called to tell me that my lower ball joints were bad and needed to be replaced. I thought that was odd considering I had just replaced them less than 10k miles ago, and I asked about the steering intermediate shaft again, and again didnt really get an answer.I went to pickup my vehicle and was handed a very expensive quote for replacing my lower ball joints which I ignored. I asked about the steering intermediate shaft _yet again_, and was told that it was the ball joints. Then something really awkward happened: they started to tell me that my mid-travel suspension setup was all kinds of messed up, that I needed to be using a certain brand and type of shocks (basic OME instead of my King 2.5s with reservoirs 😂). I was also told that my Moog lower control arms were Chinese bull****, and that I better have a lot of money because my setup would be breaking frequently.I have 230k miles on my vehicle that Ive taken to all over the US/Alaska and Canada. Im aware of how often things break when you take a vehicle off-road regularly. Youd think that a mechanic would appreciate a client that frequently brings them business.I then scheduled an appointment with my mechanic up in the Denver area that Ive been going to for over 4 years, and within 30 minutes of dropping off my vehicle they had confirmed that it was the steering intermediate shaft. Oh, and my lower ball joints were indeed fine...Maybe dont give this place a visit if youve got more than basic needs on your vehicle? They didnt seem to be very technical 🤷🏻‍♂️ ...or I guess they have issues with working on Toyotas with mid-travel suspensions? I have no idea, but I wouldnt trust em — they didnt even look at my vehicle and made up an expensive quote for no reason.

Decide for yourself. On the Sunday of September 2th 2018 the timing belt on my 1988 Subaru DL started malfunctioning and I turned the vehicle off BEFORE it died, then I had it towed to Accurate Japanese Repair. Monday morning I called them and stated very plainly that it needs new set of timing belts and I DO NOT WANT THEM TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON or it might damage the engine!you can understand my frustration when the machine called me back and the first thing he said was we have diagnosed it and it needs a new set of timing belts cause when we started it ran really rough until it quit and won’t start!”he proceeded to give me advice that I should not keep this old car and should buy a newer car and this one is not worth fixing.I called him on the fact that he admitted to starting it when I left instructions not to. He did not deny that he knew that but said he knows that it could not possibly hart that engine.I said old car or not, low compression engine or not I didn’t want it turned on and that I do not want him to do the work on the car and I will have it towed somewhere else.Know is when he got very rude saying COME AND GET YOUR CAR! he said it twice and also that I owed 50 $ for diagnosing it!I said why should it pay for that, a diagnostic that could of damaged my car when I knew what was wrong with it.His reply we will not release the car with money owed for work done on itI said I am coming to talk with them in person. When I arrived with a witness (and I needed a ride remember) the older gentleman behind the counter gave me the key, I asked if the car will be release and he said yes and that I didn’t owe anything.I wanted to forget this whole ordeal it happened during many other stressful things. On having the car fixed including being put back in time I noticed the OIL PRESSURE was somewhat lower. I never lost oil pressure when I was driving it and the timing belt started to go, that’s why I turned it off I know a little about car preservation, and my car has two timing belts one dose the timing and other things and the other the oil pump and other things.I recently did the front brakes and noticed the right CV joint was half split in one of the valleys and after myself and a very seasoned mechanic examining it, the conclusion, it was cut very neatly! The CV joints were not oldThey were in tact on my yearly inspection on June 5th 2018The mechanic I had it taken to for the timing belts ( AFTER Accurate Japanese) is the same one that did the CV joints,I admit Accurate Japanese Repair can deny ever doing anything Diagnosing or otherwise on the Vehicle, After all I don’t have a recent for the so called work they did that day but the vehicle was towed from Accurate Japanese Repair on September 5th and I have a witness that was lessening to my conversation with the machine on the telephone.I guess there is someone working there that if he doesn’t like the car someone has he will try to make sure they will not be able to have it much longer.
