Horrible customer service. Purchased a Powerhorse pressure washer on clearance last week and tried to use it yesterday. Will not start at all. Manager stated it was on clearance because someone traded for a larger model. Now say I’m responsible for shop fees associated with checking it out because I didn’t buy extended warranty. Of course no one knows if shop checked it out before it was placed back on the sales floor.I would have no customers if I ran my business this way. Northern Tool now has one less.

They had exactly the set of wrenches that I needed and the staff was very helpful.

I often forget Northern Tool is around, and usually end up and Home Depot, Lowes, or Harbor Freight, depending on what Im purchasing. However, I recently found that Northern has a great selection and display of Milwaukee tools, and often carry stock of items that Home Depot may not have. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

What a nasty attitude from the woman who is the manager. I only spent $660 so I guess that warrants being treated poorly. If you dont like your job do something else for a living

Was kinda disappointed to find out the battery I saw online wasnt the same size (an inch longer) as quoted online. Ended up buying anyhow because of the drive I had made to the store. Will have to do some rearranging to fit it in my UTV.

To say that my business dealings with Northern Tool and Equipment were handled today ( 4-25-21) in a professional manner is quite an understatement!From the time that my phone call to this business was placed (as I phoned from out of town) until I arrived in Columbia and then placed another call about picking up my merchandise ... each was handled so efficiently.Finally, there was a young gentleman that brought my merchandise out to my truck and placed it in the back. What a kind person... I am thankful that our store in Columbia had the foresight to employ such a quality staff!

It was a bit slow but I think they were training a new cashier. Service was freindly and helpful. Great selection of tools.

If you need anything welding related please go to Harbor Freight. I went to this location for the first time to get some items for my son attending welding school. The first lady we got to stated she could not help us find the items that we were needing. She did not offer to get someone else to help either. Then the older gentleman at the register didnt know the answer to a question we had again did not offer to find help for us. I spent over $200 which could have been more had we received help. This caused me to find a different location that sold welding items (Harbor Freight St Andrews) I found everything there, prices were WAY BETTER and I received excellent customer service. The following day I returned all items to Northern Tool except my son shies. Please help your employees work on their customer service skills and find ways to help customers. I do not recommend this location.

Ms.Collen and her team were extremely helpful in assisting me in getting an item returned. No, problems with Northern Tool at all.The issue is actually with Power Horse and their safety issue with the 3 inch chipper/shredder. I will be contacting Power Horse next.

I needed 3 different tires for different projects. I got there and found better ideas which made projects easier to complete.

I recently took a string trimmer to their service department for repairs. The trimmer would start, and run but would bog down and quit working when I tried to run at higher RPMs. When I got the trimmer back after a repair charge of $102.00, $80.00 of which was labor charge, it would start up run and bog down when I revved it up. So basically I wasted my money trusting these people to do at least a halfway job of fixing it. At least I know now who not to take things to for repair.

Had just what I was looking for and a few other things. They do a military discount so thats a plus.

Like this place and products. Biggest problem is customer service. So difficult to find anyone. Today I was trying to get help and 2 people were helping one couple...that was frustrating. Never got assistance because both associates, a male and a female, both walked them to the front of the store...Hoever, lady at register was great and helpful

Good store for all things needed for outside work and most things indoors. Stores are nicely stocked. Only complaint is with online ordering. While Northern Tool offers a military discount it is not available with online ordering. Added to the fact that some items such as the one I am currently ordering there is no option for store delivery. If store deliver is an option then at least you can pick it up at the store and have them refund the transaction and then ring it up again with the military discount.

This trip was not good. I received a call that our riding mower was done and when I went to pick it up, the associate couldnt find it. He brought out several different push mowers🤪 it really does matter who is working if you want to get good service.

Cant get anyone to answer the phone. I have ordered and paid for a cart over three weeks ago. Now that I am calling about it nobody will pick up the phone. I live about 30 miles away from the store and dont want to make a trip for nothing. This has opened my eyes. I joined the club but now regret it.

Your check out is confusing when checking out with Pay Pal. After Check out with Pay pal. I enter my shipping option. push continue and then I get a screen that says Check Out with Pay Pal. It looks like Im about to make a second order. Change the the second Check Out with Pay Pal to Place order

Out of a sale item again. It was a good thing we were just stopping in on the way to another store.

Always a good selection of products, though over 1/2 the time it is not in stock at the local store, So I have to order and wait for it to come to the store. If I shop in the store I usually buy more, but when I order, I only go pick up, so I actually save by not shopping in the store!

Had a great visit, in fact super great, wanted to purchase a set of scaffolding, they were on sale, had a great experience, store manager MIKE went way beyond his call of duty to help me, was there on Monday and they were sold out, Mike took my name and number, and promise to call when the order arrived, sure enough, he called me on Tuesday and said they had arrived, he was putting my name on it, I went over this morning (Wednesday) and picked them up. Tool store. You find a mix of brands and types of tools. The staff is helpful. If you are friendly, and ask, be nice and get treated nice. Concrete floors like a warehouse, not a dainty coffee and biscuit shop. Nice variety of items, including work style clothing. Can use the catalog or online to find items not on the floor and have it delivered to your home or the store for pick up. Hours are great.

On june 5 I bought a STlHL Chainsaw. The salesperson took it in the back to make sure it started. After 30 to 40 minutes, finally I heard a chainsaw start. I dont know if it was my new chainsaw or one they had in the back. But Ive never been able to start the new chainsaw. When I returned to the store, a few days later asking for a refund or exchange. I was told they were unable to do that. It was their company policy. The repair man in the back said he was unable to start it. I was given the phone number to a supervisor Mr. Green, he has not returned my phone call.....June 11, nothing from Mr. Green. Sent CEO, VP, email...nothing....This is not a good company

They dont keep much in the store.they want you to buy online.we went to return a gas heater and of course they didnt have one and up sold a higher priced unit to my wife.if you buy their store brand be aware their warranty is garbage.

The store is always neat and clean. They tend to be a little pricey but have good quality items. They have many top name brands as well. Having said that, I can never find a person to help me with questions or item location. I understand keeping costs down but sometimes I just leave in frustration.

Literally one worker in the entire store a week before Christmas. Been waiting forever for service.Seems as though this store is perpetually understaffed. Great selection of tools and equipment, and clean. Just need to improve their customer service.

Bought a brand new stihl $300 edger and took it back a few days later because it would not stay running right. They have had it a month and now need it another week because technician is not in to fix it. This is totally uncalled for when I buy a brand new piece of equipment. Never again, I will buy local next time!

Items didnt arrive. Reordered items listed as in store but now it indicates they are not in stock. Looks like another goose chase!

Another customer treated poorly. Went three times for technical advice that was promised to me. Instead of offering the info, they tried to extort money from me by saying just pay me an hours wage and Ill plumb it for you. then when I came back to try to schedule the service, the tech was in a hurry at 230pm and couldnt give me a minute after I just purchased a piece of machinery worth $5000. Then when I asked him to just indulge me and look at the paperwork, he looked up, turned his head away and refused to tell me anything unless I paid him an hours wage. Then the other store employees sided with the tech. So if you might need help you should look elsewhere for people committed to a career not just doing a job or just holding up a shovel. Sad. They have the parts. But the people really are no more than stockers and cashiers. All of them, even the young manager acted like they didnt even work there and didnt see anything. And the tech obviously holds everyone hostage with a bad attitude. Im not just sad, Im angry. I dont always like everyone I deal with. But I deal. I dont shut down and get offended. I didnt just buy a machine. I bought service. That I must now go elsewhere for.

I have been a customer of northern tool since 1989 when I became a professional pressure washer,over the years I have probably spent $20,000 on pressure washing supplies,I have always recommended northern to my friends that needed a pressure washer for home use or starting a pressure washing business,I let people know that northern unlike Lowe’s or Home Depot had a service department,in all my years with northern I have never had to use the service department other than to order parts,I recently purchased an engine which I put into service several months ago - ( just for the record I have 18 pressure washers) this engine cut off and would not restart on my last two jobs which caused me some problems, this engine was under warranty so I assumed there would be no problem - I talked to the service manager,the manager,the regional service manager and the regional manager with no results over a $169 engine that had issues - they all talked to me like I was stupid,when I went to pick my engine (that was under warranty)they wanted to charge me $35 for running the engine,all they did was crank it up and let it run - - they did not try to diagnose the problem - to make a long story short I will never darken the door of northern tool ever,if anybody needs pressure washing supplies I would recommend water cannon on line shipping is free - - - having northern treat me like this after all these years is sad, you just lost a good loyal customer —- if you buy something from northern and think your you are going to get good service you are going to be disappointed

I’m in the commercial/Industrial world of tools and rigging. The equipment works great. If it does happen to break on the first few uses (we aren’t gentle folks on our tools) they have replaced with no questions asked. Couldn’t ask for a better partner in the contractor business.

Prices roughly 20% higher than home depot on the products I was shopping for.Shipping charge ($12 on my $100 order). Its 2020 get with it and do free shipping or at least free shipping on $49 plus.Only purchased out of necessity, if I had more time to shop around I would have shopped elsewhere.

Overall a great experience at Northern Tools. The staff was super friendly and helpful. If it wasnt for them Id still be stuck on the side of the road with a blown out bearing

Customer service was not on their list of priorities between 12:45 and 1:10 today. I literally stood seven feet from two employees, facing them as they were looking in a box trying to figure out something about the small heater inside. I waited for help and they never asked me did I need anything. They instead walked away, one then the other. I went to the register to get help. A senior is working as fast as he can. Line is now backed up. He calls for help at the register on the radio. No one responded😤. Six minutes past and this guy opens another register. I told him I needed help with truck tool boxes. I got the help but they did not have one in stock. Bottom line the employees did not seem concerned about the customers at all.

Not helpful at all. Have had a tool back for repair more times then I have been able to use it. The bills keep coming but the machine keeps breaking. I will not shop and Northern Tool anymore.

Just went in to ask about a pressure washer hose .But no customer service no one asked if I needed help no one even acknowledged that we were in the store we stood around trying to find someone to assist us but no one was available the guy at the register just stood there and looked at us .As for me and my husband we will never shop there again I wont recommend it to no one I know

Northern Tool is supposed to a high quality chain. The one here in Columbia is so bad, you would rather ask for customer service at a Walmart. Plus, the high quality, ultra durable trailer dolly was missing over half of the pins and screws that were supposed to hold the thing together.
