My favorite coffee place. Small business which is nice. Great variety of coffees.

For the many years apart that I have been coming to this place they have not fixed the urinal flush or the disgusting rusting partition. This is a business with zero pride of ownership. This is lost opportunity.

Way better than charbucks.

I just 💕 this place. Such incredibly fresh coffee. Just look at the crema from the bag of beans that I bought here.

MC is a great mix of regulars and new folks, friendly ownership and staff (I talk Ravens football with Bill, the owner); folks love the rich/varieties of coffees (Im a tea drinker, also good selection). And could not leave off without mentioning the biggest, baddest (Ron and I are always razzing each other; he usually wins), and the best sandwich maker in town! MGP.S. The outdoor seating is a little lahniappe as wed say in NAwlins (a place known for great food and good local coffeehouses). A great alternative to most coffee chains.

The egg & cheese sandwich I had was pretty good. This was our first visit but I wouldnt mind visiting again.

I love this cafe! It smells wonderful just to walk in, the staff is incredible. Nice, friendly, helpful. They have a case array of coffees. So many great flavors and in both regular and decaf. Havent ordered food yet, but it looks as delicious as the coffees. Great place!

I had a mocha here today and my wife ordered a slice of cake. The mocha was alright, however, I think Starbucks makes better mocha. It seems like the cake they served was a standard yellow box cake (to which they added icing and jelly). I was slightly disappointed in my mocha only because I had read glowing reviews of their coffee on Google. A staff member brewed the espresso in front of us, so we know it was fresh.The cake, in our opinion, should be taken off of the menu.The staff was very nice and friendly. The place smelled like coffee, which we loved. The atmosphere inside was inviting.

I called to place a carryout order for lunch. The phone rang quite a few times. When the employee picked up the phone & I told him I wanted to place a lunch order, he said I knew you wanted something- the phone kept ringing and ringing. I said, Never mind and hung up.

Serves best coffee around the area and economical than other coffee shops. Definitely must visit!

Awesome coffee! It was hard to make a choice with all the great options. They also have several really good loose leaf teas. The food options are good as well, some energy bars I hadnt seen before, bagels, sandwiches and salads, as well as muffins and pastries. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as efficient. The exterior is a bit underwhelming but inside it has a lot of character and a great atmosphere. Im planning my next visit.

We buy all our coffee here, even to bring on vacation. We get whole beans by the pound to ground at home (but they do fresh ground for no charge) and theres a rewards program for a free 1/2 pound after every 5 pounds. Between that, the kind staff, and the dozens of flavors to try, well be there every couple weeks for years.

Quick service, outdoor tables. Wish they brewed a dark roast.

About to finish my cappuccino; it has a good taste and is well made. Looks like I could have had a china cup but its my first time and I didnt ask. Steady traffic at 10 am. There is outdoor seating in the shade of the building! Theres lots of greenery despite the parking lot, so it is mellow here.

A great coffee spot that smells great when walking in. There are loads of coffee flavors here. I was super excited that the has a selection of decaf coffee, be it small, but glad it exist. I visited late in the day and didnt want to be up late at night from drinking a fully caffeinated cup 😅. I man wants a good nights rest!Im not giving it a full 5 stars because the good old coffee house vibe with its unique style, wasnt there. Yes, I would definitely come back because the food and coffee was good. However, I couldnt see myself actually wanting to hangout here.

Great little coffee shop located near Howard General Hospital and HCC. Great variety of coffees (both regular and decaf). Nice variety of foods and pastries (egg sandwich on bagel with sausage and pepper jack cheese was particularly nice with a good kick). Staff extremely friendly. Service great, even though very busy when I got there. All in all, highly recommended.

Came here, brought in by the enthusiastic reviews found all over the place. Was disappointed in the tasteless coffee (ordered a cappuccino) and box-cake style blueberry muffin. Very disappointed.

Went here today due to high reviews. I ordered the egg and cheese bagel because let’s be honest, it’s almost impossible to screw up an egg and cheese bagel.. wrong! This was the worst. I assumed it would be a simple scrambled egg or at least a decent artificial egg. What I got was the biggest artificial egg I ever seen in almost 40 years on this earth. And it had zero flavor. Then the small OJ I got with it cost $2.99, ouch! I wouldn’t come here unless your a coffee enthusiast.

I love this place, it had genuinely Good coffee. And for those of us that want a little more flavor they have tons of flavor options and let you do the milk/cream yourself so its just right. I adore their deserts, and am hooked on their tuna salad on Croissant! So good and fresh. The staff is always friendly and pretty fast too, which is appreciated on a quick lunch run :)

They’re out of everything bagels 75% of the time, for something so popular you think they’d make more 😐...

First time here. Love the coffee and the sandwiches with my kids. Service was great. Always asked what type of ___ I wanted. So that’s a plus for me. I like choices. One of my kids asked for a caramel hot chocolate. They said they would certainly make it for him.They also have ground coffee from all around the world.Plenty seating areaIf you ask me I would put all the ads/pamphlets in a bulletin board and declutter the over the counter areas.I would add a picture of my food but it’s all gone. Yummy.

First time here. Loved the coffee and sandwiches. They asked what kind of topping to have! I always forget. Service was great. Plenty of seating area. Tons of ground coffee from around the world to buy. Nice to hear they have live music. If I would change something i would make a bulletin board to put all these info pamphlets/ads out and declutter the counters.

The location is very convenient for me and I started going there recently. Their scones are really good. The coffee is decent. The wifi is strong enough for browsing. Ive seen some business meetings happen there over coffee. The staff are friendly and dont bother you. You can actually work there with good scones and coffee. They have some sandwiches which Ill try next time.

Everything here tastes great, so long as you dont mind waiting. Sometimes theyll be packed and only a few people working and the wait stretches on once youve ordered. Outdoor seating is great, depending on weather. No umbrellas at the tables. Always lots of parking so thats a plus too.

Lovely local coffeeshop and roaster offering a variety of brews, breakfast, and sandwich options. The club sandwich was phenomenal with extremely fresh produce and larger than Id expected. I like that they have multiple iced coffee blends available. Seating is plentiful although I can see it being a bit tight if you come when its crowded. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing. I visited on a Saturday morning with my group to buy breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The coffee did not taste like anything - very bland and lukewarm. I asked if we could get a freshly brewed cup (we had spent close to $30 here and I thought asking for a new cup of coffee would be fine) - one of the workers simply topped it off with two pumps of dark roast coffee. We always stopped by this place every time we were in the area, but were never returning due to poor quality of coffee and food as well as service.

A friend and I got breakfast sandwiches with coffee. My mocha was not impressive. Breakfast sandwich had a generous amount of eggs, maybe too generous. Friends sandwich was a little too salty. Nothing bad, but not that great. His coffee was excellent. Good atmosphere, very nice service.

Lots of food and drink options!

Met here for a business meeting. Its a basic coffee place with good coffee, plenty of seating, friendly service, and an array of lighter food items. The location is in an office building a block from the hospital, so theres plenty of parking. It serves its purpose and is a friendly little neighborhood place. No complaints - I would recommend.

Absolutely delicious cake! Great service at a sweet little old school coffee shop. Even have live music.

Barely consistent. Often times the lattes are watered down, and has no foam. Sometimes the coffee tastes old or it tastes like they dont clean out the containers. Usually staff who are being trained dont make the lattes properly. Sometimes when a different person (not the gentleman who is normally there) is preparing the wraps it ends up falling apart, theres too much sauce/mayo, its wrapped strangely, or theres ingredients in the wrap that isnt suppose to be in there.Ill most likely just buy their beans.

Not only did they make my drink the wrong size, when I brought it up to the girl (politely) she had a huge attitude and refused to remake it to the correct size. Its sad to be spoken to in such a manner. Will not be coming back and will tell my friends and family to steer clear

A little hard to get to if youre not familiar with the area, however this place has some excellent coffee. 5 flavors on hand and much more to choose from if you would like to take a pound or two home with you. Good breakfast sandwiches too and a nice dining area.

Always a great cup of coffee. Live music on Fridays is great. Local artists, nice company and delicious coffee.

Love this place for its many tables, being a chill spot to study for hours and not feeling pressured to buy much, its wide variety of beans to take home, the quality of the coffee regularly served, laid-back atmosphere, plenty of natural lighting, and later hours than most local cafes.If the service were quicker and they had more interesting food selections, Id be here all the time. Food is pretty good but its standard sandwich stuff like chicken salad and meat and cheese sandwiches.

This place is close to me, so I go whenever I have a chance. The warm, welcoming, and cheerful atmosphere is a great place to have coffee or a light meal by oneself or with loved ones and I have often heard positive feedback from loved ones, so cant complain and dont wish to do that!

I really like the Cafe Americana and Italian soda. One time I had them make a cinnamon Italian soda and it was the bomb. Ive been chasing the dragon ever since!

Great sandwiches

A small gem of a place that is located in an unsuspecting business building. The decor is fairly old and the interior is not so inviting (Ive been coming here for over a decade and they pretty much have the same old furniture), but their coffee is spectacular! The staff is very friendly to boot. Decent food menu too if youre hungry. Great pick up and go coffee shop but Id chose another place with a more pleasing environment for occasions such as first dates/meets.

House brewed coffee was not bold enough for me. Not much variety of eatables either. Environment and service was comfortable

The coffee is great, ample alternatives to dairy for your beverage. Servers are nice and there are lots of food options (vegetarian, not so much vegan). The wifi can be a little spotty.

Roasted coffee in house! Amazing variety. Best coffee we have had since we moved back from Holland. Staff is nice. Place is clean. We are looking forward to catching the love music one of these days. Its a nice place to meet your neighbors!

Nice non-starbucks coffee shop and much better than that old hackneyed coffee franchise. Mad City Coffee House has an excellent array of coffee drinks, very good freshly prepared food, the friendliest service. The crowd is a non-smartphone addicted crowd (except for me). They are so friendly and sociable that, I pocketed my phone to be sociable. They had a good live, classic rock band that everyone enjoyed so much that many were dancing (In a coffee house!).The drinks were excellent, the food was good with lot of healthy options, the entertainment was enjoyable and FREE, and the crowd was friendly.Its a definite must go back to place.

Trying to open a cool coffee shop is the dream of many and the accomplishment of few. Mad City Coffee has earned its place among that rare few. It is hipster friendly without being obnoxiously hip, and they put real efforts into quality drinks. Despite the reputation of coffee shops being filled with people tapping away on laptops, working on their novels, sneering at the suits who cant appreciate good coffee, Mad City is usually pretty empty, barring one or two tables with a group of people chatting. This makes it a perfect place to work on my novel and sneer at suits. I jest, mostly, but its seriously a great place. Its probably for the best that I dont work near enough to make it a reasonable trip, or I would be broke.When my daughter was born at the hospital nearby and I was too delirious to drive, I walked to Mad City and a big iced tea restored my sanity. Thats the other nice thing; they dont take part in the tea vs coffee wars, their tea selection is just as impressive as their coffee selection

Mad City has Singer songwriter music on Sat nights. There are great sandwiches, and smoothies as well as coffee. Service was great.I had a good time.

Just an ordinary coffee stop. They only offer soy milk or regular dairy... I can have neither. The coffee was just alright, and they completely forgot to make my husbands order.Credit card machine was broke and was written down manually.People behind the counter were eating and talking... my husband had to interrupt them to get his order done.All the employees looked and acted like inexperienced teenagers.Stop trying to be hipster and work on efficiently.We wont be going back.

They have a very large variety of coffee which is impressive as well as tea. A lot of tables to hang out at. Service is average. Ambiance is average. It’s an alright coffee shop. But nothing that I’m going to brag to my friends about.

Always like the home-town feel of this place! Great fresh coffee and sweet baked goods. Had them lightly great a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate cake - rich and smooooth

Very good coffee and sandwiches. I have not yet had the pleasure of their baked goods, however I will be back another time to try those. I also love the personal attention the staff gives you. Very much a small town feel to their environment, rather than the corporate chain mentalities.

Not the comfiest environment for studying/reading but the coffee is great, they offer yummy daily coffee specials which is cool, food is delicious, staff is super friendly, and tables are cleaned often! However, it was crowded and Id regret not reporting that both times Ive been here there was an older white woman who was openly spewing racist remarks. My friend and I were victims of her ignorance during one of my visits. The staff apologized on her behalf, explained she has mental health issues, and informed us they would say so something to her the next time she came in, but it made the visit very uncomfortable for us. Overall, great coffee shop & breakfast/sandwich shop!

The coffee drinks are good. The buffalo chicken wrap was terrible! There was more wrap and lettuce then chicken. Will still go there for the coffee drinks but will get my wraps somewhere else.

Ive been here several times for breakfast. Lines can be bad, but the staff moves as quickly as possible. Coffee is great! Breakfast sandwiches are the best on the lake. Easy and quick way to fuel fr the day.

I love this cozy neighborhood coffee shop. They have indoor& outdoor seating. Their coffee selection is awesome and the food is delicious. Their evening concerts present a variety of music.

Nice place pricey but good

Nice little coffee shop with good ambience. A little pricey compared to other coffee shops ($2 for a small hot coffee but refills are .64). Came here to study for my NCLEX exam and it was the perfect setting to work done! (Keep in mind though i came around 4 when it was really quiet) They have outdoor seating and were playing the Olympics inside which made my day. I didnt get anything to eat- just a hot coffee Tanzanian blend but the coffee was great. 5* for the coffee, 4* for the setting because it looks like they dont have mugs or plates, only to-go stuff.

Good coffee place. They have the best cheese croissants they add so much cheese and its so delicious . The badges are also good, especially with their especially sausage.

They have some great roasts avilable. My wife and I get whole beans there once a month. Great for the neighborhood and we dont have to drive. Prices on the roasts are average. We do like the way they store the roasts so we can get the aroma of the coffee before we buy it. A few more staff members might be needed, as we seem to wait awhile for our order every time we go in.

Came in at 6:59 am for just a quick cup of their house brew, to have a young female employee say that they are not open in a rude way. Mind-you, they are the ONLY coffee house in America that opens at 7 am, not 6 am... or even 5... but compared to the gas stations that are now selling fresh local brew coffee, and Dunkin Donuts, I can not see how it is possible for a business like Mad City to be like this. There is so many other options. Its the last that they will see me.

Friendly/Welcoming staff regardless of day of the week. Great selection of coffee beans with nice variety of house brews. Interior is a very relaxed setting.
