This is a great local market I stopped into while in the area. I needed some steaks cut and they took care of my request. I highly recommend going in for your meaty needs. The prices were also fair and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be back when I return to the area.

This is a locally owned hometown grocery store that has been around since the 1960s. They have recently remodeled. Most important thing to know: they are where you shop for meat!!!Their prices on meat are the best. They still have a butcher and will slice (for instance) a ham for you. Take the kids.

Spring Street Market is a great hometown market. They have the best meat in Cookeville. We have a catering company and we dont get our meat from anywhere else. They also have specials every week on different things. You wont find another hometown market like this one.

They have a great meat section of good quality meats. Their produce is a bit pricey, especially for its quality.

Greatest store in Putnam County real friendly staff love you all

Got there before 8 p.m.Girl working the opened the door and said I had 3 minutes left to shop.Got a couple items then paid. The girl then loaded my few items and brought to the car. Got home and noticed she forgot one bag.How do you lose a bag from the store to the car. She was to worried about going home than good service. Very disappointed...

This is one of tree greatest places to shop. The produce, canned, boxes food and meats are of great quality. The staff is respectful and helpful always. They still carry your groceries out and help you load them. One of the best places to shop in the Cookeville area with wonderful hospitality with a small town feel. They cater to the children with animated singing bears and a train that travels around the ceiling that is sure to capture the attention of the young and old. Thank God we still have this Mom and Pop store still flourishing in the economy we have today!

I love this store the train and bears are just awesome. Friendly employees. Always service with a smile. Great deals always great location easy in and out. They always take out my groceries even if its just one bag that I can carry myself they insist in taking it out for you. Thats just good southern manners always yes maam or no maam and if that person doesnt know the answer to your question they will find out.

My parents love this local grocery store, and I have fantastic memories of it from my childhood. Step back in time and enjoy the experience that includes a constantly running train set and singing life-size bears! Your groceries are still carried out to your car, and the whole place just has that Southern down home feeling that you cant get in the superstores. Keep this little slice of the community going by doing business there when you can, and invite visitors to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere.

Was told that they were closing by a baggage boy while customers were still in the store. I expressed to him that I only needed hamburger meat. He ignored me. Ive been shopping here for over 40 years and have NEVER been shunned like this. My entire family will reconsider other places going forward.

I just moved here from a very large city and I am glad I found this great market. This store brings me back to my childhood. This is a friendly bunch of American workers that understand the word “service.” I suppose the prices are good but I haven’t compared any prices, I frankly enjoy supporting the little guy. I love this place because of their deal on meat. No where else in town allows you to pick out selected meats up to five for a total of $20 as long as you get 5. Otherwise you pay the amount on the package. Their staff is all friendly and eager to help you, and they absolutely insist on taking your purchases to your car. Service with a Smile every time.

Spring Street market is a family-owned business and has been for many many many years my first aliens was spring Street mr. Leo whats the top man would go out of his way to please the customer if you look for a particular item and he didnt have it the next week he would entreated everyone would be up most of respect including all of his employees would go out of their way to do for you and now the sun has the business and he is equally everything his father was this is a wonderful place to buy groceries at nice and clean kind and courteous to everyone regardless of age race color or Creed. I recommend this grocery store above any grocery store in Putnam county and surrounding counties you will be satisfied when you go there they have nice fresh cut meat daily.

Its a great hometown grocery store. You can still find items there that you cant find in more modern grocery stores. The prices are good and the staff is very nice and helpful. They have a Hillbilly band that the kids really enjoy. There is also a train that goes around near the ceiling of the store. It is usually crowded so be prepared to spend time at the checkout. For me that means its got to be a wonderful place to shop!

Great selection, price is right and it has things I havent been able to find since Im a kid. Atmosphere and employees were nice. The 3 big band of bears and train was cool too.

If theres one reason to make Spring Street Market a stop for groceries, it is the meat. If there are two reasons its the meat and the animatronic bears. Seriously though, if you are making any dish where you want tue meat to shine through this is the place, and generally cheaper than anywhere else in town. Consistantly sub $2/lb on many things, and they get some big deals on frozen catfish and bacon too. You can find great stuff if you keep checking in. The service is also amazing, everyone is friendly and professional. Overall its a grocery store that doesnt feel like a chore to go to.
