This place is great! I went to the store for a diagnosis and repair of my guitar. Luckily it was an easy fix and the repair was done same-day. Gary was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can tell he enjoys what he does and knows what hes doing. Definitely my go to for any future repairs and/or purchases.

Gary at the Guitar Exchange does great work - I find him to be very honest and quite knowledgeable. I had Gary set up a couple of my guitars and so far so good, the playability is so smooth and fun with the action having been set just right.I highly recommend Gary and the Guitar Exchange.

As a beginning player, I kept hearing over and over about only pressing as hard as was necessary, on the strings of my guitar, in order to have the notes ring out. However, it seemed like I was needing to put a lot more effort into it than I should have.After reading all of the great reviews, I decided to bring it in and have Gary check it out. Sure enough, the action was a bit high.He did a setup on it to lower the action a bit. He also recommended that I go with a slightly lighter string gauge. He assured me that it would not adversely affect the sound of the guitar.Oh! Wow! What a difference!He also advised me to play it for a day or two, and if I wasnt happy to bring it back in.Thats service!I will definitely be back for any of my future guitar needs!

Personalized attention to detail is something you just cant get at a big corporate run chain store that hires youngsters who dont care about anything beyond their commissions and how loud those Marshall stacks can go while theyre waiting for their record deals.... Mr. Kramer has been running this brick and mortar mom and pop shop for some time now... He is no stranger to our local music scene and he knows gear..... It doesnt matter if you need just a guitar pick or a full blown concert ready rig, Gary will steer you in the right direction..... His store is where guitarists go for guitarists stuff.... Very good setup was done on my guitar. The guitar stays in tune fine despite the strings being new. The bridge was set parallel to the body of the guitar. I previously went to another tech and he did a terrible setup, bridge angled up, guitar wasnt staying in tune well. Guitar exchange did a good job.

My wife recently purchased an Acoustic Guitar for my birthday. Gary was extremely helpful and considerate. I am now enjoying taking classes at the store. Its great fun and I highly recommend this business.

Gary is the man! Highly recommend if you have any issues with your guitar. I had an issue with my pickup, I called Gary and he told me to bring the guitar by. I was there less than 10 mins and he fixed my issue... didn’t even charge me for the few minutes he spent on it. Awesome guitar shop! They recently fixed my 60’s Gibson acoustic that has had a broken headstock for more than 10 years. They did a great job and the prices are more than reasonable. Gary is very knowledgeable and down to earth. You instantly feel like you’re talking to a friend. He offers his advice regardless if you’re buying something or not. Plus he’s got a great selection of guitars, I’m personally eyeballing the Les Paul Standard and PRS. Seriously consider checking this place out, even if just to talk shop

I love this store. I walked in to get some strings and walked out with a bass and a new teacher.As other people have said, Gary doesnt have EVERYTHING in stock. But, he will get whatever you want at the same prices as the big box store and he will set it up and stand behind any issues.Try getting the big box guys to setup your guitar for free when you buy it.Personal service like Guitar exchange gives is beyond rare.That is worth more to me than a massive inventory of stuff I probably didnt want.

Ill start this with the positive. Its a cute neighborhood store from a time gone by. The guitar teachers who are employed there seem great and very well rounded. The owner Gary Kramer knows a lot about guitars and is friendly if your going to purchase something.Now the negative, the store maintains little or no inventory except for a bunch of used guitars, some of which are unusual colors and textures and clearly have been sitting there for a while. If you want anything else that Gary will order it will be at the same rack price you can get yourself online or in Sam Ash or Guitar Center. The store is authorized Yamaha dealer and though its a good product Gary will always try to hard sell you into one regardless of what you want and can become argumentative if stick to what you want or disagree with him. I personally have brought him some repair work in the past and he did it competently but overall I wasnt impressed cleanliness of the of items when they were returned.Overall its a niche business and if you want a particular used item or guitar lessons I would go there other then that you can do better else where.

I bought a cheap USED guitar from Gary a while back, just to learn. When the time came to upgrade he would not take it as a part of payment nor in consignment, I was stuck with it. He must have taken it from someone else to sell but he would not take it back from me, not nice. The guitar was in the same condition as when I bought it.He does not give prices over the phone. Fine, I buy online. I dont have time to waste to see if I can get a competitive price by going out of my way to the store. The few times I have gone to the store I get MSRP.I gave three stars because he is not all that bad, just not good enough for me.

Gary set up a guitar for me that was beaten up pretty hard from live gigs when I got it back from him I let the kid that did the damage play it and he said it played better than when it was bought better than brand new .Gary is the man!!!! I dont think theres anyone in South Florida that can set up a Guitar as well as he does!He will set it up exactly as u request.Check him out u most definately wont be disappointed.
