Went to Art Van looking for a new Mattress. Was impressed with their approach to find the right mattress for my husband and I and didnt just say go try them out and let me know which one you like. Our salesperson did a great job explaining the different materials, support systems what works better or worse depending on what type of sleeper you are. Found the perfect pillow also! he didnt act bored or annoyed - was very helpful. After finally deciding on the mattress we wandered over to the furniture where I found it! My Bedroom set! It is GORGEOUS and all wood with cedar lining! I spent WWWAAAYYY more than I expected to but am very happy with all my selections. Got 25% off as well as a free TV out of the deal! Waiting on delivery in a few weeks and will advise how that turns out. So far, very very happy! Update: furniture delivered and installed in about an hour and a half. Delivery men were awesome and very careful about being sure not to scuff or scratch my wood floors. I am extremely satisfied! Thank you ArtVan!
A total waste unless you want to spend alot. No sofas were under $1400. I mentioned there was a set under $1600 I liked (sofa and chair) at another place and I was walked all around looking at sofas for $2800. Dis you listen at all sir salesman?
No stars! Sofa ripped 2nd day we had it....3 weeks no solution or recognition of problem until we WENT to them. No wonder they are liquidating. Proper paperwork not given at purchase, now trying to screw us out of 30%!!Small claims, here we come!!!!
Bad place has been saying that theyve been going out of business and is liquidating their inventory... they also say that their landlord is kicking them out. However, they own the property per saleswoman.Buy elsewhere.

So we bought new furniture from this place last summer. One of the pieces we bought grinds really hard when rocking in it. The item clearly has a mechanical flaw and no one wants to sit in it. So we call Art Van because the piece is still under warranty. I guess they filed for bankruptcy in the time frame and no longer honor the furniture they sold prior to that. I was given a website/phone number to call and file a claim. Ive left multiple messages and filled out the online warranty claim and no one has one time bothered to respond. I guess Ill take the loss on the rocking/reclining loveseat. Calling into the store does no good. Guess I see why you all went bankrupt. Very disappointing.

I ordered online and the process was very quick and easy. Pickup at the store was free and the staff at the Coralville, IA store were friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They helped us load the sofa into our van and every person we interacted with was kind and courteous. Will definitely shop with Art Van again!

Going on 12 weeks after ordering and still not arrived. No explanation as to why. Was told furniture would arrive by Thanksgiving, then by Christmas, now out to January. Would have cancelled items but they charge a restocking fee. Predict this place wont be in business much longer.

Art Van had just what we were looking for - a nice blend of furniture at a variety of price points. We were happy to see some solid wood (not all veneer) bedroom pieces on the show floor as well as the more affordable pieces. There was also a nice variety of sofas from different styles. Their staff was knowledgeable - helping us find just the right pieces at a great price!
The sales staff was very helpful and worked with us to narrow down the choices. The overall sales experience was good. However, we had to give a lower overall rating because of the delivery. It started with the call a day or two ahead telling us when to expect delivery. We were told it would be between 9-11 and we would be called as they were on their way. The lady even said we were the first delivery that day. It got to almost 11 the day of delivery and we had not heard anything so I called the store. The lady I spoke with told me that our delivery time was 10-12 as if I was all wrong. She said they were finishing a delivery and should be heading our way soon. Within minutes of hanging up with her the delivery person called saying they would be here in 30-45 minutes as they were completing their first delivery. Upon arrival the two delivery men were not considerate of our home as they just walked on our floors without regard for the mess they were making. They should have at least offered to take off their boots, put on booties, or as a minimum worn clean shoes that didnt track all over our newly laid hardwood floors. By the time they were done we had to scrub up all of the footprints and mess left behind. They were fairly fast but it might have been nicer for them to slow down a little and be more careful.
I went to Art Van looking to buy a bed. I have a history of a spinal fracture and other medical needs which impact my needs as far as a bed goes. The sales people were super knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They have a diagnostic machine which was also helpful in figuring out what the best choice was for me. I bought a chair from them a while back and they really stand behind what they sell. Their delivery guys are awesome too!
Okay furniture store. The selection appears to be good. The people are nice - very helpful. We came in for a couple of queen-size bed frames and it took a long time because the computers and printer were not working as youd expect in a place that uses them for sales every day.

Since I knew what I wanted, I was able to place my order over the phone. It was delivered on time and in good condition. No unpleasant surprises. Delivery people were efficient and helpful.
Overall good experience with Art Van. I came in check out couches 3-4 times before I decided I wanted to buy a sofa and 1 1/2 chair when it went on sale. Tanya I believe helped me and she was patience while I deciding still if I wanted this set or one from Ashley funiture. Took a week or so after purchase to ship to the store and so it was not long to get the couches I want. I did not get warranty knowing that I only want this set to last a couple years till i get into a bigger house. The set was less than $1300.
We were greeted with a friendly salesman. Was patient, answered all our detailed questions and worked to find us what we were after within the confines of our budget, needs, and compromises that allowed both my wife and I to mutually find a living room set that we both could be satisfied with. She worked with me to make the best decision and stayed within my price range.Delivery of furniture was on time. Our furniture set looks great and is great quality.
Extremely friendly staff and pleasant experience from front to back. We came in looking for a couch for our home and had a very helpful associate named Randy who walked us through all of their offerings without even the slightest hint of pressure. He listened to all our reservations about each piece of furniture we saw, then gave us some insights on each piece but ultimately let us make our own decision. Later, when we eventually had our couch delivered, their delivery staff was really polite and took great care to keep the furniture and our home clean. It really was a great experience and well definitely be coming back.

Bought a mattress there with a 15 year guarantee. Now 2 years later they wont honor that. They declared bankruptcy. I can see why. The mattress is very lumpy and we are stuck with it. Contacted the manufacturer and they will do nothing without the stores paperwork.
I would give Art Van a 0 if I could. They will do whatever they can to make a sale when you are in the store but once you pay you may get damaged furniture that they won’t want to fix. I am still waiting from a purchase delivered in February. They do NOT return calls and every time (3 times now) I call they tell me they will call the next day. Yesterday I was told the damaged furniture has not been fixed due to illness of their worker. Not acceptable! If your workers are ill for 2 months at least call and let the customer know. The delivery workers damaged our home when delivering furniture and Art Van will not accept responsibility for the damage. I will never give them business again. I recommend others do not either. The headaches are just not worth it. Unreliable service and they clearly do not stand behind their product or service. Do not purchase from them.
Staff was vary helpful but not to pushy. They let me make my own decision and supported me in it. I need the mattress quicker than they said they could get it, so they made a phone call and got it on a earlier truck! Very happy!
Sale experience was positive. When handed off to complete sales apparently no discussed information was past on. Employee complain of being too busy, checked texts on her phone, assigned delivery date without discussion with customer although already part of sales discussion and marked no to old mattress removal without asking, provided minimal information regarding financing. When called back with request to speak to manager about financing required multiple requests before I was allowed to speak to manager. Salesperson said would call if price declined during Labor Day sales, this did not happen although there was a decrease. Art Van Lefy message acknowledging my request for morning delivery stating request didn’t work for Art Van furniture so would deliver late afternoon/early evening. (I had clearly communicated my lack of availability due to prior obligations) Again called ask for manager, interrogated by receptionist why I needed to talk to manager then said manager wasn’t available for 30 minutes. Called back 30 minutes later different person answered phone identified himself as sales manager then said manager was not going to be in at all. I told that person about terrible customer service and gave option to deliver as requested or they can keep mattress. Grossly poor customer service beyond making a sale. If a customer requests a manager, manager connection needs to occur without interrogation and blocking customer access to store manager. I would not recommend this business if you prefer communication and follow through with agreements during sales. Van Art drops customer service the minute a sale is made.
Knowledgeable and friendly sales staff helped us find a wonderful bedroom set for our daughter. The delivery staff were conscientious, on time, and did a terrific job assembling the furniture.
We gambled by buying furniture from online and it paid off; prices are amazing! We love our new sectional!! The salesperson, Randy, was amazing and the delivery guys were very thorough and gentle with our new purchases. We will definitely be going back there again for our bedroom set this fall.

I ordered my furniture from the website. It gave me an option to pick up in store, since I would be moving and already would have a uhaul ready to go. The day comes and I go to the store to pick up my furniture. They say it is not here yet and would be here in a few days. They tell me that the online system is not on the same schedule as their in store schedule and that most people call about the furniture. Nowhere on either my order confirmation, emails from Art Van, or the website is there any information saying that I need to call the store to confirm their schedule of delivery. They eventually agreed to deliver it to my place when it arrived. They cant deliver it until a week later. Then the delivery guys come and are moving my bed and couch really quickly and roughly into my apartment. Im lucky they didnt damage the walls. They managed to make a tear in my brand new box spring because of how rough they were. The only reason I gave this 2 stars was because they delivered my furniture for free, but I didnt even want it to be delivered in the first place. It is 2019. Online ordering should be simple. Art Van needs to get their online ordering system figured out.

I do not even know where to begin with how wonderful our experience was with Simpson. As first time home buyers, we went in knowing we needed A LOT of furniture (2 living room sets, 1 bedroom set, mattress, and a few other things). Darlene was absolutely wonderful helping us out, making sure we had everything we needed, along with making sure we had good brands at a good price. We made a few different trips in looking for different items and each time we had wonderful service. Our last trip in was a random trip to get a new mattress and Jim helped us out, wonderful! He got us exactly what we needed and knew we were on a tight budget with everything else we had already purchased...great mattress for an even greater price. Lastly, being from the Iowa City area originally, I have never had as great of customer service as we did when we were leaving that day. It was Friday before Valentines and we got to meet the owner as were we checking out that afternoon, and Dale (the owner) handed my fiance a card to be opened on Valentines Day. Valentines Day morning came so we opened the card, little did we know our Valentines dinner was on them. You have no idea how much this meant to us. I will not buy furniture from anywhere else as long as I live. They definitely did not need to do this for us but they certainly made sure we only come to them from now on. ANYONE and EVERYONE needs to check out Simpson. Also, keep in mind they will match and beat the price of any of their competitors (I know this first hand). Absolutely WONDERFUL service. I have only nice things to say about them.
I see that ownership is only responding to positive reviews. So they couldnt care less about your inevitable numerous complaints they will get going forward. A pathetic way to end a business.
I purchased a chair at Art Van and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The salesperson (Randy) made it easy, and gave me a better price than competitors did. And then he remembered me on subsequent visits to the store. I had one minor issue with the chair, but the Art Van staff quickly and capably followed up and resolved it. I needed counter stools for my island, but the day I was shopping, not the next week when they could be delivered. I found one I liked and was able to buy 3 of the floor model. They look great and Im only a few days into having them, but theyve been good thus far.
We bought our sectional couch that we absolutely love from the previous store that was there before Art Van. They have done an amazing job with taking care of the two issues we have had even though it wasnt their problem.First, a minor repair, and they sent someone to our home (which is an hour and a half away) and took care of the problem at no charge. The second issue, the leather on the head reston just one of our motorized reclining chairs, started to wear a lot faster than it should have -cracked and peeling. I took a picture and emailed the manager. The next day we received an email that they would be offering a store credit for our troubles!!!!We came to the store and picked out our products. Randy was an excellent salesperson and went above and beyond for us! The whole process of picking out furniture with our store credit took less than an hour-quick, thorough, HASSLE-FREE awesome customer service!!!! We will be back and we will be referring our family and friends. They take care of their customers. Thank you Art Van.
Our first shopping experience at Art Van was better than any other furniture purchase weve ever made! When my sons bunk beds were delivered, it was discovered that it may be too difficult to get the pieces up our stairway...so the 2 delivery men decided it was too difficult for them to attempt. When I returned to Art Van later that afternoon to change our order to something that would fit, the warehouse manager (Damien) said, We can do this. He and the general manager and one other delivery person returned to our house the following week---they studied, they calculated, they devised...AND THEY ACCOMPLISHED IT! They were absolutely wonderful, and now the bunk beds reside happily in my sons room. The service from the warehouse manager in Coralville was unlike any other! He is to be commended for his dedication, positive attitude and overall friendliness. Well definitely shop at ArtVan again!

We had such a great experience! Our salesman Jon was so friendly and patient. Im not exactly the most decisive person, especially when it comes to spending a lot of money on something. We were there basically from open to close on a Sunday (because Im really that indecisive). I never felt pressured or rushed into making a decision. It was a great atmosphere and I will definitely be back. We searched all over cedar rapids for the right furniture and we finally settled on a sectional from Art Van. This was the only store I went into and felt like a had several options that held up to my expectations or even had anything that I wanted to buy. I am very happy with our experience and will recommend them to anyone looking for furniture (I already have)! Great job guys!

The buying experience was great. I had about 3 people helping me - all were very helpful. Found a great deal on a couch and love seat. Have tried it out for a couple of days now and am loving them.The reason why this is only a 3 star rating is because I was going to meet my dad to pick up my furniture from the store, and I was running late. My dad went in to see if they would allow him to pick it up with authorization from me via phone. However; by the time I arrived, my dad was loaded up with the couches and everything. They did no call me to notify someone other than myself was picking up the furniture, they didnt ask for proof of purchase nor did they ask him for a photo ID. This was disappointing, and I am glad it was my father picking it up rather than someone else.
My son and I went in for a relatively low-cost chest of drawers for a bedroom. Whitney was helpful without being pushy and quickly led us to the sale area on the upper level. We found a chest of drawers for around $200 and ended up being able to buy the item directly off the floor instead of having to wait several weeks. This was perfect for us. Thanks!

5 months from purchase, the couch cushions are collapsing and the leather-ish material on the loveseat has scratches and is peeling off; referred to a service company that is very poorly rated. If the couch is failing after 5 months, this is the most expensive furniture Ive ever bought and the store does not appear to stand behind their products, from the first conversation with them. I knew this was not top quality furniture and was OK with that; hoped for a good 5 years on the couch and loveseat, not 5 months. Purchase and delivery were fine.
Staff was very accommodating here. The selection of furniture I feel is the best in the area. Ive looked at almost every furniture store within 50 miles and wasnt able to find my style with the appropriate price until stopping here. The only thing knocking it to 4 stars. Is the shipping. If you have more than one piece its worth it. (Same rate for shipping and assembly as a whole order) So for those with one piece, kinda stings. And multiple other stores can ship for free or if you just order online. But I feel the price and customer service outweighs that. I will continue to go here for my furniture.
We came to the store having done quite a bit of research on mattresses. However there is so much information that it was confusing. So when we arrived, the salesman (Randall) was able to simplify all the terms and technologies so we could narrow down the choices. Then using the test bed, the computer analyzed our body types and recommended the best bed firmness for us. Then using all that information, we tried a few beds of the type we had picked out and the choice was easy. There was no pressure to pick any one and we were allowed to take our time to be sure. Randall was great to work with and we recommend him and ArtVan.
We purchased a sectional with pillows back in February 19 and received pillows with our sectional that were poor in quality. Stitching is showing, holes in the pillows...just bad. Fast forward to August of 19 - I have stopped in the store, called several times and just keep getting told that the pillows are coming. It has been 5 months. The last time I called I was told I would be called back later in the day - it has now been a week. Will be following up again and asking for a refund. I will say that they were very nice/accommodating/helpful when we purchased the sectional, but since buying have been absent.

Came in with my brother. Its pretty out of the way and seems a bit hidden but is definitely a little gem. I dont know much about the furniture market or pricing but the items here seem to be of quality and the staff are really friendly. The owner has a very cute dog that hangs around as well (and keeps off the furniture). To the owner: Im sorry my brother got your dog riled up and barking the other day!
As others have described, our in store experience was fine but delivery was another matter. We were told at the time of purchase that our couches were special order and were about 6 weeks out. Not ideal, but obviously they cant stock everything and we were made aware of this up front. A few weeks later we received a call from our sales person letting us know that our items had arrived early and scheduled a delivery for the next Friday and was told we would receive a call Friday morning with an approximate delivery time. Excellent. Friday rolls around and no call by noon so I call them. After waiting on hold, I was told we were scheduled for delivery on Saturday and that it had never been scheduled for Friday. So we wasted half a day waiting for a call that never came and now have to reschedule our weekend plans around a vague 3 hour delivery window on Saturday. If this was a free delivery I might be more understanding but this is a delivery service that we are paying $100 for. I am not happy.

Pushy and rude sales staff, I told the woman three times I was just looking and fine on my own the fourth time I flat out had to tell her to leave me alone. I almost left but the sales floor manager knocked 500 dollars off of the couch I was looking at so I bought it. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive but after 6 weeks of no communication I called the store and was told, Its still at the warehouse and we are waiting for it to ship and it would take three more weeks. I work in a sales and this answer didnt make sense at all! Warehouses do not just hold product there goal is to get products to the stores as fast as possible so I asked if it had even been ordered? I was put on hold and offered an additional 100 off so I accepted. Three weeks later they finally called me for the first time ever to set up delivery. Ive been waiting 9 weeks for this couch and they couldnt give one time that worked for me so I worked around their schedule which was vaguer then a cable service call. Now the whole reason I bought this couch is my old couch didnt fit in the room I wanted to put it in and this one came apart. Which is what I told the sales person, the manager, and the person who set my delivery up. On the day of the delivery the drivers had no clue about taking the couch apart and didn’t even have the tools to do it so I had to let them use mine! Too summarize this place is either poorly run or completely incompetent at every level of their business and I will never do business with them again.

We recently purchased a box spring with the help of Jake Airgood and had a wonderful experience. He was very helpful with the phone purchase as well as helping us set up the delivery. This is especially important since we live out of state and ordered the box spring for our college student. We can’t thank him enough for going out of his way to make sure the delivery worked around our sons schedule.
We worked with Sharon to find a chair for my father-in-law, and then decided to get ourselves a new dining set. She was very friendly and not pushy and took time to learn about us. I would definitely go back!
I ordered a $2,751.68 sectional and a $484.50 5 year GOLD warranty on 9/25/18 with an expected delivery date of 10/16/18. It was delivered several weeks late and included 2 incorrect pieces. The delivery men stated that because we needed the furniture for 25 house guests on Thanksgiving, that we could keep the pieces. I contacted the store owner a few days later and she ordered a replacement electric recliner. As of March 2019, we still have not received that replacement. When I purchased the furniture, I had a discussion with the salesman that we wanted leather but that I had 2 dogs and was concerned. He stated that they offered a Gold warranty that covered everything - leather, electronics, stitching, metal components, cords. He said that if we ever had an issue, we just had to call it in and the warranty company would take care of it. After a few months, we noticed that when one of the dogs jumps onto the couch to lay down, it causes scratches in the leather. Ive attempted phone calls into the corporate office on 2/26/19 and 3/1/19 only to be put through into a voicemail to request a phone call back. I was then told that I would receive a call from Joshua, the regional manager which never happened. I called again on 3/8/19 and received a voicemail from the Coralville office manager on 3/9/19. She stated that if I wanted the replacement chair, I would need to pay for it as well as the delivery, and that the warranty wouldnt cover the damage nor would they take the furniture back. I called her on 3/10/19 and was told that the salesman was new at the time of the sale and that they would have a discussion with him. She also said that it was my responsibility to read the warranty material, THAT I RECEIVED AFTER THE PURCHASE AND PAYMENT, and to call back in to cancel the order. I said that it was the stores responsibility to make sure that I was told the correct information, otherwise, I would have gone elsewhere to buy a less expensive sectional. She ended the call repeating that it was my responsibility.
After a not so great first experience they went out if their way to make us happy. We bought the Blake soda and loveseat and absolutely love this set!!! Amazing customer service and love the 90 days same as cash!!! Thank you Art Van!!!
Waited until we signed the paperwork to tell us we were getting the floor model instead of a warehouse model. And now since they are closing were having a hard time getting our couch because the one day that they assured us they would be open and our schedules clicked they were closed. They will deliver for a nice round 100 dollar fee, but not for 3 more weeks at the earliest. We found them to be rude and unaccomodating. Good riddance.
We have a small motel and have bought things from Art Van before. Specifically, we have bought mattress sets and our guests have Commented they get a good night’s rest with them. So we ordered some more and will continue to do business with art van. Abbi was very helpful with our purchasing process and if she didn’t know all the answers she checked with someone who did. We will continue to get our mattresses and purchase more things from Art Van.

I worked with Jake on a mattress purchase. He told me the bed ships to the store in 3 days and then I would have it a week after that. So 10 days total. Cool, that would be a Saturday so my husband and I would be home to get it when it was delivered. 10 days came and went only to find out, the real date was the 24th. A Thursday. And apparently this is the only day you can deliver to someone outside Iowa City. My husband had to take off work to be there since you were unwilling to switch the day without waiting a long while for our purchase since we were told you wouldnt be in the area. We only live 25 minutes from the store, max. Not like its an hour or more.We also had to go back and spend additional money because we couldnt get the base that went with the mattress. Shouldnt there be the same number of mattresses as bases??The guy comes to deliver and forgets the frame. Then comes back to set up the bed and we notice the 2 box springs are different. And they have to come back for a 3rd time. The way business is done here is not for me.Basically, this will be my last purchase with Art Van. There has been nothing done to make this right and when we were in the store to ask about the why I was told 10 days and we would have it, the employees had no explanation but did say they would tell a manager. It is just one thing after another. I will take my money elsewhere next time.

One of the best customer service experiences Ive had. We came in with our 1 year old who was overtired and wanted to run amock throughout the store. In other stores, the staff followed us around and looked annoyed that we brought our kiddo along. But here, every staff member we encountered was kind and tried to keep him entertained while we shopped.When we realized that we made a sizing error in our sectional order a few hours after ordering it, they were able to accommodate the change in order easily. Cant say enough good things about them!
