I hired Gwen Parker after seeing her portfolio which included mostly pictures of her home as I later learned. She charged me a design fee based on the square footage of my condo, although she had no intention of helping with the design of areas such as the balcony, storage and bathroom, all of which were included in the total area she charged for. She vowed to assit me with every aspect of the design of my home including paint colors, art, rugs, lighting, and furniture. For the latter, she said she would grant me access to hundreds of lines of high-end furniture at a reduced price. She eventually took the design fee and designed nothing for me. She ordered items for me at an insanely inflated price, and the items took about 6 months to arrive ( rather than 8-12 weeks as she promised). She did not finish her design and instead, sent me pictures without names or brands of suggestions for some part of the house. Some of the furniture she delivered did not meet my expectations and she was pretty obnoxious when I asked about terms for returns or exchanges. Overall, I am alarmed that this person still works in this small town despite her shady pricing, and unprofessional work ethic.
