This Coop sets a very high bar, whether it is the food they make in house, or the groceries. I am always satisfied with the selection, and quality. The staff presents a a uniformly positive attitude which makes it a pleasure to shop.

I ordered a white vegan cake for my daughter’s birthday due to her food allergies. The staff was extremely caring and professional, and the cake was DELICIOUS!

I like this place very much for its fresh meet. Specifically their fresh lamb. I also like their cake. Their prices are a bit higher but I make a visit every week to get some stuff.

New pioneer has organic, fresh & good variety of fruit & vegetables.They a very good quality of meat.If you want to buy organic groceries or meat you should definitely try this place.They have organic baby food as well.They have a bakery and restaurant aslo.

This is the perfect size grocery. Excellent layout, with great local produce and beer/wine and the deli area is wonderful. Super friendly staff, great vibes.

I could eat lunch here every day. And sometimes I do. Dont judge me. The vegan cajun tofuwich (on GF bread, pictured) rivals Papagayo as the best sandwich. Wednesdays are vindaloo day at the hot bar and the soups are always delicious. Plus, you can grocery shop for dinner.

This is by far one of the only places I feel takes covid seriously. they sanitize and disinfect. they take care of both their employees and the people who shop there. you really cant go wrong with their fruit and veg selection. they have had to make some changes based on covid, so no more buffet or hot line for breakfast or lunch. they do have some of the best collection of dairy and cheese plus the sushi is pretty great. They have great German beer and some super sake. Join the club and support a local chain with big aspirations.. ps their chocolate mousse cake is to die for....as are the rest of those baked goods.

The first thing I noticed was the play area for the kids. It has a kitchen with pots and pans near a cozy fireplace and the cafe. So fun! Its also right next to the front door, so of course youd never leave your kids there while you shop.The staff is very pleasant. Its a laid back place to be, but its a but on the pricey side. They make being a member pretty fun, though.

We live 8 hours away from this Co-Op but will happily make it a necessary stop whenever we are in the area. They have a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, amazing bakery, and delish deli options. You cant go wrong with any of the cakes, cookies, and breads and they have great vegan and gluten free items. We always end up grabbing something from the deli or salad/hot items bar and its always great. Beautiful building, friendly employees! Wish it was closer!!

Absolutely shocked at the high prices at all the locations,, I have also seen qlot of food go to waste. and lots that doesnt get sold goes to table to table and the food banks.lower the prices you would sell more.

Pretty good selection of natural and or organic food stuffs in a small space and a good alternative to corporate grocery stores. New pi doesnt seem to stock or support as many local producers as they used to, Im looking for local! Covid has affected the look and feel of these stores a lot, but in both the Iowa City and coralville locations, staff is well masked, lots of protection, distancing and even masks and sanitizer available at the door as of 11/10/20.

I am doing only curbside pick-up and they do a wonderful job!

I have been using the Co-ops pick up service for the last month and have been very pleased with the experience. The produce that has been selected for me has been top quality and my orders have been perfectly filled. The pick up process is timely and safe. I am happy to be able to give the Co-op five stars.

Great food as always.

Great option for organic and healthier food. A nice selection of produce, most of it organic, and a decent offering of bulk food stuffs such as rice, grains, nuts, etc. The meat counter usually has a good selection of fresh seafood and meats. Fresh breads and bakery items are tasty but run out by the end of the day. The deli counter makes some great hot sandwiches. This store is smaller than your average big grocery store but makes up for it with quality items and a pleasant staff.

Great food and vitamin/supplement choices. Can be a bit pricey.

Expensive but has selection that is hard to match for clean eaters and people with allergies.

New Pioneer Co-op has a very good range of products. I find that their prices are expensive compared to other stores that I can go to. they have a very nice bakery that is competitive and they also make their own sandwiches and have a restaurant that is good. I go there with a friend to eat lunch when we go to Iowa City. Its a very modern store its nicely attended by the staff and they have a good selection of wines of produce of cheese of meats and of products in bulk and the normal vitamin mix and everything of a health food store.

Ive been shopping at the New Pioneer co-op for decades and it just keeps getting better. Great selection, excellent value, and friendly staff. Everything you need, without the foods you dont need, means an easier shopping experience with less searching around. There is usually parking near the front door which is really convenient compared to big box grocery stores where you may need to park way out in the lot.

Even though I am a member, and I want to support a local business, I just cant bring myself to pay their prices. Some items are $2 more than other places. The cashiers are super friendly, although super chatty, so if youre stuck behind someone they are chatting up, the checkout experience can be slow.

Sales priced items were charged at full price. Took 2 days for corrections.

My favorite place for a healthy quick lunch from the hot table, soups or salads. Best friendly staff in town! Good selection of locally sourced food, great wine and cheese selections and freshest seafood in town. They also offer interesting classes. Member for over 15 years.

The New Pioneer is a co-op with high quality food, though less exotic. Joining and helping out gives you a discount, and otherwise, its a little more expensive. Nevertheless, a good shopping experience. Hint: bring your own bags.

This store has more options than the downtown Iowa City location. It is a great store with great quality products. They are very mindful of what is in the food options they offer. Fresh baked breads, desserts and pastries. Fresh deli foods like pasta salads and similar things. I ❤ this store

I visited new pi to purchase a supplement called black seed oil. Unfortunately, I could not see through the white plastic bottle and thought the capsules contained pure oil, but in fact, they contained beeswax infused with the oil. I was able to return the product and buy a different brand that had the capsules I wanted. New pi was great about this process.

I live in Colorado and travel across I 80 at least once or maybe twice a year to visit family and friends back on the East Coast. NPFC is a must stop for me while traveling in both directions. I cannot get better food options anywhere else along the way. Prepared foods, fresh fruit, local hummus, baked goods are all awesome. Somethings are to enjoy during my travel and others are for friends and family on both ends.

They dont give you the time of day usually when they find out you arent a member. Prices are expensive, but I do love several of their products. Their cheesecake is amazing, their fresh salsa is great. Just wish they werent so snobby about the membership.

It used to be good, but now they took out most of the healthy products and substituted them with more ordinary grocery items (with high prices). For a lot of items I had to find alternatives on line or in other local stores.They dont like to take special orders any more, saying they dont make a lot of money this way. In any case, the ordering system is terrible. You call 3 weeks after you had ordered something and they tell you they havent place your order with the vendor yet. So I ordered the same thing from Walmart for #11.00 ( instead of $16.00 in New Pi) and they sent it to my home for free right away.The recycling bins are more for show, if you want to recycle anything you better go to Walmart. NewPiCoop employees actually reprimand you for recycling too much. Advertising facts This is a green store and we use local vendors are more for show.The bread is still good, because of it I give 2 stars.I used to go there every other day, now I hardly visit this place once two months.

Yummy food, and unique groceries. The German chocolate cake is yummy! Oasis hummus and pita, and the BEST chocolate milk by a local company, Supernatural dairy. Grab to go foods, and a nice assortment in the deli that they will heat up for you.

They need to pay more attention to HEALTHY FOODS. Especially gluten-free foods both at the deli and within the store. Less sugar more true food. The Coralville location is clean and bright, but the original location is more homey. Overall glad to have a health food store in the area.

Very well stocked. I go here to get essential oils, beeswax, etc. and the employees are so helpful and nice. Prices are higher than a regular grocery store, but you can find things here that you wont find in most other grocery stores.

Delicious vegan birthday cake,, and they have my favorite canned caffeine free, organic Steaz peach tea.

Good people that work here that actually consume some of the food to give excellent recommendations when asked. Its small for a supermarket, the one in Cedar Rapids is far better in terms of selection. I think it wouldnt be uncalled for to charge a yearly membership fee to use some money to buy/lease a bigger location in Coralville.

Great place for grocery shopping. Many of the vegetables are local grown and organic options available. This place also has a small restaurant in the top floor.

Lots of locally sourced food, organic produce, bulk herbs, and your normal grocery staples. They have a fantastic deli. Iowa Citys go to health food grocery store

The meat and deli counter at NewPi have organic and free range options that are nearly impossible to find at the big box stores nearby. They also have unique vitamin and alcohol selections. This NewPi is way bigger than the one in downtown but just as friendly. Try the local produce!
