LET ME TELL YOU WHAT!If you are looking for an honest, do-good, amazing, sincere shop, that knows what they are doing and are just all around good people bring you truck or car here. We were on a cross-country road trip in our beautiful van and were having some problems with her stalling. We took her here and they had her corrected in only a few hours, fixing some super shoddy workmanship we got from JM Tire and Towing in Trinidad, CO (stay away from them). Don the owner(?) of D&L was extremely nice and sweet and offered us a ride into town and to pick us back up while we waited on the diagnostic and service and told us some funny stories, one about his first tattoo amongst others. They treated us right, priced it fair, and we had a great all experience all around!
Had something weird going on with my Subaru Forester while in Mesa Verde. They got me right in and were so pleasant to deal with. On top of that, they were so reasonably priced. Cant recommend them enough. Call them first!
Very experienced and fair-priced shop! Hardworking mechanics and friendly service. They took my van right in and they fixed it right away! Highly recommend this shop to anyone who is passing through or lives nearby and needs car service/repairs. Thanks Don!
Very helpful and considerate of people at a time in need
The people here are amazing and compassionate! Driving from Durango with my daughter coming home from college. Lost the brakes in her car. If it wasn’t for parts being a couple hours a way they would’ve had us back on the road in an hour. They even locked her car up inside and drive us to the hotel. Very thankful for people and a business like this!!! Thanks so much to all involved’
This is a very awsome place if your having car problems take your car hear they are honest will take care of you very fast reliable great people you will be happy with there services they have fixed many vehicles for me please go hear
D & L was recommended to me by a friend, and since I had just purchased a used Toyota I decided to try their new car check. Found friendly people who know their stuff, and - wonder of wonders - can be trusted. Had the minor work they found done, and my used baby now purrs like a new car. So obviously, I highly recommend them. The older I get, the more I value knowledge partnered with integrity, and they have it.
They are personable and friendly. Technicians talk you through as much information as you want and dont pressure you into unneeded maintenance. Turn around time was off the charts! Power steering pump, all brakes, full tune-up including induction cleaning, and windshield wiper arms replaced within 36 hours!
Where do I start. They lie and cheat. And then crashed my truck on top of it all and wanted to fix it with a fender from a junk yard. He said new fenders dont even exist. You cant buy them. I found the fender on the Ford website on 5 minutes. Had to threaten to call the sheriff to get him to take it to his insurance company with our three estimate from real body shops. Then he complied quickly. The owner Don treats women like trash. Tries to intimidate by saying dont make him mad. He used to be a cop. So what? You going to shoot my dog? They kept coming up with new issues with my parking brake. Said the cable was frayed. Couldnt produce the cable and I know for a fact the cable was fine. Said it was the shoes. Then no they were fine. Said it was another cable that snapped. Then no it didnt. Charged $350 and my parking brake is still not working. Beware!
On a trip across country. Air ride went out in the car. We could still drive it, but wanted to be sure we werent going to damage anything. John put it up on the lift and checked everything out. The system reset itself, but at 430pm on a Friday, it was nice to know they were willing to take a look! Thanks John, Becky and Kara!
While on vacation in Colorado Springs CO, our car was vandalized, glass flew all over, including into the seatbelt latch making it inoperable. The glass repair shop replaced the window, but was not authorized to repair the seatbelt. D&L was the only shop in Cortez willing to fix the seatbelt without an appointment and did so with no charge. Thank you Don. You saved our vacation.
I will never come to this place ever again. They ripped me off completely. They do 80/hour for work and claimed they needed 2 hours to do a simple job! I watched them as they goofed off in the shop and just stood around and talk to each other... Then when I asked them about it, he went on to state the work they done. Just wanting to get out and get on the road, I just paid the money and left. When I got back to my hometown, I went to my local mechanic to check out my car (as it was having other problems) and told them of the work I got done on it and he told me that there was no way that someone done the work I asked D&L services to do! Completely unprofessional. They had one nice lady in the front but it is a rip off and they dont even get the work done! DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!
Charge me $100 how to find a squeak to my truck said they could not find it me and my son climbed under it in 5 minutes found the squeak also killed my battery had to jump it off just to get it out of there will never go back there again
Not recommended. I normally don’t leave negative reviews but the it was anything but professional. It took 2 days before they would even look at my truck, even when they told be it would be looked at the first day by 11am. When they did, they reported to me that I needed to replace the part I already told them about and they didn’t think anything was wrong with the transfer case, which there was. The prices were also very high. When my wife went to pick up our truck to take it somewhere else, there was several people pressuring her to have them fix it and it made her very uncomfortable. Not worth it! Also if they say they will look at it and give you a quote they are charging you for the quote.
Very helpful. I thought my radiator was leaking but I just needed a new cap. They ordered one and arranged for me to pick it up on Saturday at a place open on Saturday.
Car trouble while traveling cross-country can be a nightmare, but D & L Services actually turned our troubles into a good memory. After 3 other local repair shops turned us away, D & L, also very busy, fit us in, figured out what was wrong, and fixed it quickly. We were on our way within 2 hours--and, at a very fair price. We cant say enough about the friendly and helpful people we met at D & L.
I own a auto repair shop in San Diego CA.My client was travelling with his family on his 2009 Hyundai SUV and broke down near Cortez and called me for help. He stated that battery warning light was flashing on the instrument cluster, also brake light stayed on. This must be a case of bad alternator. So I got online and searched reputable shops in the area, first two shops are already booked up for a whole week and have no rooms to fit in, finally I talked Becky at D & L services. Becky was happily helping my friends family by fixing the alternator within few hours even though their shop had a pretty tight schedule and even gave them a ride to a restaurant so that they have lunch during repair. The charge was very reasonable and they are warm hearted to assist stranded family.Highly recommend this place.
Glad to FINALLY get my truck back one day short of 2 months, Glad i could find the right parts for yall, thanks for doing all you guys could do. I guess in the event of a major breakage go to a specialist next time. Will probably be back again.
Good work, nice people!
I like dogs known in my whole life and good mechanic
Traveling through Cortez and discovered I had a sheared sway bar on my Subi. The service was exactly what you would hope an honest auto shop would be for someone needing work done on a travelers budget. They luckily had a junk Subi they could salvage the part off, which was fortunate. But that is also a reflection of this place, being resourceful and finding a quick, cost-effective solution to the bind I was in. Don is a good guy doing his best to run an honest, dependable auto repair shop. If in Cortez needing work done in a pinch, this is the place Id go.
They were kind enough to squeeze my motorhome in to have it looked over before I moved in it. They were to check the tires, fluids and add trailer breaks. I even took them lunch to tell them thank you. Well I go out onto the road at made it to SLC and broke down on the freeway in rush hour traffic with all my pets in a hundred degree heat. When I had a local mechanic and family friend look at the motorhome he told me that it was a quart and half low on oil and there was no antifreeze in it. So it basically overheated. I spent $400 dollars plus lunch on this place and they didnt even check the fluids. There was no leak in the motorhome and not to mention my tires were weather worn and should have been replaced. Something else they never told me. This doesnt surprise me for Cortez and the men that run the business down there. Such a terrible place of business and they put my family lives at risk. This is a perfect example why while living there I never took my vehicles to anyone in Cortez.
We had car problems while on vacation. These guys went above and beyond, got us back on the road within a few hours.
