Great service. Highly recommended.Brought our van in at the start of a long holiday weekend. I’m not local and needed a quick turnaround. They got us in right away and instead of several hundred in repair costs they just needed to tighten some bolts and charged me for the shop time.

They have been great. They dont try to oversell you. Very reasonable prices, and great customer service. Once when they took a tire off, the machine slipped and scratched my rim. Not awful. I might not have noticed and driven away on it. But before I even knew it happened, they called, explained, and said they would fix it for free. That won my loyalty.P.S. Every place is eventually gonna piss off some body -- and some folks just love to get pissed off, lets face it -- and so theres always gonna be some 1 star reviews ... but the truth is look at all the 5s and 4s. This place is legit.
Let me say I dont like posting negative reviews. Typically I can find the good in the bad or understand what the issue was, this place however is a different story.I live in Northern California. We brought our car down to visit family and the AC died. We brought it here on recommendation from my father in law.We took it in, got it fixed, headed home and the AC died right after getting home. It was kind of intermittent so we called them and booked it in when we would be back later. I brought it in, they checked it and said it was a loose plug but they fixed it. I assumed this was the case.It ran until August of this year. We found out upon taking it to a shop up north that the plug is still loose. I am guessing they broke a retaining clip and didnt replace the connector after.That was not the biggest issue however. They also didnt bother to replace the AC receiver/drier when they replaced the AC compressor. This is always done, to the point that most AC compressor manufacturers wont warranty unless it was. When these things get a leak, the drier absorbs a ton of moisture from the air and can no longer take moisture out of the AC system. Meaning a build up of water and possibly debris will ruin the new compressor.This is exactly what happened. This isnt the first dealings with them where they have lied, missed important details or caused damage and denied it.DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!
Took my used (new car) here for a once over.Dave came back with an honest list of things that would need doing from Urgent to when you can get to it........mind you this was on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 114k miles ...so it needed looking after.I felt what came back was fair and Dave showed us all the areas that needed the work.I would recommend Coast General to all.We did not get all the work done at once and they put no pressure on us to do this.It will be our garage for the future.Thank you.
Service use to be better. Should have had vehicle fixed first try ! Then snow ball effect have been using there service department for over 20 years. Maybe a bad fluke. Usually 5*

Paid 320 for them to fix the window controls because was sinking in and thought was pretty high but was happy was fixed. It sunk in again and took back and few months later sunk in again and today I figured I can pop off part to get to controls. I noticed they were broke off where screws go in and they’d just be rigging it in. They said labor was where most of money was owed when only takes 5 minutes. No integrity and lost a customer.

I bought tires from a tires pros in another state and had an issue with one of them while out hunting. I came back home and contacted the closest tires pros to me to see if my tire was covered under warranty and to get a new tire. Coast General Tire Pros handled EVERYTHING and I left with a new tire on the rim. Sharp team, great attitudes, efficient workers. I literally walked in, said hello, sat down, and things happened. Clean shop and clean crew. Ill be back.

They are liars and crooks. They have no integrity. The worst service ever. Waited over 3 months for them to fix my 97 Suburban. They completely gave me the run around for all that time saying they needed parts or tools. Finally after contacting the Bureau of Automotive Repair, Coast General was told to return the vehicle and refund $1000. I have not received either. Dont ever go here. They dont deserve to be in business.

One of the absolute worst attitudes from a service perspective ever. Long time customer with spotty issues in the past.Fast forward to this past weekend and I go through the song and dance and get a quote on the phone for a repair. I inform them of the EXACT problem, the EXACT repair, the EXACT location in the engine for it. I wait 30 min for what Im thinking is an accurate call back. I leave the car there over night the night prior so they have all day to do what was quoted to be a 30 minute coil replacement on the engine.Half a day later they finally call and confirm its the coil and quote me a price that is 1.5 times the original estimate. I try to get a word in edge-wise with Ray. This man is the manager and his lousy New York attitude sets the tone for the entire shop, apparently. Dave was friendly and good to work with, but this Ray guy is a total jack ass. He talks over me and finally tells me hes going to put the bad coil back in and I should come pick up the car without having the repair done. This is about 15 hours after I left the vehicle there for a repair that was a firm estimate over the phone.Take my advice: do not come in here expecting good service. If you appear to know anything about cars and want them to stand by a firm estimate and try to stand your ground on an over charge, Ray flips. The guys is literally just an angry little man. Guess the owner doesnt care.Oh, and by the way, I should have known they dont care about the little guy after seeing about a dozen ATT/Direct TV cans in their lot for repair. It seems they have a nice service contract with them and dont need our itsy-bitsy auto repairs. Take your money elsewhere.
