To begin with, this Butchery is Very Impressive, and I can happily add that it Lives up to that impression. Both my father & grand father were meat cutters so being the butchers daughter is an advantage in terms of knowledge & what to look for. The shop itself is really great with all its Farmhouse style decor & livestock that one goes to a butchery for. But I factor everything in with respects to my reviews (to the thousands of viewers you know this). I love its very clean, bright atmosphere & even though I didnt have the time to enjoy my sandwiches here --yes they are a Butchery- Deli & I can rejoyce having found a Wonderful place to get Thee Best Sandwich in town, having one of their Prime Rib French dips & my friend got their Italian Sub Period!! However I also wanted some meat for a party & their meat cases all looked inviting. Fresh Quality meats. I Encourage everyone to grab a sandwich ( their menu is limited) but what they do, they do The Best. And to all the meat departments in the local markets I suggest you go & see what Amazing butchery looks like & get some Quality meats! Go! Go! Go!

So I ordered brats and franks, the brats are great, the dogs however smelt like the bologney that had gone bad from my youth, went in and they said its the smoking that makes it taste and smell like that. A few weeks later I Ordered a couple more rounds of brats, excellent. My wife ordered a special order of Irish bangers and brats for Christmas and let me tell you, I know what baby poop smells like and these bangers smell and taste just like bitter poop, they arent checking to see if the meat has gone bad, we will not be returning. This is an honest review.

After my first visit I was hooked. Clean, modern, great people and they have a substantial kitchen and back of house operation. The Pastrami Sandwich is awesome (so is Als NYC Deli and Pizza at the opposite end of 17th Street) and the family owned business is so friendly and helpful. Custom cuts, great bacon and so many great options are available. If you want a butcher on 17th Street in Costa Mesa, go no farther.

To my knowledge, this is the first whole-animal butcher is town. Very high quality meats, delicious sausages, and great sandwiches as well. Happy to have it in the neighborhood.

Sections opened a few months ago. I haven’t been able to stop going since. The quality is truly the best you can find. Some of my favorites are the beef sausages, breakfast sausage, Tri-Tip also known as CA meat, jerky, Biltong, lamb stew and bone broth. Most this are limited and sell out fast.

I purchased bratwurst sausage from Sections and the next day my refrigerator reeked from the smell of the sausages. So disappointed to get rancid meat from this market.I went back to Sections and told them about the sausage I bought. They were regretful and gave me some brats that were made that day and I have to say they were delicious. Had to give the 5 stars.

Not often do you find an old fashion honest to goodness butcher shop of this quality. Spotlessly clean and oh the smell of bacon!
