My bike runs like new thank you Geoff ππΌ
Do not take your Motorcycle to Geoff Gates / Cycle Doctor. My bike broke down about 60 miles after I picked it up from Geoff shop. They caused $3800 worth of damages that had to be repaired by another shop. Geoff or his Mechanic replaced a Primary Chain Adjuster that was not included on my original estimate and it failed, one of the Adjuster bolts was not installed correctly and ended up breaking. The broken bolt stuck into my primary and bent the crank only on the primary side. (Only one Side of the Crank Bent) I had to pull my bike from this shop because Geoff gave me estimate of 4-6 grand to fix his faulty mechanic work. I had to file complaint against him and his shop to the B.A.R. He has now said said that the only way for him to take responsibility is to file a claim with his insurance. I will now have to get the courts involved to get compensated for his shop faulty work. Word advice dont take your bike to this shop, he has also said he doesnt warranty his shop work that says a lot about this shop. I have attached a picture of the broken Primary Chain adjuster bolt. Unfortunately I had to write a review kinda bummer when all Geoff had todo was take responsibility for his shop faulty work on a part that had no issue before he changed it to make a couple extra bucks. I do not Stunt my Harley, Geoff has many excuses for his faulty work. Geoff Gates is a LIAR and the flywheel did not shift on the Crank. The B.A.R can not resolve the case so unfortunately the court had to.
No frills, no bulls#%t. Simply expert Harley Davidson repair from guys that take pride in their work and do it right the first time. Geoff changed the exhaust on my 98 FLHRC to true dual and then dialed it in on the dyno. It runs perfect - smooth through the whole power range. Just got back from a 3,000 mile road trip without a single problem. It doesnt hurt that Geoff and Steve are also good people.
This is over priced even during this time dont give in there other spots to check out.
Had my bike Dino tuned by cycle doctors come out awesome this place is great
Fantastic people and great service. You wont find more knowledgeable people anywhere.
That is the best place anywhere you go good office staff. They will not rip you off I would advise anybody to go down there instead of anywhere.
Friendly environment and very helpfull
Went from stock horsepower, temp and mileage to over 50% more torque, 10 degrees cooler and around 10 mpg better. All with questions and insight that allowed me to make my own choices on what to do and not to do. Never pushy, always courteous and straight shooting. Absolutely zero complaints. Even email tech support far after service had ended. I take my bike 14 hours one-way to have these guys do their thing. Engine magicians!Updated May 2019: Took in a 1957 FL. With giving them reasonable time frame expectations, the staff went through the bike accurately and in detail. There was communication throughout the process of unknown issues arising through deconstruction allowing me to make my choice of repair. Net result is what the customer wants based on all the information requested. I will continue to use Cycle Doctor, and I recommend them to others.
This is the best motorcycle shop around!! Ive been bringing my bikes to Geoff for almost 10 years and you simply cant find better mechanics. Harley dealerships have never come close to the service Ive received at Cycle Doctor!
I just had my second tune by Geoff. Another great job!!! It took awhile for Geoff to get to it, but it is worth it when you know it will be done right the first time. He also installed my Pro-Clutch about a year ago it has worked flawlessly.
I recently had my bike serviced at Cycledoctor.I also had a few things repaired. My bike has not run better since I have owned it.Geoff and his staff take personal interest in the bike and my needs. They do great work and always find a solution.Awesome job.... keep up the good work.I will be back soon :)
There is a waiting list and theyre expensive.... but theyre good at what they do. They prefer to work on Harley Davidsons.
I havent had service done here yet. They are good friendly people though who love Harleys.
Geoff knows what hes doing. I took my stock 2016 Fatboy to him for a tune. The issue with it is common to most 103 and 110 Harleys. Overheating when riding slow. The factory sets the air/fuel ratio very lean to meet smog requirements. Since having it turned it never overheats and has great power throughout the RPM range.
Geoff built my 106 kit back in 2005 after the cam shoe tensioners grenaded my motor after 23K and four other HD dealers telling me nothing was wrong and/or selling me parts I didnβt need. Geoff diagnosed the issue in about 20 minutes! Long story short, I now have almost 90K on the same motor some 14 years later and just dialed it in on the dyno at Illinois Power Sports in Illinois, which is where I live now and the bike pulled 115 ft pounds of torque start to finish pretty much and topped out at 172MPH at 6200RPM, which is way faster then Iβll ever ride it. Stop wasting your time and money and get on his schedule!
I was charged almost $1000 and I couldnt even roll my bike back into the trailer. Its a great shop if you need chrome stuff bolted on though.
I go to cycle doctor about once a week to detail bikes and I can honestly say out of the years that Ive been doing that Ive seen nothing but professionalism everything from the owner to management to mechanics you should definitely check them out good people and good service
Really good wrench that is HONEST and straight forward!! He made my FXR faster than ever!
If you own a Harley this is the place to go! Youll get the best service and quality workmanship always
These guys are awesome. I was really in a bind and they took care of me. Ill definitely be coming back here.
Guys are great, even the detail guy made my pig look like a hog. Thx.
I had my 05 Road King with S&S pistons, S&S 52mil. throttle body, & 510 cam dyno-tuned at Cycledoctor and it runs excellent. In my opinion Geoff lives in the dyno room! He really takes the time to make sure that everything is running at 100%. Really appreciate that he also is looking out for the bike running safe. Would definitely recommend him to any potential customers and my friends.
Geoff and his staff have been helping me in all my service needs. This staff helped me completely build my first bike. We are currently building my second bike. This place can do anything you need. Never pushing and the thing I love most is they are attentive to your request. My new build is coming along nicely and my bike has never looked and runs like the bike Ive always dreamed of !! Im grateful to Geoff and his entire staff, a special thanks to Steve and Lorance for all your hard work. If your looking for a quality shop for all your Harley needs..you need not look anymore!!
Geoff and his team went above and beyond what i asked, and did a great job getting my FXR up and running! Ill definitely be coming back
Best learn to work on to our own bike.
The best in ultra high tech Harley service in O.C.
Awesome shop and knowledgeable staff...wont bs u and do great work!
UPDATE: Now Geoff Gaites at CycleDoctor is posting OLD EMAILS from a previous build, which was good. The 2nd time he worked on my bike, it used 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN 3,600 miles. He flat out called me a liar about oil use in 2013, when I kept track of miles and receipts on a cross country trip. Thats why he only shows the earlier emails from previous build. CAREFUL WITH THIS GUY or avoid altogether!!!!Not at all happy with this garage! Geoff Gaites thinks a LOT more of himself and his work than he should, and will argue a point emphatically rather than admit he and his shop did anything wrong. His ego motivates him, as opposed to making the customer happy. He will ALWAYS be right in any situation, no matter what. What he promises and what he delivers are two different things. I spent TOP DOLLAR$ for a touring bike build that came in with significantly lower power than promised, and the bike uses oil like a worn out motor. Geoff doesnt seem to understand the idea of $$$ paid for torque, much less the pain and inconvenience of loading quarts of oil into your saddle bags before taking a trip!!! If the bike starts and runs decent thats all that matters to him, irrespective of WHY you agreed to pay his ridiculous prices in the first place. A few SE parts at the stealer would have given me the same result for nearly HALF the price. Bottom line, imo little/no value for BIG dollars spent at this shop.
Ive searched and called all the motorcycle shops around OC to compare the parts & labor for my HD Bobber and CycleDoctor was just about the same price range as others. The difference was quality and speed. Tom, Geoff and the rest of the staff were very friendly, informative and professional.
Been coming here now for a year, Geoff did my master tune/dyno tune last Aug. 2010 and I couldnt be happier, he even emailed me after my trip last fall to see how the bike ran on the trip. Took it back to them this past spring to install my black forks and wild one handlebars, and again another great job done. Went back again in July for them to install my new wheels and added lower front fork springs and again, they did an awesome job. Im not sure where the negative experiences are coming from, they must be talking about a different shop. I know if I need something done that I cant do myself then Geoff, Tom and thier mechanics will take care of it quickly and professionally. They have been fair on their prices and there customer service well what can I say, they give you their all and then some, never gotten anything less 150% from them. I will continue to bring my bike here. Good shops are hard to come by and sometimes some people no matter how much you try you just cant please them, well I am very pleased .. Thank you for helping me get my bike to where it is now, I appreciate it.
Good honest guys that are in the business for the right reasons - passion for motorcycles. No BS.
