Im guessing the other people who left reviews dont have kids.because I took my son in there and while I was looking at tackle my son found a pole his size he was trying to show it to me but when i turned around it tapped me in the shoulder. Then the guy yells out hey dont do that with that pole it cost $200.00 .the look in my sons face was devastating. I could tell he was scared and ready to cry.and sure enough once we got outside my son started crying and said he never wants to come back there again.witch I agree how do you tell at a child for picking up a fishing pole.i would have bought anything in that shop my son wanted so before you start telling not to touch something how about letting the parents decide whats to expensive. And its not like we are dealing with expensive china or expensive wine glasses.they are supposed to be durable fishing poles.are you trying to hide something so worried they might break.thisbplace was not kid friendly.we will never recommend it to anyone or ever go back.you want a good bait shop go to warwick there Are two great shops there.KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM HERE. Other shop encourage kids to look at stuff.not at sandy bottom.if your that worried about stuff breaking then put it were it cant be touched unless asked to be seen...

Dave is great too work with. I always get my shiners there and they are fresh and lively. Anything you need is usually there. He is my go to bait shop.

This is one of my favorite businesses in Coventry! I have been going in to see Dave for as long as I can remember, they always have everything I need! You can’t beat an old school bait shop, the owner is very approachable and always has the answer to any question I have ever asked, prices are fair and live bait has always been 100% live 👍Now on to the flowers/Christmas trees, again great selection on both. This dude has saved me on so many holidays, can even scoop Mother’s Day flowers early morning so they are super fresh.I can’t say enough how much I appreciate having such a great spot in town. If you can, stop in pick some stuff up. Dudes like this keep the sport alive!

Bought a dozen and a half shiners and by the time I got to beach pond 8+ were dead and probably only had a good few to fish with. The ride is 20 minutes from bait shop to pond. Check the bait before you leave

Sold me 5 cans of half dead, moldy crawlers. Not the first OR second time this has happened here. I prefer Big Bear on rte 44 but their bait selection isnt what it was before the fire. Check your bait when you buy here before you leave, caveat emptor.

I went on a trip to this bait shop where I had gotten squid previously for a good price. I knew I would make it there close to the time they closed and called ahead to make sure that I would still be able to make a purchase when I got there. Over the phone, the store owner seemed very understanding and said that it was nothing to worry about. I made it there around 3 minutes before closing and was greeted by a locked door. I knocked hoping to catch attention since they should not have closed yet and was met by the store owner who very irritatedly told me that they were closed through the glass on the door. I was very disappointed by my experience as Id been told the owner was snippy previously and was not expecting him to actually be so. Overall certainly not the best experience or anywhere close to expected. I will not return to this store because of my negative connotations with it.
