They changed my brakes & then continued to take off my bearings after continuously telling them not to touch anything but my rear tires. It’s so annoying how people think they can override your say so when your the one paying out of pocket. Rude. Then tries to question my intelligence when I confronted them about the missing bearing. But now they are putting it back on for “free” after the weekend these people are a joke

I went to another place and they were going to charge me 4200. I had everything that was necessary done for less than 25% of the other place. I will definitely use this place again. And Mario, was nothing but professional and cordial.

The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they have fixed my car twice but they really irritated me with their unprofessionalism. I guess if you dont speak Spanish they really dont care much about you.

These people are shady as hell. They have a sign saying that they take debit and credit card payments but when it comes time to pay, they say the machine is down. Why they warn you ahead of time is beyond me. Everybody doesnt carry a lot of cash around. They pull this nonsense on Jefferson St too. Something does not smell right. Do they pick and choose who they will take a card from? Is this some form of discrimination? I wonder. They insisted that I leave another card behind for collateral. No problem! I cancelled it as soon as I got in the car and requested another one before I left for the bank. I will not be using them again. They are dishonest.

They wanted to over charge me for about 1 foot of 2.5 inch exhaust pipe and a flange they wanted to charge me almost $300. I went to another Velasquez mufflers and they only charged me $125

Got my flowmasters done off my warranty less than 10 minutes.

Dont know why the negative reviews but they installed my supplied muffler and did a great job. $150 out of the door and golden. This place is better visited if jefferson location is slammed. Theyll take care of you.

DONT USE THEM. We had used them a few times for oil changes. The last time we went they didnt secure the oil filter tightly because 2 weeks later and it has fallen off and let out all my oil. When we took the problem to them they basically told us to take it to court. The owner was very unprofessional in dealing with us.

This place is a scam! My neighbor went to them for brake work. They charged her for new pads and disks. The pads are new, but the disks were the old ones and the backs breakline was not bled correctly, still had air in the line.Shes contacting the BBB about them.

Couple weeks later went back because breaks went completely out and almost got in an accident. They said they would fix for more money. They tried to charge me for a $500 mufflers setup but I decided. I took my to Central Mufflers and they weld one spot charged me $30. Velasquez are trying to create problems dont go.

Ive been to this place many times. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesnt. Today really did not work out. Brought a truck in for a brake line repair. They change it but dont bleed the brakes properly. Brake light still comes on. They say it was on when you brought it in. Nothing we can do. We changed the part as you asked. I ask the young guy who Im dealing with at the time, when the older person who works there normally is gonna be back in. He said I need to call back every day until I get a hold of him in a mocking tone.Very poor professionalism otherwise too. That same young guy was more worried about flirting with the receptionist than getting any work done on the vehicles. He was constantly hovering over her trying to flirt.I ended up driving over to their Velasquez location on Jefferson and they bled the brakes correctly in under a hour and only charged 20 bucks to do it too. They said they felt bad about what happened at this location. They will get my business from now on.

They did an excellent job on my girlfriend’s truck at the Crest Hill location on Broadway St. They went above and beyond what we expected. We almost overpaid elsewhere where she usually goes to by $1,000. We’re thankful for their excellent work, and for Mario for doing business with integrity.

I was quoted $1200 at a mechanic to replace my catalytic converter and pipes under my 2007 Camry. They fixed the problem for$167 and were done in 45 minutes. I dont know if it is done right but its not noisy and or passed emissions. I will definitely be back.

Came in today, nobody was at the front desk, I waited for 5 minutes, nothing. I came around back to see if any workers would be there, they were there but nobody cared to ask me what I wanted. Pathetic shop. Dont waste your time and money!

We’ve had several services performed at this specific location without problems until my last recent visit. My last visit consisted of changing two oxygen sensors on a Dodge Charger, they offered to order the parts but said it wouldn’t be in until 2-3 days ( I went in on a Friday so it wouldn’t be in until Monday) so I said ok that’s understandable, I asked if I could purchase any at an automobile shop and I would just pay for labor.. they said yes. I went to autozone (asked them to make sure they were the right kind of sensor the car needed and they did) bought the parts that were needed brought them back to the shop and had them “install” them. The job was finished and paid in full amount for the labor. Once I paid the receptionist told me to run the car for the weekend ( and the engine light should turn off) and then bring it back on a Tuesday to make sure it’s good to go. The car was brought back and the engine light was still on they weren’t fixing it so the car was taken to a different place. Once the car was at a different shop the car was fixed immediately, the parts were not the problem it was how it was placed that was not correct. ( The second shop charged only half of what the first one did) The owner of the car went back to Vazquez and asked for a refund since the job was not properly done. The receptionist had stated that the shop does NOT do refunds, then a mechanic came up front and let him know that it was not the shops fault that the oxygen sensor didn’t work, but then they gave the customer half of what he paid for labor. This was an overall waste of time and money. The car did not end up getting fixed until a week later and at a DIFFERENT location.

Worse place ever! Stay away. My van makes more noise after changing muffler than before the change. He “manager” said the replacement will never sound the same as original and the original cost $1800. I was telling my friend who was waiting in the office what happened while I was in the shop when the rude manager started yelling at me saying that I was saying the same over and over (I wasn’t even talking to him). I guess he wanted me to say that he did I great job and didn’t like when I said I wasn’t happy at all with the job. Told him he needed a customer service class, asked him how he dares to talk like that to customers and his attitude is the reason of many bad reviews. Go here to this Velazquez in Crest Hill at your own risk. I went for my engine light being on which was for my Catalytic converter. I went to them to have my Catalytic converter fixed. They told me that my Catalytic converter 2 needed to be replaced. I paid to have the work done. The same day, my engine light came back on. I took it back. They then told me that I needed to replace my other Catalytic converter 1 because I have 3 in my car. This was not told to me the first time. They told me only one needed replacing. I ended up having to pay to get both done. They did not work with me. I will NOT be returning due to mis diagnosis of my vehicle.

Would give it 0 if I could, honestly the worst place I have ever been front desk is rude and was no help told them about my situation and I was told they could do nothing about it even though the problem was something they did!! Owner is stubborn as hell and doesn’t care about you or your car only thing that matters is your money. If you value your car and money please go to better mechanic.

Worst place!! Had my car towed there because it would not start. They gave me a call n told me I need a new transmission. I said Are u serious n the girl laughed n said yes. Mind u my car had barely 80,000 miles on it. So I said I’ll give them a call back n after reading the reviews I called them right back n told them I’m taking my car somewhere else. I took it to K & D they found the problem right away n it was a pulley that came out from my belt. I definitely don’t recommend this place!

They were very pushy on trying to get me to fix things I didnt go there for and got angry when I refused. While I was there; there was another customer who had returned 3 times for the same issue. Each time they returned they sold them on 3 different repairs, none of which fixed the original problem. Luckily I was just there for a little welding.

Took in the car for repair. next day I got it, it broke down on me 3 minutes later after getting it back. I highly recommend anyone not to get repairs from this shop. Yeah it might be fast, but the repairs are not of quality.

My car was taken here to get work done on it. If you honestly care about your car and want good quality work done to it for a reasonable price then do NOT go to Velasquez Mufflers in crest hill other locations Im not sure about but my experience was with this location. Took my car to get two sensors(That i purchased) replaced in order to turn off a check engine light. Everything was done and paid for i was told to wait a couple days drive it around and the light will turn off so i did, the light didnt turn off so i took it back they said that it was because of the sensors I bought since it was universal it wouldnt work. I know better then that he was lying straight to my face so I said okay and left went to my preferred mechanic that I wish it would have gone to in the first place, turns out they never connected one of them so it was just scrapping on the ground ultimately ruining the wire. Payed him to do the job that Velasquez couldnt do having to pay for another piece since the one bought is no longer good and the labor. Went back to try and get a reimbursement was told by a women that their was no getting your money back they dont do that, she went and got me someone that could help after arguing for a bit with the manager or owner or whoever he was reluctantly he eventually gave me my money back for the labor but refused to pay for the sensor he ended up breaking. This was almost a week long problem that was fixed in 1 hour when brought to people that actually value you and your car if your considering taking your car to Velasquez youve been warned.

I never ever ever write a review... but for this place I will. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I took my car here to get the brakes and back rotors done. Over the next couple of days my car was making more noise then it was before I took it into the shop. So I took it back to the shop and the guy told me it was nothing wrong with my car. When I proceed to tell him yes it was he walked off on me and told me he didn’t have time for me. Very rude and unprofessional and he was the manager. When I finally got him to foment back and talk to me he told me the money I spent in his shop was nothing. Lol. I was so mad. As soon as I left there shop, my car started making noise again. So I took my car to another shop to get checked out and indeed it was the brakes and rotors Velasquez had put on my car. Now I’m irritated. NEVER EVER EVER go to THIS SHOP. Unprofessional and don’t know how to work on cars.

GO TO OXBOW!!!went in to have a broken exhaust pipe fixed..which they did..and for fair price.. but they said a half hour wait..and it took 2 hours to get truck in to look at it..for a 5 min fix.. i had my son there gettin nutty cause he was starving.. then just after i read a review while i was there about banging on catlytic converters..guy calls me back to truck and shows me work he did which was good.. and bangs on my cat and says it needs replaced cause its rattling and no good.. this cat was replaced a year ago and i know for a fact was not rattling before i brought it in.. looks like they try to run this scam on alot of people..go to oxbow... i should have.. but this was on my way to where i was going and thaught it would be faster and more convenient..boy was i wrong...took truck back to velsques and they wanted $180 to replace cat...i took it to oxbow and they did it for $145

I took my car to them to test why it didmt pass emisions they had the car for 4 days and 1330 miles later that they put on it and they call me up saying i owe them 300 dollars after they. Called me and told me it would cost. 330 400 dollars to fix it i said ok but did not tell them to go ahead and repair it but they did it any ways and i had to pay them this place is a big rip off DONT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE

Terrible experience went there put my vehicle on the rack and pounded on my muffler and then proceeded to pound on my cats sd I needed new mufflers and it would be $300 b/c I had flows and I just wanted two cheap mufflers thats all I wanted then he sd Ok $200 for cheap ones. No thnx

Took my car in to have them look at a power steering line after telling me they could not tighten no more. Advise me that it needed a new high pressure line. And would cost 220 to fix for a 20 part and maybe 30 minutes of there time. I told them I would have to come back and when backed my car out it was not running right got have way home and found out they did not put my spertine belt back on and left a wrench in my engine ideler pully

I paid $120 for 50c clamps they used for high pressure transmission lines. Another mechanic I went to afterwards could not believe the butcher job they did. This shop also replaced the muffler. Couple days later I start getting check engine codes which I found out later were all about malfunctioning exhaust system. I wouldnt trust these guys with mowing my lawn.

This place is terrible...I dont know what happened with them. I used to go here for basic odds and ends but now the service is terrible. I cant get anyone on the phone half the time, they give hispanics better pricing and discounts which I witnessed first hand after I went in and inquired about the same thing another customer asked about which was a duel exhaust for my SUV. Lady at the front said we keep prices low within the family. I didnt know how to take it so I just said OK with a very calm voice and confused look on my face and I walked away. I will never go there again or recommend anyone to go to this place. I am highly disappointed at Velasquez...each one of them has there own rules and they dont follow their own company website policies. I walked into them once before and I tried to pay for my repair with an AMEX because they say on there website that they take all major credit cards and they gave me BS on not taking my card and that the bill had to be settled in cash. So maybe it was just a bad day for them but it certainly doesnt deserve more than 1 star.

I brought in a car for exhaust work last week and was told i could wait for car.when i arrived at 8am was told couldnt get to it until 5pm and leave it overnight.had i know this would have brought car to another shop. receptionist was a complete idiot, so rude and had very bad customer service skills,owner couldnt speak english,and had to have receptionist translate everything for me.i took car to another muffler shop and had a pleasant experience.i would not recommend velasquez muffler shop in crest hill to anyone

Went in for a quote for headlight replacement. The mechanic told me if I brought the light myself he would install it for $25. after I bought the headlight on eBay for $25. I took it back him and the lady at the front told me since the quote wasnt written on paper they were going to charge me $250 and then she wanted to know where I ordered the part!!

Went there because car was over heating and they replaced the thermostat but then called and stated that they needed to replace the battery because the car wouldnt start...so they replaced the battery...after we got the car back the car continued to have issues with starting and this was not a issue before...so we took it back and they said it was the alternator...so that was replaced..the next day the car would not start after repairs were made...im questioning all prior repairs....we will not continue to use this place for car repairs..after 500 dollars worth of repairs the car is still not funtioning...
