Ive been to this shop three times because its a bit far from my house but it has been worth it. Each time my experience was better than the last. When you enter the store on the right hand side are about 2-3 shelves worth of books and 1-2 shelves with candles, currently there is less inventory since this store is unfortunately closing down. On the left hand side are bags upon bags of herbs, oils, and other things around those lines. In the front by the register are many different crystals to choose from. To those who havent been here Id suggest that you go because it is absolutely my favorite store for all things magical. The owner of the shop is very kind, tries to help you find what youre looking for, suggests things based on what he can read off your aura, has good prices, and occasionally has some funny jokes to share. The shop is usually opened Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 1pm but currently theres different hours because hes also trying to get things together once his business is done. The new time frame I believe it said on his window is 4pm but if you call him in advanced hes pretty flexible and is willing to open up around his old scheduled hours. My friend and I went to this shop on Tuesday. I called the owner in advance and he was very kind to open the shop early for us. I bought many oils, candles, and books. I walked out with 5 books and when I came home I realized 3 of them were the ones he suggested to me based on my aura and Im so glad he found these books for me. As a heads up for those who do decide to come to this store he is only able to accept cash at this time because again, his store is closing down. If you dont have cash on you a few stores down is a chase bank on the corner where you can withdrawal money which is what my friend and I had to. Again, I suggest people to go to this store because it has a great atmosphere with lots of amazing items to look at, and of course an adorable kitty.

The owner John is a wonderful person. He always makes everyone feel welcome, and hes passionate and great at what he does. Its sad to know such a wonderful store wont be around for too much longer. Thank you for all the help and support youve provided over the years. Its well appreciated.

I absolutely love it in here, the energy is all positive. The man who works here is extremely precious and kind. I find a lot of my spiritual books here, as well as my healing crystals/candles. I always find amazing parking spots, and the Goodwill is nearby!!!

House of Majick is worth checking out for sure. immediately at the moment when you first walk in you know youre in a very cool place and well probably be spending a little bit of time checking out everything! I definitely recommend making a stop at this place!!

Cant tell you how many times I came here and he said he was open and he was NOT... calling does NOT work. I called before and during waiting outside the store. He did not pick up at all. When he said he was going to be open... so his replies to people about calling first are just inconsiderate. This guy is just not okay.... If you say you will be open then be open... dont make us waste gas... some of us drive for 30 minutes just to see your shop.. but since this has happened on multiple occations I will not be going here again. And glad you are closing. You need to not be in bussiness no matter how ill you are. Because you cannot communicate with love. You only communicate with abrasiveness and hurt.

And The House of Magic is kind of hard to explain. Its on Packard Avenue in Cudahy but is only open certain hours. If you knock hard at the door the guy that runs the store lives upstairs and will come and open the door for you. They have all kinds of special rocks, incense, tarot card readings, things for wiccans whatever they are like witches or something. But I get a pretty good laugh every time I go there.

I really enjoyed coming down there, after a number of times of buying books that apparently were used and paying full price for them The owner who initially was so inviting and so welcoming and more than willing to talk about anything so that I can learn things started becoming more apprehensive to talk, then every time I came there the door was locked and said I had to ring the bell when I would ring the bell or was obviously irritated that someone was there he was more interested in watching what was on TV then Helping a possible client or customer thanks for creating a place that’s not inviting and uncomfortable to be in, I now I now Amazon deserves my business more than you you selfish person

So, unfortunately this shop isnt what it used to be. I was last here years ago and it was better. Now they dont have much and theres a bunch of Halloween decorations and some of it could pass as wiccan or magical but it just looks kind of cheap. Nothing great about it anymore. They did have a few nice ouiji boards and a large choice of oils and candles.

****CAUTION****⛦BAD ENERGY!!⛦AVOID IF YOU CAN⛦⛦CLEANSE EVERYTHING YOU BUY... AND YOURSELF AFTER YOU LEAVE!!!⛦Owner sleeps during limited open hours so dont head there unless you dont mind guessing if youll get in or not. Also CAUTION: harasses you to buy more with his lifes story and woes as a ploy, so watch out for that.Otherwise its a great place to haggle for better prices. Hes willing to come down on a lot for a buck. Go help this poor guy out! Buy something and donate to his charity!But on a serious note: I recommend shopping elsewhere if you value professionalism as a customer.

Cool store interesting books and some vintage things..they had hollistic stones and voodoo dolls and offered palm readings as well...owner was friendly and gave good prices

I once called, only to see if they had something in stock that I needed, the guy was extremely rude, and acted like I was bothering him by calling prior to driving out, so it’s safe to say if you call prior to going, your luck won’t be any better unlike the owner stated! As you can tell, the guy can’t even take constructive criticism without being nasty! Which are terrible ownership/proprietor qualities! Hope more shops with better people open up around the area REAL SOON! Oh yeah, forgot to mention he practically hung up on me, before I was even done speaking! Lol

The owner is an awesome man with super positive and contagius energy. Wide variety of items and all are reasonably priced. Great place overal with great energy! Highly recommend!

Well i called to just ask a question and the man there was very rude and getting angery about his day off when he had already let people in the store it took more enegery for him to be rude and yelling in the phone than it would have to let me ask a question and be done i have never heard of a place like this have such additude that claim to be able to help with all magical needs and i belive i have a demoness thats tryin to protect me but need to find if he could possably just point me in the direction to find my answer on who she was to a book referance or even heard of her befor

I dont go too often, but Ive been going to this shop the last 10 years.The owner John everyone speaks of on here is misunderstood. Hes very personable and helpful if you ask for his advice. He has that older powerful warlock vibe if that makes sense. Almost like Mr. Gold in Once Upon A Time! Hes not fake like retail associates can be in stores. I respect that!When I first came here 10 years ago preparing for a love spell John said something along the lines of; Well if you both slept together, your souls are already bonded forever. Then he gave me step by step instructions; what to draw on the candle. Things like that... WOW!Afterwords that same day, a psychic came in and randomly and gave me and my friend light readings. Afterwards, John banged a drum, and the psychic sat me and my friend down for a meditation. All for free! Then she wrote some quotes down for us to take home.The access to the shop can be difficult sometimes as John is battling cancer now. The hours are a bit funny, but if you call ahead hell open up the shop for you. Lets be real in the metaphysical community, there arent a lot of us so why keep the shop constantly open if this is an authentic shop that doesnt draw in an outside crowd?One time a female worker was running the sales and the register, this worker was a reiki healer and she did a free read on me one time (Also for free). She gave me a business card and I emailed her later requesting she give my sick cat a reiki cleanse, she never replied to me :(. But The House of Magick connects you to others with so many diverse gifts.The comment about the bad vibes is silly. Other metaphysical shops Ive been to felt like sterile gift shops with gargoyle memorabilia to draw in the common retailer. This shop is AUTHENTIC! You literally feel the power and the mystery, and the HISTORY of the craft when you walk into here. Magic can be both white and black depending what you make of it. Theres items sold here which could be presumed as black magick, with magick shouldnt that be an option? I was intimidated by it at first, now I connect to the shops energy. Its mysterious and takes you back to the medieval times of castles and sorcery.The comment about the blaring TV was not my experience. John immediately put on some meditative music it was beautiful. The music was like walking through a magical forest.Ill always respect this shop. They work with you, and always has items you are looking for. However John, your tiny thin spell candles are magenta/ pink, I would love if you got some red ones in! :)

Great store. Not what expected

The place is just giant scam. High prices for small things, unrelated books and just nothing to help beginner wiccans.

I went there three times in my lifetime so far one out of the two times the doors were open to the shop, however following years after I havent been able to get let into the shop, rang doorbell, called left a vm. No once responds kind of dissatisfied with the way its been.

The place was really cool, but everything was overpriced and the guy kept talking to me while i was trying to shop and it was really distracting

Bad business all around. Owner talked out loud of people wasting his time while I shopped and rushed me out when I took too long. Claiming to have things of more importance. Just reminded me why Amazon is booming.
