Exactly what we needed for our trip to Culebra .. Prices were reasonable (cheap for the island) and Carlos the owner was unbelievable. After renting and buying some of his quality equipment he gave us thorough and precise instructions that lead us to the time of our life.. honestly. I will never forget the time that he and his equipment allowed us to have. What a cool dude, thanks again. We cant wait to come back& will think of you and our experiences often

Very helpful, However due to the hurricane there were no tours at this time. The staff was friendly and very helpful in guiding you to the location that you need to go. I would definitely pay for the tour if available. The prices were also reasonable for a dive shop. I do wish the selection was bigger though

Carlos was great at helping us rent boogie boards for our family trip. This is high quality gear and was really FAR superior to any styrofoam boards that are cheap - these wont hold up to some of the waves that you can find on Culebra. Our rental boards were AWESOME and made our experience much more fun. Definitely recommend it. It is fully operational again after Maria, as of Feb 2018.

Really friendly and will tell you everywhere on the island to go. Beautiful water and diving!! Also, the best thing about Culebra is that there arent giant hotel chains anywhere on the island. Great place! Definitely coming back

I think we stopped by to talk to Carlos almost every day of our 8-day trip to Culebra. We rented fins and then bought some from him, but mainly we got lots and lots of great advice about making the most of the island. His satellite map and verbal descriptions were crucial to us doing some truly excellent snorkeling. Dont rely on the inaccurate cartoon map of Culebra that they have everywhere--come talk to Carlos instead, and rent some good gear. A boogie board is a must for Playa Flamenco.

My fiancé and I came to Culebra in May of 2017. We knew we wanted to go snorkeling but didnt know where to go. Luckily when we went to rent the gear (at this location), Carlos was an expert on when and where to go. The gear worked flawlessly and allowed us to swim with and view sea turtles. Carlos became an excellent part of the experience and when we go back to Culebra, we will definitely be visiting him in his shop again.

Excellent staff with great knowledge of beaches and restaurants. Dont waste your money spending $30+ for guided tours and equipment! He provided me and the wife with snorkel equipment, a map of the island and suggestions for dinner, travel on the island, a fantastic little cove to swim in for only $15! Well worth the price!

We arrived in Culebra and went to see Carlos who was recommended to us by my cousin Emmy. He not only provided nice equipment and great service, he arranged transportation for our group of ten! He took his time with us and told us where to go. We had a wonderful driver and were able to travel from beach to beach with ease. Thank you, Carlos for ensuring a great experience. We will definitely come see you again!- Lysette NJ

My wife and I spent 10 days in Culebra and met Carlos on day one and he was incredible, my wife is fearful of snorkeling and had tried it before and I couldnt believe that after 10 minutes with Carlos she wanted to rent gear and go. I actually purchased a new mask for myself and Carlos made some great adjustments for me after it wasnt performing perfectly on day one. When we left the shop we knew exactly where to go and what we needed to do to see what we wanted to see. We will be back next year!

Carlos was very helpful! Showed us on map exactly where to get in the water on the map down to a specific stone which was a sandy entry point. He also give us routes to swim to see turtles and more. Made sure equipment was perfect and helped us find local food and other beaches! Great experience!

The fellow who worked there gave good snorkeling site info. However, *all* the snorkels were leaky and didnt purge cleanly. That is what I expect from rental gear and didnt complain...What is unreasonable is renting gear for 5 days with a 3:30pm return and getting charged an extra day when we returned the gear at 4:30pm.I get it, I should have returned on time and I should have complained about the leaking snorkels ( I would have back home ). But being on vacation I didnt make a fuss.My lesson is learned. I will bring own mask and snorkel from now on and *never* rent anything but fins.Dealing with Leaky gear and inflexible sales tactics is simply not cool.Sorry to post this but it is what happened...

The owner Carlos is so knowledgeable and friendly, plus his shop has a great selection of items for rentals or sale. Plus his shop is really convenient to get to. Were normally divers, but had to snorkel due to a couple sinus infections - he had great recommendations and would highly recommend him and his shop.

The gentleman was very helpful with the local snorkeling spots but everyone in our group had slow leaking goggles which can really ruin a snorkeling trip. You may call it inexperience but we all snorkeled two days prior without a single issue. We mentioned it to him when we returned the gear but he did not seem concerned at all about the worn out/malfunctioning masks.

My fiancee and I went to Culebra for a night this past week. Since we didnt plan ahead to snorkel, we decided to stop by the shop to see if we would be able to fit in for the next days excursion. There we met Carlos. He did what he could to try to find a spot for us and while it wasnt successful, meeting Carlos was one of the highlights of our stop at Culebra. He was a very friendly person (like all the rest that we met at Culebra) and was as helpful as could be. He showed us the spots to visit around the island and how to get there. We had a wonderful time just having a conversation with Carlos. If you do get a chance, stop by the shop. Plenty to get there (snorkel gear, sunscreen etc.) and great conversations as well with Carlos. We will def. visit Puerto Rico again, especially Culebra and next time, we hope to get a chance to snorkel (and visit) Culebrita with the Culebra Snorkeling and Diving Center crew. Thank you Carlos.P.S. If you have any hesitation about visiting P.R or the islands, leave your worries behind. The island is as beautiful as ever and the people are AMAZING.

Culebra Snorkel or Dive ?Snorkeling is also known as free-diving: Strap on a mask, snorkel, and fins you’ll be ready to quite literally pass through the looking-glass into another world. The warm waters of Culebra embraces your body and frees you from gravity, allowing you to fly among the parrots, butterflies, angels, damsels, and, turtles then dance with the hamlets and scarlet ladies, and bow to the barracuda and dolphin. The tropical sea covers an unrestricted collection of life. And one of our greatest attractions is that you can wade into the water off any point of land and find yourself immersed in a universe of outrageous color and interesting characters. Of course it’s always better off a picture perfect gorgeous beach … or one with nothing but solitude and sand. And whether you’re just looking for a calm swim with friendly fish or a synchronized float with your significant other, we will help you found your perfect Caribbean beach. A day of snorkeling or diving on Culebra that focuses first on safely reaching the best waters for the conditions in the Culebra area, will ensure splashing among thickets of Elkhorn, Staghorn, and Pillar coral, while poking into shallow caves and overhangs that dance with tropical fish of every color and persuasion. The clear blue skies highlights Culebra’s bleach-white beaches, transparent turquoise water and luxuriant reefs, all of which are among the very best in the Caribbean. Flamenco Beach, on the north side, is the best stretch of sand on the island, which boasts some 2 miles of sink-to-your-ankles, soft-coral-sand beach. Not to take away from the other snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and paddle boarding sites Culebra can offer (over 20) with proper directions are just a short walk, hike, or drive. The west end of Culebra is protected from the Caribbean’s north eastern swells and has a shoreline reef system that opens to sandy encased shallow lagoons, The shoreline reef system extends out from the beach to honeycombed depths of 10-60ft thick then drop off to sandy flats simply keeping the sea life close which is perfect for snorkeling. Just under the surface, hemostat-jawed needlefish, yellow tail snapper, spanish grunts, and various grouper stalk silvery blankets of minnows while cobalt clouds of blue tang swarm over boulders of brain coral, leisurely picking at tufts of algae. Fish, lobsters, stingrays, turtles, ells, and crabs fill every nook and cranny of the reef.
