I love this store but in the last couple weeks it has went down hill. There arent enough employees for checkout and the self checkout problem after problem... management needs to fix these issues

Store was clean and stocked neatly. Two separate employees were extra helpful in suggesting certain things I was looking at. Great experience.

A few things about Safeway that I really like is their costumer service is always on point. I was shopping for a cake today I asked Alvin for his help he took his time to point me in the right direction and he also gave me a few recommendations. It feel good to go shopping when you find people like Alvin to support you when is need it. Thanks

Love this store with one exception, there are never enough open registers. I mainly use self check out but it can be a pain when getting soda or bigger stuff because the machine won’t let you remove bags until you are done.

Had a great experience ordering a cake on the phone with someone from the bakery, took about five minutes and they’ll have it ready in time for my son’s birthday. Way better than Giant off of Mapledale plaza who’s employee gave me a terrible attitude and refused to take an order from me over the phone. Highly recommend Safeway for you cake needs :)

Never crowded. Too heavily reliant on self checkout. Whole store is dimly lit.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Every time I go here there’s expired food/products. You know they are aware because they’ll put it on sale. However lastnight 09/06/2018 was the LAST straw. The expiration on the salmon I purchased was 06/12/2018!!!! Never again.

Used to be when this store opened, there was order in how aisles and end caps set up. Now, many of the items I buy are hard to find and where makes no sense. Plus, only store in the area saying they have scan your ID to buy alcohol. Checking ID is not good enough. Wegmans is much better, Giant too, so I rarely visit.

Best place to shop they have other foods that other grocery stores do not have I love shopping at Safeway

A few month ago I was frustrated b/c of shortage of cashier but now they start self checkout much better!!!

My wife and I really like this Safeway. Most employees seem like the up beat type and like to chat a little during ✔ out. Only had one temporary check out guy that I really didnt like, trying to say to step back while I was grabbing groceries to put in our cart. I get covid, but that dude had a stick in the right spot.

A larger, busier Safeway. It does have a wider selection then the smaller Safeway at Tacketts Mill, and this store can steam your seafood!

Sold me baby formula ready made that expired the next day and would not exchange it or return it for me. Told me to call the store manager. It was not my fault it was yours.. Super disappointment with with rude woman that I spoke with at customer service. Usually its an ok experience Anthony is super nice.

Its an unremarkable store when compared to others I have been to within their chain. Theres nothing outstanding, but I havent noticed anything that would justify a negative review either. In other words, I have consistently found the store to be well within my expectations for a Safeway.

Great Experience, especially since I hadnt been out in the stores for a while! One of the staff member in the bakery department passed by and saw I was struggling with carrying and balance my items. She offered to get me a basket, but I told her I had just used my last pair of gloves before making this impromptu stop at the grocery store and I didnt have anymore gloves in my car. She offered me a pair, but I told her I only needed one so I wouldnt use up their supplies. While social distancing, I followed her. There was an empty cart inside the bakery area. She got it for me and even wiped it down. Talk about customer service! I am very appreciative and thanked her. Needless to say, I was able to shop more that day and filled my shopping cart when I only intended to get the few items I could carry.Connie M.

The store itself is pretty good but there were NO sanitizer products available to clean the carts. This wasnt the first time that happened. Nobody cleans the carts like at other stores. At least provide cleaning products for customers. It would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Safeway has the best selection of fresh flowers but their produce is usually lacking freshness. The options in the isles are good but its always messy and the lighting is sad.

Crystal was such a great help! We had almost lost hope but we stopped here to see if there was a cake that fit our needs. My brothers birthday was today and she helped me find an amazing cake for him today! He wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and the cake she showed me was absolutely perfect! He loved it! The whole family loved it too! It was a beautiful three tier cake! Thank you Crystal for helping us find a quick fix that worked out perfectly! We went to a few places where it seemed they didnt care about our needs but this Safeway was right on the money! My brother had a great birthday thanks to you!!! We will be back for my sons birthday cake in October! Thank you again crystal!

Clean store, well stocked. National chain, trusted brand with consistent representation. Many gourmet/hard-to-find produce items available here. Very nice wine selection. Lovely bakery and deli. Especially love the olive bar and ready-made salads. Personnel are friendly and helpful.

This is my neighborhood supermarket of choice. People there are always friendly and super helpful, prices are reasonable and the quality of produce, meats and bakery items are good.

Safeway is easy to locate. Lots of parking. The store layout is nicely lit. Product placement has sensible flow. Produce most often are fresh. They have a fresh live lobster tank. Meat department very friendly and will prepare your cuts as requested. With the Safeway card you can reap savings as-well-as using weekly flyers.

Ok store store. People friendly. Great choices.

Love there coupons

This is one of the better Safeway stores in the area. It stays well-stocked and the pharmacy here has a nice efficient staff. The prices are somewhat competitive, it really depends on the item but there are also some very good sales on coffee and meats on a regular basis.

My go to grocery store, always high quality with good prices

Consistantly under staffed, just like the one in Lake Ridge. They only have one register open in the evenings with the self-checkout closed. Regular prices on items are well above market value. When they do go on sale its normal price, but you think its a better deal.

Great supermarket. Has everything one needs. Make sure to sign up for a safeway card. With it you will save quite a bit of money.

The pharmacy manager is a total jerk. My mother has issues every single solitary time she goes in to get her medication. My mother is a regular customer and she should be treated with respect and kindness. I have asked her to switch her pharmacy because it is clear her business is not appreciated.

The staff is very helpful. I tend to go very late and they are always friendly. Food is always fresh and I can always find what I need.

Its always open till midnight thats what I like about safeway its the best option for shopping groceries when you dont have any option...kudos for serving us even at this drastic times of pandemic...

I love this location. The sales are good if you are a member which is free. The only downside are the long lines. They almost dont seem to care to have only one register open when there are many more registers available to ease the lines of customers. Other than that, employees are always friendly.

Been in this location for 4 years. Each time I need customer service, it has been a test of patience. Its not that busy and someone for customer service has been called at least three times. Safeway needs to train their employees they have a customer based business and which means great customer service is a must.... Happy others had a better experience.

Horrible Pharmacy as they promise the medication will be ready in an hour now its 2 and half hrs still not ready and everytime they ask you to wait another 30 to 40 minutes in additional of two hrs its not acceptable and i am going back to express Scripts.

This is the safeway store that is closest to our house. The staff are friendly and its clean. I grew up shopping at Safeway, and while you wont necessarily always find the cheapest prices here, they have decent sales and the produce is fresh. Watermelon was on sale this week, which makes my family happy.

Big store. Soon store look will be outdated hope they will have a future plan. Cashiers do a great job.

The produce and bakery departments are great. There are lots of choices for special diets and organic foods. The lines can be long. Make sure to use their loyalty program and coupons.

If you shop the deals, they have them.

Prices are pretty good and so is selection. However a several times I got the whole cooked chicken or other precooked/packaged meal from the front of the store and found that it wasnt cooked all the way.

Lady working with the bread section was awesome and very helpful.

Not a single shopping cart available at 10am with only 10 cars in the parking lot.

The manager there is not only cold but having zero customer service courtesy when talks with the customers he is nothing but one man with bad mode. I noticed he is highly suspicious of the employees under him the way he acts around them. I highly suggest this man needs a lot of customer-managerial training. I am not going to that store again.

Really like this Safeway store and friendly staff, including pharmacy staff. My kids look forward to getting free cookies the bakery gives away from time to time. Sometimes there arent enough cashiers during peak hours though and the customer lines can become long. Sometimes this is rectified by staff opening up a lane or two, which is greatly appreciated. As far as making suggestions for improvements, it is my opinion that the organic produce section (which is my favorite part of the store aside from the ice cream aisle) would greatly benefit from more attention and care. Ive found on several occasions rotten fruits that looked like they had been neglected for a few days. Please do better to keep this critical section fresh and Ill be a happier customer!

The store was ok but it was a drag race in the parking lot

This is the most unfriendly safe way store i have ever visited. Last night my wife went to shop there. When she went to the register, The cashier did not make any eye contact, didnt greet at all and she was busy talking with a co worker. At the end she said, your total is this.And this is not the first time. We have experienced the same few times earlier. I think the store management doesnt take care about the customer courtesy and friendliness.

Safeway is a very clean place here at Merchant Plaza and they have just about everything you may want the staff is very helpful and friendly

I really like Safeway but shopping at the Cheshire Station store has been a real trial in patience. They are short of some advertised items to start with, had to go to Giant at times. They do not make up vegetable trays without an order. Even then they are not the best veggies. Have had to return for a refund. The check out lines are always very long, sometimes down the aisles. The cashiers dont seem to be aware and do not call for help until a customer asks them to. This has happened any time of the day. I have returned items to shelves and gone to another store.
