Had a lot of knowledge took and bought a tree. Sometime after I emailed him to help trim my tree and never heard from him again spent 600.00

Would give a 0 star the person above me is right she did the exact same thing to me and right before Christmas at that 😡 dont even waste your time this isnt a BUSINESS!

Very bad experience. Showed up Tuesday morning 10:30am (at the time of this review this was listed as when they were open). The place is at someones house and it doesnt look very good, broke sign and a little shady. I rang the doorbell and a lady answered as if I was a door to door salesman. When I said I was here for bonsai she said shes not open and wouldnt open until the weekend.I will obviously not return and I would advise you search elsewhere for your next bonsai tree.

Dont let the outside deter you. This bonsai place is the best one in texas Ive been to. Ive been looking all over (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, etc.)for a good place to find my trees and this is it. The owner answered all my questions thoroughly and even showed me examples. He has a huge greenhouse packed with everything from huge bonsais and tiny little baby bonsais.

Ignore the location and go check out the inventory. Ray is a good guy and knows his trees. I purchased 5 trees from him. I def look forward to picking his brain more in the future

Ray is just a joy and he knows his stuff when it comes to bonsai. Dont let the look of the place from the street tint your judgment. Just follow Bonsai Lane to the back. Youll find 100s of wonderful well cared for trees at reasonable prices. Oh and ask him about the soil he uses. It will save you tons of money.Just be prepared to pay cash or check.

Great experience! Ray and his wife were both extremely helpful and patient. The prices were great. I went to buy a bonsai pot but left with four bonsai pots and four trees. Ray is definitely a bonsai expert. I will absolutely be stopping by the next time that Im in the Dallas area. Just make sure to call ahead of time to let them know that you are coming. Keep up the good work Bent Tree Bonsai.

Ray Hernandez and Bent Tree is the best kept secret in the entire south west. Ray is one of the most respected artists in the region, and he has a really great nursery with the best stock at the best prices. Like others say, Ray is very personable and will spend the day talking bonsai and offering advice. Great stock, plenty of Lava and other substrates, the most competitive prices in this part of the USA. If you are here in Dallas you already have been to Bent Tree, and you are a little angry at me for telling our secret. If you are passing through looking for the best bonsai nursery in the region, thank me! You found it!

Several years ago when I first got into Bonsai, I reached out to Ray because I couldnt find any legitimate bonsai gardens with a wide variety of Texas natives. Ray and I went on a dig and then visited his garden and I was amazed. If you are looking for a HUGE variety of mature bonsais, Rays garden will not let you down. I highly recommend visiting Bent Tree Bonsai if you want an amazing bonsai.

Owner Ray is a very personable guy. He has a tremendous amount of patience. My friend who accompanied me is Vietnamese and a little hard to understand, but Ray was very nice to her and he took the time to listen to all of her questions and he gave very clear and easy to understand directions. We learned an incredible amount about growing Bonsai in the hour or so that we were there. His prices are reasonable and I highly recommend that you pay him a visit.

I dropped in on a Sunday just hoping the place was open. Knocked on the door and an older gentleman answered. I introduced myself and asked if I could see his bonsais. He was polite and told me to hang on and he was gonna get the key for his backyard. When he came back and walked me into his bonsai farm- I was in bonsai heaven. Wow!! What an extensive collection! Then he gave me a tour of his bonsais. Ray was so kind in answering all of my questions and I never felt rushed. I was there for about a half hour picking his brain. He even shared a very special story with me on how he got into bonsai! I felt like I had a DanielSon- Mr. Miagi- moment! I left with two beautiful specimens and will be a client of Rays, Bent Tree Bonsai forever.. Thank you so much Ray and God Bless you for sharing your art with the world!

I just pulled in there and had no idea where to park it seemed to be two different residences there. I have no idea where the Bonsai is or supposed to be or the shop. I tried calling the number but nobody answered so lost my business

An absolute exceptional experience!My objective of going to Bent Tree was to purchase a pot, however after seeing the vast vegetation collection I couldnt help but to pick up a few starter trees (Bougainvillea, Chines Elm, & Crape Myrtle). Ray, the owner, has an exceptional mature tree collection as well.Going of on a tangent - Ray told me that you can contact him and he will send you photos and can mail out trees. SO for someone looking for a specific variety, trained with bonsai root, CONTACT RAY!Back from the tangent - What made the experience exceptional was that Ray offered to repot the trees in pots I purchased free of charge. It wasnt the free of charge that made the experience exceptional, rather the one on one lesson I got from a knowledgeable man in repotting and pruning.Thank you Ray!

My girlfriend and I were taking a vacation in the Dallas area we searched for a good bonsai store around the city, I came across Bent Tree read the reviews and thought that we would check it out and all I can say is WOW!! Ray is a very nice gentleman and will talk and teach you anything you need or want to know.. He tells you about all of his trees and gives you awesome advise we ended up getting 2 trees one being a 12 year old Chinese Elm for amazing prices.. If I were to get these same trees online I would pay almost triple for what I got 2 from Ray for.. When we pass through Dallas in Sept on our way to Houston we will be making a stop to see Ray as he is going to care for our Trident Maple shape and trim it up.. We will be stopping and seeing Ray every time we go to Dallas or just pass through.. For any person in the bonsai hobby looking it get in or just want to see beautiful plants and trees I would highly recommend Bent Tree and Ray!!

Went to visit the farm and right after we arrived it started to rain hard. Even in the rain, Mr Hernandez never stopped smiling and never made me feel rushed. He even offered an umbrella to my wife. Extensive inventory of plants, happy to help with questions and offered classes for me as well. 6 stars!

Ray is a wonderful guy with a wonderful garden. I just spent the afternoon with him and he taught me about the trees and their care. Helped me pick out a beautiful 17 year old ficus nariifolia! Then trimmed it and repotted it for me. I will be going back in the spring for my next tree.

At first I was a little suprised, I was expecting a typical store with all the frills. Then I met Ray. I spent the next hour in awe! He has some of the most amazing bonsai that I have seen. If you are looking for a bonsai like the pictures you Kay find a couple. What you want and need is your very own work of art! Here you shall find just that. And a very knowledgable gentlemen. My only regret is that I showed up with our cash. Next time... Thanks Ray, you made my day a whole lot brighter!

I cant say how much I appreciate Rays help with my bonsai, it is my first bonsai and he offers lessons as well a plentiful amount of trees.
