Very nice place to work! We got here at around 9am and it was empty but starts getting busier closer to lunch. I just ordered a Latte but they definitely have other drinks+food. I’m interested on going back for wine and succulents and the mimosa flight. Overall the environment is aesthetically pleasing, modern looking and a lot of space!
This place is very nice! The thing is it is pricy, which I wouldn’t mind if the dishes were reasonable in price, taste and portion. I don’t recommend getting the açaí bowl, it is very overpriced for the very small portion you get. There are other places I’ve rated that are much better. The pancakes we pretty good, but very thin. I ordered them for a 6 year old and she definitely finished them. But I don’t think they would fill an adult up, unless you regularly don’t eat much. The coffee was pretty good, I got the white chocolate latte. The one dish I would highly recommend you try is the Kale Yea. SUPER GOOD!
Went there for brunch and it was just okay. The mimosa flight was a highlight. But they got my order completely wrong and didn’t really do anything to fix it except apologize. It is a cute place and nice aesthetic. My husband enjoyed the chicken and waffle. But it wasn’t that much food. It was fine. Nothing crazy, but the customer service could be better. Not sure if I’ll go back.
Hot chocolate very good. A bit too upscale and not enough flavor in the food to be this pricey. Better off at first watch. For the cost of breakfast for 2, just not worth it.
If you like great cocktails, amazing coffee and espresso, and friendly humans behind the counter then youve found the right place. The music is bumping and eclectic, definitely fits the vibe of a top notch espresso bar slash cocktail lounge. Makes Sunday a Funday! They host events every week, plus a monthly wine tasting paired with a succulent sale! Whats better than trying new wines and taking home a plant for under $30?You owe it to yourself to treat yourself right by pulling up a seat at the bar or the quieter outdoor patio, ordering a banging grilled cheese with tomato bisque, an espresso martini (or two), and turning an afternoon into time well spent.
This is my new favorite spot in Dallas! The atmosphere is so chill and inviting. I never would have guessed that their adult coffee beverages would be so amazing! (Theres a reason some of them are limit two per person!) I had their chicken and waffles with a side of home fries. I wish there would have been more strawberries on top, and the portion of the chicken slightly larger, but it was absolutely delicious. I recommend getting several breakfast items and sharing them all if you have a small group. Their service was really wonderful, and all of the staff was super attentive and kind. Absolutely coming back the next time Im in Dallas!
Saturday night trivia is the highlight of our week! The atmosphere is buzzing (which highlights that this is a coffee shop AND bar) and there is plenty of seating room for the groups that come attend.Drinks are a bit pricey ($4 to add an extra shot into any drink?) but we love the atmosphere and would come to study, hang out, or smash some Sporcle questions 😉
This is a hip coffee shop with lots of great and comfortable seatings, and plentyof outlets for your electronic devices. They serve all kinds of awesome coffee and espresso drinks, and I think they also serve alcoholic beverages too. Although, I do not like to be in any place that serves alcohol, but I really dont mind this one, because it doesnt feel like a drunkard atmosphere here. Another good thing about them is that they are open till 10:00 p.m. on weekdays. Perfect for studying.
Vibrant! Great coffees and the breakfast burrito was also tasty. They have lots of power outlets and good wifi. It was busy but didnt take long for us to find a seat and the service was pretty fast, considering. Food is delivered to your table but drinks are collected from the counter and with all the general noise from customers, the staff had to shout so that customers could hear that their order is ready. So it was pretty noisy inside.
Ive been here for drinks before and loved it, but the food is great as well! I got the Nacho Tots and they were amazing! They did a really great job of getting the toppings throughout the dish so that every bite was cheesy and delicious. The tots were perfectly cooked and somehow managed to stay crisp throughout. We also got the smores and they were a fun treat. The ambience here is also great of course!
Best Benedict I’ve ever had.I highly recommend anything from their brunch menu, with a variety of well crafted dishes and absolutely perfect portions, you seriously can’t go wrong. They also serve a really good cup of coffee!
There was a very long wait to be seated for Sunday Brunch, even though we were on the reservation list. The food was good & the staff was nice. The chicken & waffles is the best.
We came here for brunch on a Sunday after putting our name on the waitlist. The wait wasn’t bad, the food was amazing and the coffee drinks are some of the best I’ve had. Our waiter was also really great, but something was going on with the hostess. Her attitude and tone were extremely off putting. She was rude for no reason to everyone who walked through the door. Still 100% worth a visit. The food quality is top notch and I highly recommend the espresso martini.
GREAT PLACE! Found it by accident, but a great accident. Food was delish and beautiful. But what I loved about it, was the portions. The portions size were HUMAN SIZE...you know like for regular sized human stomachs. I felt the price was right for the right portion of food, at the risk of sounding stuck-up..it felt like Europe. The place was wide open spaces, light and airy, the staff was super friendly and happy. Love it and will be back!
Went here for the first time. It was obvious that we were sitting in because we were sitting in. I ordered a cappuccino and was looking forward to it being served in a real cup because that was what I had seen in the photos. I guess you have to ask for a real cup even if you’re sitting in. Lady brought my small paper cup and sat it down on the table. When I picked it up it seemed very light. I took the lid off and was surprised to see my small paper cup literally not an ounce over half full! I wish I could put a picture. Most of that was foam. Pretty pricy for foam and a couple of sips of coffee. Do not recommend.
I love Halcyon. Ive been to all the locations in Austin my time living there, and I was ecstatic to see one here in Dallas.First off, I LOVE THE VIBES HERE. the music taste is great, the ambiance is awesome. If you want to come here to study, I advice you to rethink if you cannot focus in loud conversations and music. The music is quite loud, but its perfect to browse casually on your laptop, bring your friends for some games (yes they have so many games!!), or drinks/smores.The reason why I gave 4 stars-- the Mayan hot chocolate was good but not great. The server was nice to describe the cinnamon and cayenne mixture of this drink before ordering, and I requested to put less cayenne. The spices were a good balance, however, my hot chocolate tasted more watery than I wouldve liked. I wish the drink was more milky. I did like how they added in animal crackers on the side- a cute touch! Im sure there are other drink options Id like better, but the Mayan hot chocolate didnt wow me. ***Dont get it if youre a fan of milky hot chocolate or make sure to request for milk in your cup.Regardless, I will be back again for sure for something else.
Comfortable cafe/restaurant/bar with a chill atmosphere and convenient all-day hours (all-day breakfast, too). A great place to hang out and study. There are plenty of outlets along the walls and a good number of seats. Their drinks and menu items are of excellent quality. Service is fast and the dining areas are clean. Nearby parking is free and the view from their large windows is not too bad at night. Within walking distance to a lot of other hip dining and hangouts at Lower Greenville. This is my newest favorite study spot in Dallas.
Vibes were immaculate. Bartender helped me choose a local beer I loved and my friend an Instagram-worthy mixed drink. Seems like a perfect place for a coffee date, study place, or after-work hangout. Small plates also available. Pricing for drinks is on the higher side. You’re not dishing out an arm and leg but you are paying for premium service and decent well selections.
Great place and great drinks. Kaitlin is the best bartender ever. In addition to match exactly our taste for cocktails, she was so kind and fun speaking with us!
Robin our server was fantastic, attentive, without being intrusive. Perfect.Mary made us feel welcomed.... really nice beginning of our day.
Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere featuring a well range of coffee drinks and delicious food of course. The vanilla cappuccino was excellent, rich, thick and very smooth. The southwest scramble was hearty and meaty along with some well grilled sourdough bread with some homemade jam to top it off. The buttermilk pancakes were light and fluffy and went great with banana slices. Parking in back. Highly recommend Halcyon. Enjoy of my foodie connoisseurs!
Good coffee and friendly staff! As a student, I really appreciate their late hours! They are pretty much the only coffee shop in Dallas open past 8pm.
Service is terrible. You wait in line for 30 minutes to order and they don’t have the food menu posted to look at while you’re waiting. The google menu isn’t up to date so when I did order they no longer offered what I asked for. Ended up deciding last minute on a skillet and it was sub par at best. Lastly, I ordered a Thai iced coffee and was given a chai tea latte. At this point I was so annoyed with the service that I didn’t even want to go back to the front to correct it.
Loved the variety of mimosas, great food, cute atmosphere. Very comfy, relaxed coffee shop vibes
Best coffee and bar in Lower Greenville. Great vibe, drinks, and food. My favorite place to camp out and work then hang out will co-workers. Staff are great and friendly.
Great place for cocktails and hanging out with friends. We were there during the day for Mimosa flights and it had a very chill vibe. Excellent bartender and staff.
Good place for a nice and quick bite, if yoy can survive the nightmare of trying to find parking while the valet parking abuses reserving all the spots. They have a section for kids with toys and entertainment. Food has good quality. Portions are decent size not Texas size. A little over price in my opinion. I guess they cater to hipsters and prices are higher. Service is good just a little slow. Coffee is good here too. Management should be more conscious on letting the valet parking just reserved with cones all the spots available in the parking lot next to the restaurant. It is already tight for parking and on top of that you have the abusive valet crew.
One of the best place in lower Greenville. If your tired of work from home like me, take ur laptop n hit this spot.
This place was very good. I found it calming to work on my assignments while having my latte, The employees were very nice. I’ll definitely be coming back.
A modern and refreshing take on bars (then add coffee). Something for everyone at this Greenville location with good drinks at a decent price point and friendly, youthful service. Patrick and Sidney were extremely hospitable and ATTENTIVE, something that is somewhat lacking at the local bars around them. The food is solid enough to keep regulars and the drinks are interesting enough to reel in strangers.
This is my go to spot for brunch when I visit Dallas. Their drinks and food is amazing. Great low key vibes and always great service.
Overall this place has great atmosphere, very bright and fresh, and the food was delicious. A few things did feel clunky to me. Initially, when you walk in, its unclear whether you are going to be seated or you seat yourself. There is a hostess that directs you to the bar to order. After ordering breakfast and coffee, we were given a number, and we sat on the patio. Someone did come out to tell us our coffee was ready to pick up at the bar inside. When our food was brought to us, there wasnt silverware. Not sure if that was our fault or the servers, I didnt see a silverware station, I had to ask for some. Tables around us had dirty dishes for a while, a new group of customers had to move them so they could sit.I ordered the fried egg sandwich, it was tasty. I did pay an extra $2 for avocado, and was disappointed at the sliver they gave me.I definitely would recommend and plan to go back.
One of the best lavender london fogs ive had in some time
The coffee is okay, nothing you cannot find at Starbucks or just brewed at home. The night hours at this place are too loud, to where you cannot hear your order being called. Apart from that, it is a cute place to go with friends while out and about on Lower Greenville.
Good coffee, good layout, but the internet went out and they don’t know the difference between and wireless router and a modem. They should tell people they don’t have internet before they buy coffee and setup for work.
Blueberry green tea smacks you with that strong flavor! Great on a hot spring day, shoutout to Patrick for the recommendation. Halcyon mac is really good as well.
Service! New favorite breakfast Spot. Great food
This is easily, by far, my favorite coffee place in Dallas. The food is impeccable, the vibe is fantastic, the space is huge, the service is pleasant, the events that Halcyon does are so fun, and - most importantly - their coffee is FANTASTIC!Halcyon is my go-to study spot, my go-to first date spot, my go-to brunch spot (yes, they have a full bar with plenty of mimosas and coffee-themed cocktails), and a landmark for Lower Greenville. If you want a good cup of coffee, half priced bottles of wine, yummy flatbreads, a quaint patio, or a great meeting spot, I can’t recommend the place enough.
Halcyon, is a small-mid sized coffee shop/bar with a urban-modern vibe to it. I am a big fan of their working hours, during these difficult times Halcyon makes the sacrifice of staying open a bit later than others. I find it hard to study once I get home so this place is a life saver! I forgot to mention that they also serve food! (Grab you QR code scanner cause they got their menu near the register) I have yet to try their food menu but I will soon.I absolutely love their Iced: Lavender Latte, the young lady last night made it perfectly! It was balanced beautifully between the sweetness and bitterness, they serve it to you in a plastic cup but you can ask for glass as well. The temperature is normal not too cold nor too hot, keep in mind that it does get loud, so bring some headphones and enjoy your stay!God bless!-iJase
I came in the morning for coffee and it was great. Super friendly, awesome vibe, and they make a mean Cortado. Ill be coming back for a cocktail!
Needed a quick bite and some coffee before heading to our AirBnB for our anniversary, and this place was epic. We knew for certain we were among our kind (Millennials) when at closing time they turned the lights UP instead of down, lmao. The matcha and latte were both excellent, as well as the fried egg sandwich, but man those potatoes? They were absolutely phenomenal. Entirely on their own level of awesome. Loved it!
Halcyon is one of my favorite spots in the area - fantastic brunch and coffee for a daytime visit, fun cocktails, snacks, and events in the evenings. Awesome atmosphere inside, great patio space - definitely worth coming back to again and again!
I’ve only ordered food delivered from Halcyon but everything I’ve eaten has been delicious! The vegan skillet is *chefs kiss* and I need the recipe for their house vegan cheese. The toast and strawberry jam it came with was also great. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Definitely will continue ordering brunch from here.
Coffee was good. Atmosphere amazing. Lots of board games. Socially distanced socializing.I didnt stay long enough to feel the vibes, but they were definitely there
This is a great place to hang out with a date or spend some time studying. The staff is nice and accommodating and make their cocktails very well. They also have plenty of outlets. However, I wouldn’t come here if you’re looking for great coffee or espresso it’s good but not great. But hey, there’s always lattes and beer here for those non coffee connoisseurs.
It was a strange and almost uncomfortable environment. After waiting a while, a girl quickly told us that a server was on the way. However, we didnt have a server until we were finally checked on by someone who seemed like the manager, and by that time, he definitely made the effort to redeem the experience up to that point. The food was average and I did appreciate his consistent follow up, but I never got a reason or even an apology for being ignored for an extended period of time. Maybe there was some disorganization amongst the staff? Regardless, I cant wholeheartedly recommend this place with todays experience.
Great vibe, good coffee and other drinks.
Plenty of tables, plenty of variety in seating, little risk of it closing down in another month- lol- and a very good latte.
The service and food were exceptional. Their espresso shot tasted off and there are a lot of tripping hazards on the walk in. A few recommendations, get some yellow paint for the outside tripping hazards and make reconfigure your espresso machine. The Vietnamese coffee and mimosa flight were amazing.
Very disappointed with the service here. Im new to the Dallas area and my cousin from Seattle came to visit. We were loving the decor as soon as we walked in. I ordered an iced chai and a Cobb salad. The girl at the counter just handed me a card stand with no direction. I asked the girl that checked me out if they would bring them to us. She said they will call your name if you just hang here.My cousin then ordered after me, the French toast, and we found a spot outside. I went back in and asked a different girl if the coffees sitting on the counters were ours. They were. I asked if they would then just bring the other items to us and she said yes. I went and sat down and they brought out the French toast right Away. They looked delicious and my cousin loved them. We waited and waited and she was almost finished, so I ran inside just to make sure that they could find me or to see if my salad was on the counter. The girl the checked me out then aggressively asked me what I needed. I said, Im just waiting for my salad. She goes, theyll bring it to you. And I said, oh I was just confused because you told me that you would call my name. She then proceeded to cut me off before I could barely finish my sentence and yell at me, in front on customers none the less, CALM DOWN AND DO NOT YELL AT ME. I was just making drinks. I didnt tell you anything! She kept going on and on. I told her that I was not yelling, because I wasnt and truly wasnt mad at all, i was just confused as to what to do. She escalated a situation that didnt need escalating. It was truly a misunderstanding because I was told two different things. I tried talking calmly to her and she would not speak to me. I told her that I didnt appreciate being yelled at either and walked away. Very maturely she continued to talk about me as I walked out the door. At this point my cousin was done eating. They were bringing my salad out as we were leaving and I told them to just send it back and we left, because I would truly rather be out $20 for a salad and a drink than eat whatever they were bringing me. The only review I could give on what I did try was that the chai was watery, but I obviously would not have even attempted to have them fix a drink for me after that display. I was extremely embarrassed to be talked to like a petulant child in front of other paying customers. Im also in the service industry and am a manager at my place of work. I would be mortified if one of my girls spoke to a guest like I was spoken to..after looking into the definition of Halcyon: denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful; I’m even more appalled.
Ordered bloody Mary’s that took at least 20 minutes to come out. Not one person, including our waitress, came to check on us or tell us why it was taking so long. There were many servers and it was not busy, and the people around us, some who showed up after us, got their food and were even almost done eating but the time we got 2 bloody Mary’s. We went and checked Twice with the hostess and told us they were working on it, 15 minutes later with a half full restaurant. Usually the food is pretty good and service decent here. Perhaps not the best place to stop for a quick mimosa or Bloody Mary though! Won’t go to again for a Bloody Mary.
I like hot and iced latte👍🏻
Awesome atmosphere and great drinks
Love the coffee here. Great food. Quick service and nice staff. Convenient location. Parking lot located across the side street. Patio dining. Clean restrooms. Bar/restaurant/coffee.
Visiting Halcyon for the first time was okay. It’s very trendy and cozy in there. The staff is really nice and attentive. When I first got there it was full but there were plenty of seats available. I had made a reservation for two. As I waited for my table, I noticed that the waitress asked a single person (customer) sitting on a two person table if he could move. I’m not sure exactly what both the waitress and customer said but the customer did move to the couch. The waitress then came over to me and told me that my table was ready. For some reason this situation was just stuck in my mind. Anyways a while later someone came to meet up with the customer that had moved to the couch. It was a little disturbing that the waitress had asked that customer to move when he was waiting for someone, just like I was waiting for my friend. Fast forward to the food, it took 30 min for my food to come to my table. A little too long for my preference.. I ordered The Old Texas Benedict which included a buttermilk biscuit, chopped brisket, black beans, poached egg, avocado, hollandaise & salsa. It came with a side of crispy potatoes. Couldn’t leaved without a pancake and an iced latte. The eggs Benedict were not my favorite. I was expecting a wow factor but I never got it. The buttermilk biscuit was very crumbly. Not good. My favorite part about this meal was the crispy potatoes, pancake and iced latte. I would love to go back and try something else. This place looks like an awesome place but the food I had wasn’t that awesome.
I cant say enough good things about this place. We love the one in Austin, and this one is even better. The food and drink menus are awesome. The price is very reasonable considering how much food is on each plate. The decor is gorgeous both inside and outside. The drinks are delicious. And of course the tabletop smores are always great. So far weve been there for evening drinks and smores, lunch, and now brunch.
Matcha latte with crushed strawberries was delicious
Toilet was clean and excellent. Cortado was excellent also.
The buddy bowl is delicious. Great service. Great coffee.
Great service and Great Food. Chill vibes
Favorite breakfast spot! The avocado toast with smoked salmon is THE BEST! The coffee is great too! Love this place!
Busy, but friendly. The coffee is delicious but the food is filling and delicious. The breakfast burrito can hold you through a long day.
Great staff, awesome environment, great menu... however the music is always too loud. I can hear it competing for my attention even after wearing my airpods on nearly full volume. If you go to coffee shops to focus and get work done then I wouldnt recommend, but if you are going to socialize then yes great spot.
Hummus was great. Our drinks were very mediocre . Someone at the table next to us ordered the same drink, got it all dolled up with fruit. Ours came out in a regular skinny glass.
If your coming for the vegan food, dont waste your time. It was cold and unseasoned. I came because other vegan food bloggers recommended it, but they either lied or received better food that day. Overall, it was a disappointment.
Quaint little beverage shop. Many seating options for singles, duos, or larger groups. There are many available board games to play. There is even a section for children to play with all sorts of toys. You will not leave this place thirsty as there is something to drink for every occasion. Large variety of classic coffees and teas to cocktails.
If you want a comfy, friendly place to enjoy study, computer, coffee, cocktails, small plates and/or full meals, Halcyon is it! Give the Long Island Coffee a try. You WILL be back for it (limit 2!).No restaurant in Dallas surpasses the eggs Benedict offerings at Halcyon. You get any way, whichever Eggs Bent at Halcyon. Even if you are not necessarily a foodie, you will be tempted to snap pics of plates here!Speaking of photo-worthy, try the Avocado Smooshed Toast. Biggest, prettiest portion in Dallas, Texas!Check out the parties, photos attached, and come get yo caffeine on!
Absolutely loved it!! The bartender Treasure was amazing, great recommendations and her bloody mary was great! The hummus was super yummy and the Halcyon Mac was the best mac n cheese Ive had in a while. Mimosa flight was tasty and I will definitely be coming back.
Great coffee & vibe
Great service, great coffee, great atmosphere.
A go to when I am in town amd want a place to work for hours.A solid and attentive staff. With plugs for your laptop all around the room (few seats without), plenty of places to lounge for ad hoc and professional meetings, and delicious food for all meals of the day including excellent drink options there is little reason for me to look elsewhere.
