Super cute environment- seating indoor and outdoor right in the middle of Deep Ellum. The staff were super helpful for me to find the perfect coffee that I was looking for! Super good! A little pricey- I believe my large coffee was about $6 but that’s to be expected at a signature coffee shop in Dallas!

Very cute interior design! Super high ceilings, with a rustic meets industry aesthetic. I got their iced lavender latte which had a great subtle flavor — not too sweet, but still coffee and very refreshing! The service is super fast and the staff is super friendly :D Bathroom requires a code.

They have the best matcha latte in town!Plus, 5% discount when you bring your own cup. I love you Merit, thank for doing good for our environment❤️❤️

The atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Its a very nice place to sit and chat with friends while sipping a drink or plugging in some headphones to get work done. This coffee shop is clean and modern. The barista gave a healthy heap of cinnamon for my iced chai latte. Would love to come back!

My boyfriend and I went to this coffee shop early in the morning and it was beautiful to see the sunlight streaming through all the windows. Also the music playing was a huge vibe. 10/10

We live in GA and actually order coffee beans shipped to us monthly. We havent found a coffee we enjoy as much! Highly recommend and hope to someday visit the shop in person again.

I had a wonderful Ethiopian pour over and a bacon cheddar scone. The coffee was very high quality. The flavor slapped me in the face at first. There’s not too much seating but if you get a seat it’s a great place to work.

Merit Coffee in Deep Ellum is a great place to grab a coffee, and walk up and down the streets of the neighborhood. Or, you can stay in, and people watch those passing by. They have both in and outdoor seating and offer many staple coffee options.

I had Iced coffee latte and Cortado with whole milk. Coffee was okay. Seems little light coffee flavor for me. Nice place to go and chill! Customer service was great. Maybe next time I should try different coffee.

The coffee and lattes were delicious. Their in house chocolate was very good. The manager, Axle, was super friendly and welcoming. Tacos are brought in from taco deli and tasted fresh. Great spot to chill for a drink but there were quite a few laptop warriors there so spacing was limited. Opening day was 3/26/19.

Magnificent coffee! The coffee is delicious because the staff are passionate about their craft. My friend is a coffee connoisseur from Australia. He was extremely happy with the espresso machines and set up of this joint. I have to say that I was happy with the latte and learned something new about coffee.I love supporting local coffee shop or cafes. Starbucks isn’t the ONLY coffee shop in the world. Search for your local/home coffee shop people.I’ll come back to this cafe whenever I’m in the neighborhood.

This place is awesome. The coffee could be a little more affordable but Dallas desperately needs places like Merit so I’m okay paying a little more. The homemade pop tart was the best! The owner also came out and met me and my corgi. I really appreciated him saying hello.

Decided to stop by while checking the area out. Coffee was good, I had the Chocolate Latte. They apparently hand craft their sauce. Not the biggest fan of chocolate in my latte but it was good, I’ll probably try something else next time.Nice and clean on the inside and I live the set up. I recommend trying.Update: I had a regular iced latte and it was sooo good! Clearly I enjoyed it, I forgot to take a before pic haha

I came here to watch the Dallas Marathon roll through. Its a really great location to watch from, about a mile walk from the start/end.The coffee is delicious and the cafe would be a great place to study or read a book.Also the staff here is really friendly and personable! They helped me make a selection and were really nice when a family came through and one of the children dropped her drink immediately after it was given to them. Great service!

Merit Coffee has everything completely on point. From their matcha, tea, and coffee to their decor and ambience, this place really serves it all together with a cool atmosphere and friendly, chill baristas. The people-watching is great here, a funny mix of neighborhood residents, people passing through, and the type of Dallasite that just wants to be seen. I had great experiences here each time I went, feeling welcomed back to my old stomping grounds when visiting from overseas, despite that the shop actually opened after I moved away. Worth noting: the macarons I ordered ended up being super stale, but stuff happens. No points docked, great place to be. My only regret was that I couldnt quite afford the amazing Miir pourover they had for sale!

Moved to Dallas from NYC and the thing we missed most was the coffee. The coffee in Dallas is generally more burnt, much sweeter, and less consistent baseline. We find Merit and it reminded us of the city. Really good coffees, beans are great, and the baristas and staff safe very friendly.

Really trendy decor with a laid back vibe. The staff were super friendly and the cafe was clean. I got a cold brew which was delicious and fruity on the aftertaste and my friend got an espresso which was really good, too. Wi-Fi available also.

Kills it with everything, except the weird watered down cold brew they advertise as coffee with a tea profile. Hard pass on that but the bottle was cool...Go get some hot or cold Joe and a bag of beans for home it will be great no matter which way you get it fancied up.

Ive been to a lot of coffee shops around town, but luke warm latte after waiting 15 min? Also, please observe your customers. Its no good to ignore them when their kids are anxious and 3 of 4 people are just watching a trainee try 4 times to make a proper espresso shot. Go to the next station and just make the drink. Staff might need some training. Thanks!

Just stopped in for a quick double-espresso pick me up after day-drinking in a hot n sunny Friday afternoon.Luved the decor and vibe here as it is very Deep Ellum.Prices are on point for the area w/surprisingly decent espresso shot pricing.The staff was super nice and they looked like they had an interesting array of baked goods (including what looked like a house-made poptart).My only disappointment was w/the one thing I came in for...my espresso was way too acidic and tasted burnt. Hoping this was a one off as they looked like a place that should have mind-blowing espresso, but this was just not good.Will give them another “shot” (see what I did there?) next time I’m in the area and mayhaps try a poptart.

This place is great. Modern decor and layout. Comfortable seating. The drinks are freshly made and you can see the magic happen right before your eyes. Had the hot americano this time. Will have to try a cold beverage next time I’m in town for a Cowboy game.

Chai lattes are very good. Unfortunately the coffee leaves much to be desired for someone who has experienced high quality coffee shops. The brewed coffee as well as the cold brew is too dilute — lacks flavor. Not sure what ratio they use for water to coffee but from the taste of it I’d guess they’re using closer to 20:1 rather than 16-18:1. A small improvement in brew method could really improve the quality of their product.Ambiance is nice, unfortunately the coffee is fair at best based on their current brew methods.

Warm and welcoming staff! Very modern and white walled interior design with an interesting ceiling design. MUST TRY THE ICED MEXICAN VANILLA LATTE (Extra Sweet) The notes in this coffee distinguishes it from anything else I have ever tasted!

This place is fantastic. The interior decor is modern, and bright, perfect to uplift spirits while you energize for a day of sightseeing in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood. My wife got the vanilla bean latté and I had the mocha latté. We share a “pop tart” like pastry from a local bakery that they heat to order. Everything was amazing, to include the very patient and gracious staff. Love this place and definitely worth a visit anytime you’re in town. Grabbed a pin, a diner mug and and a travel mug as well.

Was walking in trying to put my mask on - it was caught on my ear ring so I was working on fixing it and got YELLED at 3 times to PUT MY MASK ON!!! In an extremely rude way- and not to take in the fact that I was literally putting it on -getting off my ear ring. After going to the bathroom while a friend was getting coffee and in the way out was told “please do not come back here” rudest customer service I have EVER experienced! Will never return and tell everyone not to go there! You can’t even be treated like a human!

Really great coffee. I got an Ethiopian that came served Ina small cup with a kalita carafe on the side.The coffee itself was super bright in flavor without any over extraction or bad acidity present.The ambience is the typical Deep Ellum new-agy, but it works for the place. The staff is super nice.

I am very disappointed with the customer service. I would not recommend this location. Have given this location multiple opportunities, yet they continue to descend into failure. First trip was fine, had solid service and good pastries. However, the second trip was poor; we tried placing an order online, but they were sold out of everything the website state, so we called to double-check as it was minutes after they opened. We received a large sigh and sass, but they took our order over phone – person begrudgingly took our order. This past trip (today) was the worst; we placed our order online (as told to in our past 2 trips into the location) and not only did we have to wait an additionally 20-minutes past the pick-up time, but they had given away pastries that we purchased online to people coming into the store well after they received our online order (I’m talking about when we arrived at 8:30am they were handing out pastries, yet waited until they handed us our coffee at 8:50am that there was no more pastries – even though we purchased them). So, the staff in unable to keep track of their online orders - they fail to provide their customers with items they purchased and were rude about the whole situation.I would understand if it was busy, but it was steady. They had a few customers inside and I only imagine orders online, but your foot traffic has decreased dramatically. Yes, I know you are new to online ordering; however, thousands of others have figured that system out. The management did not care what we had to say and rushed to get us off the phone. If your online order system does not work properly, please let your guest know when they arrive OR remove the feature entirely. Additionally, I believe the “pick-up time” should be removed, because our coffees weren’t started until after we arrived. Folks who walked in after us, received their coffee and pastries. I can work with online order not working and me being forced to come into the store; however, I am disappointed because the customer service failed to do their job (keep track of pastries and failed to provide timely support) and staff/management was rude to us.

I wasnt a fan of the drink I got but the cashier was really friendly. Aside from that Id like to mention something the managers can take into consideration. If you are going to interview people on two separate occasions and tell them you will get back to them, maybe actually follow up whether its a yes or a no. people are losing jobs and having a hard time finding one during covid. I missed out on opportunities I could have had a chance at because I waited for an answer when you said youd give me one.(which sounded like a very promising yes). For peoples and covids sake, I suggest getting back to people with a yes or no in a timely manner instead of wasting an individuals time. Its unprofessional and will help people have a chance to find work during these times.

Cool place to hang out, great ambiance. Tried the house coffee and it tasted just like a regular house coffee. Don’t recommend the tacos though. Mine was very gooey with too much cheese and basically no eggs or potatoes.

Smooth coffee (had a latte that was really creamy) and a pleasant, efficient staff. There seems to be outdoor tables but no chairs right now.

The service is good and they have great coffee, tea, and espresso drinks. I like that they have plenty of comfortable seating and and plugs to recharge.The coffee is good quality and the staff is friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to remember their frequent customers and take great care of them.Its worth noting that they also take great care to maintain the quality of their product. They electronically measure the extraction percentage on a daily basis to ensure a high quality brew, and adjust the grind as necessary to provide a customer pleasing flavor and eliminate bitterness.

Dallas has done a great job turning Deep Ellum from a boring bar district into a multivariate bar, specialty shop, residential, and dining location. Merit is a great symptom of that change.

Hands-down!! Terrific espresso! Incredible flavor and texture, probably in my top 3. I am originally from Paris, France and I have been in New York City for 13 years so when I moved to Dallas I was hoping to find a good place for coffee. That place deliver and goes beyond my expectations !! 5 STARS

I live walking distance to this coffee shop and couldnt be happier! It is high quality with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always very friendly. This is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Most importantly, the coffee has been spot on each and every time Ive gone there.

I love it here! I always get the same thing and they are always very consistent. The baristas are all very sweet too and always make conversation. It’s a little pricey but worth it if you’re looking for a quality coffee.
