It was the worst place in my opinion, the person checked my clothes did not even see, they just unfolded and folded them again, the clothes were in good condition and some of them were also branded, look at another person that their clothes were worse and they took almost all of their clothes .. wow! they just see the way you dress and thats it. I spent a lot of gas to get there and by appointment, of course! just to be told, cant we find anything we can have?Of course I do not recommend it in any ways. Super rude when buying. I tried selling 3 name brand shoes in unused condition (bottom of the shoes not walked on and shoe sole not dirty) to what looked like the manager and 2 other employees but I guess because I was dressed too casual on my off day, they looked at me and my scraps and said they couldn’t help me cause of the “conditions”. Barely looked at my shoes and refused to even offer me a $1 and walked away on me. Just yesterday I bought some sandals that where extremely used? I thought it was a thrift store where they specialize in used things. Guess they only want donations. Will not be back and do not recommend.

One of my first reviews ever but felt the need to share my experience after some thought. Ive gone to Buffalo Exchange once a few years ago to sell clothes & left with about $45 for clothes not nearly as nice as the ones I wanted to sell a few weeks ago. I brought about 15 items with pieces from Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Free People & various other brands. All in wonderful condition, Ive uploaded photos for reference. I live a little over 30 miles from the store & through small talk mentioned I live quite a distance away to the girl helping, but based on my past experience felt it would be worth the trip. Unlike the customers before me, she begins getting second opinions from another employee to let her decide that ONE dress & pair of earrings (that still have the tag) are worth selling in the store. I go on to ask about the others and the second lady gives this drawn out explanation of how they have to predict what will sell off their racks so they dont lose money by eventually donating them if they dont resell. What a tragedy to donate clothes to people in need, right? Not even decent enough to to cover the gas I wasted, they offer me $12 in store credit or $7 cash and finish with sooo is there anything else we can help you with? So lame. Im sure people have had better experiences, but the situation confirmed I wont return to sell OR buy. Dont make the trip unless youre okay with the chance of only getting a few bucks served with blatant inconsideration for your efforts.

All of these poor reviews are from people being turned down on clothes that they tried to sell, but that’s why buffalo exchange is one of the most consistent consignment stores. The buyers do a good job selecting the garments they purchase. This raises the prices they charge but saves you time sifting through a bunch of junk like you would at a donation thrift store. I can usually find something I like when I walk in.

Needless to say, I have had a couple of interesting experiences both selling items to Buffalo as well as shopping. I came to Buffalo Exchange with a bag of contemporary and popular brands like Vanessa Virginia, Maeve, and Tiny from Anthropologie; Free People, and some new Forever 21 pieces with tags. Averaging estimated MSRP prices roughly $300. The female associate who was working was not friendly, had a stand-offish demeanor, and also seemed to have condescendingly looked at my clothing with sheer judgement. I get it, Buffalo Exchange is located near Greenville and close to SMU, so they have to specify clothing items to attract the demographics for customers in order to create revenue;they need garments that would sell. Albeit, the associate took one Free People dress and a top from Forever 21 out of my bag of clothing, only to be granted $40 in cash and $60- and-something in store credit. $40 was a low ball offer, but I took it as I left it since I needed the extra cash.Lo and behold, I went back the following week to shop - only to find my Free People dress on the racks being sold for 40% more than the offering price. I chuckled softly as I rummaged the racks of clothing, spotting simple Forever 21 pieces being sold for more than the suggested retail prices. If you want a unique piece that you are not able to find in the store and have little patience to scavenge for one, then I guess this place can be your pot of gold? But this store is pathetically reselling prices that are higher ( and keep in mind gently used) than the prices you would purchase brand new at H&M or Forever 21. There are some unique vintage pieces, Ill give them that, but some of their items are suspiciously priced gouged that it denotes their credibility as a vintage and thift shop. Places like these are for SMU trust fund babies that would buy anything that is vintage because the shop promises vintage and are too seemingly privileged to shop at Goodwill or Thrift Giant (I found a lot of Free People dresses from Thrift Giant for less than $5).I would say it is better to buy your clothes when it is on sale than go here. Dillards Clearance Center, Nordstrom Rack, and Poshmark would be the better option to find a bargain. I only give it another star because there is a really good coffee shop next door to them.

Visited based on high recommendations from friends, have to say I’m extremely disappointed. Parking is non-existent thanks to an extremely unpopular restaurant hogging all of the surrounding spots (which are all empty btw) as well as ‘tow-away zones’ in all adjoining parking lots. Staff inside the store were EXTREMELY rude and only seemed to want to pay attention to their friends shopping in the store and could care less about regular customers. Essentially they all hate their jobs. Checkout staff was no better and it’s extremely confusing which desk to check out at and which desk to sell at. One desk for everything would be much more efficient and eliminate significant headache. Lastly, they’re charging absolutely outrageous prices for no-name clothes with the original retail tags still on. Certain brands seem to dominate clothing racks reminiscent of a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s - not the top-notch experience they’re advertising. Honestly go to the Uptown Cheapskate down the street and skip this store altogether - you’ll thank me later.

Let me start off by saying that I have been a loyal customer for years. However I have noticed a concerning pattern in their poor business practices as well as watching really excellent staff come and go so quickly. I came to sell a while back (around September)and since then I have thought about my experience there and done some research into the company. I was excited to see that they had several protocols in place in order to sell. I made my appointment and brought in my quarantined 50 items and was excited about the idea of getting my payment through paypal. However I noticed that there was another seller that had come in without an appointment and clearly had not followed the quarantine process. I witnessed discomfort on the employees face regarding the lack of quarantine and then I watched the buyer talk to their manager (The manager was short with natural hair and boots, I asked for her name...I believe it started with a J). The manager then made that buyer go through the clothing, they did not have gloves and they did not inform him about the need for appointments. I felt really uncomfortable because I trusted that they were taking the pandemic seriously, I did what I should have and their own management showed clear disregard for their employees as well as their customers because those clothes were not quarantined!! I was so shocked, I then did some research on the company and it turns out that the company has been outed for promoting r*cism through their loss prevention tactics as well as having recently had a key business partner be outed for 20+ years of s*xual misconduct. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. YOU ARE SUPPORTING SUPPR*SSION, R*CISM AND S*XUAL MISCONDUCT. These people are dis*usting and I hope that they take a good look at themselves. I have witnessed many talented employees at the Dallas location disappear over time. When Ive asked about those people no longer being there I always get round about answers. Its like theyre trying to cover everything up to save face. Dont support this company, I know I will never again.

I visited the store last week so this review is COVID based. Firstly, the customer service others have raves about is still fantastic. I had called ahead to confirm and COVID guidelines. They were patient and happy to inform me that in-store shopping is allowed, but you must have a mask, and try to respect the 6ft rule with the other customers. Secondly, the selection here is always my favorite if you’re trying to find some unique pieces (you have to search, but that’s half the fun!). Any accessories you want to try on such as necklaces and sunglasses they request you put in a basket at the counter to be sanitized, which I thought was a great touch! My only, minor, complaint is that they did not make it clear that due to COVID their dressing rooms are closed. They have extended their exchange policy from 5 to 10 days because of this. However, personally, I am one who goes through a process when choosing my final pieces in the dressing room (how it fits, stains, holes, pricing, etc..) and I don’t want to have to come back to exchange for new pieces over and over until I get it right. So if you go through a similar process: heads up! For those who aren’t that picky: this store is still a great place to checkout and get some retail therapy during this time!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. You probably wont find that dirt-cheap bargain that you tend to find at most thrift stores. I arrived to the location about 40 mins after I started the drive. Put my items on the counter and began the process. Now, side note my items are new. Like in this past year to 6 months new. They were items I had ordered and then ran out of time to return. The one dress was an 80.00 item black with stars and moons! Super cute for the right person. Anyways the process took about 10 mins. And I was offended nothing, not a dollar! The upset is I had asked several questions before making the drive. Once a great place to take your vintage and lightly used cool thread to pass along and get a little cash. Now after dragging giant box of pretty cool stuff half a block to get in, some little teenagers pick one item and give you $10.Knowing you will just donate the rest instead of dragging it back to your car.Who know s what they do with the donated stuff.Take your stuff to charity and shop for cool vintage clothing in other better locations.

If you dont mind digging through stuff on occasion, you can usually find great deals. Exact pair of Diesel Jeans which I purchased in 2002 for $200 at Urban Outfitters, still in excellent condition marked at $50. A great pair of Mek Jeans were priced at $35. Can usually find a few t-shirts for under $10 a piece. Its usually hit or miss though.

My name is Tyler Porter, id like to say it is a wonderful store, the employees were very friendly and helpful.... tremendous job, keep up the good work.P.s.....The manager, redbone complexion...she is very nice. I really felt a vibe as we spoke. Hopefully she texts me when she gets off because, i cant let her slip away...The good ones go, if you wait too long.... honestly I just really feel like we met for a reason...thank you and God bless you and your business...1LUVMichael X.

Definitely for teeny bopper type dressing folks. Nothing high end at all. Tons of Forever 21 clothes. Seemed like more was new than consignment. Not for me.

Love shopping here for statement pieces. My favorite shoes I have ever had came from here... have always had good interactions with staff.

All of the employees were very easy going and friendly, the selection of clothing is ok, I was able to find high end and vintage pieces I did purchase but the overall selection wasn’t the greatest - buyers could use a refresher on current trends.

Be careful when you return something. I was charged again instead of credited. So I paid double for items I dont even have any longer. $70 for a clothes I returned.

As far as being a customer goes, I only shop here if I have a nice handful of trendy stuff to trade in because of the higher pricing. Which is fine, I think trading the funnest part of this store and the selection is always really nice quality.

This is a unique place...Unique enough in itself to offer $45 for a genuine leather jacket in mint condition amongest other brand clothing and not to mention demonia boots. Dont waste your time trying to sell your clothes here like i did.

I’ve been to several Buffalo Exchange’s in different states, and this by far has got to be the worst store I’ve ever been to. Lack of style, clothing, and very small selection of shoes . Everything in the store was super out dated, and out of fashion by years. On the other hand the employees had great style, but non of the clothes on the racks were close to having good taste. Very disappointed, will not be returning, and will continue to stick to the Buffalo Exchanges in California.
