Dont let them install long L shaped counters without a seam. I have two cracks in my quartz countertop. Kat nor Costentino, or Home Depot will fix the problem. When you spend $5K on counter tops you expect them to not have cracks. No one every tells you they could get a crack in them. If Kat had simply done a seam instead of one long piece I wouldnt have cracks. So disappointed and frustrated.
Very poor workmanship on granite countertops. Installed improperly and would not rectify the situation. Stay away.
Great place to get great work from.
The installers from Kat Fabircators were very rude to begin with. As soon as they left, I noticed a long crack on the back splash. I have a newly remodeled bathroom with a cracked granite. I have tried calling these people at least 5 times and havent heard back. I have left VM for Mike at least a couple of times and he hasnt had the courtesy to call and fix the problem. All I need is for them to replace the piece of the granite which is cracked and fix the sheet rock and painting around it (if it gets damaged when they remove the granite). Really frustrating. Stay away from them.
We had a great experience with KAT and our new countertops! Everyone was very nice and they look beautiful.
From my first contact with Steve Schmidt until his installers walked out the door, I had nothing but positive interactions with KAT Fabricators. Every step of the way, (we replaced all counter tops in our kitchen and both bathrooms), Steve was available for input and questions about materials, installation, design, etc. Even our visit(s) to the yard to pick granite were informative and fun. His crew was friendlyo, efficient and knowledgeable, and did great work. All our counters look great, so I probably wont have the pleasure of working with them again - but I would if I could.
STAY AWAY!!!!!THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!!GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR COUNTER TOPS!!!!!I WISH I HAD READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEFORE GETTING INVOLVED WITH THIS GROUP!!!!!
Just had new countertops installed, purchased at Home Depot. From measurement to installation everyone did an excellent job. Ronal and Joe were very professional during installation, and even told ushow to care for the new countertops.
Would highly recommend KAT Fabricators. Clint in the office was extremely helpful, and the two gentlemen that handled the installation were prompt, courteous and did beautiful work. Exceeded our expectations and were very happy customers.
We had countertops installed on Monday, March 30, 2020. The two men were so experienced and professional. They went the extra mile to make sure our countertops were perfect and just the way we wanted them. They were even concerned and made sure the 6’ social distancing was followed during the installation. We couldn’t be happier!
Kat Fabricators did an amazing job on my counter tops in my kitchen. The measure to install was a quick process and I am beyond happy with my finished product! I will be using them again. Thank you Kat!
The countertops are beautiful. Your work crew was great. The job was on time and done professionally. Thanks so much.
I have the most beautiful quartz countertops because of you at Kat. The job was measured with accuracy and any little issue that was found the experienced professionals sent had the answers and it turned out beautiful. Thank you!
Jill was super helpful. She described products, durability and care. Cant wait to see the granite we selected installed in our new outdoor kitchen
Jill the sales rep obviously doesn’t have a clue. She has blown two appointments to sell a job in the colony. Apparently it’s just to far north for her or she’s just the idiot she comes off as.I called kat because I had used them before a lot and never had a problem as a sub through a different company. I’m pretty much done and thanks for nothing.
I recently purchased a new bathroom vanity from one of the big box stores and they subcontracted the manufacturing and installation to Kat.The first installation team really botched the install - very poorly done, lots of visible mistakes.I got in touch with Kat and they sent Javier out to inspect. He was fantastic! Fixed the problems I found - and some more. The whole thing cost me an extra day off work, but now it looks great. If you do business with them, maybe just ask for Javier in the first place - I will if I use them again!
It is taking longer than expected, or were told by Home Depot, due to a delay in KAT receiving stock sinks that were not back ordered. We are tentatively on for a delivery exactly four weeks after we ordered the counter tops. For us, four weeks without a kitchen is a hardship.
They have you sign something stating they can place seams wherever they want. I totally get that in joining larger pieces together but feel like they were trying to maximize their slab and save $ by chopping mine into two.I was told during the measurement appointment that a small L shaped piece would come solid. Their measured plan doesn’t have a seam and Kat told me they aren’t supposed to tell you about seam placement while doing measurements. The installers brought two small separate pieces. No courtesy call was given stating that I was getting Tetris counters on the small L and no option to pay extra for the expected solid L was given beforehand. Heartbroken because I had saved for these and was excited.Having a heads up would have softened the blow. The contracted installers are super nice but I would not recommend Kat to anyone unless you’re ok with Tetris tops.
Shoddy work!!!! Tells you what you want to hear then they install as cheaply as possible! Promised no seam.... Guess what? Got seam!!!!
Everything went as expected. First time buyers of granite countertops, we were not sure how it would go. Once we got through the paper work with Home Depot we picked out our slab and was given a firm delivery date for two weeks later. On that date they came and in six hours they were done. Just as promised.FYI you really need to go look t the slabs as the samples give you no real understanding of the pattern. We ended up with something completely different than our sample.
RUN AWAY!I had deadlines you all had excuses. Was quoted a 10 day turn on a simple piece of Corian.Hand delivered the drawings on February 28th. Supposed to get the product on March 15th.First, guy was out sick.Secondly, machine was broke. Was told it could be ready on Monday the 19th. I said no big deal, I will be down to get it on my next day off, Thursday the 22nd. This was the drop dead date. I had to have it then. Was told no problem. Thursday morning I get a call and it is not ready. Why not? We don’t have the material yet. Guy sick and machine broke irrelevant. Where is it? Don’t know. Can’t track it? No. Somewhere in between Atlanta and Dallas. Weather has been a problem. You got to be kidding me. Totally hung out to dry. Can’t make a decision because variables can’t be defined.Material arrives on March 27th. You all are going to do me a favor and push other jobs back to work on mine. I feel so lucky.Just pathetic. I’d be ashamed.
Kat Fabricators does a fantastic job! AWESOME WORK!
The people have very terrible customer service. I got new countertops installed in my house and I paid for brackets on my island and they failed to install them for the over hang. The people I called and talked to about it on the phone are very rude and did not treat me the way people that are in customer service should treat a customer. Would not recommend.
We had KF do a bathroom sink countertop last July 2015 and they did a great job. The countertop was over 9 feet long with double sinks and there were no issues. They came out and measured first, we selected the slab and then they cut it and delivered in another week. From start to finish, about 3 weeks, and that was fine with us. The only issue I had and it wasnt really their fault, we that I had to make 2 trips to their yard to pick out the granite. There were only 2 slabs to pick from the first time and neither of them was quite right. I went a week later and they had 5 more to choose from and I easily found the right one then. They were out a week later to install.
Anyone who deals with Home Depot or anybody else will for the most part have no one to blame but themselves. I was a kitchen remodeler for 25 yrs and after using them I would not deal with anyone else. I guarantee that if you deal directly with Steve you will have no problems, and if there is a problem he will take care of it. They do install for Home Depot to HD specifications which are not as high as KATS. So please educate yourself if you are a first time byer, you can save money and a headache in the process.
Buyer Beware- as Home Depots sole countertop installation contractor, we have been completely let down by Kat and Home Depot. They have failed to deliver our countertop, a simple small project, for no viable reason. They refuse to remake a countertop after 1) breaking the first one, then 2) delivering a chipped one with the sink in the wrong place (by two young punks with serious attitude). They came out to retemplate then just outright refused for no reason .Its a basic job. Very poor, unprofessional service all around, costing us time, money and lost rental income as the kitchen is unusable without a countertop.
Do not hire this company! They will make fraudulent charges on your credit card and do nothing about it! The CFO should be in jail! They did an unauthorized charge of $4670.90 to our company card and refused to credit it back! What a joke. Id keep looking if I were you. Here is the charge made on the company card and we are still trying to get this resolved with credit card company. This is FRAUD!!!! and Tina Adds refused to deal with it. I posted a picture of the unauthorized credit card charge! How funny you pretend you have no record of this! What a joke!! And I wanted to let people know what they are getting themselves into if they use you. Heads up people i wouldnt!!!!
I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! They lied to me, ignored my calls, and didn’t credit me for granite I never received. First of all, I purchased my granite countertops through Home Depot back in October of 2014. When Kat Fabricators came to install my countertops they broke a piece of the granite and my kitchen was without countertops or a sink for over a week. They made no attempts to make it right. I had to call to see when they were coming back with the new piece of granite. Then when they got there, they said there was a problem with the backsplash. It was not level. They could cut it, but it would not look right. My choice was to install it, or they would credit me what granite they did not use. I chose not installing it and getting the credit. I went along for a while before calling Home Depot to see why I hadn’t received the credit. After calling them several times, they finally called me back, and told me I had to take it up with Kat Fabricators. Really?? So I called Kat again and again finally talking to the install manager who told me I would need to talk to the sales manager. I left messages for the sales manager who finally called me back weeks later. He told me they would not refund my money for the backsplash because it had already been cut. Well, they knew that before offering me the credit. The sales manager said he would call me back that day. He didn’t. I called over and over with the secretary telling me someone would return my call, and they NEVER did. As of last week, I was still trying to get this nightmare resolved. Home Depot called, and said they would refund me less than one third of what I was owed. I was forced to take hundreds of dollars less than what I was owed or get nothing. I am truly disappointed in Kat Fabricators and Home Depot. I will not use either of them again. I will say that the guy who came to measure my countertops and the installers were very nice. The rest, including Home Depot, were rude and very unprofessional.
Brian with KAT fabricators is very unprofessional and I have to cancel my countertops order as a result.
BEWARE... 2/3 installations were incorrect! The last one they didnt want to correct it! These guys work with Home Depot and are unethical! Dont sign anything at the spot, keep the papers for a week or so!
