High quality leather and stitching work! I had ten white, ultra-modern dining room chairs which, after a decade, were showing lots of wear on the pleather they came with. Mickael re-finished them in beautiful, genuine gray leather. I wasnt expecting them to come out looking this good! I initially drove out to the physical location, but it isnt necessary. Mickael will come to you to look at the furniture needing to be refinished, will present you with a binder of different leather finish options, and provide a quote. He picked up the chairs and delivered them when they were finished - very convenient if you dont have a truck. Great experience overall and I love my new chairs!!!

This place restored our 28 year old leather sofa in less than a week, and it looks just like new, feels great to sit in, and we couldnt be more pleased with the job, as well as the reasonable price. If you read the few reviews on here with low ratings, you can tell from them that the reviewers are just mad because the companys rep told them that their sofas were not worth fixing. Sounds like an honest opinion to me, and the low rating is ridiculous, vengeful. Check the pictures below- this is our 28 year-old leather sofa that was ripped & torn in many places, the cushions were sunken over 5 inches, all the cording on it was torn up, and the stuffing had leaked out of the rips in many places. One week after they picked up the sofa they called & said it was completed and....the sofa you see in the picture is what we got back. This company is the real deal, and we recommend them very, very highly.

I paid 160.00$ to have a zipper replaced, when I got it, I just gave them the rest of the money. 100.00$ deposit, something wasnt quite right with it, I didnt snap until I got home that the zipper is backwards. Who in the hell uses a left hand zipper, this went from my favorite jacket to a wear when I have to jacket, and I paid 160.00$. they also repaired two small holes near the waist, and instead of a piece patch, it looks more like frankenstein. But the big problem is the zipper. I obviously liked the jacket, now I wear my work coat more often than I do it. Dont have time to get on that side of town these days but I was surely disappointed when I realized what they had done. And they must have knew that already when I picked it up and they should have mentioned it.

I purchased a custom made couch from The Luxury of Leather approximately 15 years ago and the leather and support had naturally worn over time. My husband and I searched high and low for another leather couch to replace our old one, but we couldn’t find one that we liked as much as our old couch. We finally decided that we were willing to invest in having our old leather couch redone and that’s when we found The Leather Hospital.WOW! They have best customer service, the greatest attention to detail, and they are the most honest people around.I received an at-home consultation to discuss all that I wanted to have repaired and they took my couch with them that same day. When my couch was returned I was over the moon! I felt more excited than if I would have purchased a new couch that I knew I wasn’t going to love as much as my old couch. Now I have my new-old couch and it is PERFECT! The detail in the stitching, the quality of the leather, and the reconstruction of the support is top-notch!Do not bother looking anywhere else. First off I dont know why he has ANY bad reviews. This family owned and ran shop should have a perfect 5 star review. Me and my wife traveled to Dallas to bring her Louis Vuitton bag to the L.V store to get a few repairs. As soon as the worker seen i tried to add 2 stitches to the strap, she told me, she knew L.V would not fix the leather on the brim of the bag. So we went back to the hotel, in the galleria and searched for a leather repair shop close to us. I found the leather hospital. Thank God the owner of the leather hospital is a good and honest person. I called him and told him I was from out of town and wanted to see if he could repair my wifes bag. He then told me to drop it off and he would work on it. Little did I know it would only take 1 day for him to fix something that would have taken L.V months to do. I arrived at his shop and rang the doorbell. I heard a dog bark and a sweet lady open the door. She welcomed me and my wife in with open arms, and treated us as family. She then told the old dog to lay down and he did so. She looked at the bag quoted us a price, (that was way cheaper than L.V would have been) I paid it in full and left. The next morning I called to ask what time the bag would be ready, to my surprise his mother stayed till 8pm that previous day to finish our bag, knowing we would be leaving that next day..When we arrived to pick up the bag, he brought it out, and what would u know. The bag looked better than new. They even cleaned the bag for us. We were blown away by the quality of the work. I cant say enough about how greatfull we were, to find this place and how thankful we were they fixed the bag, in record time. So thats why Im giving them 5 stars and if they had an option to give 10 I would. I have read all the comments and I do not agree with anything that was left as a negative comment, and you shouldnt either. The dog is harmless and the people who run and own the shop, are the reason this great country is what it is. I would recommend this shop for anything that is leather... THE BRIM OF THE BAG WAS REPAIRED. The leather and stitching matched perfect as if it was from Louis Vuitton themselves..

Highly, highly recommend. I had two large tears in a leather jacket that were impossible to repair. Herman worked out a perfect solution using some patches and the jacket is now good as new; you would never know a repair had been made. I wish I had taken before/after pictures. Herman is a true craftsman and is highly conscientious. He advised us about restoring and dyeing, versus recovering some chairs. He could have just taken the restoration job but gave us good advice instead. He also touched up a leather coat I’ve had forever and was really concerned about how it would turn out. It came back looking almost new, including some fairly worn edges. The guy knows what he’s doing with leather.

We just had a large project (2 full-size sofas, easy chair, ottoman) completed by Herman last month. We ended up needing 30 full hides for the way we wanted the work done. Herman worked with us closely over 3 meetings to find the leather with the look and color we desired. When the sofas were delivered, they were even better than we had hoped! I had a dark brown Langlitz Leathers motorcycle jacket that I wanted to dye black. I tried to DIY but did a terrible job. Dropped it off here and when I picked it up, it looked like a brand new black leather jacket. No bleeding or dye on the zippers, etc. Meticulous work, highly professional. This man is a genius! We have a very expensive leather chaise that our cat peed on. We thought it was a total loss, and were looking at having to replace it. Had him fix my two piece leather racing suit. He replaced the zipper in both the pants and jacket and added 2 inches of leather at the bottom of the jacket. The suit was better than new when I got it back and every seam and stitch was perfect. I also got the suit back in an incredible time frame. He gave me a price and even though the job turned out to be a lot more difficult the price didnt change. 4 THUMBS UP.

Mr. Zapata called me when he got it, told me that Id need to look at the item with him to tell him exactly what I wanted done. Life happened, I forgot about the jacket for almost a year. Two weeks ago, I called to inquire whether he still even had the jacket. He remembered me, and the situation. The jacket was still there. BEWARE! Horrible experience and after 8 months our leather furniture has still not been repaired, returned or replaced!We contracted with Herman to do a specific job, but, without our permission, he changed our work order and created 2 two-tone sofas! We were shocked! Not only is it not what we ordered, but he was never supposed to change the leather on the cushions or the front of one of the sofas! We LOVED our original leather, but it is now gone and our furniture is ruined.Herman has readily admitted via numerous phone calls, text messages and in person that he breached our contract, but has done nothing to make it right and we have been without furniture in our family room for 8 long months.To date, he has not accepted any of the solutions we have offered. He has been contacted by the BBB on our behalf, but after 30 days, he did not respond. He has also been contacted by our attorney in an attempt to settle this matter quickly and amicably, but as of today he is still holding our deposit as well as our furniture. After exhausting all reasonable measures to settle this matter outside of a courtroom, well now be forced to file a lawsuit.

I was in a minor motorcycle incident, and my leather jacket had a pretty bad tear on the right sleeve. In 10 days Herman was able to restore it to near perfect condition, you can’t even tell there was damage on it in the first place. Mr. Herman does great leather repair work. They had repaired my Dooney and Bourke purse. You cant even tell it was repaired and he charges so inexpensive, so reasonable! it is a shame not to go to this repair shop. The craftsmanship he does on interior for your automobile is beautiful also!

I had 2 purses repaired and the leather on a stool replaced. I am very happy with results. The leather on the stool ended up being substantially thicker and of better quality than what the manufacturer originally used. The shop was quite a jaunt form my home, but it was worth the trip. Great place to have your leather work done. I had a small Dooney & Burke purse that the strap shredded & Herman replaced it better than the original. He did a GREAT job & I would not hesitate to use him again or to refer anybody to him. Fee was fair & even though I told him I didnt need it until the end of April, he got it to me within a week.

Took my favorite knock around jacket to them to have the leather sleeves repaired. I had an old leather armchair that I wanted reupholstered. My husband happen to see The Leather Hospitals truck driving down the street. You cant miss his vehicles, they are covered in cows and painted like cow print. We gave Hernan, the owner, a call. Needed to have a rip in the back of my husbands new leather jacket. Dropped it off on a Monday and it was ready by Friday!! The repair looks great, just a small scar which we knew was gonna happen!! Ill bring all future leather repairs here!!

I found the Leather Hospital after tearing a expensive leather jacket I bought in Istanbul. They did a great job and the repair is barely visible. I took a second leather coat in to have the sleeves shortened. Great job! I then found out they can also clean my white leather jacket. That is a service that is very hard to find. Mr. Zapata figured out a way to do a large, challenging project and completed it more than a week ahead of schedule. Antique Jingle bells/sleigh bells -- about 24 of them in various stages of disrepair bought over time through E-bay. Theyre meant to be heirloom-type gifts to relatives and close friends -- an absolutely wonderful gift that would have been impossible if Mr. Zapata was not willing/able to take on the laborious task of reconditioning the straps that could be salvaged and transferring the majority to NEW straps. I started collecting the old sleighbells without a clear idea of whom I was going to find to restore them; Mr. Zapata positively made my Christmas, and hopefully the Christmas of all of the people that are going to receive them. The new belts and re-attached bells are sturdy and attractive, and should last 100 years, like the original straps did. Thank you Mr. Zapata!

I have a custom-made lambskin jacket that had a sleeve ripped on an exposed nail board...several small tears, about 1-1.5 in length on the left sleeve. After reading the reviews, I decided to try Leather Hospital for the repair. His shop is on the back side of the building at 11181 Harry Hines Blvd, but the signage is good once you approach it from the back. If several dogs in the shop make a LOT of noise when you knock - youre at the right place. Dont pet them.Hernan gave me a couple of options for repair of the jacket, and I chose to have him glue the existing panel rather than replace it, because that custom leather is hard to match exactly. I paid a 50% down payment on the repair which was at a fair price, and the rest when I returned to pick it up. The result? The repair was so good, I initially couldnt even find the place where he had fixed the jacket! I thought I had the wrong sleeve!It appears to be a small one-man business, but with leather Hernan is a perfectionist and has the skills of a neurosurgeon. You wont be disappointed!

Excellent Customer service!!. Mr Hernan Zapata is very knowledgeable. He gave me honest opinion on damage to sectional chairs and provided me with best solution. I was going to replace the Sofa but he suggested that repair would be cost effective and would last long time. He also provided good insights into how the Sofas are made, how to measure leather quality etc. Overall I had very good experience with repair, pickup and delivery. We have a very nice leather sofa that had split on the top of the right arm from lots of use. Two companies said they couldnt repair it. Hernan came out and explained that he would have to take leather from the back of the sofa to replace the torn leather. He actually used leather from the back of the upper cushions, laid it out to match the rest of the arm as much as possible. He replaced the cushion leather with new leather that looks good there. It would not have matched the rest of the sofa as well because of the difference in age and just being from a different skin.He told me it would take to weeks to perform the work. We needed it within a week because we were having a large family celebration. He said he get it done within a week. I agreed but was nervous about getting it back in time. Well, the next evening Hernan calls to deliver the sofa. He was so worried about getting it done on time, he stayed up until 1 am and then worked all the next day to finish the repair.Perfect work, perfect timing. You couldnt do better than hiring the Leather Hospital

Discovered Hernans business because of his truck at the Market Diner. We called and he came by right away to help save our pathetic banquette. Got it out of the house with great effort, as it may have been built in the room. Days later, Hernan asked me to visit his business. He had come up with a great plan to save the banquette by re-springing, re-stuffing and adding removable legs (to more easily fit through the doors, but also to provide more strength).We are thrilled with how great it looks! Beautiful seams, and much better constructed than before. Fast, courteous and creative service and beautiful work. We highly recommend this business!

OMGosh, we are Extremely Satisfied with The Leather Hospital. We have a sectional leather couch that we thought was beyond repair, but not with the Leather Hospital. They picked up and delivered our sectional and brought it back to life to last another 15+ yrs. They took our kitchen chairs that I had stacked in the garage for me to one day re-upholster and they put a gorgeous red leather that beautified our kitchen. They even touched up the wood chairs to bring out the beautiful red and make it look new again. Ive recently called on the Leather Hospital again to redo the chairs in our suburban and he also put in a new vinyl floor to replace the worn out carpet. Now our burb looks new again because the leather that has been worn out for several yrs was cracked and quite uncomfortable to sit in. We had them do all vinyl because we realized that the leather in Texas cannot handle the heat as well as a good vinyl. I brought two old leather jackets to leather hospital (1 had been my fathers and 1 my mothers and they both had recently passed away). Both jackets had great sentimental value, but I would never wear them (they were dated and leather jackets arent my thing). I had seen pictures on the internet of people repurposing / upcycling leather jackets into purses and bags and asked if he could do the same for me. The results were amazing! With two jackets I received a leather travel bag, two purses, and a small clutch. It wasnt cheap, but now I have 4 one of a kind pieces that are also a memory. Thank you.

What a wonderful experience I had with The Leather Hospital. The owner, Hernan Zapata, is all about the customer service and his work is remarkable. He recovered a leather ottoman, loveseat, and chair for me that had small tears and scratches. He came to my house within a few hours of my call and told me he would need the furniture for a week but got it back to me in 3 days. His pricing is very reasonable. He is a true craftsman and I would highly recommend.
