Absolutely Love the store! High end clothing for men and women. Sports equipment out of this world and the employees Love helping you when I need something. Only place I go to shop for shoes or work boots. Place is great!!!

Academy sports is just all around AWESOME!!! They have whatever you need for your outdoor plans or sports from A to Z! And then some!!! Go visit them you wont be disappointed. The have sports equipment, apperal, game equipment, grilling equipment, Im telling you, you will find something at academy sports if you go!!! I promise!!! Thanks and GOD BLESS ALL!!!

Was looking for a particular fishing lure and found not only that but some lures and baits that have been sold out all over the place that I felt was like a hidden treasure that I use being part of those good ol Bass Bandits

Academy is pretty good deals but a little too overpriced but they do got a lot of variety of Nike Adidas and fishing gear..

Store has all that you need for sports and outdoor activities. Prices decent. Check out lines may have to wait awhile to get out of there.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. This isnt my normal Academy Sports so it was nice to have the ability to go in to a new location to see what all they have to offer here. Im very pleased to say that they had completely different merchandise is in my home store so it was nice to be able to pick out some new things that Im not used to seeing all in all I love academy sports and all the name brand items they have and their generic brands also they always treat me very good like I belong there and they never hassle me or giving me a hard time for bringing it out of back to exchange with the receipt I have a wide variety of fishing, camping, hiking, sports, a great shoe department, they sell guns, they have a nice knife collection, Target practice, airsoft rifles and BB guns, we also sell men and womens clothing, with brands like Nike and under armor Columbia just to name a few. So and all I would say my experience every time I go into Academy Sports is a very good one thanks to the staff and the owners.

Worst managed Academy in the Southeastern United States. Five men waiting to buy firearms, one little kid behind the counter. Decided to go the Chattanooga to buy and saw three disgruntled buyers from Academy. What a waste. Surely, academy can do better than a manager that has no clue where demand is located and staffs appropriately.

If youre a hunter or fisherman this is definitely the place to go!

I would give them 5 stars but we purchased items online and took them back here when they tried to scan the barcode it wouldnt read it saying it wasnt an actual barcode number. This isnt a fault towards an individual but academy itself. Other than that it was and always has been a great store.

Very clean place, friendly helpful service. They have just about anything you could possibly need for sports and outdoors. The only downside i seen was their prices are a little on the expensive side.

Prices for most things were better than I expected and comprable to Walmart for most things. It was very open and spacious and well laid out. A joy to shop there.

The employees here are always very nice, and we find good stuff here😊The changing rooms need their floors cleaned though. Way too much dust piled up.

I love the brand BCG at Academy! Of course everyone knows the more common brands (Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, etc...) but BCG has really cute and long lasting apparel too and its at a good price! 😁

Just picked my new tent for the year there. Wonder what else I need for my adventures this year? Hope Ill be able to find it there when I need it.

I drove over an hour to the location in Dalton, Ga only to be met by the most unhelpful, unfriendly staff!Me: do you carry footpeg tracks for kayaks?Employee: Im not sure...Me: 👀Employee: 😐Me: Can we find out??Would not even consider helping me load a kayak or borrow a ladder. Another customer ended up helping 🙄

My boyfriend and I came in to Academy looking for accessories for our recreational equipment. Jordan could not have been more helpful. She stayed with us through our entire experience and was very knowledgeable about the products. She made the shopping experience feel very personal and genuine. Typically, we get disappointed at Academy, but this was a stand out experience. Again, thank you Jordan.

Went into store to buy a Pit Boss 1230 grill. Eventually found an employee in clothes section. Asked if we could someone to grill section. She announced it. Herd it. Stood waiting for 10 mins looking at other grills. Saw another employee. He said he would announce it. We stated our wait time. He then said he would get the manager. After another wait.She finally showed. Was gone for a bit. Then told me they don’t have any. Site said they did. That’s why I drove 37 miles. She then said “Did you but my it on line”? No I said. She then told me it would have told you they didn’t have any. Hugh? How about not saying available for pick up at the Dalton store. Nice job. First time in an Academy store. Not a great 1st impression by any means.

My wife and I have mountain bikes, but we went to purchase road bikes. The young associate helping us was fantastic. Polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. He couldnt have been more helpful. However, my wife had to look at four of the exact same bikes before we found one without problems. The others wouldnt change gears properly or had other problems in addition to the gears. Otherwise a five star rating.

The fishing sections are still depleted on the stuff we all look for. The rod and reel combos are on the low end of the spectrum. We could use alot of the more expensive combos in this store.

Was looking for a bigger lunchbox and better quality. Found the perfect one & it came with two aluminum water bottles also. Has a convenient opening in top for easy access!! At a reasonable price also. Just wish they had a few other colors but it works for what i need!!

We went here today after going to a Dunhams, and OMG this place is amazing. The staff are friendly, the selection is amazing. They have price scanners everywhere. They have great covid-19 cleaning and barriers. We will definitely go back.

If your wanting to get someone a gift for Christmas or birthday stay away from Academy. My friends bought me some gifts from Academy and didnt give me the receipt. Im sure its like this for a lot of people because you usually dont give the person the receipt or your card info when you buy them a gift, right? Day two of having the gift which was a hunting chair. It broke. This was a $50 chair. So I went to take it back to replace it. They were out of the chair so I couldnt do an even swap. But since I didnt have the receipt or card that it was paid with they said they could only offer me the lowest low price $16 store credit for the chair. This chair btw is not on clearance and they still sell it for $50. I find this to be a very big issue. So no I will not be buying my friends and loved ones anything from Academy, because if it breaks or tears up or they just dont like it or happen to get the same gift twice there is a chance they will not be able to return for store credit at the products value and instead only get offered less than half of what was originally paid for it.

Its a great place to find firearms that are competitively priced. You can sometimes find ammo there too if youre quick. Ive had basically no complaints in my many years of shopping there.

There was a girl named Yulissa at the register & she was the sweetest! I have never treated the way she treated my daughter, sister and I! She was so nice! So sweet once again! Old guy and lady that work behind the gun counter are rude and unprofessional. I would rather pay more somewhere else than deal with them.

Typically they’ve got everything sports, just no apparel for military vets- Navy-Air Force, (hats/tshirts).

Better shoes than what most Walmarts sell.

Went in store at 9 ish looking for boots, as a contractor I must have steel toe or composite toe boots. There selection of boots are very slim and and they do not carry wide foot boots. Now Im off to tractor supply.

Ive always liked this store better than the one in Chattanooga but I do have a complaint. I realize these are tough and trying times because of Covid-19 but the changing rooms need to be opened asap. I cannot buy clothes without trying them on because sizes vary so much. I would have spent more than $200 for running clothes yesterday but I didn’t know if theyd fit. Bass Pro Shop has their changing rooms open and are selling clothes faster than they can restock. They also have a procedure in place for returned clothes.

My husband and I rode nearly two hours to pick up our online order. It was ready, however we wanted to do more shopping. I went to the front to get a cart. There were none. Another customer was doing the same and asked two guys standing there talking. They just looked at him and said they were out. Myself and another customer went into the parking lot to get a cart while these guys continued to talk. Store was not clean as most Academy Sports are. Extremely disappointed in this location.

I went to Academy Sports in Dalton, GA last week to return a pair of my grandson’s shoes for a larger size. They did not have the size I needed in stock and asked if I could drive to the Chattanooga, TN store as they had the correct size on hand; unfortunately I was not able to and explained this to the store manager, Andrew. After hearing this he made arrangements to have the correct size shoe brought to the Dalton store that same day! He was a very kind person and you could tell that he takes pride in his work, ensuring that a customer can leave there having had a good shopping experience!

I went in today and shop . I went to there restrooms and there was trash everywhere. Trash cans were full and they just had open. No excuses for them to have there restrooms that dirty with no paper towels and no toilet paper.

Cashiers are courteous and polite. Giving 5 stars for that but dont go to gun department wanting to purchase a handgun. Waited 25 min to even try to look at a handgun that I WAS gonna purchase but they people at the counter was to busy shooting the breeze with each other to help..so I took my business elsewhere

(Already knew where it was at) so after looking through the store we found 2 employees which was clueless to what we where looking for . Christmas time. The store was slightly occupied. Hard to get help.

Very dissatisfied. I went in Friday. 7/03/20 and again today 07/07/20 to look for .40Cal S&W ammunition and could not find any. There wasnt even a bin tag for it. It looks to me like they are slowly reducing the availability of ammunition. Earlier this year there were 2 full rows of ammunition, handgun ammunition on one side, rifle/shotgun on the other. Now all the ammunition is on one row, and its mostly empty.
