The girls working here are great! The first visit I had her pick a foundation for me and she was spot on with the color. The second visit I explained I needed a specific recommendation and I am very satisfied with their product picks. Great team working there. I will definately keep this as my go to. Thank you!

Please please please if you’re going to shop at ulta do NOT come to this one. My friend and I recently bleached our hair and wanted to look at products to help turn the blonde more silver and a worker ran up behind us asking if we needed help scaring me causing some of the product in the bottle to spill because I literally jumped.. then pursued to stay in the isle and watch us look at the rest of the products. Then another worker came to the isle and stood next to her laughing and giggling as we continued. We then decided to not buy anything from ulta and walking down the isle yet ANOTHER worker walked up to the two with a really mad look on her face, as if my friend and I were attempting to steal and they were trying to “catch” us. My friend and I are not from Danbury or anywhere remotely around there but we for sure will never be returning. First and definitely a last. You will get harassed.

Wowwww!!! As an esthetician, I visit this store to get things I need. I don’t need help because I know what to look for. HOWEVER I do visit here for the brow bar & I have always had a great, clean, NICE, professional service!! They recently hired Alexandra (Allie) for brow bar and she is AMAZING with waxing and tinting!!! I easily booked online & met her in store! She was sweet, and explained the whole process (which I already knew but as a fellow este I always like to kind of blind shop & see how people are professionally.) I hope she never leaves or if she does- IM GOING WITH HER!!! I used to get my hair done here but laura Shkreli left & see her in westchester now! She’s INCREDIBLY TALENTED!!!! The girls at check out were okay- they always seem a little catty or TOO GOOD which is a big turn off but I don’t employee them so not my problem.

The Salon manager and Lizette have both done an amazing job with my hair. They spend time making sure you are extra happy with the results. I was nervous about the brow bar but the associate (sorry I forgot your name!) was super amazing at not overly doing my full brows and recommending product to help me update my look. Nastiest customer service I DO NOT recommend!! Got mascara ripped out of my hand TWICE by a worker and an off clock worker. Was also given attitude for looking at a product. They do not deserve your well earned money or time. Honestly, just go to Sephora.

My 10 year old daughter got her cut and colored here recently. Her hair is totally and completely, visibly uneven. By a significant amount. Not only that, but they did not lighten the pieces enough and it came out after a week or 2. A month later its basically gone. All for $200+, to try unacceptable. Shes had her hair colored before and it looked awesome and stayed for months. I will never do that again here. Awful waste of money.

When I got my hair done here, the hair dressers were talking trash about the people who go to their salon with no thin hair. I was getting spoken to very rudely, but since I’m the one paying they should have not talked to me that way. Like I said before, they talk bad about their customers that have thin hair but I don’t understand because if someone Is PAYING them to do their hair then NOTHING SHOULD BE SAID. they are complaining about styling “thin” hair but it’s literally their job!!! If they are going to complain about doing their job then they just shouldn’t work there. If I wanted crappy hair I would’ve done it myself

I love Ulta. The prices and selection of products are unmatched. I warmly consider Ulta as an excellent one-stop shop for all of ones makeup and beauty supply needs. The stores are always great looking, clean, and organized.But wow! Im relieved but not remotely surprised to see that plenty of other customers have experienced the one unpleasant thing that seems to be characteristic of the Danbury Fair Mall location: a staff behavioral problem that has gone unaddressed and has perpetuated for the last couple of years or so.I have visited this location several times because I live in Danbury (so obviously its the most convenient location for me) but have never once felt welcome or comfortable here. Ive never been greeted upon entering the store. I totally understand if the day happens to be understaffed, and associates are in the middle of work, but when you have plenty of staff up front, standing around chatting rather than acknowledging those coming through the door, thats a problem: its rude and its poor customer service.Another repeat problem I saw throughout the other reviews was that of profiling (racial or otherwise who knows) and following customers closely around the store in this very adamant loss prevention type of pursuit. The only time I have a decent shopping experience here and am left alone (as in, not being tagged around the store like a common criminal) is if Im with my boyfriend. Again, this shows a severe lack of respect for customers, is outrageously rude, and oozes abysmally poor customer service or lack thereof.My last visit which was this past Friday, 09/27, I entered the store with the usual routine: walk in, no greeting from chatting associates, and was immediately preyed upon by two associates who leered at/stalked me instead of asking me if I needed help finding anything. Did I mention it was my birthday as well? LOL. Star treatment. I actually noticed the associates were doing this to several customers, following them around, it reminded me of Pac-Man Battle Royale. And not once...not once...did I hear any of these associates ask any of the customers they were pursuing if they needed assistance.I ONLY received assistance when I asked for it, conveniently the associate I spoke to was right next to me, and who no doubt was making sure I wasnt pilfering anything. By then, I got what I needed and immediately went to the checkout and left. I really wanted to stay and browse, but I was honestly afraid of being watched and followed the whole time. Very uncomfortable, very unwelcoming, and just a complete turnoff...so much to the point that I wonder if its even worth visiting this location at all.Maybe this location needs to revamp its company culture and values. Maybe your associates need sensitivity training. While I understand how important loss prevention is, you can simply train your staff to be aware of their work environment and make themselves available to customers. If they cared more about assisting shoppers, rather than chatting amongst themselves, they wouldnt have to be so overly worried that everyone walking in has the motive to steal. Maybe their misguided priorities further indicates that they are not effectively doing their jobs.Or maybe, if your associates are that biased, mistrusting, prejudiced and cant bring themselves to help ALL customers with the most basic needs, answer questions, or simply say hello to them, maybe they shouldnt be working in retail or with the public at all.

I recently walked into this store with a friend coming from work within the mall. I needed some bath products cause I tend to have bathroom OCD. I shop here all the time, reward card proves it. Yet moments after my friend and I went looking for items a mall guard walked to the side of us and circled. A lady then proceeded to stand outside the aisle and watch us. Extremely uncomfortable. Im a manager myself and what she did was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant for a customer. The guard was clearly called. I didnt mention yet, my friend and I are people of color. I had no bags and she had a small bag from our job. I was so upset and uncomfortable I wanted to drop the item I had and walk out. I have NEVER experienced this before. I asked for her name, Ashley, she told me and I left before buying the item I actually needed. I doubt Ill shop here again after.

So this is not the first time but the second time this has happened to me which leads me to write this complaint. Almost a year ago I walked in to Sephora with a friend who was inquiring about a few skin products. We walk into the store and proceed to the side that has all the skin care, a woman is following us at first we think nothing of it and then she continues to stand near us wherever we walk inside the store. Then she asked us if we needed help with anything but she was very rude about it. After we spoke to a manager and corporate customer service and they said that they would handle it. After that never shop at Ulta again until today because I needed shampoo and Ulta was the closest location that had the shampoo that I typically get. I was so happy I was ready to go in there and spend some serious money almost $300 worth to be exact because I typically purchase diva curl which is pretty expensive. However, in the shampoo section and I see a woman circle around me and then she decided to later rudely ask me if I needed help with anything I politely said no. And realize that it was the same woman from before!! I got two travel sized items and left. So I realized today that ULTA you guys definitely need to do some customer service training’s close all the stores for one day and reevaluate all your employees. No one is exempt. For this woman to insult any customer is a problem. And I have been working in customer service for 6 years now and I know what great service looks like. But I see that I need to take this a step higher this time to really make my voice heard because this is not right I should not walk into a store ready to spend money and be insulted and not even purchase what I wanted

Honestly, this store is my second home. Even though most of the employees seem to recognize me as a regular/ beauty veteran, they still ask me if I need assistance, which I appreciate. Ive never had an issue with customer service and I can always find what I am looking for, great product selection. But with their new remodel?? I AM IN LOVE. The addition of Flower Beauty, Wet N Wild, LA Girl, Morphe, Milani, E.L.F. and the expansion of Essence and Makeup Revolution: these are ALL cruelty free affordable drugstore brands and I am STOKED that my local Ulta is repping CF brands. I will be returning again and again and again. Take my money!

I went there at 8:30 and the woman was closing the registers so I asked politely if she could direct me to the hair care section because I was looking for a product that they have in stores and she told me that it isnt sold at Ulta whatsoever when I have purchased it from there before and then told me to go and try somewhere else in the mall. I have been suffering from extremely dry hair from what I thought was from my lack of a thyroid (total thyroidectomy due to cancer), but then I was diagnosed with lung cancer recently and this week was given a date for lung surgery. So I look bad due to extremely dry, frizzy hair. Today I walked in to Ulta in Danbury for the first time and i was feeling very down. Then I met Laura, told her my hair dilemma and eventually about my recent lung cancer diagnosis. She not only fixed my hair but made me feel better. She was caring and understanding but was the best at taking care of my hair then anyone in a long time. I cant thank her enough!!! Laura, if you are reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! (even if I never got that coffee you made for me, LOL). You seriously helped me not only to look better but to feel better! 😄😄😄

I visited ULTA at Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury, CT this evening at around 5 PM and the customer service from a particular sales associate was incredibly poor. He and I made eye contact as I walked around the store looking for an associate, and when I waved at him, he looked annoyed and acted as if he decided to do me a favor by doing his job and helping me. When I asked him questions he acted as if he had other things he needed to do and before I was through he asked another associate if their store carried the item i was looking for, she politely answered no and he just walked away as if I never even interacted with him. My question is why???????? Hmmm....

I walked in just to browse around picked up a couple of lipsticks/lipgloss and I was looking at a palette but needed help and had a few questions. ALL of the employees were by the register just talking and laughing. They clearly saw me and completely ignored me. So I put everything back and left. Clearly no one wanted my money so I went to sephora instead.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I recently visited the store in Milford mall and with the outstanding help of a beauty advisor, I found a product that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately they were out of stock for the item and recommended I visit the Danbury store. I visited the Danbury store and noticed a store associate and asked if by chance they had the item. All I knew was the color but did not remember the Brand off-hand. When I told her the name of the color, she rudely says never heard of it!. I was a bit surprised because I expected her to be a bit more well versed in what they carried. She then RUDELY asked me the Brand name and for the life of me I couldnt remember. Her attitude and patience was so unprofessional I said never mind, Ill find someone else to help me. Her attitude when I said this? Yep - okay! and she walks away and mumbles in the ear of her co-worker at the cash register. Because of my sincere interest and the fact that I drove over 22 miles to get to this store, I walked around to see if I could find the item myself. In walking around I noticed that the store layout was similar to Milford and I remembered the exact location the Associate in Milford took me - so I went there and voila - I found my item. Upon checking out I specifically asked or someone else to ring me out. While Im happy that I found my item, I left there very upset about how I was handled as a customer.I will NEVER recommend THE DANBURY LOCATION and I honestly feel bad for the Company overall if their mission statement involves providing exceptional customer service. They should not have people like this in operational roles that interact with customers. At the end of the day, the Company itself will suffer due to non-returning customers.
