I could not have had a better experience...I came in to buy my first pedals a few days ago. Dylan and Alex couldnt have been more patient and kind, helping me test a bunch of delays and overdrive pedals side by side.Ended up going with BOSS but I was super stoked to learn the differences between an analog delay and digital, as well as a great recommendation of a Blues Driver over a more traditional overdrive considering my desire to play country/rock.Thank you so much Guitar Center! I cant wait to come back.
Not only does this place have an awesome selection of pre-owned gear at killer prices, it also has one of the nicest managers in town. Tommy took the time to really explain things to me, and was super patient with my limitations as a largely self-taught musician and I truly appreciate it. Will definitely be coming back here all the time.
This place is the best Guitar Center location Ive been too. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy at all. Highly recommend
I’ve never been to a guitar center where they only sell used floor model guitars. I asked if they they could unlock a guitar for me to try but the bald manager said they limit people playing the locked guitars because the floor models are the actual ones they sell to people. He told me they don’t sell new guitars. Are you serious? This guitar center only sells used floor model guitars to people? And he said they don’t even discount the price even tho it’s a used floor model, So full price for a used floor model guitar? What are these guys smoking? Why would I pay full price for a used floor model guitar? No wonder their in store guitar sales are decreasing. So since he gave me a hard time about unlocking the guitar I said never mind and left
Not bad, employees are usually nice and helpful, sometimes they’ll come up to you and ask if you need help, but not always. They were also awesome enough to give me free boxes to ship my guitars. Selection is not too bad. Wish they at least had more options for lefties though. Its not too sparse, but I’ll usually see one or two lefty electric and acoustics, never see any lefty basses.
Wonderful staff at this clean well-organized store. TJ and Dylan were wonderful!
Super friendly staff, the store is very clean and well organized. I went there to purchase an electric guitar set for my son to start learning on.Ty helped my wife and I and he was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about the stock, very clear with his advice and made the whole experience delightful. We will return to this store for sure!
This Guitar Center had exactly what we needed for our event. They, especially a rep named Red, were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Plus, their prices were great for what we needed. He even helped me load up our equipment into our car in the rain. Definitely recommend this Guitar Center. 👍🏼
Come on, its Guitar Center...they had what I needed, when I needed it, and they were courteous 😎
They mistakenly told me that the used keyboard I wanted was at that location. I told them I was nearly an hour away, and was assured it was there. It wasnt. However, they went out of there way to please us and gave us an unbeatable deal on a new one. Thats the way to do business, in my opinion.
Very helpful service. They help me to find a specific product I was looking for. Very friendly and professional.
I slipped into the Danbury Guitar Center for a Sunday browse and was taken aback by the sparse, less-than-stellar selection of axes and gear. I get it that store inventories have to be streamlined due to pandemic setbacks, as well as the general decline due to online buying...but wow...it wasnt too far above the likes of a small local music shop with thrift models galore. Albeit, Ive been getting much of my gear online since the late 90s...but still, its a sad day when a brick and mortar guitar superstore cant even tempt my wallet a little bit. :/
Called to get advice on which electronic drum kit to buy. The person I spoke to was friendly, knowledgable and candid, quickly helping me narrow down my purchase. Thank you!
Always Great people! Always a great help
For such a small location compared to others Ive been to, this location had a great selection. Didnt really interact with any staff.
The workers are nice people. It’s just that their service isn’t that great. They hardly have anything in stock most of the time when it comes to percussion hardware. And they never have the price tags on a lot of products when it comes to percussion products, especially drumheads. The music that is played on the speakers is terrible it’s like this dubstep electronic music and other genres that I’m just like, “What is this music?” It doesn’t really align with the store itself. I mean it’s a guitar store it’s called “guitar Center“ They should play good music. Play some classic/ modern rock etc. anything but what is currently being played there.
If I could give negative stars I would. I waited 10 days for this item I bought used from the guitar center website and actually called the store in Danbury, CT where a condescending man-child with an English accent assured me the item was in mint condition. They shipped it across the country in the original packaging with no bubble wrap, protective box, or anything that would protect it. The unit was rattling around in the box when I picked it up. Upon opening it I found that every side was broken and it was covered in some sort of sticky substance. I don’t appreciate being lied to, having my time wasted, or this incompetent attempt at shipping an expensive item I spent my hard earned money on. I’ve spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at guitar center. Unbelievably incompetent...
Was expecting some really good black Friday deals. It was pretty much the same old same old.
Guys always friendly...Good deal on beautiful Ovation
I will never go here again...This Danbury CT store has the most incompitant employees working for them....I called and asked them to put aside a specific amp for me and told them I am traveling 45 minutes from NY to pick it up... While talking to them on the phone, I asked the girl and manager working in the guitar dept on several occasions if the item was in stock...They told me YES, and to come on down... After traveling for 45 min to get there, I entered the store and had noticed that they had the wrong amp put aside for me...When I questioned them about the amp that I had ordered they told me that they never had it in stock in the store...but they could order it for me... Really??? I dont think so...I will do my business elsewhere and will never go back there again...Thank you very much for wasting my Sunday, my gas, and making me drive 1 hr and a half round trip for nothing...
While this is a tight space for a Guitar Center location, it has the wall of guitars and all the stuff. I got great advice and direction from Michael in selecting a mic for my home studio. Five stars for what they know how to do and the patience to explain it to me. ThanK you. Recommended
Ive been to several Guitar Centers and this is not my favorite. They have a limited stock of higher quality gear and focus mostly on the lower end models. I have been in twice recently and no one greeted me either time or asked if I needed help even though people were clearly available. Compared to other stores, this one is just OK in my opinion.
Dealt with Mike from Collins way. Hes always helpful cool guy. I am looking forward to the opening of GC after this COVID thing. The selection here is a bit underwhelming but the customer service is good. I just mean that they have the run of them mill stuff nothing exciting. Good stuff never the less.
Night a guitar, the bald guy was cool
Amazing service, Amazing selection and kind employees. Nice facility.
Recent stay in town mandated a visit to the location. Great service and contact with the staff, and even had an impromptu sit and jam with a local musician. Made for a great encounter, and well worth the 5 stars given. Great thanks to Mike,; for the information, anecdotes, and the play time on that great Yamaha Trans-Acoustic. Hope your store continues the great work, and hope you sold a couple of Yamaha(s) based on the fun playing with it (and folks) while there. Thanks, will be back.
I went here to return something because the box was missing a keyboard pedal which was from a different guitar center. I didnt realize that the box Ive purchased didnt come with the pedal and they didnt have the box that did in stock so they gave me a pedal from a different brand. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful, I go to this guitar center for all my musical needs now. I highly recommend it.
Great staff, helpful. Would get 5 stars if the location had a bit more space/product in house. Decent parking, easy on and off from highway, close proximity to Mall.
First, we go here all the time! This past visit we had several questions about a guitar my son is building. Alex is their top notch repair person. She is very well trained in her craft. She spent a lot of time not only answering my questions but showed my son different tips and tricks! The care that all the employees there show is amazing. We have never received bad advice from them and they are always willing to help. All 5 of our kids play instruments at different skill levels and we always buy from guitar center especially this store. Service is outstanding and they always have what we need at great prices. Plus, they have a lot of staff on hand so there is never a long wait to get help. I cant say enough good things about this company and particularly about this Danbury CT store! Awesome!
This isnt my first not-so-great experience at this Guitar Center. Today there was a non service-tagged animal in the store and while an associate did try very hard to help my try out a Fractal Audio Rack FX preamp, there was apparently no power amp available to use so that I could here. Its a shame because Ive never had an opportunity to try one of those before but I wasnt going to drop $1000+ on something I couldnt here first.
Beautiful store and flawless customer service and assistance. Very wide variety of guitars and other instruments. Its a little expensive but its 100% worth spending.
Guitar Center is pretty cool. I can kind of play guitar and piano and I also sometimes make music with FL Studio so its really fun to come in and play around with all the really fancy things. Youre welcome to take the guitars off the rack and play, same with the other demo products they have out. Their staff always is happy to assist or just talk about something musical.
Ive purchased 3 guitars from here and the latest 2 purchases were a nightmare in customer experience and service. They had the guitar shipped to the store and had the amp in stock but wouldnt give it to us since we ordered the amp online and it hadnt arrived yet. When the amp did arrive they didnt give us the cables that were part of the bundle. Wasted 3 hours in driving to this place. Completely inflexible customer experience
Dope experience, the store manager Tom and his staff are all helpful and made getting financed super easy and set me up with just what I wanted, if I could rate it higher I would but Google caps me at 5 stars, Steve is the best :)
Extremely genuine, and helpful staff. A gentleman, whom I am assuming was the manager, went above and beyond to assist me. They were sold out of an item I wanted, and he went into a drawer at his desk to get a spare one for me. Free of charge.Thank you so much to all the staff at the Danbury store.
Alex, Tommy, and Mackenzie are literally the best. They are all truly passionate about music, and not there to just there to sell you stuff. They want to make sure that what you are getting is what you need... And also want.Alex is a badass tech from another plane of existence.
Amazing staff........
Staff was friendly, not too pushy lol. Happy with my purchase, a Fender Concert Acoustic Electric. Looked online for price comparisons, G. C. s price was right in line.
A worker named Chris was the most amazing help ever. Thanks for the Stratocaster !
I was pawned off 2 x, by 2 different employees before getting help. I had a simple question. Joe the cashier was the only helpful and polite person I encountered.
Very pleasant to shop at guitar center in Danbury. The boys were very helpful in me buying the amp head. I look forward to going back to pickup the amp. 4 stars since the product wasnt in stock.
Mgr. Ed and Sales person Vince (specializes in drums) gave exemplary service. They were so pleasant, and made my shopping experience a great one. Another reason to shop at your local music store rather than ordering from a black abyss online vendor. Kudos to your and your staff.
Nice guitar store with friendly staff. Selection is pretty good but definitely leans towards lower priced guitars.
Called the store before to check if the item I desired was in stock, the associate from Pro Audio informed me there was 1 left in stock, so I drove 40 minutes only to be told that the item left was not there and then continued to convince me to buy another licensing software product that would work with my DAW just fine. Did not work, so had my money and time here by this associate and store.
I was not allowed to return or exchange a music book I got as a gift, even with a receipt. The products online that I was interested in was not in the store. Their used instruments were over priced. All in all not a good experience.
Always a good experience there. Everyone is helpful & knowledgeable.
Relaxed feel of place is awesome, everyone knows the strengths of the others in the store and know who and how they can help you the best. I have brought several people in to the store for various things and even if they didnt have exactly what we needed they told us how they could get it or where we could go to get it.
Pretty rude place. My wife and I went to buy a music stand for our grandson and a guitar for our granddaughter. Salesman picked out some stands for us and when we were leaning to the cheaper of them he didnt want anything else to do with us and walked away! Needless to say I wasnt going to pursue the guitar with them. Heading to Sam Ash in White Plains tomorrow. I dont normally write reviews like this but both my wife and I were offended. BTW, we are both musicians (I play guitar and my wife piano) and we couldve been ongoing customers.
With the closing of RadioShack Guitar Center please the place to find those hard to configure audio cables. Ive got a great selections of instruments and DJ gear which is much appreciated. I got to spend more time here.
Went in the other day because I recently have started to re engage with my musical side so I decided to go pick up some accessories for my guitar Michael was real cool guy helpful and friendly and played a sweet little lick on the guitar, will def be returning in near future
Always friendly help from people that know what there talking about.
Recently purchased a $200 classical yamaha from this place. The bald (nothing wrong with bald, but its descriptive) sales guys attitude totally changed from dissmissive to pleasant once he realized I was actually there to buy. (Full disclosure I was testing a guitar perhaps with slightly more gusto than was appreciated, not wailing on the thing though, played softer when asked)Bought the Yamaha straight out of the box. Strings fell apart in 3 days. Total garbage.Would have been nice to get a warning about the poor quality of that models manufacturer strings. Would have purchased new strings and a restring on the spot.Generally felt disrespected for shopping at that price point. They gave me new strings when I threatened to return the whole guitar, but not before they tries to pin the 3 day disintegration of new strings on me. 3 days of moderate use. 3 days.Never buying from Guitar Center again.Ive had much cheaper, friendlier, more knowledgeable, and more respectful buying experiences at freaking pawn shops.(Plus there was that one time an associate tried to tell me that monster cables enabled significantly less digital delay.)Gross.
I like this store. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I bought a used guitar from another guitar center and after a few days with it, I noticed that it had some issues. I brought it in and the tech, Chris, tried to fix it for me. The guitar needed the tuning machines replaced - the ones on the guitar produced a buzzing sound while the guitar was being played. They offered to either replace the tuning machines or give me $50 off a new guitar. I took the discount on the new guitar, which has turned out to be great! Instead of a used Epiphone Les Paul Studio - I ended up with a new Epiphone Les Paul Studio at a discounted price.
Nice people they want to help. Never have any drummer accessories. I check the site and this store never has anything. Always has to be ordered. If you show up they may have one its a demo unit and stuffs missing. Every. Single. Time. Terrible I have to drive an hour to a location that has equipment.
Great selection, solid pricing and helpful staff. Hallmark of what you expect from a Guitar Center. I have bought things as small as headphones, as large as a drum kit and guitar. I stop here monthly. Its the HomeDepot for musicians.
Mr Smith has been very helpful with a tricky issue we had... very efficient manager. Thank you!
Helpful and chill staff
Great place to buy a guitar, really good service, good deals on their used stuff..
Helpful staff. Great music teachers. Great selection.
My favorite music store. If you buy Cables, trust, buy livewire brand. They will truly replace those for free if they go bad. And believe they do randomly.
Went to guitar center in Danbury and the staff there is really some of the best in the game . I had a problem with a guitar I bought there and with no problems, they listened to my problem and allowed me to find a guitar that was more suited to my playing . I walked out with an epiphone Les Paul studio and I love it . The staff was so helpful, I am more than impressed with this place and I will be back for the years to come.
Very good customer service my son is taking guitar lessons with Patrick he s very good with kids .
No good for anything but buying guitars and equip. They dont really have or keep stock on hand for things like tuners or specialty stuff. String selection is very basic, the pedal selection is like 15 pedals. Everything i needed they did not have. Not really impressed with the staff either. Seems like i was the brunt of a joke when i walked in and everyone working there turned atound and started laughing. So that also made a bad first impression. I tried but no way. Alto music in wappingers falls is my go to place.
Excellent place great customer services excellent
Just a great experience all around .
Staff was incredibly helpful, store was clean and organized, selection was wide, and prices were fair.
I went into guitar center to purchase a PA, Mic and mixer. I was there for about 15 minutes walked around the entire store. Not one person talked to me the entire time I was there. I went there to ask advice about what I should purchase but instead left because the options were confusing. Yeah I know I could have went up to the counter and asked for help but I figured eventually someone would ask if needed anything. I even fooled around on a sit down electric keyboard for a few minutes. I guess Ill just watch some YouTube videos on what people recommend purchasing.
A wide variety of instruments at dinner decent prices
Great service, decent selection (could use more Gibsob guitars!), lessons and more! Check it out!
Great place..when I die I wanna be buried in the store,lol...great people,GREAT GUITARS!!
Friendly and helpful staff. Answered all my questions and concerns.
Great selection, prices and most of all, a wonderfully helpful staff!
Nice store. Micheal was great to talk to and very helpful
Staff is cool and very helpful. Nice selections
Great customer service, friendly atmosphere.... Sick guitars
Used to come here alot to get my strings, stopped carrying alot of the Dunlop branded acousitc and electric strings along with anything that has a bottom 6th string with anything larger then a .13. barely any hardware to repair guitars with thats worth the money. seems they have shifted more towards selling gig gear for club and dance setups. Whatever happened to the analog musician? Will be going to Alto music from here on out it seems
Knowledgeable staff, and cant beat their string of the month club.
Staff was very helpful
Notta lotta lefty guitar stuff, but we still had fun.
Friendly, no pressure, helpful, nice inventory
Great selection and friendly staff!
Its guitar center.
Smaller the the Guitar Center that Im used to, but its great to have one nearby.
Helped me pick one of my favorite guitars and a amazing amp at a reasonable/good price
Knowledgeable staff and easy to locate store
Id like to start my review off with that I am generally not a big fan of large corporate music stores. That being said, this Guitar Center does a good job. The reason being the employees helpfulness and niceties. Selection is ok, but could be more varied such as a larger amount of Ibanez, 7 strings, Music Man, ect and less Fenders n Gibsons.
Wide selection of instruments with very helpful and knowledgeble staff.
I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with all of the staff here at Danbury Guitar Center, however, one associate stood out to yesterdays experience. Michael, approached my parents and I On what we thought would be a casual look through in your store. He was not only polite but very pleasant to speak with. He was professional yet personal and we learned about his band too (Collin way and his sons union rail-which both kick ass btw). My father and I had such a great experience walking through the different gear with Michael that we both happily purchased a guitar each, with absolutely zero buyers remorse. I will continue to support this business in the future with anymore purchases. Thank you guys again
Tommy Del Prete, the store manager, assisted me with an online order that I almost cancelled, due to other stores dropping the ball. There were issues with sourcing the amp I ordered, but he was attentive and responsive throughout, and he ultimately helped me find stock in another store by reaching out to them personally. If EVERY store had leadership and customer service at this level, GC would be more than just a Walmart for musical instruments in my eyes. Shining example from the Danbury store.
Very helpful guitar tech in residence!. Knows her stuff!
Staff is very nice and dont put any pressure on you to buy anything.
Salesman (Joe) was very helpful and friendly. Thank you
Theyve always been very helpful and professional about everything. Really nice staff and the manager is very nice.
The staff here is always helpful and always friendly
Great store! Amazing staff! I had a problem with a Alesia nitro drum kit I bought for my kids. There was a problem getting parts from the manufacturer. Nothing to do GC. Jason at GC stayed on it, followed up multiple times with me. Called to check in on progress of parts etc. yelled at them when they sent the wrong parts and ultimately handled the situation! I can’t say enough of how dedicated they are to customer service at this Danbury location. We have been dealing with them for years and have NEVER been disappointed. They always go above and beyond for their customers. Buy with confidence from this GC location! Thanks Jason! Your efforts were greatly appreciated and the drums are working great again!
Beware. I called twice to check and then confirm a rental price for a keyboard since I would be driving 45 minutes to get there. Both times they said it would be $80. Once I got there, they finally told me about a 10-40% deposit...I was annoyed that they hadnt mentioned it before, but I shrugged it off since I would get that back. Then they tell me they dont have that keyboard and I would have to get a different rental for $120, plus a $60 deposit. So now its $40 more and a 50% deposit? I understand that mistakes happen, but the customer should not have to pay for it. Instead of taking accountability and fixing it for the customer, they shrugged their shoulders and blamed it on an out of date binder. Poor business practice.
Staff is very helpful.
Great selection, and helpful staff
Helpful staff, good selection, offer lessons and good prices.
Excellent Product and good services
