The guy that did the diagnostic and repair was great, very personable and answered all my questions. I will definitely use them again. The capacitor needed to be replaced, that was it. Quick diagnostic and fix. I didn’t give 5 stars only because I thought that $430 was a lot to pay for this. The part is $15 and the balance is labor for a half hours work. I’m very appreciative that the problem was diagnosed and I didn’t have to buy a new unit, for sure. It just seems pricey, maybe that’s just the market price, if so i should offer to make an equity investment in an HVAC company. :-)

Called for service on a system they did not install. After leaving a service inquiry on their web site I was contacted in about 15 minutes! WOW! in an age where you are lucky if anyone calls you back at all, I was lucky enough that they had a service tech in the area and they were on site in under 30 minutes. From the moment I contacted them they were professional and responsive. This service was for a secondary structure on the property but the main house needs a complete HVAC replacement. They are most definitely going to be contacted for that work when I am ready. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

They tried to change the price by email as the technicians were arriving, because they were running late and were going to have to pay them overtime. When I called and complained that their running late should not cost me extra, they claimed it was a misunderstanding on their end. Then they proposed a 600 dollar option that would “not fix the system” and require them to come back another time to actually test it. I will not be using them going forward.

Hefferon is a life saver! They are one of the easiest companies to work with! My husband and I just purchased our first home in January and when we had it inspected we were told my the inspector that since it was winter we werent able to have the central air tested. With everything else checking out ok we assumed that the central air would be good as well. We were unfortunately wrong! We found out on a Saturday that it was broken called one other company out they diagnosed it as being look on freon. They filled it left and it still wasnt working so we decided to try other companies. Hefferon was one of the ones that we called. They were nice from the very start! Andrew S came out on a Friday cleaned the machine and told us that it looked like it hadnt been maintained in a while he thought that the machine being dirty might be the issue, so he cleaned it and left. The AC worked all day Friday into Saturday then stopped working again. I called them Saturday afternoon the on call tech called me back within 10 minutes of when I left the message. He stated that he would contact Andrew and the owner and let them know. Monday morning I got a call from the office and they stated that Andrew would be out that day. Sure enough he was here! He looked at the unit outside and told us that there were several parts that needed to be replaced and told us a cost. He also told us the cost of replacing the whole unit. He didnt pressure us at all either way and told us that it was up to us and what we were comfortable with. He left my husband and I to talk while he went and looked at the unit downstairs. We decided it would be a better idea in the long run to replace the whole system. He got us the quote right away within 24 hours and was able to schedule us within a week! He came today to replace the unit and he was so professional and polite. I cant thank him enough! He was amazing and we will forever use Hefferon!

Extremely satisfied with the entire Hefferon team. First year in my home I had placed a service call for basic maintenance in June 2019. A service tech named Andrew came out and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. March 2020 I was having more serious issues with my old unit and placed a service call at 9:00AM on a Friday. Christina had Andrew out to my home less than an hour later. After the diagnostic began there was a need to allow the compressor to cool down on the heat pump. Rather than come back another day, Andrew left to another job and returned a few hours later to finish the diagnostic. We decided that with the age of the unit, replacement was the best option. A day later Andrew emailed me with numerous options, detailed pricing and clearly and concisely answered any questions or concerns I had. After the proposal was signed they scheduled the install soon thereafter. The install was as smooth as could be. Andrew arrived on time, explained how the job would be completed and was sure to wear shoe coverings when entering my home so that no dirt would be tracked in. They worked throughout the day and I barely knew they were even there. After install Andrew went over every aspect of the newly installed air handler, heat pump and thermostat and again answered any and all questions I had. I like to give praises where praises are due. Hefferon Heating and Cooling just installed a Trane Air conditioning system in our 1956 year old home. This company is exceptional. Ernie Hefferon came to the appointment when he said he would and discussed our options. We thought we were going to get a ductless system and after evaluating our home he felt that the traditional system would work better to suit our needs. Ernie sat down with us and answered all questions, provided us with the estimate and followed through with seeing the job until completion. Sam and all the installers were fantastic. Covering floors and furniture with drop clothes, their shoes with booties. These gentleman had to work in a hot attic for days installing the duct work.They even hung the air handler in the attic so you wouldnt get any vibration. At the end they took the time to explain how to work the system. Ernie told me he had a great group of men who worked for him and he was absolutely right. Hefferon replaced my 12 year old hot water tank this month. A convenient appointment was made and two technicians came on time with everything that was needed. Ernie and his team are very professional and it shows in the work they did for me. Im very happy with the Trane heat pump that they installed. They installed the outdoor unit, ran new duct work in the attic of my raised ranch, and also subcontracted the electrical work to be done the right way. The ductwork is immensely tidy and the attic is still very usable for storage. They even relocated the ductless mini split system that I had in the living down to the lower level for free. Im very happy that I dont have to use baseboard heating anymore. The central air conditioning and heating is the only way to go and its definitely worth the price. Our 25+ year old air conditioning system needed replacement. I sought bids from 3 different service providers. One was cheaper but the system did not get good reviews. One was ridiculously over priced for the same lousy system. Hefferon had the most highly rated replacement systems and came in with the best price. The installation had to replace the air handler and associated piping in an incredibly difficult attic crawl space with only a pop up hatch for access. The crew of technicians got the job done in a superb craftsman like manner. The installation work could not have been done any better. The new system is a thing of beauty. Excellent, honest evaluation and explanation of the central air problem. Although pinholes are in the coils causing compromised cooling, Andy gave us a few current fix options as well as longer term resolution options for our 15 year old Trane system. For now, we went with the least expensive approach and are all set with great cooling for the balance of this summer. We’ll have the Hefferon team out early next spring for maintenance and decide if we want to repair or replace the system, or continue to wait and see if we can get the estimated additional 4-5 years of life out of it. Reasonable pricing for this fix (Freon, cleaning and filter). Very satisfied customer.

Ernie Hefferon was highly referred to us by close friends, but still, I had multiple quotes from a few local AC contractors to install a full central AC system in our home. Ernie stood out as competitively priced, but most importantly, super knowledgeable and cool to work with... I had to have someone I could trust. He and his guys were out in 95 degree heat all week installing ducts through closets, registers in the ceilings, etc... in that crazy 150 degree attic, and did an amazing job. They worked with a vacuum at their side and cleaned as they went. We had an incredibly difficult aspect to our project... to get a duct into a lower roof-line for our family room and while every other contractor said it was impossible, his guy Andrew treated that like a challenge and made it work - it was INCREDIBLE. All closet duct-work was done in rigid metal... very high quality workmanship. The system is perfectly balanced and keeps the house cool and dry effortlessly on the hottest days. And, of course the I-Phone app to control everything makes it extra-cool!I recommend Ernie Hefferon and his business without hesitation. Doing business with Ernie Hefferon has by far been the best repair experience I’ve had during 22 years of owning this house. First off, I was to deal with personable Ernie himself, not with some sales rep whose commission would be built into the price. The replacement of two compressors and air handlers was accomplished in two days by polite, competent, and well-spoken technicians who didn’t seem to mind a question or two from me along the way. Don’t even bother to get alternative quotes; you won’t do any better.

Hefferon was prompt, delivered on time, and did a great job. They met the estimate and the installers were professional and well equipped for the job. My system is working as advertised and I recommend them highly for any installation. Five stars, and if there were six theyd get that too!

The day of the appointment, I was notified when he was on the way. Information he gave me has made a significant positive difference in our home. I highly recommend this company. Great service! We had new heater and a/c units installed and Ernie and his team were terrific. They even offered to help with a problem we were having with poor air flow to certain rooms in our house due to improper ducting done by the original installer. Pricing was very competitive and they assisted us in getting rebates from the manufacturer and also our energy provider.
