One star is generous. I am so frustrated with this shop. I called 3 times to confirm they had a specific bike that I wanted and they kept assuring me they had the bike. I took off early from work and drove an hour and a half to find out they didnt have the bike, and didnt seem to even know which model I wanted. Its a Charcoal Giant Escape Disc 1. I detailed on every call what the bike was and they assured me it would be built when I arrived but as soon as I stepped into the shop I was told they didnt have it and that I could wait while they built me something else. The guy the went to the back and came out to show me a bike with a different color, components and tires. It was not the bike, and he didnt seem to even know how to identify a bike model or year based on tires and components as I read them off Giants Website. I will never visit this shop again. I have seen better product knowledge at a McDonalds.

Picture this. It was the spring of 2021. In the midst of a global pandemic, one intrepid mother attempted to do the impossible - purchase bicycles for the family.Seriously though, quality bikes are really hard to find right now! Everyone and their grandmothers are trying to get outside as a family. After going around the entire bay area looking for a good bike that wont break the bank, I discovered this small, well stocked bike shop. The owner was extremely helpful and patient with my autistic son. We left with two bikes that will last us forever for under $1500! We will definitely come back when my husband is ready to upgrade his Specialized Rockhopper.

I typically shopping more local with mom and pop shops to help the local establishment. I walk into the and place is empty. No acknowledgment from the two employees while I searched the store. Poor customer service. Might as well just shop online.

Drove 1.5hrs with my Fiance (who took work off early) to get a bike he was so excited to get, only to arrive and see that:1. It wasnt built when they said they would have it built when he arrived.2. They did not have the bike he wanted (despite 1 phone call/week to confirm that they still had it).3. Employee acted like he did not anticipate him coming even though he said oh yeah, we talked about it....4. Employee struggled to identify specific models.5. Oh, you drove 1.5 hours to get here? He was told this weeks in advance, once a week, to make sure everything lined up perfectly. How does that even happen? Turns out they didnt even know what they had in their inventory, despite confirming that they did have it over the phone multiple times. Either they dont know bikes or they just lied and hoped my Fiance would just buy what was there.

Walked in prepared to drop 5 grand on my first mountain bike and when I walked in I noticed the 3 employees standing there did not have any mask on whatsoever so I proceeded to pull mine down as I browsed. After about 1 minute they finally acknowledged my presence and told me smugly that I needed to pull my mask up. I immediately walked out and will never return.Practice what you preach Danville bikes, plus the selection was weak

I was fixing up an old cruiser bike this weekend. My father recommended this shop as the best repair shop in town for an older bike. I stopped by this afternoon and was pleased to visit this shop. There were two nice repair men in the shop area fixing up some nice steel frame bikes. I talked to Jose at the front desk and he was able to cut me a new brake cable and find a new chain to replace the rusty old one on my bike. It is nice to see a productive and efficient shop working on classic bikes. Good small-town local bike shop.

We went there for the first time this past week for a repair and were not impressed, think maybe they are not so interested in doing small repairs that dont generate much revenue. Will probably not use again.

Purchased a 2020 NEW bike from this shop. A part broke so dropped the bike to be fixed and was told it would be ready the following Friday. Fast forward 60 days later and countless calls on my behalf to 1000 excuses on why they couldnt get the part. Every contact was given the response that well reach out to you by Friday with an update (which never happened). Finally I drove over to pick up the bike, which is the main reason for this review. I was nice and w/o emotion however the owner had a chip on his shoulder. He got the bike and told me Good luck fixing it and proceeded to speak to me in a demeaning tone You wont find the part. I completely understand COVID impact to supply/demand and supply chain however its not cool to be treated this way from someone from your community. I now have a brand new bike purchased from my neighborhood bike shop that cant be used. $700 purchase and I have to now replace with a new bike. Sadden that I have to get in my car and drive past a bike shop in our neighborhood to find someone that doesnt treat customers like an ssahole. Very disappointed. For reference this is a Giant XTC JR 26 2020 product. Im sure on a good day this guy is awesome but I had 60 days of examples of him completely disregarding my son and I. Poor little guy without a bike for so long sucks. Best of luck to this place but we wont be back.

I took my brand new bike there for a tune up. When I went to pick up my bike, I checked and the brand new reflectors were missing from the bike. I asked what happened to my reflectors and the guy did not know and he tried to search for them and he also tried to put some other reflectors in there and he just did not have any. A bike shop that does not even have basic reflectors. In any event the guy says go and come back in 2 hours. I live 30 minutes away so that would have meant a 2 hour ( 30 minutes each way for one hour round trip which I now had to make for just my reflectors). I told the guy to forget and paid 100 bucks for a tune up and the guy does not even give me a receipt or asks me if I need a receipt or anything. I had to go check my bank to make sure he did not charge me more than 100.God knows what else is missing from my bike. I was a first time and now a last time customer.

Exceptional, small town service — consistently! We’ve been in a few times for various reasons, including a new bike purchase, service, accessories, and even a Spinning bike repair. José remembers our family, gives fantastic (and pragmatic!) advice, and is always super helpful. Danville’s lucky to have such a great local shop.

Lousy service. They make you feel like they are doing a favor to either sell you a bike or service it. In my experience with them there were frequent delays in getting my bikes back when I drop them off for repairs or tuneup. The last repair was supposed to be done in 4 days and they are late by a week already. That is the last time I’ll do business w them.

He is very knowledgeable, great person and will take care of you!!! I bought a bike from Facebook and had to take it apart to get it home. He completely realigned my bike and made sure it was all good to go.Checked out their inventory while I was waiting and I can’t wait to go back in a couple of months to purchase a mountain bike. Great prices!!!!It is located in the super cute downtown Danville area. Please go here if you want reliability and a great experience.

Contacted Danville Bike after going to another shop in the area and having a less than enjoyable experience. Jose got me the part I needed to get back on the road quickly. He was friendly, treated me well, and I felt good leaving the shop - the total opposite of my experience down the road from him. I have since been back for other accessories and had equally excellent experiences. I thoroughly recommend Danville Bike - the best shop in the area by far.

Ive taken my bike here to fix flat tires multiple times and they always go flat again right away. They also said that they would get sharpie marks off my bike and fix the basket but when I showed up they charged us full price and hadnt done any of it.My brothers bike was also brought in 3 times for flat tires and the problem is never fixed correctly. After being continuously let down by Danville Bike we started going elsewhere.
