This store, now folded into Ace Hardware, regularly has products I buy for my cooking adventures when I need them and dont have time to shop price.

Great local hardware store. Really friendly staff with that wonderful small town feel. For want of a better term, it, like so many of the locally owned businesses, it is true Davis. And that is a compliment.

Theyre always willing to help a person out and if they dont have the information they go and find somebody who does to help you

Uninformed staff increases the frustration of a split store. Was given the wrong closing time for housewares while IN the hardware store. One clerk asked another, -- neither checked to make sure -- and answered my inquiry with closes at 7, you have plenty of time when in fact housewares closes at 6 on Sat. Found out after I walked over there at 6:30. Clerks and manager shrugged off the mistake, like it was nothing, and seemed to suggest that I should have known, as it has been that way for awhile. Why arent the different closing times prominent on the Website? Going to Target for the things I would have bought at Ace.

Unpretentious store, in Davis ... like a pleasant step into the past. Very refreshing!

Huge selection. VERY helpful staff-- just wander through the spraypaint/tool section and ask the guys back there anything. Theyll usually tell you the cheapest way to get stuff done (or, rarely, warn you when the cheap way isnt the best.)

Ive only had positive experiences at Ace. They always seem to be fully staffed and all of the employees are really helpful. This is my general go-to spot for any home projects or tinkering projects.

Workers here are very helpful. They walk around asking people that look confused ( one such as myself) and when I dont look confused they leave me alone to browse.

The staff are great and willing to spend extra time helping you find what you need. I spent 15 minutes with Jose looking for a special drill bit and he gave his undecided attention the whole time, which I find is rare.

I had a strang experience im walkin thru the davis ace just now a red haired fella with glasses asks me if i need anything i ask him i lookin for a universal extention cord plug end and with an atitude says ya we do....well do you need one with a ground i chuckled and said yea of course i didnt quite understand but maybe he tought i was building a lamp from the 50s anyway he just justified the drive to anywhere else then this ace davis i wish i cought his name so that you can steer clear of this ace trool.hes probly never even been onal a job site

Harassed by cashier tonight. Before I bought these items that I returned tonight, I was told that if it doesnt fit then I have 90 days to return it. I was told to save the receipt and packaging. Tonight, when I went to return these items, a hammer, a wrench and a screwdriver, I was given a very hard time about the return. I was accused of using the items and then returning them afterwards. THE ONLY ITEM that was even used once was the hammar and it looked scratched up because it was already scratched when I bought it. I felt discriminated against because I am female and disabled.
