Whenever I am going outdoors and I need something, Big 5 Sporting Goods is the place to go too! They have a wide variety of stuff which has made my life super easy when picking up a new sport to try. Also, they sell shoes and sandals that are good quality and will last a while. The staff were super friendly and nice! They helped out with my answers and could direct me in the right place.
Great service and fair price 👍
Well, either Im sketching out, or these employees seem to think everyone is there to rip them off. Im just looking for some shoes same then Im wanting to look at some gear, yknow, shirts n pants, and other things.. And as Im doing my thing, I got this feeling that Im being tailed. Sure enough, I did a double back through the clothing racks and heres this little guy going through the places if been through. But he was acting real cool, like I couldnt tell he was looking and counting every item and hook that I had looked at, trying to keep up and make sure I didnt take anything without paying. Ok, I guess its a new loss prevention technique, because as I laid my stuff on the counter to pay he was there checking the times I had picked up. Its just kinda weird, but then, what isnt kinda weird in davis?
Ok.sporting goods store. Service was adequate. Store is a bit crowded with merchandise.
They are still requiring masks even though the virus is all but gone and the state has released all mask mandates. Owner is not so bright.
There is a sales associate named Whitney at the Davis Big 5. She is AWESOME! We were in and out of that store in 10 minutes because she gave competent, efficient advice on fishing poles and swim suits. I would hire her In a heartbeat in my business any day! Go Whitney!!!
Found fishing poles and hiking boots... good customer service.
Kenyon was very knowledgeable & helpful, he provide excellent customer service!
Great prices and service
Great selection...good pricing too.
Davis centric; they have what the kids are supposed to get for school, so less seasonal issues than Target. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. A nice Big5
Great service and selection with good prices. Especially if a sale is on.
Excellent prices. For a bike centric town this sporting goods store is lacking in this area. However their clothing is what I was there for and their prices are very good.
I found very good hiking shoes at sales prices, ranging from $20-$40.
Its like the Radio Shack of sporting goods. They just about anything youll need, but not always the best. Prices are good. Be sure to play the sales for best value.
Great deals. Helpful staff. One of my favorite stores.
Love having a Big 5 in our neighborhood. Parking is always easy. Not very busy. Salesperson are friendly and ready to help. Selection is pretty decent. Clean and organize.
Super friendly staff. Helped me pick out the right shoes even though it took 10 different tries.
Its your generic mega corporation owned specialty shop: crammed with as much stuff in there as possible; thier prices are optimized to the maximum you would be willing to pay. Some staff might be knowledge about the equipment however they seem to rotate out often. Good for that one item you overlooked and need ASAP.
Ok in a real pinch but pricier than other options to buy same stuff, and god forbid you want to return something. The store seems cramped and dated. It is crammed with racks and racks of workout clothes that no one seems to buy bc its overpriced. Sure, signs on racks say Big Sale! but look closer and its your basic brand name sports top for $45...etc etc). The quality, choice, and pricing on sneakers (which we go through a ton of around here) is blah. Stuff here tends to be lower end and lasts about as long as sneakers from mega box stores.I dont know how many times Ive gone in, been surprised at price, and thought... nah Ill just get it on Amazon (yes I try to shop local, as this review shows, but it doesnt work out here) where I have more options, pricing is competitive, and returns are zero hassle. Most staff is friendly, burnt out, and a bit clueless. Turnover seems high. Its next door to Jacks which is a plus.
Good place to buy tennis shoes and sport equipmen, good prices
They had exactly what I needed and a clerk came and asked me if I needed help within 3 minutes of me finding the department I needed.. very good service
Love going to that place people there was so nice they all need to get raises
Nice and clean store. Kind employees. Everything you expect.
One of the few general sports goods stores in Davis. For general needs they carry a good variety of sports paraphernalia. I have had good experience with their customer service.
Good deal, friendly staff
Great winter boots. Prices good. Sales are great!
Looking for a wide variety of swim, goggles, and swimming accessories Speedo and Nike for youth, men and women this store with excellent customer service even had the swim caps for long hair.
Ok
Anyone that still sells AR-15s gets five stars from me
Great location -- the manager is very fair and friendly. Couldnt recommend this location more!
Staff is very unfriendly. However, shop has some good sport equipments.
Kaleb in the shoe department was super helpful! Clean store and friendly employees!
I have been a Big 5 customer for years and have never had a problem with customer service until last night March 5th. I had to return my daughters spikes and the manager really harassed me about returning them. She treated me like dirt!! I am totally disappointed with this store!!!!!! I have worked in the retail industry before and I have NEVER treated a customer the way I was treated last night, especially from the manager. She embarrassed me in front of my daughter and made my daughter extremely uncomfortable. There is no excuse for belittling a customer. I will never shop here again!!!!
Friendly staff and decent variety of outdoor gear here despite its small building size.
I bought some basketball shoes here which started to separate after 5 uses. I went to return them and the manager Steve did not allow me to after he judged them to have not normal wear and tear. I had been a customer at this big 5 for over 20 years which I also explained to the manager but I will never go back after this incident.
Easy to find what I was looking for and awesome customer service!
Pretty good store but they had more than 5 things and they come in all sizes. misleading name.
Good staff and very nice selection of itemes
A surprisingly good selection for such a small space. Every time Ive been there theyve had what I wanted in stock.
Theyve got some great stuff when its in stock.
Great staff, knowlegable at what questions come up.For all and any sporting goods its big5 by far.
They require a physical receipt for a return. Like its 1981. Save the hassle and avoid this place
Very helpful staff. A little over crowded with merchandise.
Great place for decent sporting goods. Grab a coupon online before heading in.
Was not crowded and was able to get in and out in a few min
Conscientious about masks.
They always have a great deal in shoes and other stuff
Workers here are very nice
Good prices and quality, yet not the friendliest of staff.
Friendly staff. Remodeled store make things easy to find.
Found what I needed easily
Its a basic sporting goods store. Thats about it.
Fishing gear is always sold out and over priced. Workers are nice tho
Always a great sale....
Surprising reasonably priced
Not the best customer service anymore because theirs new management. They dont greet upon entry anymore.
Great prices for outdoor gear!
I had the worst experience ever here in Davis. I bought an item drove all the way home to Dixon only to find out something was missing . Went back next morning to exchanged it the work took the missing piece from another box put it in mine and said it was all there . Thank God I had some shopping to do across town because I open the box only to find out again it was missing another different piece. Had I gone all the way home and had to drive all the way back I would have flipped out THREE times I had to return to the store to get a complete item I had bought . Someone is slipping over there. I will not go back to Davis store
Disrespectful manager
Doesnt have shoes appropriate for work. Has lots of sporting goods for sports that I dont know
They have what I was looking for. Call first to make sure they he it in stock.
Has nice swimsuits
Was nice just bought a cup
A little pricey, very crowded with merchandise.
Typical small sporting goods store. Poor selection of Disc Golf.
Good please to buy thighs
No senior or disability discount
They got it all. Its not top of the line but it all good stuff.
Good selection, friendly workers
The staff always took care of me here and are very kind.
Very helpfull.
Or if a lot of stock
As expected but staff was slow and I had to ask for service.
Everything is overpriced they have some good sales items
Overpriced, but have some things that are hard to locate.
Nice place
It’s got a lot of guns 🔫
Fail
