The store was clean and well stocked. The staff were ready and available with resources to help you find what you need for your scout.

My son had received an Eureka Tent for Christmas purchased from The Miami Valley Scout Shop. It was a 3 person pup tent. The tent was never used and was just opened to use at Camp Birch this week for Webelo Camp. When we set the tent up at camp ( we set it on top of a blue vinyl heavy duty tarp ), I noticed there was a 1 rip on the bottom along with about 50 tiny holes around the floor.I called the Miami Valley Scout Shop and advised of the situation that it was a new tent and that the first time it was used was two days before at camp and that it was a present and defective. Initially they told me that they could not do anything as they had a 90 day warranty. Then she said that she could double that to 180 days but that it was after that time too. I asked for her supervisors information to follow up.In the mean time, I called Eureka customer service that I looked up online. I noticed that they have a 1 year warranty on their tents. I called there and explained the situation and they were MORE than happy to send me a prepaid sticker to mail the tent back for repair or replacement. I advised her that I would be just fine with either as I just wanted him to have a tent that did not have holes. She was shocked to hear that The Miami Valley Scout Store would not take it back as they would get credit from Eureka if they just sent it back to them.I left a message with the Scout Store supervisor and got a call back from the woman who called me earlier and she said that she had to go to her supervisors supervisor and they got permission to do an exchange as they had one of those tents left. I advised her that I was disappointed with the scout store and that Eureka had advised that they would have credited them if they would have exchanged it for me. I told her I would wait to see what happened with me mailing it back first and then if that did not work out, I would come in and exchange it.
