Great artist. I have even bought from him in the past. This has nothing to do with his art, more about how he treats his customers. Maybe its just me. I used to be a fan of his and respected him. I buy a lot of local art and like to support the arts community in Dayton. However, I was very much let down by his behavior and how he treated me at his studio even after I bought some of his works and one of his assistants made sure I brought the artwork by him to be signed by him. It would have been better if I paid for the art without getting it signed. His rude behavior was very shocking not to mention saddening since I held him in such high esteem. Every time I see him, his behavior is taunting, condescending, and borderline creepy. He eyes me up and down which I would not consider professional behavior. He also will be very condescending. Last time I bought from him, he made me wait for a couple minutes telling me he wanted to give me a flower. At the time I just wanted to go home after purchasing a piece from him. Upon giving me what he called a flower, it was a dirty paintbrush that I did not want anywhere near me or my clothing. I threw it in the trash. I failed to see the humor and found it disrespectful behavior especially towards someone who made a purchase. Him and his friend were laughing. I was appalled. He even had the gall to tell me to plant it and that a flower would appear. I dont know if there is something wrong with him, but I was not appreciative of his behavior. I will not buy from him again. He lost a customer. Who seriously treats a customer like this??
