Live out of state and only found the shoes in the size I needed on Roderer’s website. Took a chance and ordered even though I never heard of the place. Great experience! I received the shoes faster than most places even take to give a shipping notice. Very impressed! Shoes look great too!
Had an absolutely amazing experience here. This was the first time I had ever been and was in desperate need of a new pair of shoes. I hate shopping for shoes and never know how to select the right pair. Emily helped guide and suggest on my shoe journey. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Very glad I was paired up with her from the get go. Came in and bought two great shoes that fit amazing and are helping with the much needed arch support. Shout out to Emily for the great customer service as well as suggestions.
Good selection, well staffed and excellent service. Very helpful go to location for my elderly mother.
Since I cant walk into just any shoe store to buy a pair of shoes that fit I googled stores in the area that might be able to help me. Up popped Roderers. I decided to give them a shot. The staff was extremely patient and persistent in their pursuit of a fit. I walked out with two pairs to add to my sparce collection of footwear! Great vibe, great experience, great fit. Thank you.
The staff at this locally owned shoe store is amazing! They are quite knowledgeable about foot issues and passionate about helping their staff. They are always my first stop when Im shoe shopping.
Great service. Known for selling quality shoes for hard to fit feet. Will order shoes for you if they dont have them in your size.
Friendly, fast knoweledgable staff. Ill definitely be back!
I could have gotten my shoes on Amazon, but it was only about 10% more to buy them locally. Totally worth it to actually be fitted! I had no idea I needed narrow shoes. Great selection and excellent customer service.
I did research online to decide on which work shoes to buy. Roderers was my choice because of their being a local company and also the shoes were what I wanted. When I arrived, on Sunday August, 23 they were very busy and I resigned myself to a long wait. To my surprise an employee walked up to me and asked if they could help me. I told him what shoes I was looking for and asked to have my feet measured just to be sure I bought the right size.My feet were measured, the shoes I wanted were brought out, I tried them on, I decided to buy them, and I was rung out. All this was done in a matter of moments. After I got home, there was a Thank you email in my inbox from Chris Roderer thanking me for my business and saying if theres anything he can do, just contact him.I was so impressed by this that I decided to purchase another pair of shoes from them. I placed the order online in the late afternoon and the shoes were hand delivered by I assume a Roderer employee today Monday August 24, 2020. I was glad to see that they came from the E. Stroop store. What a great shopping experience. I require a special type of shoe that are relatively expensive no matter where I get them and Roderer has earned a life-long customer.Thank you Chris and everyone at Roderer Shoes
If you have issues with your feet, this is the place for you. Here you can find great shoes and excellent assistance from knowledgeable sales associates. I found the help I needed here. Ive been a customer for over 5 years now.
I just tried their new online ordering option with store pick up and it was seamless. The website was very easy to navigate on my Mac and iPhone. Ordering online was a breeze while offering a number of convenient options for payment, retrieval, and even, by appointment fitting of the shoes. Pick up at the store was quick and smooth. Within an hour I was able to select, order, and pick-up my daughters new shoes. Basically, my experience met all the standards that Ive come to expect from Roderer Shoe Center. In closing, Ill share my daughters thoughts after wearing her shoes all day. She said, these shoes are great for playing hopscotch and...they fit like a glove!
The customer service is phenomenal! Highly recommend
Thanks Chris for the fantastic service and saving my feet! If you have any kind of foot pain I recommend checking them out. They were helpful with picking out the right shoes for both professional 👞 and casual 👟 . A couple months before going here I went to The Good Feet Store and got their insoles. If I could go back I would have started out with Roderer first and tried their lower cost insoles. Then if I needed additional foot support I would have went to The Good Feet Store for their insoles. Just call, set an appointment, and they will take care of you!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff every time we purchase shoes in the store. Ordered online for the first time and shoes arrived two days later. I hear the website is new and only some inventory is listed, so I’m excited to see what’s to come. Excellent customer service and store inventory.
Amazing experience, I don’t remember the people’s names but they were very polite and knowledgeable. I got measured for the correct foot size and they took their time to see all the imperfections I had in my walk and recommended some shoes for me. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone
Salesperson was very friendly and knowledgeable on what would fit me.
So many choices! Shopping took longer than I expected because there were so many shoes to choose from. The staff was very patient as I bounced from shoe to shoe and knowledgeable about the varying features of the different brands. I did the shop by appointment and observed that all staff were wearing the proper protective gear and were diligent about cleaning surfaces/merchandise to eliminate any cross contamination between customers and coworkers. Great experience. Ill definitely be back - Jane
I went into the store today looking for a couple pairs of shoes. I really liked what I saw but was needing assistance. After several sales people walked right by me and nobody ever once ask me if I needed help. I stood by the front desk trying to get the gentlemans attention when a well dressed customer walks he and he immediately helps that customer and when she walks away he puts his head back down and does not even acknowledge me. Now I dont know if it was the way I was dressed or the way I looked or what. I use to work retail management and customer service for over 25 yrs. this should never happen with as many employees you had in there.
Five stars for super amazing customer service and good quality, supportive yet cute foot wear. Both times I’ve shopped here the staff member who helped me was SO knowledgeable, patient, and went above and beyond. Fantastic staff. Shoes are expensive but they are high quality so that is why you should expect to pay more - it’s a better product. I am a teacher so it’s worth the extra money because Vionic and Eco brand shoes support me on my feet all day, at work (yet still look professional). This is where I go to get my teaching shoes. I would like more women’s Vionic selection, please. Thanks!
When you need great service in shoes and a huge selection this is the place to go.
I had ordered an Air Force Marathon T-shirt online and it was to small. The customer service was outstanding. Especially Chris. He sent me return labels to ship the small shirt back and sent me recommendations of shirts that I may like. Hope the visit the store when in Ohio next time.
Roderer Shoe Center is a great shoe store. They have a large selection to chose from and will order for you if your size is not available. The biggest thing that distinguishes Roderer is their service. Always friendly, always helpful. With their advice, I purchased a pair of Vionic shoes and wore them to a 3 day conference with a lot walking and standing. I had no foot or leg pain.
Very helpful and patient staff. They have a large selection of shoes available and are willing to special order if they do not have exactly what I need. Their new online store looks promising to shop from as well.
By far the best place to get quality shoes! The staff is one of the reasons I purchase my footwear here. Always professional and kind.
Great place to get shoes! Nice staff. Quality foot wear!
We went and found blue Birkenstock sandals with fleece lining- my daughter really liked them - but they did not have her size. So Kirsten said that the ones that sort of fit on her feet were too small! Kirsten is wonderful! She is willing to tell the truth even if she lost a sale! THANKS RODERER SHOE CENTER for having an honest sales person! THANKS KIRSTEN!
I always bring my kids to Roderers when they need new shoes. Great customer service, plenty of choices to choose from, and a clean, well-kept store. 🙂
Spoke with store manager (Barbara) who in MY OPINION was rude and unprofessional. Customers should be talked to and treated with dignity and respect. When I visited the store this morning at least two (2) white employees acted as though they did NOT want to service me. This store needs SERIOUS customer service AND DIVERSITY training. I would not recommend anyone to shop and give their hard earned money to this prejudice store. Remember, in this economic economy, it’s loyal CUSTOMERS that keeps stores in business.
Old school personal attention. Quality shoes, competitive pricing.
Last weekend I bought new balance more version 1. I did not get 30 percent off. They are very snooty.
Nice selection of mens shoes Reasonably pricedThis is a store that prides itself on customer service. The owner Chris Roderer will make every effort to see that his customers are satisfied. He is working to develop not a customer service team - but a Customer Servicing Team. The first is a noun the second shows action. My Gratitude to Chris for [providing EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and a nice fitting pair of shoes.
Get quality service and merchandise at Roderer’s Shoe Center! I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for my shoes.Like everyone else I’m excited for spring. Ordered some sandals and walking shoes online yesterday and am wearing them today!Support this local business! They are actively involved in our Kettering community. Roderer’s donates shoes and socks to children in the Kettering Schools!Truly a wonderful company who needs your support through this pandemic. Check out their online options!Peg Engelhardt
Amazing, kind and professional customer service and care.
What a wonderful experience! I brought my 1 year old son in to look for shoes for wide feet. The sales associate sized him and helped pick out the right shoes for his feet. She was also able to help my husband pick out shoes that would help his multiple foot issues. The sales associate was so attentive and really help us find exactly what we were looking for. Thank you, we will be back!
Bought my sons first pair of shoes here tonight!! Kevin was very helpful and patient- didn’t mind that I had to run next door to get some snacks and feed my little guy while he fit him. He gave me at least 7 options and explained the pros/cons of each. After we were done he helped my mom order a new pair of boots- we’re customers for life and will certainly ask for him next time!
Shoes, boots and slippers for the entire family. If their expert staff is unable to fit and please you, they will order. The selection is vast. Slim, narrow, medium, wide and extra wide sizes and feet are their specialty. All will be sized and the shoes will fit your feet. Enjoy!
I am 70+ with not-so-great knees and needed some comfortable walking shoes. The Roderer Shoe Center at Town and Country was recommended to me. I usually buy inexpensive shoes from various stores and as the old adage states, you get what you pay for. Roderers is a spacious store displaying a large variety of of styles and manufacturers brands. Becky, a delightful and knowledgeable sales person (not, I emphasis, NOT a clerk) assisted me. She made sure the shoes fit properly and were comfortable for my needs. Cheap - No. Inexpensive - compared to what, tired and hurting feet? Three pairs of shoes and some socks later a very happy me walked out the door. Wow! Okay, WOW!!
Went to Roderer shoe Center today around 11am, not to busy at all. Passed three employees, not one asked if I needed any help, but did ask the people around me if they needed help with anything. Thanks for helping me make the decision to spend my money somewhere else!
This is the best shoe store in the Dayton area and is recommended by many podiatrists. I personally buy all my shoes from Roderer and enjoy the great service and knowledge they have. Greg McAfee
Dont live in the area and dont get a chance to shop around here often. Came in looking for something specific that I was unable to find anywhere else. Was helped within a few minutes of entering, found what I needed and was checked out all within 15 minutes. Great service & products.
HUGE selection! Staff was very attentive and helpful, especially Karen, who took the time to help my girlfriend try on several brands and sizes of shoes. She was very knowledgeable and found my girlfriend the perfect pair of shoes to help her plantar fasciitis. I would recommend this store to everyone I know
I just started a new job and my steel toed shoes were wore out so I needed a new pair which my company would reimburse me for, so going on my supervisors recommendation I drove 40 minutes to Roderers which I’d personally never heard of, he told me they’d measure my foot and fit me with the most comfortable pair of shoes possible.I walk in and was not greeted, I walk all over to find the work shoe section and had to actually catch someone’s eye to help me, I could tell she was new, so she gets a pass, but there was an older gentleman that she called over to help, as far as women’s steel toed the selection is very limited from what I seen and was told, (come on, yes women wear work shoes also and not just nurse shoes), I was then told the only thing in my size that was readily available was a high boot, I work in the heat I’m not trying to wear some hot boots, then I was told that the men’s sizes don’t even start small enough to fit a size 7.5 woman. So I left without any work shoes and no alternative suggestions. The only thing I left with was to call if I decided I wanted to order the only shoe I put my foot in.I did decide to call and have that shoe ordered (only because I didn’t want another pair of Red Wings)I called and the gentlemen was extremely nice and helpful in finding who I talked to and we ordered the shoes,They came in and I got the call 2 hours before I had to be at work that day so I rushed there thinking I’d have a comfortable night at work with new shoes,That did NOT happen, if they would have taken the time to measure my foot (like it says in their mission statement to be the next best thing next to custom tailoring) to see what would or could work for me (I mentioned several times to both of the sales people that I had plantar fasciitis) I wouldn’t have ended up with a pair of shoes that feel to tight and where my toes go to the end. Needless to say I’m back wearing my old shoes and working 8 of my 12 hr shift in excruciating pain and now I don’t have the option for company paid work shoes.I feel if I try to return these that I’m just going to end up with something just as uncomfortable not to mention more expensive when I could have utilized my company paying $150 instead of the cheaper pair I ended up with.I won’t recommend this place to anyone.Rikki Frieszell
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. We always appreciate their recommendations, life changing really if you ever find yourself with a painful foot problem! The store can get quite busy, but well worth it for the quality and quantity of product you can find here.
A couple of weeks ago, I was in the market for Keen hiking shoes and some casual shoes. I spent 30 minutes in mens shoe section, inspecting just about every hiker Roderer carries and was ignored by two staff members. Both knew I was there, as I observed their looking at me briefly a few times. In fact, one older, well-dressed sales gentlemen (suit/tie) sat approx. 20 feet away from me at one point and was doing something on his cell phone. Only thing I can figure is my faded jeans and Tee-shirt communicated non-buyer. Dont judge a book by its cover; spent a lot of money at a competitors establishment.
I came into this store expecting to leave with a comfortable pair of slip on loafers with zero concerns of price. I picked out 3 different brands and asked for an 8.5 or 9 with no preference on color of any of them as long as it was the same style. Initially, the young guy that was helping me brought out one pair that was actually sandals... when he went back to get the right shoes he said he didn’t have any of them in either size in those styles and he brought completely different shoes out- nothing at all like the ones I had found- structurally or material, which I wasn’t at all interested in. So I said thanks anyway and we left. As we were passing the windows when we left the employees were watching us and seemed as though we were rude for not considering their alternatives. But I find it odd that they had all of these shoes on display, yet had none of them in either size and any color? It was a waste of a trip. There’s no point in shopping somewhere that I can’t actually try the shoes I’m trying to purchase on.... I would have just ordered online....
I have visited the store two times in the last three weeks and made purchases. On both occasions the sales person did not complete the sale with me but went on to take care of anther customer. leaving me to put the shoes back in the box and take them to the counter. Shades of a discount store without discount prices.. This store does not understand good customer service.
Not customer friendly no one said hello or said welcome to the store and nobody helped me. Maybe because i was black who knows who cares
Great shoe store for both men and childrens shoes. Prices are competitive and the staff are very helpful but not pushy.
Great selection, terrific prices, and attentive staff. I live 8 hours away, only visit Dayton 2-3 times a year, and make Roderer Shoe Center the exclusive place where I purchase shoes.
I took my mother in to the store she has bought shoes at for many years. We roamed around looking at what was available and finally had a seat, wondering why nobody looked at us or addressed us in any way. We had no idea of how one went about getting shoes to try on. This was a Thursday afternoon, not a weekend.Perhaps the little help available could work a system where a customer takes a number. When one notices that someone who came in after you gets service, you think there is something wrong with the way a store is managed.I give this unfriendly business one star for some nice shoes they stock, but the people who work there need a lesson in customer service.
Today I brought my grand daughter in for shoes, she walked in with a size 13.5 and she is 4 years old. Some young guy measured her foot and said he thought she was in a size 2.5 or 3. Im thinking there is no way my granddaughter went up three sizes her toe is only at the end of a 13.5! So I tell him but he keeps bringing out 2 and 2.5 that are INCLUDEDO to big I have to force him to bring me 1s.In the meantime, some lady passed and I asked her to go tell him to bring another style out, she looks at my gbabe and says I hate to tell you, but they dont come in your size! And walks away. First of all, dont talk to my Excited gbabe like that. Second of all, out of the MILKINGM of shoes that they didnt have in her size we need to re-evaluate because he was looking for size 2.5. and she is a one! Im not putting my g babe in a entire side bigger for room to grow. Ill buy more when that happens, okay? The guy was difficult . The passing lady was Rude. The Roeders up north is better they are DUMB HERE!
This is my second time at Roderer and both times I left with a good feeling in my heart. It feels good to have people care about your needs and make time for you. The staff is very knoweledgable and dont make you feel you are a nuisance by asking lots of questions or needing to try on a lot of shoes to find the perfect pair. I wish I wouldve remembered the names of the 2 ladies that helped me bc they made me feel comfortable confident with my choices. Definitely going to only be using Roderer for all my shoe needs from now on bc I can trust them be happy with my purchase and know the shoes are high quality.
My mom brought us as kids to get school shoes and now weve made it a tradition to bring my children. Its hard having wide feet but not here, they have everything. I can get my Dansco nursing shoe, ugg boots and birkenstocks all in one place. My oldest has wide feet also and this is the only place I can find her shoes that fit. If anything was out of stock or not in the color I wanted, we ordered it without any issue. Thanks for the great customer service and being so close to home.
They might have great shoes or great prices, but it is impossible to get the attention of staff to find out
In store service I recently experienced was not satisfactory. Shoes still on order and have had to follow up twice and put on hold for long periods while they go pull up order (must not be automated). Unfortunately like most businesses; its not the same service as in past years.
Excellence service and prices. Thanks Chris for a good experience, I will be back in the future.
Great store, great people and great products.
Have been rude and inpatient on more than one occasion when Ive called this store- find a shoe store with better customer service!
Great Place to buy shoes!
Great place to shop great shoes
Amazing staff.
Good selection, nice salespersons
